Deli Ecosse in Stirling

I was on a vacation in Scotland trying to find something Vegetarian and I was blown away by the hospitality from the people working here when I got there. The main server lady literally said "I just want to make sure you get vegetarian options and eat well before you leave us". Such a lovely lady, I'll forever remember this humble nature.

What a lovely place, staff were very quick and on the ball. Myself and my partner order baked potato’s, I have never in my life seen baked potato’s so big. Food was delicious and it’s clear they put a lot of time and effort into the ingredients they use. Can’t recommend their hot chocolate enough either, I’d drive from Glasgow daily for that hot chocolate. Place is small and cosy, so if you want a seat be quick or you’re missing out on a good meal. Very traditionally Scottish inside and loved all the little jams and biscuits around the place for customers to buy.

We visited for lunch for the first time today after reading tripadvisor but also as Mhor Bakery and another coffee shop were full. We wish we had went to one of the many other places instead and left feeling we’d picked the worst of the lot! Service was friendly and quick but the food was very average at best. My husband had scrambled egg on toast with the egg barely filling half of one piece of toast. The bread was basic supermarket sliced white and not appetising at all. I loved Callander but would never go back here

Just realy nice food in very pleasant surroundings.

The best vegan lemon cake ever! Had to resist going back for another piece. It was a beautiful day, so I got takeaway - delicious soup and vegan options. Lovely, cosy atmosphere too. Definitely coming back. 😊

Beautiful cafe always stop for breakfast on route up north

Very nice spot for a great meal. We really enjoyed our stay here. The multitude of choices is up to your own. Everything is freshly made and well served. The people were very kind to us. Thank you all so much we would recommend you and are happy to see you again.

Great little restaurant run by very friendly people with great food

Can't comment on food except for cakes which were lovely. Good force too. Service was friendly and staff seem geared up for covid. I guess it's a choice many people make now. Will return especially as it was open until 5 unlike many other cafes at this time of year.

The food was fine, but all the staff are wandering round with masks that cover their mouth, not their nose. It's all a bit disconcerting.

Very cute and cozy little café. I liked that they have a great variety of dishes to chose from including vegan cakes! It was a perfect finale to a wonderful hiking tour.

We have been visiting Callander for years and we always try to visit Deli Ecosse at least once if not more. So pleased to discover, after an absence of 5years ,that it is still there and as great as ever. This kind of consistency is remarkable, love it😍. Back again and it's still great, love to visit for breakfast 👍. Still great, excellent breakfast yet again 😁👍.

Called in here after reading reviews, for takeaway bacon and egg rolls and tea which we took to eat by the river. They were freshly made to order, hot and delicious! Lovely little cafe which serves fresh home made food - marrow and coconut soup was on the specials board - which sounded delicious! Very popular too!

We are usually in Callander once a year and 'Deli Ecosse' is always visited , this time for breakfast , big breakfast for me and roll and tattie scone for the wife with tea for two , everything was lovely and nicely cooked , I would maybe say the 'big' breakfast was prob just a standard 2 bacon a sausage then egg black pudding tattie scone tomato and some mushrooms , but plenty enough for me , pretty sure we'll be back in Callander and pretty sure we'll be visiting Deli Ecosse 😀.

Such a great find. A small little cafe bursting with character and serving an amazing breakfast. As well as food the place has many yummy things to buy from sauces to honey to cheese and wine. The staff are very friendly and make you feel so welcome. Well worth a visit

I talk about this place all the time. Their tomato and pepper soup with a haggis and cheese panini would honestly be my last meal on earth, if I could choose

What a lovely place, I would definitely recommend this cafe! We went here twice; we really enjoyed their cakes. The prices are really good and the staff is friendly. Lovely ambiance.

We didn’t get the chance to eat here. Arrived at lunch time and was immediately told by woman behind counter no free tables. We asked if we could wait and was told ‘No’ in a most unfriendly manner. What a way to welcome visitors!!

A lovely breakfast after a mornings ride!

Die Öffnungszeiten sind in diesem Café besonders für Frühaufsteher sehr interessant und auch die alten Gemäuer, in denen sich mal eine Schule befunden hat, ist sehr imposant. Der Service ist gut aber leider war bei meinem Frühstück der Speck massiv verbrannt und schwarz. So etwas kann jedem mal passieren aber dann darf ich das auf keinen Fall dem Gast servieren! Dadurch war natürlich das Frühstückserlebnis aus meiner Sicht sehr getrübt. Sicherlich ist das nicht immer so aber für mich bleibt dadurch leider ein tendenziell negativer Eindruck dieser Lokalität hängen!

Don't be fooled by the unassuming exterior, this is a bit of a hidden gem. Very reasonably priced coffee and cake - we had a lovely scone, coffee & walnut cake, latte and americano. The staff were really friendly and a great selection of products (jams etc.) to buy too.

Lovely cafe/deli. Food is made fresh and cakes look home made. Pleasant to sit in, with a huge log burner that must be very cosy on the winter. You can purchase anything from Smoked Cheese to Salad dressings, Chutneys, Jams and much much more. The staff are very friendly and helpful. A must visit if you're in Callander.

We had a lovely toasty & cup of tea, sitting outside the shop. Julie was as attentive as always. We will be back & highly recommend!!

Visited on the basis of the reviews on trip advisor and we were not disappointed. We visited around 12.30 on a Saturday afternoon, there are only a few tables but we didn’t have to wait, we got the last table. I had the big breakfast came with toast and tea/coffee. Although it said big it wasn’t, however I felt it was perfect portion size and cooked perfectly and not greasy. My husband had a panini and soup. I have to say the soup was perfect too, tasty, perfect seasoning and it tasted homemade. They had a cake cabinet advertising home made traybakes and sponge cakes although I didn’t have one they looked amazing. Staff were friendly and helpful. Don’t walk past this quaint little place.

