Deli Fuego in Cardiff

Even though there was an empty table and there was no one waiting, they did not let me sit and eat because I was the only one. I couldn't have dinner because they would make more money than if a potential group of 3-4 people sat at that empty table. It wasn't booked because the guy asked me how many people we are :) and I said I am one, he said that no table for one , we are full :)

Where can I start the I orders a mix grill extra with a side of chips & rice for £2 waited half an hour came half warm with absolute no flavour apart from salt and pepper and Frye chips were steal with cold rice and hardly any salad food finished went to wash my hand shocked of the state of toilet no soap with the bum washer (jug) between the stinks and toilet seat lid on the floor , when paying manager did not ask how was the food or even bothered with us as he was ordering his staff to do things. Never again

Been going to deli fuiego since they first opened. Spent thousands on parties etc over the years. Today 20 of us went for a Eid meal which was pre booked. Went it at 6.30 came out at 9.30. Took 45 mins to get served, 1.30 hours for hummus and after 2.5 hours had mains. Main waiter was sarcastic throughout. Politely talked to the manager which I know. And rather than apologise kept making excuses. As soon as the rest of the table came to pay kept making more excuses. Just to avoid the feedback gave a discount and said he done is a favour. Would avoid waited 3 hours. Ruined a family meal. Food is decent but not worth the wait time.

So disappointed with the iftar buffet at Deli Fuego yesterday. It was a total mismanagement with very very poor quality food and service. A large number of seating was cramped in an utterly dilapidated hall (there was no room for anyone to walk around) with poor quality furniture, cutlery and utensils. The number of staff were minimal and they all looked terribly overworked. It was too crowded and too noisy, not a pleasant experience for a family outing - we couldn’t sit down without moving every 2 seconds to let people past, and we couldn’t hear each other talking at all. Iftar at the mosque is a much better experience and well managed than our experience at deli fuego. I would definitely not recommend anyone going there as the price is quite expensive for a really terrible service and food. We made our reservation on the phone, the man said foods, sweets and any drinks are all included within the price, only to be shocked that drinks were included in our bill. The worker said it may have been a misunderstanding but still charged us for the drinks anyway although the mistake was from their side. They charged £20 per adult and £8 per kid plus all the drinks. The price is definitely not cheap and I’d recommend everyone to go to any other restaurant on city road as you’ll get a pleasant meal with a good service for a cheaper price.

I went to deli Fuego for anniversary party. Best service in the cardiff. We ordered dessert and shakes. I changed my mind about shakes. I want banana shake instead of Oreo shake and they already made it for me but still they made another for me and they didn't charged me for that. Lovely experience. Highly recommend.

Gone there to try a few different types of cake before buying one for a party. Worst cake in Cardiff - tastes like an artificial defrosted cake, dry and no flavour. No cherries in Black Forest cake. When asked for the bill, the manager (Mohamed) started arguing and making a scene about the cake I did not want to eat 😂. I honestly just wanted to pay and go. This place is a joke, don’t recommend it.

Amazing service , good size portions delicious food, we were seated by the front door so it was icy cold everytime it was opened. The food went cold quite quickly was was reheated upon request. There were no other seats available for two. The cake select was scrummy

We were looking for an Indian mean and couldn't find anywhere open on a Sunday afternoon... Walked past this place, the smells were incredible and saw a platter of food through the window!! Went in and was wow!! Best accidental find ever, just go you'll love it.

Ordered a steak for £20, not including the extras for fries sauce etc.tiny steak and couldn’t eat it all as couldn’t chew through the gristle. I should have sent it straight back but didn’t want to make a fuss. When I did mention it to the manager his attitude stunk and offered half my money back. Ruined what should have been a good time. Never again going there.

