Beautiful breakfast!! Found this cafe today while driving through, credit where credits due, the breakfast was absolutely faultless! Owners should be very proud

Whilst working in town we have visited this cafe and sampled the large breakfast. Cooked to perfection each time and a proper generous plate full. Highly recommended and plesant staff also.

Really friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Great choice of food and drink - obviously we went for the cooked breakfasts. Quick service - we were in and out in about half an hour 👍

Called here twice for lunch.......food was amazing and tasteful...owners were super friendly and made us feel so welcome. If you go here you will not be disappointed.

We stopped off to visit this famous old town and found that a lot of business' have not re opened after lockdown.Desperate for something to eat and drink, we ventured further along the street and found De Niro's.A great old fashioned and home cooked menu and really good coffee.I was tempted by the Full English Breakfast but then saw the faggots, mas and peas's.Turns out that I made a really good decision, the meal was superb!Please visit this great establishment to receive a warm welcom and a great choice of food.Thank you.

Just a perfect stop when travelling through this old Welsh town. Easy traditional menu, great desserts and very good value for money. Locals place and very friendly.

My partner and I were travelling up to North Wales and we came across this little café as we were driving through Blaenau Ffestiniog. We were seated outside across the road. It was a beautiful day. Staff were very friendly and nothing was too much for them. We had a lovely breakfast each and two mugs of tea. It was ideal and it kept us going until evening. The price was just right too. Diolch yn fawr. We will call in October again.

Lovely team running a great cafe! Really friendly and accommodating with good food. We came back a few times this week whilst staying in the area and every time experienced the same level of service, even when busy.

Went looking for food and stumbled upon this little gem, food is home cooked and tastes good. The price is good too.... the staff are very attentive and courteous and the lady couldn’t do enough for us. Would definitely visit again if we were to visit again.

Came to Blaenau Ffestiniog for the day and this cafe was recommended to us as a good lunch spot. Service was friendly and efficient. I had an omelette, salad and chips. It was delicious.

Visited whilst going on the railway. Had tea and coffee but food looked good so stayed for lunch. I had cheese and onion sandwiches and my husband had a tremendous sausage and bacon baguette and we shared a generous portion of chips. Good home cooked food. Service was really good from a lovely friendly lady who offered local advice too. What more can you want.

Came here by chance a few years back whilst on holiday and had a lovely lunch. Now we are back again we wanted to return and we were delighted to find it is as good as we remembered. Spotlessly clean, welcoming and friendly. A good menu at very reasonable prices. Great portions. We would recommend to anyone when in the area.

Visited on Wednesday for a lunch. We ordered one all day breakfast and a tuna mayo baked potato. Could not fault the meals and plenty on the plates. The side salad with the baked potato was really good with plenty of variety, not the usual loads of lettuce and find the rest amongst it! Will really recommend a visit if you are in the vicinity.

Good solid food, that was just what we needed after a night at the Ty Gorsaf, and ahead of a 220 mile ride in the rain. We had a choice of toast or fried bread, but whatever you choose, it is hidden under the eggs. And not very toasted, for that matter, but it was a good breakfast, and friendly staff.

Visited with vegetarian friends, a good selection of food for them. Staff were very friendly, good value and good service.

We had lunch at this restaraunt whilst waiting for the steam train to Porthmadoc. It was an absolutely rain soaked afternoon, but our visit to De Niro's really brightened up the day. The food quality was exceptional, and was very economically priced. The staff were extremely helpful and pleasant .... thanks for the care and the welcome!!!

Stopped for breakfast on way to zip world. Very friendly welcome, clean and relaxing. Had a full breakfast, bacon & egg butty and coffees. All freshly cooked, delicious and good value. Would recommend. Lucky to get a parking space outside the door.

Hubby and me enjoyed a delicious lunch here today (Tuesday). The lady who served us was welcoming and friendly. There was plenty of choice on the printed menu and also on the specials/vegetarian blackboards. Hubby was more than satisfied with his plate of 2 bacon rashers, 1 fried egg, beanz and a generous portion of chunky chips. I was very pleased with my freshly made mushroom omelette, chunky chips and small side salad. We also had a large mug of tea each. Hubby said the unisex toilet was clean and tidy. The total bill came to £12.75 (bargain) which we were able to pay by bank card (contactless).

De Niro’s is a wonderfully simple cafe; and just as the decor is traditionally understated, so is the menu and I just wish we had been hungry enough to have Lamb Hotpot with crusty bread, or steak and mushroom pudding, or faggots, liver and gravy or a host of other traditional dishes.

