Great evening yet again! Meatopia was a stunner, Wine was delicious, and the desserts are sublime. Always enjoyable to watch the chef at work. We will be back again soon!

The most wonderful discovery, what a brilliant place! A while since I went, I've been meaning to leave a review for ages ... Delicious food - amazingly prepared by a single chef when we were there! - a really welcoming, cozy atmosphere, service was perfect with everything served little by little, just at the right time, so we could enjoy it all without rushing. Highly recommend

Went downhill after the new owner. Watched the guy take a fridge door off because the stress was getting to him. Blamed a lot of his issues on his other staff when I’ve had to take out food that was raw still embarrassing really . Then had the audacity to just cancel my shifts 20 minutes before they started rather than just telling me that he let me go . And childish behaviour if he can give a good example of childish behaviour I would love to hear it I worked there for over a year with the old owners

Superb in every way. Ambience, food & drinks all superb. However, beware, they only accept cash or bank transfer & they don't tell you until it's time to pay. We were thrown into disarray a bit by this for a few minutes!

We dined here last night and was disappointed not to see anything related to Valentine's even a play on the menu would of been nice.Top marks too the lovely surroundings and excellent waiting staff.My hubby had a perfectly cooked Rack of Lamb and I had the Venison that sadly was hard too cut and even harder to eat has it was soo chewy! I left half and at £22 a pop was disappointing..Also the small ramekin of veg between 2 was a little tight too.We had a dessert each the only criticism there was the wedge of shop bought shortbread on mine that you expect to see in a pub not a restaurant..Overall a pleasant night that sadly could of been better..

We picked up a Tapas selection and it was amazing. The food is just so good. Can not wait to eat in the restaurant soon as restrictions are lifted. The best place to eat for miles.

Yet again another stunning meal had my Denman's, you never fail. The food you produce is outstanding and well worth the money. Also a nice little gift of a candle. It's the first time we have tried duck and lobster and they have become our favourite. The duck fell off the bone Can't wait for you to be back open again so we can visit you once again

Denman’s is our go to special occasion place, including our small covid secure wedding reception! The food, service and ambience, everything about Denman’s is excellent.

Just had a really lovely evening at Denman’s.... lobster ravioli starter and venison main delightful and very tasty. Staff fab ... felt very safe and will def be back.

We have previously heard such good things and finally got to visit this evening... We were not disappointed! I had the mozzarella starter, the smoked haddock main and the treacle and orange tart dessert. My partner had the duck spring rolls starter, the lamb rump main and the sticky toffee pudding dessert. Gorgeous food, a lovely intimate venue where you feel very welcome. We will definitely visit again.

Should have been in Portugal but due to Covid-19 had to stay in the UK. Thankfully Denmans is on my door step and we had an excellent evening. Every bit as good as our previous visit in August. Quality cuisine at reasonable prices. The staff are so polite and friendly which just adds to the evening. Lockdown meant we had to leave by 10pm. Hey-ho a small price to pay during these difficult times. Look forward to going again soon.

Denmans is a lovely place to eat. We have eaten there twice now and have been impressed with the food and service. It is cosy (we have eaten upstairs both times) and the ambience and lighting make you feel good. The service is friendly but unobtrusive. The food is generally excellent although our'pink' venison was rather 'red' and not quite s tender as it can be. But the rack of lamb was perfect. The starters, mussels and a sea food bruschetta, were tasty and attractive, and the Belgian chocolate tart was rich and luscious. Do try this restaurant. You won't be disappointed. Reservations only. The Covid 19 protections were good and the menu is single use.

Denmans opened early for us to have a covid safe family meal/reception for 11 after our eldest son's wedding on Saturday (3rd October 2020) Chris, Debs & Jess were as welcoming as ever & the food was as amazing as ever....thank you! 🥂

Having read the reviews i thought it time we paid a visit. Everything exactly as described. Great food, great staff and great place.Sunday evening so wasn't sure what to expect. Every table occupied so a bonus.Really can't fault the place.We will be back.Well done to all involved.

Last time I went to Denman’s was a few years ago - decided to revisit as very local and have read some amazing reviews . Food was delicious - had the sizzling prawns and chicken tikka poppadom basket to start with, followed by the Sunday lunch and lobster, finished with the sticky toffee pudding and cheesecake. Amazing food and good price . The restaurant really clean and taking COVID seriously . Will definitely revisit soon and highly recommend. Very impressed.

Recently visited to celebrate our wedding anniversary and another couple's birthdays. Good atmosphere, excellent food, made for a great evening to remember. Looking to go again in October to celebrate my birthday. Would normally be abroad but this year's unusual events means staying in the UK. I'm sure it will be another memorable evening.

