I go in dennises about 3 times a week for coffee and the most amazing pastys around. Thanku to Adam conchi Beverly and every one who works there ? they are all hard working and very professional . the chicken curry pastys and steak pastys melt in Yr mouth delicious food good price and excellent hard working staff thanku all I would never go anywhere else kim

Have been using Denis’s for years in village, Ruxley and Bexley Park. I will not use them any more. Of late prices have got ridiculous and some staff very arrogant. The little young chap in butchers with beard in particular. Use Clarkes in the Joydens wood shops for better quality, value and service.

Bought a Beef Wellington from Denis of Bexley which was dreadful. Will not be going there again. It was supposed to be fillet steak. It was tough and bits of meat. For £17 for two I would expect something much better.

Have gone into Dennis of Bexley many times over the years regularly as they have always been extremely good quality. However, I went in there a week ago and asked for a beef salad box. I was told they are not allowed to make the salad box anymore but I could have the same ingredients in a sandwich, which wasn’t suitable as I am intolerant to bread. I pointed out that this made no sense whatsoever as it was still being quite clearly advertised on the menu board. The staff merely shrugged! The only thing they could offer was a chicken Caesar salad in their pre-packed section which was absolutely awful. The lettuce was wilted, the croutons had all gone soggy and I had to dispose of it. At the same time we bought four lattes. They tasted awful, not what we had purchased many times previously. They actually tasted as though they had been made with powdered milk and upon opening one of the coffee, it was the most disgusting dark brown dishwater and nothing at all like a latte that we had paid for. I did an online complaint to Dennis of Bexley and surprise surprise, I have heard nothing back from them. Won’t be going there again

After moving 7 years ago from Kent to Essex still if over make the trip to Dennis always get at least £100-£200 stock up for freezer normally 4/8 times a year And love it great food fair prices and best taste Keep doing what you do and we will keep coming

I have always loved the food from Dennis and the service has always been great but it seems of late that customers (or maybe just me ) have to pack their own bags . I have always had my food packed by the staff and as I always order quite a lot it’s tricky to do it at the counter when it’s raised up too. Now if this is a covid issue I understand but they do wear gloves. Perhaps the owner would like to comment on this on the website and confirm that they don’t pack anymore , I actually get better service at londis next door .

I am shocked at the one review giving this butcher a bad review about his beef pie. I have a very fussy family and we have enjoyed every piece of meat, prepared meals and savoury meals from here. The staff have always been very friendly and helpful. We travel from Maidstone to Becley just to get our food from there. It was recommended to us and now we let our adult kids when we are going and they give us their orders for their families. The Lasagna is amazing, steamed steak pudding is delicious, sausages the best we ever tasted . Can’t wait to go for our Christmas food.

Just had a beef pie , steak I think they called it, stringy and tough drenched in pepper, totally inedible, even our dogs refused it.

Always loved Dennis’s but now I buy all my meat there. Yes it is more expensive but you get what you pay for and they wrap it all individually for me so I can freeze it and use throughout the month. Lots of choice and exciting options to choose from always excellent quality. It’s worth paying the extra. Last week I tried the chicken Kiev for the first time omg it was amazing! My son loved it too and he wouldn’t usually eat that.

Absolutely terrible service. They are rude and very unhelpful. I would avoid at all costs and would rather spend my money at Uncle Beef just down the road.

YUM YUM-the best food, best pies (not made with the usual 'mystery meat') and great service. Don't go for cheap and tasteless meat-that;s what supermarkets have, but if you want a real butcher, who cares about quality and care...well worth the extra! Sadly I can't eat the pies any more, they are one of the things I really miss! I can eat their lovely steaks and chicken so it's not all bad!

I reviewed this place a few years ago and wanted to see if there was a difference. I visited the other day to see if anything has changed or if they had made improvements and boy was I naive to think that. Went in wanting a prawn baguette to my surprise they now don't do a just prawn baguette but a seafood mix (why change this, when prawns by them selves were really popular) and on top of that they had run out. Bear in mind this was at around 11am so not even lunch time really and they have already no seafood mix. So I went for the pulled bbq chicken and oh yes you guessed it they had no pulled chicken in the end I didn't get anything as I thought it was ridiculous but my partner did, some sort of pork loin which was dry and just not good when it come down to spending a fiver for crap. So I won't be going back any time soon. But bear in mind this is just the sandwich section Im reviewing I have not brought food from the other section. Need to find a better butchers/bakery now.