We decided to visit this cafe whilst we were in the area, lady was brilliant, nothing was too much trouble even for our fussy child. Food was lovely and reasonably priced kids loved the food, would definitely go back if in the area, thank you !

On a long (3 hour) trip across wales, we stopped in this small town to stretch our legs and feed the grandchildren.

Arrived in Ffestiniog from Porthmadog on the train only to find nothing to do, wandered around looking for somewhere to have lunch we stumbled upon De Neros. It was busy (always a good sign) but there was enough room for us.

I came here with my parents and our Labrador by searching for somewhere to eat on TripAdvisor. I walked in and asked if they were dog friendly and they are! The staff are lovely and friendly and the food is delicious! All of us had a a ham baguette with different extra fillings and the quality of the food in super. The prices are very reasonable.

Ffestiniog is not filled with the most amazing places to eat BUT if you come here please please give DeNiros a try.

We stopped here by chance after visiting the slate caverns and we all were happy we did. The food was cooked nicely, good portions and great service. I recommend Steak and ale pudding. The place has longer opening hours than Google says.

Came here for lunch whilst staying in the area and was shocked at the number of options available! So much choice! My friend and I had toasties and another had a cream tea - all very good and came quickly once ordered. Very friendly staff that were eager to offer us information about th local area. Very well priced too; a toastie, onion rings and tea was approximately £6-7.

Me and my friend thought it would be a good idea to go to our local cafe for some lunch, because my bank card hasn't arived yet I have to use contact-less on my phone, I went to go and ask if they have contact-less and I had a rude reply my answer was "yes bank card" because I was confused with they reply I asked again and he repeated the same again. so I went to sit down and I could hear them talking about me. After finishing my food I went to go any pay and the woman was like "oh so that's why you wanted to know if it was contact-less we thought you was using someone's else's card" I was really insulted and thought that it was really rude the way they spoke to a paying customer. After that experience I wont be returning any time soon.

Stopped here for a bite to eat during a return journey on the Ffestiniog Railway. Good sized portions of tasty food, and nice children's menu. Friendly service. Would eat here again next time we are in Blaenau Ffestiniog.

Needed brunch/lunch on our railway trip from Porthmodog. Read the reviews of De Niro's. They lived up to their good reputation. Good food and service, clean and part of the community. (No Mc D S---T).

I was working in the chemist for the day and got two rake outs from this lovely little cafe. I had tasty toasted tea cake in the morning and then a delicious sweet potato and spinach curry for lunch. My curry was gorgeous and for someone like me who is a vegetarian their vegetarian menu was fantastic. The staff were very friendly and very accommodating.The food portions were good too. Great little cafe

well another visit today,alway love the food in Deniros. i have been using it for years now.its difficult to single out a single food dish as all i have tried have been excellent.the tables are always cleared promptly,and the welcome is as ever always convivial....

After arriving on the steam train we walked round the lovely town looking for somewhere to eat. Decided to pop into De Niro's and so happy that we did. Such a lovely atmosphere. The staff were very attentive and friendly and seemed to know most of the people who were eating there. We had the large breakfast which was cooked to perfection. Would certainly recommend this eatery

Had a quick lunch here. Varied menu at reasonable prices, the food is cooked to order but didn't take long to arrive, really tasty.As it was obvious we were visitors to the area the waitress gave us a local map to help us, much appreciated.Would recommend a visit.

We spent two evenings in Blaenau Ffestiniog. At the recommendation of the guest house owner we tried this restaurant and liked it so much we went back the next evening. Great food, good prices, excellent portions!

Good food at reasonable prices, excellent service, as the lady running the cafe ensured we had a table with only a short wait and asked another group of 8 to return in 10 minutes when she would have a table ready for them and she did. Deserves to do well and it should.

Arrived in town starving and found this little cafe had a toasted sandwich and coffee was very good and the staff were very friendly and helpful with information about where we could eat later.

15th May I was delighted to find this great little cafe open this evening, it's been raining pretty steadily all day, and I was very wet and cold going in. I had a brilliant meal, the people running the place are very warm and welcoming, and the food was delicious, and very reasonably priced. I left feeling warm, and very well fed

We enjoyed a really friendly lunch at de niros after visiting on the steam train. The lady was really good with our little boy, bringing his sandwich as soon as it was ready and on child friendly plates and forks, the little things make all the difference, dining with a toddler is not always the best experience! The food was really fresh and very reasonable I would recommend if in the area.

