Deli Gasta in Highland

We stopped in here for an early lunch and we were blown away. The food is healthy, fresh, delicious, honest food, done extremely well. Beautiful presentation and very friendly staff. Lovely atmosphere inside, with local crafts and candles on display. We had bagel, sandwhich, salad and baked potato. All very, very good. Vegan friendly. Yum. Wish they had more cafes around Skye!! Lovely coffee, great food, friendly service, take always. Even the dog got a treat. Places to eat outside on the grass, careful of the midges. It closes at 4.

So glad we stopped by on our drive from ferry at Armadale. Our parents saw the sign so we pulled in and its a gem. Takeaway only but there's benches to sit next to it (although beware of the midges near the stream). The fillings were absolutely delicious (we got venison salami with cheddar + a BBQ pulled pork 1) and the filling portion was really generous - definitely filled us for the day of sightseeing. Exceptionally friendly staff. Home baking looked good but we didn't buy any - we will next time.

We got coffees and bagels to takeaway for our drive south. Excellent, polite and friendly service. Lovely food with substantial filling. I can recommend the salmon and cream cheese bagel

A great stop off with amazing food in a wonderful setting with terrific staff. The food was to die for and the coffee was superb. We will visiting again very soon. Very dog friendly is a bonus.

Had travelled from Mallaig on ferry and needed some lunch, just drove past and thought it looked interesting. Amazing food and ,yes I agree with previous review, best hot chocolate. Good range of sandwiches which were well filled and very tasty

Called in on 19 May. Four of us snd three dogs. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The food was fantastic. Wonderful GF meal for me. A real treat.

We had 2 beautiful takeaways from the deli , my wife went as far to say it was the best hot chocolate she has ever had ! The sandwiches are fabulous too - recommended!!

We stopped at this cafe for lunch in our way to Portree. The food was pretty good, with a good combination of mains and desserts. The coffee was very good and the cakes were delicious. The staff was lovely and the place was very nice!

We were the first indoor visitors since reopening, following covid restrictions. The team did a great job of making sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Lovely food and good prices! We would return :)

A very small cozy local cafe. The bagel with avocado and honey must be one of the better bagels I’ve had. The Greek salad was delicious as well.

We had been on the island for 3 days and were heading home when we popped in for cake and coffee. Our waitress (not long back from Australia) was so helpful. A Cappuccino and a Latte, blueberry muffin and a slice of lemon drizzle cake. So tasty, served in lovely quirky crockery. The place has a lovely atmosphere. The toilet was immaculate. I can imagine this place being stowed out (non covid) during the summer months. They have outside seating next to a wee stream. It was busy when we were there even although it was a dull cool day. We will return for hot food on our next visit to the island.

We stopped on spec for lunch and this turned out to be a good decision. The staff were very friendly and chatty. We opted for fab crab and sumptuous salmon sarnies. Nom nom nom. And the dark chocolate hot choccie was the perfect dessert.Come here - you won't regret it.

Was so pleased with the female waitresses who where inviting to my family and dog. Helpful, friendly, kind and amazing. Food was outstanding. But and I am sorry to say a big but, I won't return after my daughter was eating her toasty, and I admit she is not the quickest eater, the plates where cleared away from us. Mid meal is so rude. It's such a shame they felt they had to rush us out.

Normally great experience was very poor yesterday. Waited 30 mins for a toastie which they had clearly forgotten as my coffee was going cold! Cappuccino v poor also towards the ones on previous 2 days. Clearly they were short staffed and people coming to take away hatch were being served ahead of those of us who were sitting down. No evidence of management. Really disappointed.

I visited Deli Gasta with my boyfriend for lunch and we were not disappointed. The menu had great options for a lighter lunch and we each had a wrap (one coronation chicken & one feta, avocado and pesto) which were freshly made and tasty. The staff were so pleasant and welcoming too. I would definitely return again!

Visited today and the great Glen venison sandwich was amazing. Service was first class. Will be back before holiday ends.

Magnificent crab sandwich. When you hope placing an order you get 8/10 but it arrives and is 12/10. Fresh bread and very generous crab filling with nice garnish. Smashing coffee. Cheerful and welcome service

Squeezed our family of 7 onto a table and we were all very impressed. Bagels, Soup, Sandwiches were all excellent quality and we were made to feel very welcome indeed ! They really made a fuss of my 7 year old daughter and treated her to a mini hot chocolate on the house ! We will be back (but it’s a long way from Newcastle !)

Stopped for a takeaway sandwich on a long weekend visit. Ploughman`s was delicious, as was crab and mayo on brown bread, yum yum. Service was excellent and very entertaining, sign promised good banter and Ruth didn`t disappoint what a delight, not just with us, a real star. A must, even if you`re not hungry.

