Del Toro in Lisburn

Our family didn’t enjoy del toro food. It was burnt, hard and tasteless. Plus we had to wait for about 30 min to be served. Service is lovely and helpful.

I'm utterly disappointed with my recent experience at this place. Firstly, their displayed opening times are completely inaccurate, leading to wasted time and frustration. As if that weren't bad enough, when I attempted to enter during their supposed operating hours, a staff member rudely pulled the door closed in my face, completely ignoring my presence. It's appalling that such ignorance and disregard for customers exist in any establishment. Save yourself the headache and avoid this place at all costs.

Do not eat at little del toro in hillsborough food was awful and the service worse. The owner was there and did not even notice we waited almost 30 minutes for food that was basically inedible. Horrible place.

Not very customer friendly the girl at the counter when we were trying to pay wasn't very helpful in fact pure ignorant and unhelpful won't be back food was nice but she was pathetic

Took approximately 45mins for our starters to arrive. After that, it was roughly an hour before we got our mains. The kids got half a pizza and they were burnt and rubbery. Me and my husband got burgers which were also burnt. Not worth the ridiculously long wait. Thank goodness we had a voucher. We won't be back, and we definitely don't recommend it.

Poor service arrogant management when we complained about waiting 1 hour for main course said they were busy paid the bill no apology only arrogance because we complained

Extremely disappointing experience. We had booked a table. Drinks came after 20 min and order was wrong. After 45 min still no starter so I went down to ask if we could just go straight to main course. No apology given but was told they would tell kitchen. Arrived up with (cold and stale) starter a few min later and argued with us that it hadn’t been 45 minutes. My husband went to speak to them again after the appalling way we were spoken to at our table, still no apology, he cancelled our order and we had to pay £40 for starters and drinks that were wrong. No apology, no explanation, no customer service. We left extremely disappointed and quite frankly annoyed. Worst experience in a long long long time all round.

Great meal with family, friendly staff were bit expensive but reasonable value. Atmosphere a bit cold.

I booked the table for me and my fiance to celebrate our engagement, and I place the note during reservation. We were just sit on random table beside reception, to be honest I expect some nicer table, the most that was many empty. Food was very disappointing - well done steak was burnt, and pork belly was very hard. Staff were nice, even when trying to explain that well done steak will be hard and burnt. We've got discount voucher as after 40min we decide to leave place and nearly full plates, but we will never use it, to be honest we don't know why we even take it.

Beautiful meal and the staff were absolutely brilliant

A group of 12 had a Christmas feed here. Service was great and the food was so good. We all got the sharing platter which was sensational. Everything was cooked to perfection and very tasty. The ribs and chicken wings are fantastic. Great value for the amount of food you get. All washed down with beers and cocktails. You have to try the platter!!!

Highly recommend Del Toro, we had a delicious steak (best I have had in years) & the service was also outstanding too. We will 100% be back again 😊

Without a doubt the worst experience we have ever had. Pre booked a table for 5 for dinner on Saturday evening and when we arrived they didn't seem that busy. We were shown to our table relatively quick. We then had to sit there for around 20 minutes until someone came to take our food order. I was a bit surprised that there was only 2 steaks on the menu unless you gave 24hr notice.We then had to ask could we order a drink. It wasn't a difficult order 1 beer and 4 Fanta. We waited a further 15 for the drinks to come which were wrong also the glasses were disgusting with lipstick and previous drink residue on them.we eventually got all that sorted and the food came. I had ordered a mixed grill which was £28 I asked for my steak to be cooked medium. The plates were literally just in front of us 2 minutes when a waitress came and asked was everything OK. As I began to work my way through the food I eventually got to the 8oz steak which was very well done and extremely hard to chew so it was left. When everyone had finished they came to clear the plates and I told the waitress that I had asked for medium and not well done and to my surprise she immediately got on the defensive asking did someone come and see if everything was OK I told her yes but it was just after the food was brought. 2 minutes later the owner of the place came out of the kitchen with my steak on a small plate and proceeded to tell me I was wrong and that that's the way a medium steak should look but there was not even a slight tinge of pink. He then started to tell me that I didn't know how steak was cooked. I then mentioned the glasses and he said didn't they get replaced so what's the problem. At this point t my kids were getting pretty upset so I just asked for the bill so we could leave. To be honest it was very intimidating to have a well over 6ft man stand over you arguing over a piece of steak. I definitely would not recommend this place to anyone.