An excellent little place to eat. I eat here a lot and I have never had cause to complain. The staff are very friendly. I usually always have the big breakfast and I can honestly say that it's the best one in town. Well presented and great value. I love this place.

Couldn't comment on the quality of food due to the fact when we walked in the staff were shaking there heads at us to say no room. We saw a table free from outside the window but didn't get a chance to see the reserved sign on the table as we were ushered out very quickly. The whole surrounding area is very rude to English walkers so I wouldn't bother wasting your time going in/ to this place. Leave it to the locals.

Stopped by for breakfast and was really surprised at the quality, quantity, speed of service and the food was served piping hot. Great Americano for the bargain price of £1:50!A real gem.

This place is the local High Street Cafe BUT so much more. It is friendly, inviting and the locals use it daily..... Lots of vegetarian choices as well as favs like all your breakfast staples and a fab Liver and mash dish. Order this with extra bacon or go for something like Chilli con Carne or Veggie Moussaka. open until 3pmin the Winter months. Well worth a visit and it is licenced if you fancy a lunchtime lager or vino. Friendliest of proprietors who will do anything to help visitors or people moving into the area.....

This unpretentious cafe on the main street serves the best cooked, best selection and most imaginative food for miles around. Immaculately neat and tidy with really pleasant staff. Shame it closes at 9pm. Highly recommended.

Had an absolutely lovely meal here! To me it looked a little afternoon cafe, so I was not sure about dinner. After reading lots of possitive reviews off we went. So glad we did the meal we had was so yummy! the menu choice was huge, and the lady serving us was fab. A lovely place to eat could not reccomend enough. So much so we are off for breakfast in the morning! :)

We were staying in Blaenau on a very rainy evening short walk from the cottage came upon this lovely little gem. Food was excellent I would recommend the lasagne & the fruit crumble with custard delicious. Very helpful staff, good knowledge, of walks in the area, well worth a visit.

2 veggie kids and this had a superb menu + lots of "normal" stuff as well. Portions massive and the lady owner was so so helpful and friendly you wouldn't believe! Normal cafe but it is licensed.

Had a meal and a couple of beers at De Niros recently and really cannot complain. It is a bit café style and in that sense, there isn’t much atmosphere. However, the food is excellent and certainly good value for money.

There were 9 of us whom all ordered different food and can't faulter any of it, the kids also had pudding which were all spot on. The only downside here was the toilet which smelt a little like men's urinals! Other than that very clean else where.

I went here with my Hubby on a Wednesday early lunchtime. It seems to be popular with both tourists and locals. Service was spot on and the food was well presented. Hubby enjoyed his big breakfast but wasn't convinced that the 2 sausages were Welsh-sourced (minor criticism). I enjoyed my healthier meal of jacket potato with 2 slices of thickly carved ham and a small mixed salad. There was a condiment holder on the table but it did not contain salad cream, only mayonnaise (again a minor criticism). We were particularly impressed with the large mugs of tea. The bill was very reasonable (£12.50) which we had to pay by cash as they have no machine, For info, there are a couple of ATM's further down the HIgh St. We shall definately be returning to this no-frills cafe which serves up good honest food.

This cafe is always buzzing and is popular with the locals which is always a good sign. A good choice of menu and good coffee. I visited during the day but they do open most evenings in the season.

We visited on a wet misty day. From the outside it looked fine maybe slightly bigger signage as we drove past once. Great location for parking which we did with ease around the corner. Food and service was excellent. Only criticism would be to serve local sausages as I believe the ones we had weren't.

I phoned the day before to ensure we would be welcome and Sue was excellent from the moment we spoke. On arrival the day next day we were warmly greeted and Sue was expecting us. Lunch was great and brilliant value for money. The order came quickly. Coffee was delicious too.

9 of us all crammed into this busy little place on a typically wet welsh summers day for lunch and to escape the rain. The food was good, massive portions for the price! The lady serving us was lovely. She was friendly and always smiling. Service was very quick. The only downside was not being able to pay by card.

Visiting Blaenau with my family and my dog using the Ffestiniog Railway. The dog had been denied entry to first cafe we tried, despite having been allowed on a previous visit, so we continued up the road and were delighted to find De Niros. My dog (quiet & well behaved) was allowed in as long as he wasn't wet. The tea and coffee were lovely and the two different sizes of All Day Breakfast we had were really good. We were there somewhere between elevenses and lunch, so it wasn't the right moment to try the very appetising options on Specials board, so I will be returning to try either the lamb hotpot or lasagne with butternut squash & feta! Really impressed with the range available in a small cafe. Really friendly service. Thank you De Niros - I look forward to visiting again

Our family of 3 had a wonderful evening meal here. As we were visiting the area, the owner kindly gave us some brochures for things to do in the area and explained how to reach them. The meals were very tasty and great value for money.

