What a brilliant experience food fantastic and staff great

Friendly staff, quick service. The food was amazing, the only thing it was a bit steamy and hot inside. We’ll definitely be coming back.

Really delicious dishes and nice atmosphere. Specially the chicken shish, and turkey tea. I’ve really enjoyed and will recommended if you like Turkish cuisine.

We order takeaway from here all the time but something has changed with our family favourites. The Falafel recipe seems to be different and smaller. The taboule salad seemed overly spicy and fresh herbs didn't tast as fresh (i really look forward to this, was disappointed). All in all the staff are nice and the restaurant itself is lovely.

I saw this place randomly whilst driving by in watford and thought i’m slightly hungry i’ll grab a cheeky turkish. But wow the way this place suprised me i’m still in shock. The food was amazing!! Absolutely a 10/10 i wish i could explain how flavourful and tender the meat was. They even gave complimentary bread, salad and signature sauces. This is my new go to turkish place! A lot better than all of the other turkish food places i’ve tried.

The food here tastes like it is made with care. They are fairly affordable and the mixed platter is what I usually order for two people. The service is great!

In Watford for the weekend to celebrate my 70th birthday, visiting Harry Potter studios. We chose Derwish Restaurant as we both enjoy Turkish food. It was excellent in every way, the food and wine, the service, the hospitality of the staff and I was treated to not only cake, baklava and turkish delight bit they sang Happy Birthday too which made me feel very special indeed. Highly recommended.

Had such a good time at Derwish. We were a group of 20 and the atmosphere was great and lively. The staff were amazing and really attentive. Hope to come back again.

Having tried the Turkish restaurant in Greenwich, Exeter and now in St Albans Road in Watford, Derwish restaurant was the best in terms of food quality and hospitality. Tolga, the manager was incredibly friendly and made our experience wonderful with complimentary traditional turkish tea and baklava. Highly recommend the food and the restaurant.

We were visiting friends in Watford and this restaurant was recommend to us by someone in the pub. We went on a Friday night at 8:15/8:30 there wasn't many people in there so not much of an atmosphere. I had the lamb shank and it was absolutely delicious. It fell off the bone and was pink which was perfect for me 😋 The Turkish red wine was also 😋 Think the staff were a bit board and kept popping over which was OK apart from when one of the waitresses cleared away two of the plates leaning over me to do so and I was still eating! 4 starters, 3 mains, 4 wines and 1 pint £92 Which I think was good value especially for such delicious food. Would I eat here again if in Watford, definitely.

If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would. Amazing food!

Had been recommended to visit Derwish in Watford & it certainly delivered in every single aspect. Lovely festive decorations & we were given a warm welcome. House Red wine very nice & great value for money, as was everything else on the menu . We found it difficult to decide from all the delicious choices. Service was prompt & everything arrived hot & appetising. What we ordered was outstanding but the added extras extra olives (the staff overhead our enthusiasm with these in the complementary bread & dips), personalised cake for the birthday in our party & yummy Turkish delight with almonds. The whole experience surpassed our expectations & will definitely be back.

Great authentic Turkish mezze (looked and tasted homemade) and a good selection of Turkish wine. There was a big 80th birthday party while we were there but the staff remained attentive despite being really busy. Would recommend.

DO NOT USE THIS RESTAURANT!!! MY NEICE, WITH A HIDDEN DISABILITY WAS TREATED ABSOLUTELY APPALLING BY THE STAFF HERe TODAY. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE! THEY SHOULD BE ASHAMED! DISGUSTING BEHAVIOUR BY STAFF AND NO APOLOGY FROM THE MANAGEMENT. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Very rude staff. I have an inflammatory bowel disease and needed the toilet immediately. There were no staff around to ask at the time and I didn’t have time to wait. I have an official “I can’t wait card”. I proceeded to rush to the female toilet when 2 men came in banging viscously on the door and shouting aggressively at me to get out. I opened the door a jar to throw out my “I can’t wait card” and the man pushed the door open whilst I was sat on the toilet. Yelling at me. It was a very frightening and threatening experience and they showed zero compassion for someone with an inflammatory bowel disease. Lots of shouting and swearing making me even more anxious. My mother called the restaurant to explain and they showed zero empathy or remorse for their actions.

Everything was really amazing and awesome.

Was in Watford for the day and was curious about this beautiful gem of a restaurant. Fantastic food - the Lahmucan delicious, the bread was beautifully toasted with olive oil with the mains also spot on. Great service by down to earth work colleagues. Highly recommended if you’re ever in Watford, you won’t be disappointed.

These people are so amazing. I had my 60th birthday. The host organized everything, the decorations seating. Food as always amazing, people commenting how nice it was service excellent, nothing too much trouble. Highly recommend this place, will continue to eat here. Thank you Derwish so much!❣️❣️❣️

Ristorante turco incontrato per caso. Siamo entrati in questo ristorante attirati dall'ottimo odore di bbq che si percepiva dall'esterno. All'interno, siamo stati accolti da un ragazzo molto cordiale che ci ha coccolati tutta la sera invitandoci a provare i piatti turchi e combinandoli con le nostre preferenze o difficoltà. È stata una cena piacevolissima chiusa con un ottimo the turco.