Disappointed at the price, ordered two steaks albeit they were £30 each didn't mind as I heard great reports BUT came with no sides so had to pay extra for chips onion rings and pepper sauce, bill came at £104 for two people, rang the following day after reviewing receipt and was told that's just the way it is, when I advised I wouldn't recommend I was told grand that's your own perogative , so needless to say with that attitude I won't be back and won't be recommending 😀

Did not try the food, service was awful we were told they had a table but that we would need to leave in an hour due to table being needed. Decided not to stay, had a look at the menu were given several different ones. Horrible not sure I will bother to try again!!

Was given a voucher for Del Toro so we went on Sunday afternoon & I can't wait to go back! The ribs for starter were literally fall off the bone tender, steaks were perfectly cooked (med) & all the veg, potatoes (oh my, the champ!) & sauces etc were so tasty & again perfectly cooked. My husband & son both had sticky toffee pudding for dessert & I had to beg for a spoonful as they didn't want to part with any! 10/10 for food & service.. well done Del Toro! 👏

Drove from limavady to bring my teens to the leisure plex. We came in for dinner afterwards. Absolutely fantastic. Highly recommend! Fast, friendly service. Very helpful and fond considerate of allergies. The fish tacos o the healthy eating menu is absolutely delicious 😋. Kids had burgers and fajitas and loved everything. Oh and the music is fantastic! Can't remember ever being in a restaurant bopping to Dylan, GnR, tom petty and Bowie.❤️❤️❤️

*I’m ALWAYS on the hunt for a good steak *Friendly and knowledgeable staff *I ordered the 8oz rump fillet/medium and tried the Parmesan/Truffle sauce and added in a side of ribs and champ *I had a DECENT pour of the house red (merlot) *BEST steak I’ve had since moving here 2 years ago from Iowa, USA: -perfect char -perfect temperature -great tobacco onions -the truffle in the sauce was NOT overpowering and went well with the steak and the champ -the ribs were good, but didn’t hold a candle to the steak -the charred veggies were tasty, with a bite to them, which I prefer *Finished off with a sticky toffee pudding that was also tasty *Had a nice chat with an employee Lindsay (sp) outside as we were leaving, discussing our mutual love for ranch dressing. I’ll have to remember to drop off some Hidden Valley Ranch packets to her when I come back from the US in September. :) Overall best dining experience in 2.5 years.

I went in to this restaurant last Sunday and I was full of expectations and turn-out to be a disappointment experience. I askef for chicken wings they didn't have it and I ask for prawns they didn't have and I just settle for pizza but, the customer service was absolutely amazing will I go back again? I don't no, will I recommend it to someone I,m not sure.

Very poor quality chicken and ham pie on pensioners menu. No vegetables except chips, few pieces of chicken and no ham found in a peculiar tasting creamy sauce and horrible gravy poured over the pie. Will not be returning to this restaurant.

Overall was disappointed in the family (table of 5) visit to del Toro on 6th May 2023. We had barely got sat down when were asked for our drinks order, while I can understand their may be a standard of a drinks order within a minute, this should be adjusted to maybe 5 minutes, to give people time to sit and actually look at the drinks menu. When we did make a hasty drinks order, we then waited a good 15 minutes until our drinks arrived. While doing so, I noticed other tables drinks being ordered, and delivered in that time frame. 3 coca colas, a koppenberg and a cocktail shouldn't take 15 minutes. And I was disappointed to see the cola was not chilled (I request no ice, due to the bacteria that can grow in ice machines and the generic infrequent cleaning of an ice machine - not aimed at this restaurant, just in general). We ordered the food while waiting for the drinks, service was good from the young lady, and wait times for starters, starter being cleaned away and mains being delivered was appropriate for the business of the restaurant. However, we had ordered a rare 8oz serloin, it came out medium. There was no check back from the server, and despite trying to get any members of staffs attention, we couldn't seem to get anyone's attention. Luckily we had ordered drinks and the server who brought them did an amazing job of rectifying this situation. But if it hadn't have been for him, how long would we have waited for a check back. Other than the steak cooked wrong, the food was fantastic. After mains were finished, the smokers went outside, leaving the couple at the table to ask for a desert menu and some tap water. When the smokers returned, we proceeded to wait a further 25 minutes before anyone came to the table to clear plates and glasses away (which had been moved to one end of the table, stacked neatly, as a sign that we were done). When the server did come over, I smelled a very strong smell of cigarette smoke coming off him, signifying to me, he had just been for a cigarette break. While leaving a table uncleared/unchecked with the customers sat there, that's a serious no. We refused desert, because at that point we had become irritated. Upon paying, and telling the server how long we waited to be offered desert, we were told and I quote "oh sorry, there isn't alot of staff on now". But the staff member could still go for a cigarette break? As an ex restaurant manager, that is an unacceptable excuse. I would have been horrified to hear this had happened in any of the restaurants I managed. Customer finishes main, a server or manager comes and clears up and offeres more drinks, desert, tea & coffee or the bill. Not let them sit there for near enough half an hour with not even as much as glance. We chose del Toro as the previous year we had gone and it had been amazing. Amazing service, amazing food, great atmosphere, and we left last night feeling deflated and disappointed that standards in service had slipped so much. Apart from a simple mistake with the not rare steak, credits to chefs, food was still as good as the previous year. Because the food was still as good, is the reason it wasn't 2 stars