Went to deli fuego on city rd cardiff last night with my wife and neighbours, (4 of us). After ordering our food, our starters arrives 2 of us had king prawns in breadcrumbs that were overcooked as the breadcrumbs were hard and dry, i said to send them back but didnt want no fuss, so ate them. The main meals came out t.bone steak that was fine, A mixed grill well what a total disapointment it was small portions and some of it burnt, 2 of us had the calzaghe pizza ( folded pizza) one of these being ME, what a rip off so small, i have being going to this place for many years with the wife and grown up children, for birthdays, anniversaries, or just a general evening out as a treat, as my wife and i work hard, AND TO TOP IT OFF I ASKED THE WAITRESS IF THEY TOOK BLUE LIGHT CARD AS I WORK FOR THE EMERGENCY SERVICES, SHE SAID YES " DO YOU ALL HAVE A BLUE LIGHT CARD" i said no me as im paying the bill, i assume she wanted to see 4 blue light cards, very unprofessional in my opinion.BUT WE ALL AGREE NEVER TO GOT THERE EVER AGAIN, after so many years of good food and service, deli fuego your standards have badly fallen, you have lost 4 customers tonight, something you cannot afford to do if you want to survive it business. Goodbye...

Great experience here. Food was delicious and our Lithuanian waiter (i didnt get his name) was brilliant. I couldnt fault the service at all, the waiter was so engaging and accomodating. I go out for food a lot and this is probably the best service i have experienced. There is a hell of a lot on the menu, bit of an identity crisis going on. That being said all food is at the highest quality and reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend paying a visit, i will for sure be returning!

20+ min wait until orders where even taken. Had to ask for water 3 times. Food did not all arrive at the same time. Waiter ignored me dispite looking at him. Manager also insulted me by saying I look 15 (I'm 21 with a beard, just short lol) in response to me stopping him from charging us on an item that never arrived. Wouldn't ever come here, the place used to be decent but management clearly don't have a clue what they're doing. I didn't enjoy my food as it was really bland but the pizza seemed decent.

Unfortunately a bad experience. Slow service (short staffed and not busy) and condescending management (who wouldn’t assist their staff) with no people skills. Tried to cancel due to slow service wasn’t allowed to then they also tried to avoid the student discount (‘oh it’s only on food not on dessert’). Poor value for money (5 tiny macaroons for £6.95) Charged twice because of faulty payment system but later one refund did come. But ultimately the attitude of the management was appalling. Deli fuego was not what we expected.

Good food, friendly staff, always used to come and check if we need something. Portions are great, worth the money. The mix platter was really good. They do have a wide range of desserts.

Used to love coming here for the Prawns and chicken wings. But they have changed the Prawns starter and main. The main prawn dish was dry and tasteless.

Lovely restaurant. Would totally recommend the Chicken Mushab as it is excellent! The staff are really friendly, we've seen one waitress a couple of times and she always takes time to ask how we are! The only downside here are the deserts. They're not bad, they're just not as amazing as the starter or main menus! Oh and a few spelling mistakes on the menu!

Food was good. Portions were really good and the food was tasty. Owner came up to check on us which is always a plus. The venue itself is a bit confusing though. There's too much going on is it a cake shop? Is it a pizzeria? Don't know it's just Deli Fuego. The venue is the only reason it loses a star definitely worth a visit for good priced food.

Food was excellent, portions were great and price was reasonable, my with has severe gluten allergy and they just were not 100% on it. Our main concern was the cross contamination which occurred with ice cream, it was quickly changed. Over all a very pleasant place with great food, great facilities and friendly staff.

Not sure what has happened here, a few years ago this place was really good. The waitress who served us was rushing and wasn't very attentive, but then again she didn't have much help. The fuego wings were terrible, they were the smallest wings I've seen and no way was that a main portion. The sirloin steak was extremely bland, it was a good size however it lacked any flavour. Overall was really disappointed, I'm not sure what has changed.

Where can I start? First of all, the welcoming was horrible, they looked like they didn’t even want to welcome us into the restaurant. Then they had us waiting for a table although there were a few tables available. The waiter looked like she was over worked so the attitude and service was extremely forced and rushed. Whilst eating she would come over and say are you done? Are you done? As if they were expect a lot of people, ( although it was empty). My husband ordered a dish which you can clearly tell has gone off a couple of days ago, there was a horrible smell and the taste was disgusting. He did not eat it at all and when the bill came he was forced to pay for it. When we complained that the food was untouched and uneaten, the manager said give them 30% off which was absurd! Me and my family have been coming here from years but after that, it was the last straw. The cakes are disgusting and the decorating always falls off and it has discoloured our teeth. Very sad and disappointing! It has left us displeased and frustrated. Thank you but no thank you, we will never step one foot in this restaurant again.