Wowzers what an amazing find - we found by chance and as soon as we entered the restaurant nothing was too much. They made suggestions from the menu and it did not disappoint - beautifully tender, flavoursome and colourful. Amazing service and food - definitely recommend if you are in the area.

Came for lunch with the family, lovely clean restaurant with a variety of options on the menu. We ordered the shared platter and the portion was huge! Meat was tender, great flavours with each bite. Service was wonderful and the waitress was very attentive to the children. The whole family enjoyed the meal and the experience, will definitely come again!

What a find! Stayed at nearby Holiday Inn Express and wandered out for a stroll. Found this place and so pleased I did. Great food, perfect service all at incredibly affordable prices, then I do live in London. Recommend to all as a must visit

Lovely Turkish restaurant. Nice choice of different meze cold and hot as well as kebabs and larger plates. Not over crowded but a good atmosphere and friendly staff made our evening enjoyable. If you are driving, you'll need to find parking as it is not easy very close to the restaurant... We ate and drank a lot which bumped the cost up but it's good value for a simple meal.

We stumbled across this restaurant on a Friday evening. It was a great experience. The staff were very attentive and provided a great service. They included extra sauces, Turkish tea and Turkish delight all complimentary. The food was cooked quickly, hot and fresh. We will definitely visit again when in the area. The prices were also reasonable for a Turkish restaurant!

The food is just to die for. The kebab main courses were superb. Lovely tender meat with great spices. Well presented and great service. Will definitely be returning

Really enjoyed ourselves last night. My wife and I had the hot platter to start followed by minced lamb in bread with yoghurt and tomato sauce. Delicious. Pre-meal we had some really tasty, salt bread with either a yoghurty dip or spicy salsa dip (not too spicy. Just nicey spicy 😂), with a few olives thrown in. I'll be honest, this bread, dip, olives and beer combo would have done me! So good. So moorish but so dangerous to the appetite with a whole meal still to come. The restaurant is clean, tidy and not cramped. Could do with some parking though (is there any close by?). My wife said the toilet was clean and tidy. Staff were friendly and polite. A goodbye when you leave would have been a nice touch though. Menu is varied (our copies were a bit tatty in actuality) and it was good value for money. As well as what's mentioned above I had x2 bottles of beer (½L each, and my wife a large glass of wine and with a discretionary service charge it came to less than £35 each. Will come back and recommend you give it a go.

We went there today 29/04/2023 Waiter called ONUR served us and he is well experienced who know service at very high standard, I asked him to stop couple kids from different tables were running and scrumming my earhole. He politely asked their parents to take care of them so we could enjoy our food. I must tell food was lovely really enjoyed and will definitely visit again. THANKS ONUR

Nice ambiance for the location, well appointed, neat place. Decent food. Reasonably close to station. Parking is the only problem!

We were staying in the area for a couple of nights and spotted this place for a family meal. The food was delicious and the staff were amazing - so attentive and friendly. We had hummus and Shaksuka to start with bread, then a special chicken kebab, a grilled vegetable kebab and a children's chicken shish meal. All were so tasty and beautifully presented. Very well priced too. We would definitely return if we are back here again and I highly recommend.

Always a really nice meal. We're a family of 4 adults and go for the big set menu which includes some starters, we tend to add a couple of extra as got a couple of big eaters. Went Sunday night and was quite empty but the service was very good and friendly.

Have eaten here and had take out many times and been quite happy with the service and food but tonight they got the order wrong. We don’t eat meat and we got a meat kebabs instead of the veg meze . The lady on the phone was very unhelpful and quite rude when we called to question this. No offer to replace the food or reimburse. There is lots of competition now so doubt we will order again. I don’t seem to be able to reply in your response to you message. But this has been a very disappointing experience. You may need to work on your customer service. The person on the phone was very condescending. It is very offensive to call people you don’t know darling! You may also need to discuss your contract with Uber eats if they are to blame, it shouldn’t be for your client to deal with.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Derwish Meze and BBQ Restaurant in Watford on a Sunday night, and I must say, it was a delightful experience! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm welcome and polite staff. The restaurant was also very clean, which made us feel comfortable and at ease. While it wasn't very busy on the Sunday night we visited, we did struggle a bit to find parking close by. However, once we were seated and looking through the menu, we were pleasantly surprised by the reasonable prices. The highlight of our meal was definitely the mixed grill, which consisted of lamb shish, chicken shish, and lamb cofta. All of the meats were expertly cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. The accompanying fresh salad and homemade bread were also a delicious addition to the meal. Overall, I highly recommend Derwish Meze and BBQ Restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious meal in Watford. The friendly service, clean atmosphere, and mouth-watering food make it the perfect spot for any occasion.