We popped in for a couple of takeaway sandwiches They have a good selection of both hot and cold fillings Some nice hot and cold savoury food and a few tempting cakes We had the seafood mix and a very nice Belgium bun Stuff we're very friendly A little pricey but will use again

When Dennis was based in Bexley we use to visit more often. Now we use it at Christmas to buy especially Hams. They do a big range of high quality meat and associated goods - all cooked and processed on site

Yes I do like Dennis' at Ruxley Manor but in the matter of the cheese counter knowledge is lacking. The range of cheese is not that good but it would obviously be impossible to hold every variety. I have suggested Baron Bigod which is a Brie type cheese from Suffolk and also a cheddar with bite, something which is lacking, the cheddar in my opinion being bland and without a depth of flavour. The butchery department is excellent as are the comestibles, so there is hope.

All sorts of delicious freshly prepared hot and cold food, great staff and a fantastic butchers and very reasonable priced.

I am like a child in a candy shop, I never know what to buy next, the sausages are the only sausages my family will eat, the meat is a delight it can be expensive but then you pay for what you get in this case quality only thing is it is a shame the Ruxley Manor branch shut down as this was on my way home I have introduced many friends to the delights and they now shop there.

Love this place, fresh sandwiches are banging and also tried their ready meals at the weekend and were very impressed- far better than supermarkets ready meals

Denis's is the ultimate in all things meaty.Stop by for the best sausage rolls known to man kind. Fresh sandwiches. Hot meats from the deli, they even do a takeaway roast on Sundays. Needless to say their butcher's meat is outstanding. I have just returned from there , on the Sunday before Christmas, 3.30pm and it was manic. I spent way too much and could have easily spent a load more.Contrary to a few reviews , i have always found the staff really helpful, obviously a part time teen will no know all the shops intricacies, so ask the butcher !!!

Quality produce, but you have to pay for it. If you want a cheap pie filled with gristle go to a supermarket : come here for one full of proper meat and gravy. Everything I buy here, I enjoy - long may it continue. And , of course, you can park right outside!

I’ll now been there a couple of times each time the sandwiches have been freshly made and have been excellent value. Staff are very polite and helpful The only downside it’s not closer to home.

Excellent food and staff are always polite and friendly, we use Dennis of Bexley as much as we can when working nearby for lunch as their sandwiches and baguettes are top quality.

Oh god I've never tasted a better made sandwich. All made to order as you wait. Down side it does get busy and you can often wait 15 mins to be served but well worth waiting. Huge portions.

Qué decepción cuando llegamos a casa. La Ashmore era duro y rancio, había moho verde en el Stilton Blanco saturado y sabía el sabor normal o no Stilton fresco. El Sussex Brie no tienen un sabor muy agradable. No hace falta decir que todos fuimos en la papelera. En retrospectiva, debería haber tomado, y se quejaron, pero como no viven cerca de Ruxley no podíamos volver al día siguiente. Creo que necesitas para conseguir algo de dennis personal experimentado para cuidar su barra de queso!

Shop is always busy and queues out the door no matter the time. Produce and quality is great no matter what you buy. We have lunch from here weekly and always order our meat for xmas from here plus midweek dinners they do an offer 2 for £10. Best staff member is DONNA she is such a beautiful person, smiley, helpful and generous with her time and spirit. If my OH visits solo she always asks after me and makes a fuss of him. Dennis's are so lucky to have her and think she has been there a long time. Great shop

I LOVE the meat from here. Always delicious and reasonably priced! Don't think you can beat a local butchers.

This place may not be cheap but it is worth every single penny, I have had many cuts of meat and pies from here and every one was great would recommend to anyone

Always a delight although more of a naughty treat being that this is quality food at slightly adjusted prices to allow for the quality fresh ingredients they use. Whether you are looking for a quality home cooked pie sourced form a local farm, uniquely flavoured sausages or simply a nice fresh latte in the summer sun it's well worth a visit.

Great food and great value but what let's this place down is the kids serving (especially on a Saturday) don't take notice of who's where in the queue.Please allow people who want food on the left side of the counters queue separately to those wanting sandwiches and take out. (not the main meat counter queue)Surely you can work this out sensibly and have one person serving left and the others on the right.

I will always go to Dennis's when I am in their areas. You cannot fault anything! The quality of the cooked food & meat is excellent. I would rate them 10 out of 10!I purchased Dennis's food products for many years when I leased a hospitality suite at Brands Hatch. Never once did I have a problem or complaint. There is no substitute for quality food, you get what you pay for.

Don't get me wrong Dennis of Bexley does amazing food the problem I have are with the workers and the fact they can't make a sandwich. For years now I have gotten a large prawn baguette which is priced at just under £5. Over the past few months I believe that the staff have forgotten how to make a sandwich or they have had a stroke one of the two. The amount of filling that they put in the baguette is getting ridiculous to the fact now I have stopped going there. I don't want a sandwich that is only half full with hard bread. Not worth the money could easily go to my local bakery and get a sandwich for £2.50 with all the prawns I could ask for. I left this review on Facebook and they told me to send a picture and to this day I have still had no reply after sending that picture. I have a picture to upload that as you can see isn't full and it did look worse but I had to spread the prawn out just so I wasn't biting down on bread. So I warn you if you go for a sandwich always check its actually got anything in.