The star of the show here was the whole sea bass, we thoroughly enjoyed it and would go back for that alone. The 5 stars is given purely on the basis of this dish. The king prawns were tasty, albeit a very small portion with 4 prawns. The Pizza was average, something was not right either with the dough or cheese. Steak was okay, and the peppercorn source was good. Staff and management were pleasant, but they missed key things like cutlery and straws etc which we had to ask for. Atmosphere was abit dull, but that’s perhaps we went towards the end of their opening hours. Try it if you’re in Cardiff.

The cake which I bought from here was excellent Please change your opening time on google. One of the very friendly staff opened the door for us and give the cake because we reached there at 9.00 as per the google timing Shops open only at 10.00. Friendly staffs but they charged me extra for adding extra toppings but unfortunately I couldn’t find anything extra

I always order from deli Fuego cakes and always something happens. This time I ordered a cheesecake slice and found mould in it. Everytime we preorder cakes we get hair in them as well. I’m not sure why they don’t just be extra careful and actually care for their customers.

We celebrated our graduation there. We had dinner and the food was delicious. We also had a cake which was very tasty and beautifully presented. The service was also great. We enjoyed the atmosphere. A bit noisy but because of that we could also talk loudly with each other and enjoy it.

I was looking for a halal place to celebrate my son's graduation. The booking was easy and then I ordered the cake online from their bakery. I would recommend this, as it was just so simple. The venue is good, and the food was tasty. One small point if you order the platters but are on a long table, it might be best to ask them to split it into 2 halves. We had a really lovely afternoon. Parking is however a bit tricky so maybe a cab would be better.

We had a wonderful family dining experience at Deli Fuego. The Chicken Musahab was tender and smoky, and the Lamb Kufta was flavorful. It was a memorable experience thanks to the impeccable service provided by the staff

Attended for a wedding - - As a guest I asked what drink options they had as I was looking for red bulI, I was told 'we are Italian' with such rudeness and attitude. - Spoke to the owner ' Mohammed' he was telling me he is the only Mohammad. When there many other Muslims with that name ( not sure if anyone has told him ). He raised his voice, refused to give me a receipt of payment even on a piece of paper. He was rude, arrogant and misogynist as he did not respect me as a guest,or as a Muslim woman on my own talking to him. I have never been spoken in that manner, as a consumer it is my right to ask for a receipt of payment, but he refused. When i said i would inform him of trading standards he asked me to invite them for a meal. The women who work there are so kind, and amazing a lot of respect to you all. However the men are typically rude men who have no respect for women. They needed prompting to clean the venue, the stress they put on the bride and her family & friends. They put creased table cloths on on the tables, and refused jugs of water to be provided. This venue has potential but this man's arrogance and pride is like fir-awn. I don't recommend any functions upstairs. Everything is falling apart, with no maintenance.They are not accommodating (the men AND MOHAMMED) Mohammed you are not the only Mohammad. Treat customers with kindness and respect. Learn about consumer rights. Please learn manners to speak to women. If you want some counselling, let me know i will give you some free sessions because you need help!

We just got our civil ceremony done, came to this place to have food to celebrate our civil ceremony . Unfortunately, the manager was quite rude, did not offer as any replacement nor took any responsibility. Very bad experience

Deli Fuegos: A Mediterranean Feast I recently had the pleasure of dining at Deli Fuegos, a Mediterranean restaurant located in Cardiff. I was immediately impressed by the warm and inviting atmosphere. The restaurant is decorated in a rustic style, with exposed brick walls and wooden beams. The tables are well-spaced, and the lighting is soft and intimate. The menu at Deli Fuegos features a wide variety of Mediterranean dishes, including kebabs, pizzas, and pastas. Fantastic selection of desserts.

Went for lunch yesterday, and the food was outstanding. Had the mixed grill, which was cooked over coals so had that nice bbq/smoked flavour. Really impressed by the quality of the food and will definitely come back.