Sister booked here on mother's day for my birthday, the staff went above and beyond to do all they could for us. Brilliant service , food was amazing all in all we had a fantastic night , many thanks to all involved

Took a chance on asking for a table for two on a Saturday night with no reservation, but was asked if we could go on a waiting list for 45 mins, which wasn’t a problem. Definitely worth the wait! We had a bunch of starters to share (rather than mains) and the food was brilliant. Highly recommend the Mac and Cheese Balls 👌

Food delicious. Courteous service. Will be back. Only negative was it did get cold in the area we were sitting.

Was seated upstairs, no staff at all to serve us. Starter came after 20 minutes. Soup was sour. For main course, ordered a 12oz steak for 28quid, it was more like 8, asked for a medium well, it came tasting burnt and absolutely tremendously over cooked in the inside. Complained to the staff, gave me a classic excuse of the steak will cook itself. Lesson learnt, you might have to order medium rare in order to get a medium well steak. He gave me 2 coupons to make up for the night but I will not step foot again. Heniken Beer was great tho.

The worst restaurant I ever been. Firstly, I booked for seat already and she said she can’t find my booking even though I have my email to prove .But we get into seat and wait for the service, she put us upstairs and no waitress actually staying upstairs , we wait for 20mins for the starter .the tomato soup wasn’t too good but it’s still fine , so the steak come after.We asked for a medium well, the steak which came is half burnt with nothing red when u slice it , we complained about it and the staff said medium well is like this . Totally disappointed experience I ever had for £28.00 for a steak

We booked here for a steak dinner for valentine's Day. Upon entering we were greeted by staff in such a welcoming manner we didn't know what to do with ourselves. They insisted on a picture at their Valentine's Day wall (even though we are super awkward we loved that memento). The staff were so attentive and the meals were delicious - large portions and we weren't left waiting long. We had the nachos for starters - 1 serving between 2 is enough as it's so big. We both had the rump of fillet steak cooked to different degrees and it was delicious. Staff were lovely throughout and really should be recommended for bringing such a friendly vibe to the restaurant. Also their DT cocktail is divine but be careful as you can't even taste the alcohol 😂

We had my dad's 60th and sister in laws birthday dinner on Saturday evening. All the staff were absolutely fantastic. Couldn't do enough for us. Not to mention all the food was delicious and served altogether (despite the very large table) in a timely manner. Cocktails were amazing too, i personally recommended the passionfruit martini 😊

Del Toro is without question the best and most consistently nice place to eat at the Leisureplex in Lisburn. Quality food, great menu and lovely friendly staff!

What can I say the magnificent 7 a must try for all great selection Steak cooked to your liking and the taste was unreal The ribs mouth melting Chicken wings garlic bread Onion rings pepper sauce And those hand cut chips so floury inside Unreal and staff could not have been nicer Nearly forgot the strawberry daiquiri one the the best I have tasted Not know to u try it well done deltoro Lisburn

We had a girls Christmas Lunch here today. Food was very good, served on time, hot and generous size portions. Friendly and efficient waiting staff. Traditional Christmas Dinner was one of the best. We couldn't resist their delicious desserts either - well worth it! Tea and coffee served with mini biscuits which was a treat! (Hot serving plates would have made it perfect)

First visit and wont be the last , i had brie it was first class then for main had the siverside roast beef you could cut the meat with your fork i would have like more gravy but am sure if i had asked i would have got more

It was an extremely long wait and the food was alright the only thing I liked was the chips staff was nice but I wouldn’t recommend but if you have kids you can get kids free

2hr wait and still no food. Our little girl got her chicken nuggets and chips and to be honest McDonald's serve better. Over cooked and nobody cared when complained. £22 for kids meal and 3 drinks complete rip off. Kids meal to come with ice cream and wait 15mins still no ice cream. We asked 3 times where food was and kept being told it was coming. Got to the till and charged us for food we had not received complete joke won't be back

This place is great! Atmosphere is chill and cool. Great for a catch up with the mates or a family meal out. The staff truly cares about your experience. The food is absolutely amazing – everything we tasted melted in other mouths. Absolutely the best meal we had while in Del Toro. Highly recommend! And for their prices it’s 100% worth it.