My wife and I were looking for a spot a late snack lunch. Happened upon Deli Gasta and were delighted we did. It is simple, straightforward cuisine. A simple menu but the food is prepared to order and the service was excellent. Also work by local artisans is available. It was well worth our stop. Should we return to the area it is definitely a place we will drop in on.

Popped in for lunch with the dog, we were made very welcome in a very clean,well spaces out, kind on the eye establishment. Staff were welcoming, engaging in chatting about our stay, had a fabulous menu for a deli, and the food was tasty and of good quality. Couldn't ask for more, and will be back before we go home. Have a visit, you will not be disappointed.

We had an amazing dine in experience here, the brunch and coffee drinks are very yummy! Besides, the service staff are very welcoming and enthusiasm that make us felt so warm, here we would like to praise Ailean and Ruth ( the waitresses) for wonderful service. Highly recommend you guys dine in here, btw they also provide take away :)

Staff here are really lovely and the atmosphere is great! Food was alright and got our orders wrong but the salmon creme cheese bagle made up for it! Slow service for hot drinks.

Portions have drastically shrunk during lockdown. We are regulars. We took some guests there and the food was embarrassing. The bagels are half the size they used to be and the cakes have also shrunk. we will go back for the coffee but give the food a miss.

We visited at the end of our trip to Skye and had a lovely lunch. Two of our group are vegetarian and had no shortage of options; the cakes also looked delicious but unfortunately we were being good! The interior is beautiful and so picturesque. Especially in the current times, the service was great and all of the staff were so friendly.

We were recommended to try this place, and were very disappointed. We only stopped for coffee and cake (thank goodness). My “lemon drizzle” cake was barely acquainted with the eponymous fruit, and the drizzle had to be sought out by a magnifying glass - in fact, the whole slice was on the small side. My dining partner had some very average Victoria sponge, and that, along with two mediocre coffees to take out cost a whopping £12! Add to that a server who was so busy chatting to her friend that she had to be interrupted to serve us at all, and perhaps you can see why we will drive on by next time.

Dropped in for a lunchtime takeaway. There is a restaurant as well as the takeaway and there is adequate parking in front. It is only open during the daytime and is near the centre of Broadford.I had a wrap and my wife had a sandwich, both of which were very fresh, tasty and filling. The service was a wee bit on the slow side, but the kitchen looked busy and the food was being prepared as ordered. Not the cheapest but much tastier than I would expect from the supermarket nearby, so worth the bit extra cost.

Another great visit to Deli Gasta (is there any other type?) Our waitress was first class, Isla, and despite current challenging times, our visit was effortless. Well organised, great food. ‘Nuf said.

Stopped here for a late lunch and had the most delicious food - difficult to choose what to have, but we thoroughly enjoyed soup, a mega Greek salad, deliciously fresh thick cut salmon from North Uist and fresh crab sandwich. Excellent friendly service from Rhona and her friends who made us so welcome in this sympathetically restored building. We’d highly recommend Deli Gasta as a fabulous place to visit in southern Skye...

Had a trip to Skye and stumbled upon this wee gem. The staff were all so friendly especially Maddy and Rhona Both being very enthusiastic, great service and the best avocado bagel ever! Highly recommend.

Lovely smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel. So good had to go back a second time. Nice coffee and lovely location for sitting out and enjoying the sun.

We ate here a few times while on Skye and we were never disappointed, the salmon bagels are the best and their coffee is always on point, especially if it's made by Maddy! We'll definitely be back again!

After a long weekend of wild camping, Deligasta was the perfect pit stop before our flight back to London! We had been attacked by Midges in Neist point and got away early without breakfast, and randomly came across this place. It was instantly and warm and welcoming environment with friendly and helpful staff. We were greeted with smiles and seated in a nice spot next to some lovely art work on the walls! My Cappuccino was perfect just what I needed and the hummus & pepper wrap was delicious, and was a great item on the menu for a veggie like me! As I pondered over having a desert, I was guided through the cake section and was enticed by a delicious home made scone that comes with creme and jam. It was quite impressive, best scone I’ve ever had tbh. Next time, we come to Skye we are definitely coming back to visit, not only for the food but the warm friendly environment you need when taking a break from wild camping! Thank you!

Stopped by in a hurry as I was leaving the island for the day for work purposes. Ruaridh was very helpful, and the latte he made was superb. Can’t complain at all - excellent!

I’d been craving a nice chocolatey mocha throughout lockdown and couldn’t wait for Deli Gasta to open again so I could get my coffee fix. I’ve been several times since they opened and the coffee is always of a high standard and made exactly the way I like it. Special shout out to Maddy who made the best mocha I‘ve had in a very long time, all the staff were really nice. I’d definitely recommend Deli Gasta for their coffee as the service is great and coffee incredible. Ask for Maddy to make your coffee if you’re looking for an awesome mocha!

