Deva Tap in Cheshire West and Chester

Stopped by last night for a late dinner but just missed the kitchen closing. Great selection of craft beers and I enjoyed a Leffe Belgian blonde for dinner instead. Came by again earlier tonight to eat - the Bang bang chicken burger was phenomenal. And I finally found some good fries!

Lovely staff, great beers on offer, and the food was BANGING. Had the Deva burger with upgraded dutty fries...unreal. Get here. Mint spot. Hidden gem of Chester for sure.

A great pub with a wide range of ales and unusual lagers. Staff chatty and place was busy on the Friday early evening when we visited.

Superb selection of beers and well kept, tried a few and all tasted great. They also do food which looked good also. Well worth a visit!

If you look closely at the building, you’ll see it was a Cocoa House back in the day. Nowadays, it sells a decent variety of local and international beers, ales and ciders.

We received a warm welcome on arrival and the service was friendly throughout. The menu was fairly priced and the food was very tasty. I had the chicken burger and it was very generously sized and the chicken was crispy and moist. Also there's a great selection of beer!!

Popped in on Saturday for the first time, pre gig over the road. Fabulous selection of real ales served in a lovely environment.

Tuesday 29th August 2023 This real ale pub and outdoor drinking areas are superb the choice of hand pumped ales good and the bar staff know there onions I'm interested in the clientelle though they are more beer drinkers than real ale drinkers and as such it was what it what it was Saturday 10th February 2024 We all came again to sample this Chester real ale pubs great real ales Again, I have said in previous write ups this pubs' hand pumped real ales has good has before and it real ciders are great Please dont mess up a good thing you owners of this pub

We choose the deva tap for my Birthday meal, which was also Valentine's, so glad we did, everything about our evening was excellent. The service was excellent, very friendly, helpful staff, great choice of food and drinks(I am very fussy as I have a hiatus hernia), great atmosphere, it was quiz night and really good fun. The food was absolutely delicious, I was even treated to a surprise birthday dessert for me and my husband with compliments from the team,wow, how lovely is that ♥️. Will definitely return, and highly recommend, thank you all at The Deva Tap.

The food was 10/10 absolutely amazing, the vibe was incredible with nice valentine’s day decorations. Quiz and games night was perfect entertainment for an amazing night.

Very good range of modern craft in keg and can along with some nice cask beer. Food was very nice and just what was needed with the beer.

We only called in here on our way back to the railway station, but as on previous occasions the bar fails to dissapoint. It hosts a good range of both cask & keg beers & is almost gauranteed to hold a beer that will cater for most tastes. Courtesous & knowledgable staff only helps to endorse that. Observing by the amount of reserved tables, I can only imagine It can get busy at times so If you have any doubts, try reserving a place in advance or get there early (before 6pm) I cant comment on the food as I didn't try any, but im guessing it has positive reviews?

A nice find on the way back to Chester station. It's not right outside, but it's very much on the way. A decent choice of beers and ciders. Quite welcoming, but felt a bit cold inside.

Came in here to start a pub crawl. The barman was very helpful and on the ball, even though it was his first day! There's a very good selection of ales at really good prices!

Questo locale seppur non si trova al centro, è uno di quei locali che bisogna visitare. Oltre il cibo, c'è tanto altro legato ad un'atmosfera rilassante e piacevole. Era tutto ciò che cercavo in un pub inglese. Consigliato assolutamente.

Brilliant selection of beers which is constantly rotating! The food was lovely and enjoyed trying the new menu and the mulled wine was the icing on the cake :)

It's like a permanent beer festival. Very nice real ales at reasonable prices and interesting craft ales at craft ale prices. Benches and tables have that Bavarian feel of purposeful socialising.

Really nice, basic pub with a superb range of beers and good looking food options; reasonably priced cocktails as well!! The best pub by far we went to during our Chester trip.

A favourite or mine. Cracking selection of beers, largers and ciders - not your standard pub stuff. Also great food. Just had the Nachos .... no photos as went too quick. Has a really mixed clientel from couples to famalies to dogs (with owners).