Visited this weekend for our anniversary and once again it was one of the nicest meals I have ever had. We have been to Denmans on numerous occasions and as always never disappoints!! Can not recommend this place enough...what a hidden gem!! Crab starter was to die for so much fresh crab followed by the masala cod which again was beautiful!! If you haven’t been you must go!!! Service was exceptional such a lovely girl who served us. Can not wait to return. 10/10

Wow! Had a lovely evening at Denman's Restaurant this evening. The food was devine, the service was exceptional and a nice atmosphere. What more could you want? Give it a try, you will not be disappointed.

My partner gifted me a night at Denman’s for my birthday. After a disappointing experience at the Crab and Lobster for the actual day we were more than excited for our night out. We arrived for our 7.45pm booking and were shown to our downstairs table. Cosy and well spaced out and near the blackboard! I chose the tandoori chicken to start in a coriander basket and my partner the duck salad with rocket, melon and pomegranate. Both starters were beautifully presented and plentiful but light and leaving you ready for the main. I chose the 8oz fillet and my partner the lamb cooked two ways. I’ve had steak out plenty of times and cook it well at home but wow this was good. The peppercorn sauce was as good as I have had anywhere. My partner was equally impressed, washed down with a nice Pinot Grigio rose well priced at £21. The food is fab, what can I say but what makes this place is the staff. So many places serving food of this quality are pretentious and stuffy but this is quite the opposite. We had such a laugh with the staff who throughly made our evening complete. We were too full for pud but again they looked gorgeous. My partner had a whiskey to finish, again good banter with the girl who served us ( You’re the one that’s 20! And I’ll take 30 all day long )The bill came to just short of £100 which I consider well worth it for the quality of food. We are happily planning our next visit with friends and can’t wait to return

Not been to Denmans for a while due to lockdown so we were really looking forward to celebrating our Anniversary with a special meal we were not disappointed. Love coming here and trying new dishes The menu changes regularly and the food is top quality. The setting is intimate and the staff are warm and welcoming. I had lobster ravioli followed by lamb and my husband had goats cheese and beetroot followed by venison. We then shared a lemon tart with lime sorbet which was amazing just the right balance of sweetness and sharpness. Everything was beautifully cooked and thoroughly enjoyed. I can’t recommend this restaurant enough.

Went for the first time 28/8/20 after it was highly recommended, and we were not let down. We were made very welcome as soon as we arrived. The food was out of this world, Goats cheese starter and a trio of fish cakes starter followed by calfs liver and Venison with all the trimmings, then finished with Artic roll.WeWill def be going back.

My husband and I have been meaning to visit for a long time now as we live locally. We feel its so important to support local businesses right now and we will definitely be returning here to help do our bit.The atmosphere is fab, our waitress was amazing and very attentive. The food is beautiful, a fabulous choice of different dishes and really good portion sizes. I certainly didn't leave hungry and could have chose every single desert off the menu! We were both so pleased with our meal and experience and are so lucky to have such a gem on our doorstep.

We have been meaning to go to Denmans for some time, we saw lobster was on the menu and hubby was wanting to try the lobster thermidore, so we booked. Unfortunately the last lobster had gone just before we arrived, but hubby still managed to find something as the menu had lots of different things.We started with kiln roasted salmon which was delicious, and a huge portion, and the tandoori basket, the chicken was delicious and again a huge portion.Then it was steak, lovely sauce and well cooked, and plaice in a delicious lemon butter. Onto the pud, cheesecake was divine as was the chocolate tart. We have booked again for our anniversary, and hoping hubby can get his lobster!! If not we know there will be lots of other delicious things to choose.Highly recommend, service and food excellent.

Visited Denmans for the first time this evening. All three of us had three courses each and they were all absolutely gorgeous. The atmosphere was perfect and the service was above and beyond. It is the best restaurant we have eaten in for a while and have already re booked to go again. Would definitely highly recommend. Thank you to all staff.

We visited Denmans for the first time this evening! We used to frequent a wonderful restaurant locally , that has now changed hands and isn’t as good - so for many months we have looked for somewhere similar .Thank goodness for fb , we discovered Denmans!!!Simply marvellous! Visiting on a Sunday you have the choice of a fixed price menu ( with a fabulous choice) or/and the blackboard specials. We decided on the blackboard. We selected the mushrooms and tiger prawns starterFollowed by venison and plaice - mouth-wateringly amazing is all I can say ! Although no longer hungry we enjoyed the cheese and biscuits sharing board - what a fabulous choice of both crackers and cheese- asking for more crackers wasn’t an issue. Front of house was lovely and welcoming , the lady waiting our table was equally lovely ! We could watch the chefs work in the open pristine kitchen - all fab to see! And a wine list to sip your way through!All in all a wonderful experience - we will be back , thank you so much x

Visited last night excellent service & food Nothing too much trouble. Felt very safe due to covid restrictions & table to yourself for the whole evening. Gorgeous food would recommend. Do not hesitate to pay them a visit.