I always visit this deli when in Skye and cannot recommend it enough! Although, they are extremely busy right now (understandbly) the food still remains fresh and to a great standard! I felt very safe on my visit and the new take-away window is a great addition!

We swung into here at 10 am for breakfast on a Saturday morning & ordered coffee & scrabbled eggs for 4 people. We got the coffee & an hour later asked about the eggs which we were told they had lost the order . No apology- too busy taking take away orders & others money . This is run by a group of kids who have no idea what they are doing. Avoid

Visited when on Skye, place was a joke with everyone waiting. Ended up just getting drinks and that it self we an ordeal. Avoid

Visited with my fiancé for takeaway sandwiches and muffin! Food was super tasty! Service was a bit slow with a new member of staff being trained but hey we all need to learn somewhere! Salmon and cream cheese bagel I would for sure recommend!!

I will say, these guys have a great handle on COVID policies and safety. However, after waiting 20 minutes just to get a table (even though they were empty and disinfected!), another 10 to get a menu, and then to be told that they only served breakfast for the first hour of opening, we weren’t impressed. It only got worse, too - coffee was burnt and sad, and the sandwiches we ordered were dry and ice cold, so they’d been premade and refrigerated. This would be fine if they were quick, but they took another 20 mins to come out. Everything was fairly expensive, just to add insult to injury. I’m sure takeaway is fine but overall, this place should be embarrassed to call themselves a deli.

Went here for a late lunch with family at 14:30 on a Wednesday. We ordered several smoothies which were all good and we then ordered our sandwiches. They had run out of wraps so sandwiches were our only option which was slightly annoying. I ordered the feta and avocado sandwich and some of my family ordered the salmon sandwich and the prawn sandwich. However they had run out of prawn and salmon so they then ordered the crayfish sandwich which they also had run out of. The reason this review isn’t 3 star is because we were very late for lunch and therefore it is acceptable if they have run out of items. They then ordered the roast beef sandwich instead which was average. My sandwich was good and we wanted to try the piña colada cake. This was very good and was the best part of the meal. If you want to go to Deli Gasta, go during lunchtime! The service was friendly and it was a good experience.

Beautiful little cafe with amazing food. Would highly recommend pulling in if you've arrived on the island and fancy a refuel!!!

We had a lovely lunch of a wrap and toastie which both were really good. Gasta is a lovely wee building in the middle of Broadford, great location, right beside a wee rushing river (it was raining on the day we visited), and the only one thing I would say was that we waited for quite a while for the simple items we had ordered - but would still highly recommend as the place and food are great!

We stopped by for lunch having walked around Broadford and the hail setting in. The cafe is well signposted from the main road and has a big accessible car park. The cafe itself is in a wonderful old building but inside has a great modern feel. It was heartening to see local food featured so prominently on the menu, and the crab sandwich has to be the best I've ever had. Would definitely come back.

Stopped in for a bite to eat at 3:45 and informed they were only serving cakes and drinks although they advertise as being open until 5PM. We ended up ordering a hot chocolate but then told upon arrival that they had run our of cream. Overall disappointing.

We left Fort William before dawn to see the first morning's light on the hills as we drove to Skye. What views and what solace! The road was ours and no one else's . . . apart from the herds of deer which were very pleasant company. Shortly after crossing the bridge we came to Deli Gasta, hungry and ready to eat. It had sounded good online, looked good from the road and WAS good! Everything we ate was great and the shop had great local handcrafted items. We will never go to Skyp and not stop here.

We stopped here for a quick break at lunch. The food was great; the staff was friendly! The building is very rustic but wonderfully redone. I had a ham sandwich and hot tea and both were great! Our server was efficient and friendly. Recommended!

Stopped by for a takeaway whilst traveling through Skye. Courteous staff upon arrival to a what is a nice Deli. I went for a delicious Smoked Salmon and cream cheese wrap followed by what was the biggest, softest and tastiest brownie I think I have ever had, all this was washed down with a smooth but bold Americano. Recommended to me by a lovely young lady from Plockton and I am now recommending it to you all. Call in if your in the area, you won't be disappointed.

If your heading through Broadford, Deli Gasta is the place for stopping & enjoying a wide variety of homemade/fresh food & coffee. Have to say, we were particularly impressed with the warm welcome & genuine customer service that was extended to each of the customers.

Dying for a cup of coffee following the long drive up the A87 from Fort Augustus we spotted the cafe just off the main road, not long after crossing the bridge on to the Isle of Skye.