Excellent food at good prices and friendly staff. So many things on the menu that i fancied, wish i had more time to try them all.

My wife and I ate here on both nights of our two night stay and were really impressed with the food and the people. Impossible to fault - unpretentious and good quality food at a very reasonable price.

Was doubtful when we went in, but the welcome makes up for it. Very good selection of veggie food as well as basic cafe fare. I have given in a very high rating as it's very good at what it's meant to be. Not fine dinning, but beats the local pub there. On a wet day in the town you couldn't do better!

This cafe was very basic. Food wasn't great, barely passable. The waitress was lovely though and chatted to locals and tourists alike. Blaenau Ffestiniog is a very small place and to be honest we weren't expecting much in the way of eateries or shops and we weren't disappointed! There was little atmosphere in the place. At times I felt like the tourists who chanced upon The Slaughtered Lamb in An American Werewolf in London!!! I can say with absolute certainty that we won't be going back.

Worked in Blaenau FFestiniog for a week fitting a bathroom so called at different places for lunch. This is the only place i was drawn to come back to more than once. Good grub good staff, good prices. Only downside is when it got busy I couldn't read my paper as other people were sat next to me but hey ho, stops everyone becoming a little island and encourages conversation. No Wi-Fi. Bugger.

We visit this little friendly cafe regularly for a sociable lunch. Food is always good quality and very reasonably priced. Plenty of choice too. A little gem in the centre of town.

We came here after our Zipworld adventure and it was a very lovely experience. The food was fresh and there are a variety of options. Plus the well needed wine was very nice indeed. Friendly staff and very efficient service.

My partner & I popped in by chance as we were passing through the town at lunchtime, and we're very glad we did. Very simple little cafe but there is a lovely sounding menu on offer and you're made to feel very welcome. We both opted for simple sandwich and chips but I was offered a side salad and a straw for my vimto which made the child in my very happy! It's clearly very polar with the locals and I suspect you'd get a very good evening meal there too. The lady running it the day we visited I think is the owner and she was just lovely to everyone who walked through her door.Don't walk past this one!

We were passing through Blaenau whilst touring Snowdonia and we're starving after white water rafting. We peered in the window as the chairs were on the table and were about to look elsewhere but the lady opened the door and told us they were just cleaning after the lunchtime rush. She turned out to be a lovely lady who served us exactly what we needed and took time to tell us all about the area, suggesting we visit the slate mine exhibition which we duly did and we're so grateful as it was brilliant. So if you want simple, good honest grub, a decent coffee and a to be looked after don't be put off if the chairs are up, they're just making the place clean again.

Dropped in for a very late dinner after a hard days climbing with my daughter. Great gammon and chips, huge portion and lovely puddings too. Thought we might be pushing closing time but the staff/owners (??) were absolutely lovely, great end to a great day

We went in with the family for a late lunch it was delicious I am a very fussy eater and extremely picky and i could of eaten my meal twice !! My little lad was bouncing after a day traveling he was given a leaflet on trains to entertain him to allow me to finish my meal. We WILL be visiting again !!

This is a excellent, unpretentious cafe with a huge menu, including a whole board of vegetarian specials, and good value for money. Friendly staff, and open all year round.No fanciness just good ,plain meals or snacks ,- IDEAL !

Don't ask for a coffee, the coffee is sub standard, even though a espresso is listed, its water in a cup with a coffee flavour and comes in a mug full to the top....We've been in a few times now, although the first time we went in the staff were friendly, giving you all the perks, a biscuit with your coffee etc. they seem to soon grow tired of you coming in and seem to treat you as if your money doesn't matter to them, half bothered portions, missing side salads, sniggering when you order more chips as they keep giving you very small amounts.If you try and 'help' by putting your plates in a pile and clearing the table, you get told off and treated as if you are a naughty child, telling you not to do it and you're paying for that service.Left feeling deflated. and missing the last 4 coffee biscuits.....

Nothing fancy, but good value basic meals, good portion sizes, quite a small cafe style restaurant. Clean , tidy and friendly staff.

This is the only place in the entire UK that we ate at that gave my child a drink with a straw in it. I was so surprised and delighted at this small kindness. The meal was simple, well priced and tasty. Would eat there again if travels took me to this area again.
