Cold wet and miserable walk, but that was quickly sorted by the nicest pie and chips I’ve had in years 😁 hope the squeaky voice gets better soon, was plenty of salt and vinegar ❤️ unlike my usual chippy

Great, staff are always friendly, and food is excellent, great selection all cooked fresh if you Havant tried them please do, if your on the holiday camp this is the best place to get your food prices are brilliant and kids meals are excellent.

The best fish and chip bar ! Have been going to dens on a Friday night for years wouldn't go anywhere else all the staff are so friendly food delicious 😋 the cod is amazing!!

The fish and chips were delicious, and cheap compared to what we pay at home.

Excellent quality and extremely friendly service.

Portion sizes are terrible. A large chips is the size of a standard portion, and chips were undercooked. Curry sauce is very watery and has zero flavour.

Love the food here. Always go to them when I'm in town. The staff are really nice and this is a real asset to the high Street. Keep up the great work guys.

We stopped here whilst on a visit to Selsey and wanted some fish & chips on the beach. All four of us ordered something different and the food was lovely, and made really quickly, The chips were the best we have had from a chip shop! I will definitely come back when we next visit and would recommend to anyone wanting a nice fish and chip dinner.

We've had friend staying this week from Hounslow and they wanted proper fish and chips. We normally go elsewhere when we are here but was disappointed the last time. DENS is PROPER OLD FASHIONED fish and chips We all loved it. Great batter and great portions. See you in a fortnight.

Great fish, chips and pies. Very popular but gets busy especially on Friday evenings. Only downside are the hours because is closes to early.

I absolutely love it.. best fish and chips by far! Lovely family run business. One tip.. don’t put vinegar on the chips as it makes them stick to the paper.. do it yourself when you get home. 👍👍👍

Nice fish and chips service a bit slow

Dens is a very popular fish and chip shop in Selsey. We have never been disappointed yet with the quality and service. WE normally like Haddock, but they only have it now and then. But the cod makes a nice change now and then.

Food can be a bit variable in quality at times but overall its nice, can get very busy in peak times and peak season, waiting area could be nicer, staff very pleasant. The price for what you get is now being contested by a new fish and chip shop on the seafront, where you get nicer quality and portions and den's seemed to have ignored this? Usually more local competition increases everyone's quality and values but this doesn't seem the case here. Overall, its a nice place to go and get a fish and chips from however not the best.

The fish and chips here are great --so well cooked crispy and fresh ! AND Den does an OAP portion of fish & chips for £5.50 !!!! AMAZING! We ALWAYS go here when visiting Selsey . Thanks Den !

I can't remember if i've ever had worse fish and chips. It was swimming in oil. The 2 of the 3 haddock were mushy and foul tasting, so either too long in the freezer or off. The chips were squidgy and oily. It was very busy, so best guess they were trying to turn the food around too quickly and didn't allow the oil to heat up properly before frying the next batch. Wasn't cheap either and £35 for 4 meals (and we shared the chips). Only ate a small amount before feeling nauseous. Almost everything ended up in the bin.

Read a lot of reviews before deciding to try the fish supper from Den's. My score (along with my son) is 7.5/10. Overall, a tasty meal with plenty of chips and a decent sized piece of cod. Chips were not my absolute favourite, but were crisp on the outside and grease free. The fish batter though was greasy even though it had been draining for a while. Batter very crisp and crunchy, so not sure where the grease was really coming from. Anyway, we both did enjoy everything. Cost was average compared to other places.

previously a very good quality of food, HOWEVER we tried again in April 2022 and was left disappointed. our accommodation was literally a 3 minute trip but by the time we got to plate it up the batter on the fish was so greasy it stuck to the paper and we were left with just plain fish. this used to be the best chippie around :(

This has to be the best place for fish in the area! Always queues as your meal is cooked fresh whilst you wait. No re-heated lunchtime leftovers here, just fantastic fish n chips

One of my favourite locations for a Wednesday drive out. Good portions, not greasy, and a great car park that overlooks the sea so that you can eat them, just at the end of the road. Staff always seem cheerful and chatty.

This is I'm saying the best fish and chip shop I've ever come across in the UK ever, and I've been to more than 500 in 40 years. Even got filmed for a documentary in banks in Hove and that's on whole new lvls as a high end restaraunt. Dens beats the food on all aspects vs all the rest. Its the cleanest, best operating independant family business,l I've come across, one of the best. Total privalege to be be lucky to live close by, for me and my fiance, my family it's a 10/10. I'm a superfan 😊 wish you was open 7 days a week 16 hours a day, but i know how it is, part of the reason why dens just gets it right, always.

Place was busy, always a good sign. Fish was lovely as were the peas. Chips were a little anemic for us(personal taste probably) We recommend this Dens fish bar.

Prices are good, but I'd rather pay a bit more for a larger piece of fish. Regular fish was very small, and the same with the chips. It was very well cooked and tasty.

Fact. The Fish and Chips were amazing. Fact. The Fish Bar is very popular. We had to queue for about 20 minutes to be served. Fact. Two large Cod and Chips were £16.80, but can I refer you back to Fact 1. Fact. Den must now be the richest man in Selsey now that Mr Bunn has vacated the area. Recomended.

Lovely fish and chips but unfortunately although they take telephone orders, tried ordering by phone but did not pick up, even when we arrived they were ignoring the telephone

My mum pre-ordered 13 meals of fish, fishcakes, burgers, wrap, battered sausage, onion rings and chips. The quality of the food was fantastic, my fish and chips was the best I've ever had, the fish was large and it was crispy but not greasy, absolutely delicious. Portion sizes were very good. All the meals were pipping hot, which was unexpected given the big order. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. I would 100% recommend Den's.

A good traditional fish & chip shop. Ideal after a day on the beach, bird watching at nearby Pagham, or sea fishing. Go and eat on the beach looking out at the Isle of Wight. Popular with locals so be prepared to queue!

Over the last couple of years tried a variety of chip shops and this has been slowly getting even worse than I found it originally. I find it strange you ask for fish and chips with scraps yet you can’t have scraps.! I also find it strange haddock isn’t fried. When there is only 2 shops to choose from you have to draw a line. Won’t be going back here again. Rather drive to Portsmouth.