Our first trip out for a meal since lockdown and we couldn't have asked for a better evening. Service, as always, was friendly and efficient. The menu at Denman's is always a challenge because there are so many different dishes that sound fabulous but I have never had cause to think I have made a wrong choice as every meal I have had at Denman's has been terrific.The other thing about Denman's is that the prices are very reasonable for such high quality food - I never feel like I have overpaid. I'm certain that I would pay more for lower quality food in other, higher profile, establishments.The final thing I will say is that, at a time when social distancing makes some things seem more difficult than was previously the case, this evening was relaxed and as 'normal' as it was possible to be. Social distancing guidelines were in force, but didn't get in the way of excellent service and exceptional food.Thank you Denman's!

Took my family for a Sunday roast at Denmans, As far as they go it’s up there with one of the best if not thee best I’ve had, along with similar comments from my family!! Highly recommend this lovely place, Thanks to Chris, Debbie, Jess & the team who made the experience an all round brilliant one.

Friends recommend this restaurant and were kind enough to give me a gift voucher for my birthday.We were greeted with a very warm welcome by all. We both had filo moneybags. I had swordfish and my husband had venison. Finished off with cheese and biscuits. Our meals were delicious, the atmosphere was very nice also. We will definitely go back soon.

I have had the pleasure of dining in restaurants across four continents, countless cuisines and themes. Never have I been so blown away by a distinctly British menu, delivered prepared and served with an almost as distinctly genuine Yorkshire manner. Excellent.A true hidden gem. The salt and pepper squid competes with the same dish served in Cambodia, the spring lamb is to die for.Food aside, the service and atmosphere is so comfortable you struggle to leave. Perhaps the only flaw is that you feel disappointed when you have to go home.A final tip is to indulge in an Irish coffee before you leave, divine xFamily business isn’t often delivered with such excellence.

Visited Denmans for the first time with my husband and 2 friends. Food and service excellent. Tables set out at safe distance and hand sanitiser for customer use. Can't recommend highly enough and we will definately be back.

We both felt so comfortable back into a restaurant for the first time after lockdown. Debbie and staff are lovely , made sure we were comfortable and enjoying the experience of dining. Food is of high quality at £20 each for a 3 course Sunday meal. We definitely will be dining there on a regular basis. Thank you!

Just a 10 minute taxi from Halifax my wife and I had booked Denman’s for a Saturday evening while we were on a weekend escape. The menu is changed daily and on blackboards. Service was excellent. I had lobster raviolini to start and my wife had goats cheese fritter: both absolutely delicious. I went for the fillet steak and she had the venison. Both cooked to perfection! If you like your restaurants high quality but unpretentious you will like it here!!

We came with our 5yr old for dinner having made the trip to visit Eureka near by. This little gem of a place packed a big punch when it comes to the quality of their food and apporach to table service. The selection of wine was complimentary to their 'on the day' menu. I opted for rack of lamb whilst my husband went for the venison and my little one enjoyed a juicy sirloin steak. Wow! all our meals were very well presented, cooked to perfection and the seasonal vegetables were on point - fresh and cooked the way we liked it. Honestly, could not fault it. The waitresses were attentive yet not imposing, we like that they communicate with each other so that the same tables aren't 'checked' more than once which can be irritating from my experience, so again, well done! The whole experience was excellent. We've all agreed that it's worth the drive to return for dinner on a regular basis - given my husband's high expectations when dinning, believe it when I say that's saying something! Finally, pricing - no more than a chain restaurant and very reasonable. You are paying for cosy atmosphere with great service and awesome food thought. Worth it? 100%.

Well we went to Denman's, yesterday again , my husband booked it for Valentines evening so i was delighted and once again top food, (Chris is a brill chef) customer service Debbie and Jess are so lovely and friendly really make you feel good and relaxed, I really can't fault this little gem on our door step, it's really is the full package. Very reasonable prices as well. On our previous visit we brought a couple of friends with us whom we'd told about Denmans and they also really enjoyed the place. One of the unique things about this restaurant is the menu. There are no table menus, there is a large blackboard on the wall with the menu of the day on so every time we go it a totally different menu which is great so you never no what your going to be ordering when you get there. That can one of the downfall when you find a good restaurant the menu never changes, they may have a specials board but basically it's the same thing week in week out, and because of that your never sure if it's pre-frozen or how long it's been there. But not here it's about what's in season and such a good variety even though it's not a vast menu something for all tastes in my opinion. An once again we had the 3 courses just can't say no haha. So will we return. - too right we Will we're already booked In taking 2 more friends in a couple of weeks .See you soon Debbie & Jess xx

Lovely warm welcome again! Went here 3 days ago with my friend to celebrate my birthday..lovely food,plenty of choice..I particularly love the fish dishes -Masala cod was gorgeous and my friend enjoyed his favourite lamb dish! My dessert came embellished with 'Happy Birthday' in chocolate to my surprise,I was delighted!! We will definitely be going again as they make every visit special!!

Visited here again for valentine's day, and I must say it's become my favourite place to eat. Staff are really welcoming, food it out of this world and the whole ambiance of the place is just amazing. Already can't wait to visit again. Keep up the good work you's are doing a fantastic job