Myself and my 2 boys visit del toro every week. The food is always fantastic and to be fair not overly priced 👍 my younger son is ASD and the staff are so in tune with his wee additional needs and seat us somewhere appropriate etc 🙏 The staff and owners always take time out to make us feel very welcome which is rare…the most genuine lovely staff and best food in town!! Wee gems ♥️♥️♥️

When we think about celebrations, Del Toro is always our first option and it never disappoints. From the starter to the dessert the quality and tastes of everything is outstanding. The staff are also really friendly. They know what they’re doing and what they’re talking about, very organised when it comes to events. You can tell making the customers happy in celebrating their special occasion is their main priority.

It was a lovely selection of well cooked meals. There was 9 people in my group & not one complaint. The staff were very pleasant & helpful, I would recommend it to anyone

Food not bad.steak could been cooked a wee bit better. Bit rare for wife.lot of wee flys flying around in air. Nuisance. Staff very helpful.

4 of us ordered sirloin steaks. It was like eating chewing gum. They were sent back seared slightly and returned.no change in texture whatsoever. We didn't eat them. When paying we received no discount or apology from management at the paypoint. Very disappointed indeed.

Very disappointed, not only do they not respect requests for portion sizes there is absolutely nothing that is dairy or egg free

Staff are nice and friendly 10/10. Food taste i would rate 7.5/10. Portion 9:10. Cleanliness of place 8/10. Only downside to our visit is that we were only told that their card machine is not working when were paying so need to get money from the cash machine which is close to the restaurant but charges £1.99 per transaction. I know this might put off costumers if they told beforehand but its not a good to know either to know this when paying.

Nice atmosphere lovely staff although they were so busy the service just couldn't be great...a few more servers would have helped! the food wasn't of a great standard I had beef and bird and the beef was tough. the hand cut garlic chips had a very earthy taste which wasn't appealing! I don't think ill be rushing back as I think the standard has gone down since they were in Antrim Street! very disappointed!

Me and my family Went in for a nice meal this evening, it was far from nice from beginning to end. 1: one of my family members starter came after she had finished her main, waiter then brought chicken wings to her but she had order ribs, once she had told the waiter she ordered ribs not wings the waiter tried to convince her that it was wings. When the ribs that was ordered for starter finally arrived, they came on a plate with no garnish and bbq sauce on ribs was like ketchup. 2: ordered 3 cocktails at the beginning on seating, these 3 cocktails took at least 30 minutes to come to our table. 3: one family member got the fajitas that came with MOUDLY cheddar cheese on the side, when informed the waiter, his abrupt response was ‘it’s blue cheese’, it was far from blue cheese, it was grated cheddar with mould! 4:, ordered the magnificent 7 for 2 people. It was FAR from magnificent. Steaks were both ordered medium but one came out well done, when asked the waiter to get a medium steak the waiter again was abrupt and said ‘it’s not we’ll done, it’s medium to well’ to which I responded ok but we ordered medium. Service at the table was absolutely horrendous. 5: , when food was ready at kitchen window the chef had to ring the bell at least 6 times to get the attention of waiters and because of this bell ringing a family member became uncomfortable as they have ADHD. Overall such a horrible experience and do not recommend in the slightest. Food was below average Food came to table cold Terrible service from staff and bad attitudes £2.80 for a jug of diluted orange juice daylight robbery Wanted particular steak but had to give 24hr notice To finish, the awards in the window is not an accurate representation of this restaurant.

In last Friday for a feed and spent £75 for a plate of food poisoning confirmed at the hospital today having spent 4 days in, food led me to have gastroenteritis.. prob won't be back

This evening my grandson took his mum and dad and myself for a thank you meal at this lovely restaurant. It was our first time in this location. We went often at the old location in Antrim Street. The staff are really friendly, special mention to Anton , happy and helpful, told you I would post something Anton, Always keep my word!!!!!! The food was well presented and delicious. Just had a super meal at Del Toro for our daughter's birthday. Lovely food, great service and a wee surprise for the birthday girl! Thank you to the whole team for a great evening.
