Lovely place to visit friendly people

A great place to have a brew half way around the park.

It's a nice walk along the river and through the park. We enjoyed a drink and scones each. The scones are good, becoming my favourite I think.

Nice place for a sit down and enjoy a coffee while in the park.

We went on Saturday and I wasn't impressed. The menu was very limited with just a few standard sandwiches, toast and chips. We ordered at five past one and didn't receive our food for half an hour. Only seven orders came out in all that time, so they were hardly snowed under! My local park cafe would do that in under ten minutes easily.

Cannot comment on food or service as we never got as far as ordering after seeing “cash only’ sign on counter……well brassed off after tackling the walk from the car park with compromised mobility and using 2 walking sticks to find that notice of “cash only” was rather irritating and disappointing…..had to go find somewhere else that operates in the 21st century and operates using a card machine

Called in for a hot lunch whilst out for a long walk. It has a lovely friendly atmosphere with staff and customers clearly all friends. It is not fancy food but is freshly cooked and wholesome. They are cash only

Great cafe in this lovely park. Excellent coffee and particularly loved the tuna sandwich.

Good food served quickly and efficiently, seats inside and out, ideally situated within the park close to toilets. Cash only which is unusual, all food served in disposable containers the only negative was the wooden cutlery but that’s a personal thing, I just don’t like to eat with them.

Would have stopped for lunch ( for five ) but cash only , disappointing for 2023 !!

Cash only. It’s just really annoying. Who carries cash these days. Luckily my friend had some money in her car and went back for it. Old fashioned place. Quite sweet. Nice courtyard but would look lovely if someone could actually tend the garden and let climbers grow around the woodwork. Had an ice cream. It was all the cash we had.

Beautiful place to meet friends & have a coffee & a snack. Great service & dog friendly. . There is even entertainment on some days. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟👍💖

We find the cafe in Darley Park fine, I can't understand the poor reviews. Lots of older people prefer to deal in cash (I'm one of them!) and do not like the idea of a cashless society. And the prices being what they are you wouldn't need to be carrying tons of cash with you. The staff were friendly and efficient. We found the coffee fine and cheesy chips set us up for a good circular walk. The menu isn't extensive but adequate as I imagine drinks and ice creams are the biggest sellers. We'll be back.

Brilliant cafe in a great location... friendly staff and quick service... great to have a quick toasted sandwich and a drink while we were visiting the national hydrangea collection at Darley Park 😀. Cash only but that wasn't a problem

Some of the best cobs in Derby especially the bacon and sausage, have a good walk around the park then treat yourself to a cob and cuppa.

A beautiful park, very unfriendly staff, terrible coffee, cash only payment. I may revisit the park but will think twice before going to that cafe again.

Excellent tea room in Darley park. Food really good and very reasonably priced. Staff really helpful and friendly. Will call in again for a brew and a buttie,which hopegully will be soon. Been back a few times now and as good as even on a cold winters day, there is still a warm welcome there. Sausage and bacon buttie was awesome, just what was needed.

Amazing little cafe great breakfast sandwiches

A lovely sun trap so I may not advise it in summer with my coat. Lots of other dogs and there pets, so good for a sniff. Definitely a place to hang out with your human. The only downside was the lightweight plastic furniture. Easy for a sled lad like me to inadvertently knock over.

It has to be said that the cafe is very basic. Cup of tea in a disposable container - tea bag water and add your own milk (soya milk was available) for £2. No teaspoons but a wooden stick available. Did not eat but plenty of people ordering bacon cobs, etc. The seating outside was basic but in a nice spot. Why just average - would have been good if there were the opportunity to rate it in that way. But cannot put very good because cash only - not many people would expect that these days so some could be caught out.

Fairly small but incredibly popular cafe. Large outdoor seating area, although it's not covered; however, there's also indoor seating should it be raining. Sells hot and cold drinks, breakfast style cobs, burgers, chips and cold cobs alongside cakes and really nice ice cream. Ice cream is excellent and really creamy, the sausage and egg cob was far bigger than expected and for £3.80 pretty good value for money. Eat in or takeaway. Unfortunately it's cash only.

Lovely tea room when taking a break from walking. Lovely to sit in the sunshine on the outdoor seating area. Had a coffee and a wonderful bacon cob.

The worst coffee in world. Grumpy staff. Rubbish interiors. No care about a service to customer. Lack of card suggest stinginess. They charge enough. Can still taste the foul coffee in my mouth three weeks on.

