Deepdene in Mendip

We don’t really know Dorking but came for a comedy gig and wanted food and drink before the show. We booked a table online and then were a bit confused when we walked in as it’s looks like a work space but then has a bar and says it served food. The staff explained they had a limited menu currently. As we were there and we’d booked we thought we’d give it a go. We ordered halloumi fries to start and then various burgers - whilst initially worried this was just going to be a zap in the microwave job; how wrong we were. The food was so good. The food was restaurant quality!! The staff (particularly the gent I assume was the manager) were so friendly and helpful and couldn’t do enough for us. We will definitely go again; and look forward to when they have their full menu.

Unfortunately this place is missing something but I can’t put my finger on it. It’s just not complete. The cocktails were fantastic but massively overpriced, the food looked good but didn’t stay to eat and was in a booth that just felt uncomfortable. Toilets had all the mod cons – none of which worked and could of done with a good clean – and some paper towels to wipe your hands after washing! All in all prob won’t revisit if I do it will be at night once all this social distancing stuff is out of the way as I feel it’d work better as a busy bar. 6/10

Went as a party of 6 for Sunday lunch. We felt comfortable with plenty of space. Amazing food and Service. Very clean highly recommend. Make sure to save room for a desert!

Really nice atmosphere - sophisticated but chilled. Absolutely delicious burgers, really nice range of beers and cocktails, shared a nice brownie for pud and live music as well. Would highly recommend it - perfect place for a date night that feels a bit more cosmopolitan.

Went here with a large group of friends recently. When booking we were told if we were all boys we wouldn’t be able to get in but luckily we were a mixed group. The cocktails were really nice, the setting was nice and loved the toilets. However we ordered the same drinks which we were all getting charged differently for so make sure you they charge you correctly. Overall nice experience and will return.

Great food and cocktails, and lovely service (especially from Marci!!) Sharing plates are great and the Quesedillas were fab!! Would definitely reccomend

Great food... friendly and attentive staff. Very relaxed atmosphere. Would definitely recommend and will visit again.

Service was fine, decor is nice and the whole place seems clean. However our food was hit & miss. My husband's burger was great, and squid starter was delicious. However my prawn chorizo salad was v disappointing - cold prawns, slices of deli chorizo and roasted pepper from a jar felt lazy and didn't taste great. I was expecting freshly cooked ingredients, not out of a packet.

Sadly after asking for our breakfasts of avocado and egg on some toast and the full English but no bacon and an extra sausage instead; we received some avocado spread on a roll and the full English cane with bacon and no extra sausage. Only one member of staff working made service slow for us and other customers. No menus to see was a shame as the waiter had to tell us what they had. If the requests me made were not feasible then a little explanation would have been fine.

Popped in on the eat out to help out scheme, COVID rules in place and felt very safe. Staff were great and attentive, giving details on the co-working space. Food was AMAZING (we had tapas plates and burgers), can’t recommend it enough, make sure you go and visit!

Took a trip down there with some friends for dinner this week. We were starving when we arrived but, fortunately for us, the burgers are seriously good and they're a proper size also. The staff are friendly and on the ball and the drinks are reasonably priced. All in all, a great experience, will be going back soon.

Fantastic food, great environment and very reasonably priced (large portions). Really friendly staff. Will definitely be returning here.

Chose Deepdene Restaurant for 21st wedding anniversary, to book was easy on phone, staff were all really friendly, Cocktails were delicious and well made by the mixologist George and Lee was attentive with table service, Food was great and super large portions. Toilets were fancy and immaculately clean, Owner was very nice. Certainly will be coming back.

Went along with some friends and upon entry a gentlemen was sitting at the bar drinking and we were greeted by one of the bar staff. After getting our drinks we sat on a table and took in the surroundings of the low lighting. We were expecting our details to be taken for the NHS track and trace which we found other pubs doing that we had previously visited. The toilets weren't clean and needed attention but overall it was okay. Wouldn't be my primary choice for drinks with friends but any new addition to the local nightlife is good.

These are strange times and eating out quite a different experience, so difficult to know how it may be at another time. The interior is very well done, clean and stylish. The menu is good and offers plenty of choice, our lunch was very good, my burger was cooked perfectly a little pink in the middle and very tasty. All in all there is great promise here, there was a feeling of it still being new and in the learning curve of a new business, new staff and inexperience. Time will tell and I shall definitely return.

Got treated to a sausage and egg muffin meal on Fathers Day, amazing and will use again. Tastier and less grease than McDs in our opinion.