Went along to Dennis at Ruxley garden centre, the chicken Kebab with piri piri was really tasty, as was the rest of the kebabs what we purchased, at the moment they are doing a deal on the chicken/pork kebabs, if you buy 10 it costs £10.00 which is a good deal, or they are £1.50 each, the lamb kebabs are slightly dearer, but there is no deal on them.Also picked up a packet of 2 sirloin steaks for £12.99, they was also very tasty, there pork sausages was out of this world, never rated pork sausages like that anywhere.

I ordered a beef wellington for a special dinner party on Saturday. It was absolutely wonderful. The meat just melted in your mouth and so tasty. My husband has tried the Cumberland sausages and the caramelised onion sausages, which he said were really nice. I would definitely recommend this butchers. Good quality meat.

My family brought a double rib of beef for a Sunday lunch and we can all honestly say that it was the best bit of beef we have ever tasted! We also had some sausages with it and the flavour was amazing!

Measure takeaway rolls with tape measure if its the end of a baguette and its just too long will cut end off and chuck away, weigh fillings so you dont get too much

Such a good variety of food on offer plus also does lunch menu. Really is a place to shop when you fancy a treat or have a special dinner to cook

I have called in here for a takeaway lunch snack on a few occasions and the food has always been excellent. I like the attention to detail like the way they individually wrap your food in a quality wax type wrapping paper. You get what you pay for and for the quality of the food I have tried I think their prices are very fair and represent good value for money. The only slight negatives are that some of the staff look miserable and could do with smiling a bit more and there is always a long queue at lunch time.

I had a Christmas special baguette which was lovely. I use the deli part alot and always find the weekend staff a little less friendly, the staff in the week always have a smile and always are chatty. I don't use the butchers side as I do think it's a little over priced and get the same quality elsewhere.

Great pies and quiches plenty of choice including minted lamb and vegetarian choices. Enjoyed the sausages too.

Love this place! Excellent sausage rolls and baguettes and I love the butchers here. Staff are so friendly and helpful, I often have some "not the norm" requests and they always help me and and accommodate my needs I also love that they are experts in food - and give you some great ideas on what to do with the products!

Whenever I go past here, I always try to find an excuse to go in. Always enjoy a good pastie from here.

I have a small baguette with cheese and salad and it can't be beaten.. The bread is soft and crispy on the outside and the cheese is gorgeous. Always fresh and really tangy. Also always fresh veg. Would love sweet corn to be in the salad bar though!!! One thing I will say is that wish the line was shrter, always so busy! Which is good but if your in a rush for lunchtime not good. Maybe more sandwich stations or staff. Or even a call up and order in advance? Thanks

I have mainly used Dennis of Bexley for a lunchtime takeaway. They know how to charge, but the quality is good. If you have a ham roll, they weigh out the ham! Initially, that seems really mean. On the other hand, you can have as much as you want. I just found it a little strange.Staff are always polite, friendly and professional.

This is a high grade butchers/delicatessen. The food is of an extremely high standard and the range of fresh meat is very impressive. It also provides freshly made takeaway food and sandwiches etc. Obviously this comes at a price, just wish I could afford it more often

We are foodies and love decent meat at good prices and this is exactly what you get at Dennis the butcher! Their chilli chicken sausages are the best sausages ever and their beef Wellington is pretty damn good too. We grab a take away roll on a Saturday sometimes and the salt beef is great too.

We ordered a variety of food including tomato salad, bbq chicken sandwich and my favourite beef brisket wrap - hot!! All of which were served with fresh salad and made with the finest quality ingredients. The food like the home cooked ready meals is expensive but the sandwiches n wraps are only slightly more expensive than w supermarket but so worth the difference. We had their little custard tarts which are delicious. Quality of food is excellent price is fair for what you are getting. But the que at lunch time is why I knocked off a point, took about half an hour to get served. Saying that I would still continue to go there!

Got to big & quality is letting u down. Don't mind paying for quality but since you left Bexley village I'm not happy with the service or quality. Examples: defrosted homemade "scotch eggs" 2/3 years ago. Greek salad with no feta. Last week. Young kid serving didn't have a clue.Beef burger to dense & marinated lamb kebabs were not marinated. Sauced put on top of all your so called marinated raw food without being mixed properly & sauce is not made of fresh garlic & herbs. Sort your act out. Chef

I love this place, however it's an occasional treat for my lunchtime sandwich as it's expensive. That said the amount of filling you get in your sandwich is excellent and all fresh and very tasty with excellent quality meat.

This is a great butchers, but very expensive - but you get what you pay for! My wife will eat sausages from no other butchers and their caramelised onion sausages are the best. If you love garlic, try their chicken supreme joints - I could go on :-)