Walk my dogs through Darley every week day - often drop in for a coffee - sometimes I have to miss because I've no money on me other than card, phone, or watch all of which are programmed for cashless payments. The cost of a small cashless 'reader' would be covered in the first days takings, word would get around and your work would get easier - fewer trips to the bank to pay cash in for starters. I like being able to 'drop in' and would eat lunch there if I had the cash on me to pay for this. But I rarely carry cash these days. I hope you respond to this - I use SQUARE - £14 ?? for the reader and you're set to go - its made a major difference to my sales (I'm not in catering) and I would thoroughly recommend it.

After a walk around the Park stopped off for a drink only then added a breakfast cob, they have an ordering system and it works.

Still hands down the best bacon and egg cob in Derby.

Your basic snack shop in a park. No frills food and service, is cash only. Tables and chairs very worn. Still nice to have a place to stop on a sunny day.

The park and gardens are popular so the cafe is quite busy, so I assumed it would be good, wrong. The tea and coffee are from a machine, nothing fresh, hot food is very limited, frozen chips etc. Nothing for vegans except chips and herbal tea. It's mediocre when it should be great.

This place is so beautiful. Full of greenery and full of very mature bushes and a wide variety of trees. Lovely place for a walk. The tea rooms are lovely too.

Cash only, next level grumpy, like really sort of dour and seething but with a hint of Kubrick sureal horror. Food is in fairness cooked and left on a sacrificial green altar outside.

The tea rooms looked lovely on a warm spring day, lots of outside seating, great location...but unfortunately as it's CASH ONLY we weren't able to feed our young daughters or quench their thirst after a long walk. Obviously we had something in the bag for them, but in these post(during) covid/mobile signal days who doesn't accept card payments! Please update your online details to specify this! Or even better get a card reader, then we would love to revisit as the park is lovely, especially for kids bike rides

“Hi does the ice cream have any coconut fat/oil in it”I ask “Don’t know!” “Can I have a look at the tub” I then ask “We don’t have tubs” “How do you get it here” I ask “We buy it in!!” “Can I have a look at whatever it miraculously comes in!!” I ask Finally the lady decides to move and brings me a carton showing coconut oil, which my daughter is highly allergic! The woman is a disgrace, the cafe is a disgrace

Breakfast cobs and hot drinks are very good. Only outside seating at the moment. It gets very busy and there isn't always enough tables outside to sit down and eat.

We'd walked from the city along the river and enjoyed walking through the park. Sitting down with a coffee and cake in this cafe was a, real treat.

A lovely spot to spend an hour on a nice day. The rest of the park is smashing. Although perhaps a little hilly for the less able.

If you're going to unexpectedly close at lunchtime might I suggest that, in order to avoid misunderstandings, you actually close your cafe instead of leaving the door wide open and then have three members of your staff scream at the customer at once. A simple, "Sorry, we're closed," in a normal tone of voice would suffice in a civilised establishment. I'd slso suggest that you don't yap at the customer's back, "You're not allowed in anyway," especially when the ban on sitting in cafes has been lifted. You might not be open, but everyone else is. Wake up. You may think that, and behave like, the World's ending. Others simply wish for a hot drink on a rainy day, even if that means they still have to sit outdoors. Would it really hurt you to put up a sign to say that you're closed? Ian Varley.

After a walk around the Park a stop for a bite to eat/drink was needed. Quick and easy ordering system at the hatch then wait for your takeaway to be brought out to the table, it works like clockwork.

Proper cafe food, really good food and good value for money.

Had a brilliant day at Darley Abbey Park, topped off with a lovely cappuccino served by a lovely pleasant young man. Well done!!

Queue was long but well ordered on first hot day of the year after lockdown. Foods and coffee excellent, be better when the chairs and tables are allowed back.

Lovely gentle walk through the park, stopped for a good cup of tea, Covid measures have limited the seating arrangements even though it is all outdoors. Toilet facilities need attention but overall not a bad experience, I will come back again.

Darley Park is a beautiful place to sit and relax

The tea rooms are serving from a hatch for takeaway customers although most people are not taking things far. The seats and tables have all gone but there are benches and the walls around the planters that people were sitting on and enjoying their refreshments....

It was 4:10 and they were no longer selling hot food because they closed at 5, not very good to technically close 50 minutes early.

Expensive poor seating outside dogs not allowed inside. Coffee poor only filter available as the bean to cup machine turned off... really don't have the machine if you aren't going to use it
