Wow! I will never forget this awesome fish & chips! The chips were delicious and the cod was beautiful and succulent! Perfect F&C supper! This HAS to be the first place you visit for your F&C! You'll definitely return for more.

Small fish and chips with mushy peas, regular with chips and curry sauce, both excellent really enjoyed being able to sit in.

Friendly service, good sized portions. Busier in the Summer and when Butlins is open. A big plus has got to be, that even my extremely fussy cat loves the fish.

We had the best fish and chips from The Cod Shop on Saturday evening. We weren’t that hungry so had two small cod and one chips, still plenty for two. The cod was excellent, very fresh with light crispy batter. The chips too were excellent, not the usual greasy mush you get from some chippies! Will definitely return on our next visit to Minehead.

Walking up down The Avenue, there were a few choices, but in the end we went to The Cod Shop. It would have been nice to sit outside, but it had started to rain, so we sat inside. It was a really nice decor inside, there was a blue and white seaside theme throughout the restaurant. I thought it was really nice calming environment. Took a table and looked over the menu. It was lunchtime, and I wasn't overtly hungry (having just spent two hours sitting on a train) I went with the small cod special. This was a small cod, chips, a side, a dip, and a drink. I had mushy peas and mayonnaise with my cod. It wasn't long before our food arrived. The cod had a lovely crisp batter, and the fish was well cooked. The chips were a little underdone for me.

People that know how to cook good fish and chips. Passing with our two dogs we popped in to see what this place was like. Sat outside with dogs and we ordered at counter. Very friendly and knowledgable ( owners ) I think. I had GF code and chips, partner sausage chips and curry sauce. All served at the table Fresh crispy batter, hots and crispy chip Epic food Spotless toilets. Inside was spotless and nothing smelt other than freshly cooked food.

Went here on way back from our holiday ( so travelling back home ). Me and my partner have had alot of rubbish food in Devon lately especially fish. But coming across this little gem was the best thing ever. Small fish & chips, curry sauce and large haddock, chip curry sauce.. the food was absolutely spot on and good value.. would recommend anyone to try this place. Plus the staff were happy and very helpful.. 10 out 10 for us.. Will be back soon for defo.. thanks again

Having need of a wash room following a deposit from a seagull the man behind the counter pointed my husband happily in the right direction. (All toilets were closed) We then ate there. The meal was served to us outside. The cod was boneless and skinless and the chips cooked to perfection. Would definitely recommend.

Absolutely delicious fish, batter and chips with fast service. The portions were modest...but it was still too much to eat. The place was absolutely spotless too. The only annoying aspect was paying for ketchup but actually, putting ketchup on that fish was a mistake. It was too good to smother.

We ordered 3 large cod and chips and sat outside. The cod was pure white and the batter was light bubbly and crispy . The chips were extremely yummy . The young man who served the food was polite and friendly

Remarkably clean, organised well presented premises and menus. Quality of cod and chips one of the best I've ever had. However, had to wait 20mins for a eat outside £5.99 small cod & chips offer. Guy worked very hard and as fast as he could, and the chef helped out taking orders. They could have done with a third person on this busy Saturday afternoon. I don't quite understand or appreciate lemon wedges only being given to "regulars". Highly recommended and would love to visit again. Well done.

Picked up medium cod, pie and chips to eat down at the sea front. Shop was nice and clean. But, the person frying was very rude to staff in front of myself, a customer. Bit embarrassing. When opening our food, the chips were nice, but the fish was soo small, it was about 3 ins wide an 6 ins long, if your lucky. I would say that's a pensioners or child portion. Oh and a curry sauce, which again was nice. That came to nearly £12. Which I think was rather expensive. WILL NOT BE RETURNING

Nice fish and chips just up from sea front. Had small cod and chips with mushy peas. Partner had fish cake. Ate outside on colourful tables under umbrella, but restaurant inside at back as well.

We went about 5.30pk and had a sit down meal. The restaurant area was extremely clean with wonderful decor. The service was polite and swift. The fish and chips were cooked to perfection. Basically, the perfect seaside sit down fish and chips experience!

Best fish and chips we have had for a long time, fresh and hot, delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful. Everything was spotlessly clean. We took ours out to eat along the seafront but they had a lovely seating area also spotlessly clean and seating and benches out front for nice days. Would recommend and we will visit again.

Lovely! I had cod obvious choice partner had plaice both were gorgeous cooked fresh and a big portion for the price, definitely recommend. They are not on the sea front, but they are much better, and just a short walk up high Street, there's seating outside also.

Saturday evening takeaway "fish n chips" & a fishcake, not very busy luckily so a quick turnaround, really nice meal eaten by the beach, nicely cooked fish & chips, so will definitely be going back.