This was our second time here, first time was great prompt good service nice coffee and sandwich, Thai time around, we felt as if we were in the way, place was pretty quiet, we got our lattes and were nearly fiancés them when I went up to the counter to be told by the only only way I can describe this person was just totally grumpy, she said it was just getting made, not even close to cracking a smile we finally got the sandwich it was ok nothing special we ate and left said goodbye, but may as well have not bothered! Don’t think we’ll ever be back

Stopped by for a late lunch sweet treat, we both had large lattes with fruit scones. Service was quick and friendly, and the decorations of the building is very fresh and done well. Enjoyed the coffee but the scpne was a bit dry - we noticed on the way out too that other people had been given jam with their scones which we hadn't, despite this I would return.

Have visited here a few times in the past and did so earlier this week for lunch. I had the coronation chicken sandwich which lacked much taste and my partner the roast beef. This has Onion Chutney, Sundried Tomatos, Gherkins & Leaves but unfortunately the chutney was too sweet and soaked the bread and the sun dried tomatoes looked straight out of the jar and slimy. She tried to scrape the chutney off but it ruined the meal and most was left untouched. Not a good experience. Shame.

I eat here on every visit to Skye and really can’t complain. The food is great quality with fresh produce used, and the coffee is second to none. The place is always busy which is obviously a good sign! Would recommend everyone to eat here!!

Sitio basicamente de sandwiches. Llegamos y nadie nos atendio no invito a sentarnos a pesar de habernos visto esperando. Tras pedir, pagar y esperar 25 min por unos sandwiches fuimos a preguntar donde estaba nuestra comida y se les habia olvidado. Tuvimos que pedir nuestro dinero de vuelta e irnos sin comer. Obviamente, sitio nada recomendado

The setting and interior of this little cafe is lovely and the staff are very friendly. The produce used is a really good quality however the execution is poor. We ordered three scrambled eggs on toast. The toast and eggs were stone cold and the eggs were over cooked. The coffee is also not great in my opinion but coffee is a pretty personalised thing so depends what you like, but I found it really weak. On the plus side the coffee was served at the same time as our breakfast so it meant we could drink our coffee with our breakfast whilst it was still hot. Overall - poor quality for £28!

Beautifully converted old building, clean and stylist interior. Fantastic looking menu, eggs all different ways. Long lazy breakfast on a wet Sunday morning mid August after a few days walking, bring it on .. what? you ran out of eggs yesterday and are waiting for a delivery, really, Sunday morning, at the height of the tourist season and no eggs? This isn't in the remote wilds of Skye, this is 5 mins walk from the huge Co-op in Broadford, surely you could find you some eggs.

Went to this establishment for a late lunch. Ordered 3 crab sandwiches and some drinks paid £32.they were unable to provide the food ordered and we agreed to some changes. All the sandwiches were dry as no butter was used to make the sandwiches. Very poor and very disappointing. Would never return.

We stopped here for lunch today. Wonderful looking little place with plenty of parking. There was a line up when we got there. Food came before the drinks, and while it was nicely presented only 1 out of the 4 meals was really tasty. My eldest son who is a bottomless pit (14!) and eats anything, could only eat half his meal. The flavour profiles and seasoning needs work. A little underwhelming really given the lovely setting and good service.

Lovely wee place to visit on Skye, very very friendly people and happy faces, I ordered the scrambled eggs with avocados very nice for my taste buds, they waitress was so lovely, all in all it’s a very chill environment and lovely music not like the heavy rock these days I even got to Shazam some songs for the playlist home!!

Had a platter lunch to share which was very enjoyable and filling. The staff were pleasant and helpful. Service was 'relaxed', which I liked, but perhaps not to everyone's taste- especially if you're in a rush! But it was worth the wait.

My husband and I were staying in a holiday cottage nearby. We bought a takeaway salad and sandwich to take with us on a walk to the Fairy Pools. There was a bit of a wait but we weren’t in a rush. The food was made to order using fresh, good quality ingredients. There were lots of crayfish in the salad and plenty of chicken in the sandwich.

We visited here for lunch stop on the way off Skye. The selection of food on offer is great and when it finally arrived it was good. We ordered separately but with the food on one ticket. It took a while for the hot chocolate to arrive and we were still waiting for a pot of tea. Ten minutes later and after 4 other tables, who ordered after us, had been served tea we had to ask (twice) where it was before it got to us. The food took forever and it took 4 attempts of the waitress bringing us the wrong sandwich before they finally got it right! One of the four of us had finished before the last of us was served. Food was good but experience was underwhelming.

We came of the ferry from Mallaig and were looking out for somewhere to get a light lunch. Stopped here when we saw it. Has a car park. Really great sandwiches (vegetarian options as well) and good coffee and smoothies etc. So we made a point of stopping again a few days later on our return journey. Excellent again.