What a find! Super friendly pub in Chester slightly outside the city centre circuit BUT well worth the few extra minutes to get there. Superb *gourmet* burgers at reasonable prices. The Ruben special with pastrami and pickles was to die for! Great range of draught beers in excellent condition. Listed in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide for a reason. Well worth a visit.....

We visited early on a Wednesday night to find live music and a welcoming atmosphere. The food was delicious it all arrived promptly and well presented. The pizza I had was delicious and cooked to perfection. The side orders are a meal in themselves. There is an excellent selection of local beers and ciders. The deva taps own lager is well worth trying as is the White rat local hand pull bitter. Located just round the corner from the main railway station it is definitely worth a visit if you are looking for a good value meal and drink.

Met up with friends and had a few beers and lunch. Choice of beers was great - and fresh from cask / keg. Reuben on specials board was great for £7 and other dishes looked great. Would go again 👍🏻

Tucked away on Brook Street this was the first time we've visited the Deva Tap. There is an excellent selection of beers and ciders, well presented with chalk boards overhead to make your choice easier. I had two pints of a lovely, hazy IPA which was good enough to drink every night without getting bored of it. Both the strawberry and pineapple ciders, one still, were great. The night we attended all the burgers were 2 for 1 which was a bonus. They were delicious and a portion of fries between two of us was enough due to the large portion size. I had some buffalo chicken wings to start which again were excellent. The highlight however were the pizzas. They were huge and tasted fantastic. At the end of the night anything we couldn't eat was boxed up to take home. The service was faultless all night and the prices were excellent for what you got. The best beer tap house I've ever been to.

Popped in here on my own for a half before meeting a friend for tea, wow, very impressed! Staff are lovely and can’t do enough to help you, the selection of drinks is fab. Some people around me ordered food, it looked amazing, I can’t wait to return to eat here.

Great food, nice place to eat and drink, wonderful. Can’t credit this place enough, we had three bites between us and this was plenty, nice beer and lovely bottle of wine. Simple yet so good.

We dropped in just for a drink as I wanted to try the ales. We ended up having a meal as the food we saw going to other tables looked great. The specials all sounded delicious and the main menu was good too. I had the Nduja Burger and my wife had the Chicken Souvlaki special. We were both delighted with the tasty dishes and the portion size. The ales and wine were good too! All reasonably priced and with good, pleasant service and atmosphere.

Burger and a beer 👌 steak burger with bacon snd cheese, couldn't fault it in any way whatsoever. Well cooked, fresh ingredients, good portion size and delicious.

Popped in randomly last week and decided to have tea, we had pizza, chicken burger, blue cheese burger & chicken wings (we had the lemon & pepper and they were so tasty)... All the food was fresh, hot and super tasty and was served in good time.. even better it's also dog friendly with a super chilled vibe!

As the democratically elected leader of the gluten free society at Chester university, I chose to visit this establishment with my fellow alumni’s due to the various options available to us. The food was absolutely corking and I must say what a jolly good knees up it was. Fantastic choice and a real homely feeling. Would recommend to any of my fellows. 5 stars all round…. Dilly Dilly.

Popped in when passing , tried the ale , had cheesey nachos ( homemade salsa was amazing ) and a pizza and fries. All was very tasty . The staff were lovely too. Worth a visit

No table service which for a booked table I found white surprising. I feel like it should be specified on the website that they don’t do this. We arrived and a big group of us were stood at the bar for ages ordering drinks seperately...

This pub is conveniently located for the Railway Station, being situated just round the corner from the trains. A long building situated between two roads, it is furnished in a basic style with long wooden tables and benches made out of scaffolding tube and planks....

Sometimes with kids, 7 and 10, it's hard to find a place that is welcoming, with well kept real ale and good food. We found that place with The Deva Tap. We really couldn't of asked for more. Just like the reception, the building inside...

Really enjoyed visiting this place as the last stop on a crawl of craft beer establishments of Chester. Great selection of well kept beers. However very disappointed in the quality of the chicken on an otherwise tasty chicken and red onion pizza. Bits of gristle and feathers. Not acceptable!