We just stopped in Callander for breakfast and walk up the High Street and found it , been there for ages never seen it . Cannot recommend it enough amazing , you may have to reserve or wait …. Get there early for their fabulous breakfast and coffee

We just love Deli Ecosse. We're locals and any time we're out in Callander this is where we eat, whether it's to get a wee coffee and a gluten-free scone (devine and home-made by Julie the owner), or for a bigger lunch. Service is always kind and friendly, the food never disappoints. Everything is clean, including the toilet with baby-changing facilities. There's no bother if our toddler is a wee bit noisy for a moment, and there's toys and books available for him to use, clean high chairs and the staff are always friendly with him. Lovely to have such a welcoming café locally to us, and the provision for gluten-free dietary requirements is fab. Thanks Julie and all :-)

1/5 poor poor breakfast, looked at previous reviews which made this cafe seem excellent for breakfast. Potato scone burnt to a crisp, mushrooms seemed like they had been boiled, no seasoning. Sausage was soft, couldn’t cut with knife just fell apart. Awful experience.

This is a hidden gem, off the Main St. at the side of the church. Had great soup with bread when I arrived in Callander and then a good breakfast the following day. Lovely place to eat and great staff.

When visiting, this is our go to place for a quick lunch. Nothing too flash, soup, sandwiches, jacket potato's and my personal favorite... Full cooked breakfast. All of these are prepared fresh and are excellent. Seating is limited, so it can be a bit of a disappointment at lunch time if you time it wrong, but we love it and its worth a short wait if a table is becoming free. UPDATE: having returned after a few years we couldn't wait to pop in to Deli Ecosse, and I'm pleased to say it hasn't changed... It's still as wonderful as it ever was. Breakfast was great!

This is an excellent place for a quick snack. Seven of us were adequately accommodated. Service is excellent. Very pleasant staff. The coffee is good! Deli options on sale are an added attraction.

Small inside with only 6 tables and I would say normally filled.No problem on my visit I was directed to a freshly cleaned table by lady wearing a mask as were the servers.Coffee and a very nice,tasty hot roast beef toastie.Menu in photo is March 2023 prices.

Absolutely top class munch. Asked for a bacon sausage and egg doubler and a cuppa tea and got two rolls with sausage egg and bacon. Absolutely NOT dissapointed, filled me right up, and the staff were lovely. Me n the misses will eat here every time we pass thru. Top marks

Delicious all day breakfast and very accommodating, had a few changes to the order that were sorted no problem. Lovely hot chocolate too, and fast, good service. Very reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend for breakfast/lunch if you are visiting or passing through Callander.

I'm a retuning customer in the Deli Ecosse. Today I had the best ever French toast with beans and bacon I ever had. I'm always satisfied with the food and a customer service. My favourite place to have a nice breakfast in the town. 5* from me for sure.

We were up in Callander for a couple of days , and 'deli ecosse' was our 1st pit stop , breakfast then coffee and cake later same day , all lovely

Establishment that does not try to hide their disdain for tourists. We had a quick stop and tried to avoid the crowds. Came here because of the reviews and was disappointed. I understand that the food is cooked fresh and takes awhile, sure. I ordered a coffee and a chocolate bar, then asked if there was a restroom on site for my mother to use. The person who rang us up stated there was only one bathroom and that it was occupied. ("Sorry!"). Walked into the restroom- definitely was not occupied 🙄. If you're just passing through, do yourself a favor and avoid this establishment.

Lovely cafe with a great selection of food to sit in or takeaway all reasonable priced. It's in a side street next to the big church in Callander. Well worth a visit.

This cafe is a little off the high street which means it escapes being overwhelmed by the bus loads of tourists that arrive at the other end of town. However, it does only have 4 tables (set for 4) which meant I had to try a couple of times to get in. I timed it right on the second time and it was well worth the wait. The big veggie breakfast presents excellent value and was beautifully presented with a hot chocolate and two slices of toast with individual pots of jam and marmalade. Service was prompt and the food piping hot and tasty. I would seek this place out again when I'm next in the area. I visited on a Sunday at 10AM.

Stopped by for a coffee but had to add scones with jam and cream. As one of us is GF, we were surprised how delicious the GF version was. Staff were excellent, with our server running outside to deliver a coat left on our chair....

Excellent ..really good food freshly prepared at very reasonable prices. Welcoming and friendly staff do their best to make your visit a really good experience. A good range of cheese milk eggs and wine etc on sale too. The best in Callander. The Deli continues to shine with its home cooked meals and baking all at very reasonable prices.

Quirky place with exceptional coffee and cake. You can buy the coffee beans too.

Nourriture très moyenne, je trouve dommage que dans une épicerie fine ne soient pas proposés des ingrédients plus qualitatifs (par exemple est servie aux clients du café de la confiture en gelée industrielle alors que dans l’épicerie sont vendues de vraies confitures locales), les assiettes de petit-déjeuner sont médiocres, nous avons aussi pris un scone qui lui était bon. Pas cher, mais pas qualitatif.

Called into Calander on the way home from holiday. First visit. Pleasant deli/café. Polite, attentive and cheerful staff. Quality toasted sandwiches and coffee. Reasonably priced. Cakes looked very good but we had not space. Noted staff cleared tables and cleaned them as soon a vacated....

Visited this morning for coffee ended up with two breakfast rolls and pot of tea for two. Great prices. we thoroughly enjoyed ,Friendly welcome and service from young staff. Seems very popular with locals and visitors such as ourselves. When in Callander we usually go...