One of the best restaurants in Cardiff. We tried everything from starters to desserts. Everything was perfect! The quantity and quality of the food was very good, with reasonable prices. You definitely get what u paid for. All staff were friendly. Waiting time, after ordering, was only 15 minutes. Their cake are so soft and delicious as well. Would go there again a hundred times. Highly recommend it.

I went there and asked if there macarons were fresh and they said yes, when I went home and took a bite it was disgusting!!

Stayed in Cardiff for 2 nights, had amazing very reasonable priced meal on first night that we went back again following night, 2nd night didnt disappoint. Staff remembered us. Very friendly staff and food freshly cooked but no long waiting times. Would highly recommend.

The food was outstanding. The flavours and meat was cooked to perfection. The birthday cake that they made for my daughters birthday was also incredible. It looked beautiful and tasted amazing. Would highly recommend their food and cakes here! Look forward to returning.

Oh my god!! Best cake I’ve ever had!! I don’t like icing so my partner bought me a ‘cream/butter cream’ Victoria sponge cake and wow! Lightest cake I’ve ever had, the cream was insanely good, light not sickly at all and the filling choices were extent! Would not recommend this place enough! Even the photo ontop of the cake was butter cream! Thank you so much to the gentleman that made this and served us

Update: I won't buy anymore at this store... selling cakes with mould. That's disgusting... they don't bin the food when they should. If they do this... what else they could do? I use to buy the cakes here but they just lost a custumer forever.

My first time frequenting. I was very enamoured by the ambience and also the quality of the cuisine. Nothing was to small for the staff to expedite. All in all a lovely experience. Would highly reccomend for group and family. Good value for money too. Thank you for a lovely evening

It’s good restaurant as a food but really, they are not polite at all in welcoming the customer. I have two bad experiences. We do not come there only to eat, but also to make beautiful memories and spend a good time. The bad reception that I encountered from them really made me no longer want to come there.

Roomy place with very attentive service. Food a bit on the british side of mediterranean so adepted in a good sense (med local guy). Next table were a birthday party. You might try on your "B". Cake recommended. Cocktails leave room for improvement (imho) ;)

Brilliant restaurant, amazing people, atmosphere and place to be. I loved spending multiple milestone birthdays here and big celebrations with family. Halal option too and can take bookings in advance. The staff completely went out of their way for us as a family to ensure we had the best experience. We cannot thank them enough and this review is the least we could do.

I purchased a Red velvet cake for my friend's birthday, and it appeared to have been stored for a long time, with the sponge being very hard and the cake being very dry. It used to be my go-to spot for any cakes, and they were fantastic. Please do not cut corners.

Ordered a Strawberry Sundae and some strawberries covered in whipped cream came on a plate. Nothing like a sundae. Not impressed. Also when I put my hand up for the bill a member of staff looked up to smile at me (sarcastically) then looked away dropping his smile instantly but I saw that side of him too as I haven't yet taken my eyes off him, I felt I had inconvenienced him!

Ordered a cake for my 5 year old and i picked up a 10% off voucher on my way out. When i came back 2 days later to pick up the cake i was told that i couldn't use the 10 percent off voucher as i could have picked it up on my way back as it wasnt filled in. Absolute shocking customer service

I've been ordering cakes in Deli Fuego for the past 3 years since when I ordered the first one and was amazed with it. They never disappoint, amazing customer service and the cakes are soo delicious and always fluffy and creamy, not dry at all and always fresh! If you need cakes, I highly recommend them!

Ate here recently. Family meal. Ordered a cold mezzo and platter. Food was burnt and overpriced. Also poor waiters asking every 2 mins if food was ok.(managers fault not waiters).spent over £65 and was still charged for balloon for my 4 year old daughter.

i’ve been going to this place for 5 years now but this experience was the worst by far. Food was not the same as previous time we came here. The floor manager decided he wanted to bully us off the table before our deserts and tea ( WHICH WE ORDERED) came to our table then had the cheek to ask for a tip. I was so embarrassed as i had invited people from out of cardiff and raved about the place. You can get this type of food anywhere else which has better quality and is cheaper and less arrogant . I will never come back

This place is one stop shop for all your cravings, right from dessert, fresh juices, Italian, Mediterranean and coffee. They have the best Mediterranean food, the lamb kabab, whole chicken, hummus, falafel, everything was excellent in taste.
