Great food, nice decor and lovely staff. The pork chop was deliciously charred, the buratta nice and creamy and the crème brûlée super delicious. Highly recommended!

Excellent food, very good Sunday roast, good selection of items on menu. Plenty of choice on wine beer and cocktails. Medium price range. I would be happy to dine here again. Update. Visited again today, for the 6th time. It's still excellent, can't fault the restaurant or staff.

I’m celiac and I ordered my meal gluten free, but they forgot and gave me gluten. After I pointed this out to them they picked the gluten off my plate and didn’t apologise. Ordered Sunday roast. Food and atmosphere were mid (aside from being served gluten). Pork was nice but the roast potatoes were dry, not crispy and the portions were fairly small.

We had Sunday dinner, 2 adults and 3 teenagers. Everything was perfect, nice atmosphere, friendly staff and fantastic food! We had Roast lamb with yorkshire pudding and more, it was just perfect. All of us strongly recommend to eat here.

Great evening, amazing service, brilliant food. Loved it.

Solid place for a decent meal. I had the pork, my friend had the sea trout. We enjoyed our meals in the restaurant's pleasant atmosphere. The music was nice and not too loud, so we were able to chat. The staff were attentive and only gently moved us along as they were trying to close. They only have one draft beer and limited wine by the glass, but everything is high quality, so no real downside to dining here.

Top quality food and service combined with lovely ambience! Roast Cornish Sea trout, buttered greens, roast Italian new potatoes and the Bakewell tart were excellent!!!

A good Sunday roast ruined by insanely salty gravy. Service was slow and not responsive to the complaint when raised (twice). Would not recommend unless you fancy overpaying for a block of salt on your plate.

Heerlijk gegeten, we hadden in Nederland al gereserveerd. Vriendelijke bediening, heerlijk eten, goede ambiance. Doordat we gezellig aan het praten waren, vergeten een gerecht uit zoeken. De serveerster gaf ons ruim de tijd om iets uit te zoeken. Er werden voortdurend flessen met kraanwater bij gezet en vervangen. Toen we het dessert besteld hadden. Bleek dat de serveerder deze niet had doorgegeven en moesten we wat langer wachten (wat voor ons geen probleem was) Toen we het dessert kregen, kregen we het op kosten van het huis en hoefden we hier niet voor te betalen. Ook werden er 4 lepels meegegeven( we hadden maar 2 desserts besteld) Leuk dat ze daar aan dachten. Een fijn, mooi aangekleed restaurant, écht een aanrader.

Overall good atmosphere, however the food was under cooked and I ended up with food poisoning and missing work.

We went for Sunday lunch before ABBA. Very slow service even though place not full. We had Sunday beef for three. Took nearly 45 mins and was very poor / meat was not good, veg poor … all in all an expensive and disappointing experience. Most local pubs back at home would excel at quality, service and price versus this. Expect more in London

Lovely dinner spot, perfect for date night! They have a very impressive wine menu, the service is fantastic and very friendly. I ordered the grilled pollock for the main - really tasty. The squid arancini balls are amazing and a must try. Overall lovely meal, I will definitely be back :)

Took my nieces and nephews to the DarkHorse to meet their Grandmother, some for the first time. From booking to the last handshake at the end of the evening these guys were amazing and so accommodating. We didn't ask for too much I hope, but everything was a yes. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was amazing especially the steak. And loved the music vibe...

Average food and poor service. Just returned from Sunday lunch. Waiter just dumped our food down and didn’t ask if we wanted anything else. Also no check back to see if the food was okay. For £28, you can get much much better in London.

Overall it was tasty . I live in the Netherlands and was visiting London got the first time in a few years and really wanted to have a traditional Sunday roast lunch. I choose the Roast chicken , the meat was fine but there was a lack of “ all the trimmings” - no stuffings, no pigs in blankets , no sprouts, no bread sauce . A bit of a disappointment

Really loved this place… the decor, service, and of course the food. We were all so impressed with our meals, and I’ve heard the cocktails are excellent. So nice to go somewhere where everything is just done really well. Will be returning soon!

Our first trip to Darkhorse. We'd seen it before as we've walked past a few times but never been in. On those other occasions the weather has been grey and the surrounding area was quiet, with little life so it didn't look that welcoming. We should have gone in though as Darkhorse is a lovely place for a drink, with some lovely cocktails, but our visit was for Sunday lunch and it didn't let us down. The roast chicken was so tasty - perfectly cooked - as was the pork, the highlight of which was the 'crackling' all around the outside. Dessert for us was the rhubarb crumble, which was a large serving that came with ice cream. Like the roast, it was delicious. Competition is tough but Darkhorse serves tasty food and drink at reasonable prices. it's well worth the visit.

Wanted to take my wife somewhere nearby but with interesting food. The reviews were glowing and the pictures showed good portion sizes so figured this would be a great choice. Indeed the food was delicious. The starters, mains and deserts were all great. I do wish the portion sizes were bigger for the price. Other peoples' pictures seem to show bigger portions than ours, I ended up ordering additional starters after we finished the starters because they were so small. I got 2 sticks of chicken and for main, 3 cubes of beef and for the price would've liked at least 33% more than that. Looking at other peoples pictures they got at least 2 times more than that so I don't get it. Fortunately the chips as a side dish were a good quantity (and good quality), so I'd definitely recommend getting one portion of chips per person. Every piece of food was perfect, the flavours, textures great, and cooked to perfection. We enjoyed every morsel. The draft beer was really nice, the atmosphere was decent, the lighting was pretty much perfect (although I'd have added a candle on each table and some photos from others show there used to be candles). Will definitely plan to go back, but will probably save up for a while first.

After so many recommendations we finally dined at the beautiful Darkhorse restaurant. After reading the menu over and over again I couldn’t wait to try the food. The restaurant is based in Stratford but in the calmness of East Village. A serene location which makes you feel like you’re not in the hustle and bustle of London and especially anywhere near Westfield shopping centre. The restaurant itself is stylish and industrial yet still cosy. Now onto the main event, the food. As there was four of us we decided to share some starters. We opted for the Padron Peppers, Jamon Serrano Croquetas, Squid Ink Arancini and the Charcoal Chicken skewers. Every dish was fresh and flavoursome. Perfect. For my main I ordered the Porchetta roast dinner which actually melted in my mouth. It was cooked perfectly and all the accompaniments were a perfect addiction to the pork particularly the roasted carrots. Delicious. Accompanying the food was a lovely glass of house white wine. I also tried the red wine which was lovely and some of the roast chicken which again was cooked perfectly. We got given the dessert menu but opted for cocktails instead as these came high recommended. Maybe we’ll do both next time. I had the Walnut cocktail which was a perfect after dinner drink. The staff were great. Attentive but not too much. Just letting us enjoy the food and our company. The atmosphere was perfect and I shall definitely be returning.

Came for an early dinner & chose from the Sundowner menu. All three courses were great especially the pig fillet. We chose a tasty Sicilian red & were not disappointed. Nice atmosphere & good service.

What a wonderful restaurant this is. The food is second to none and the level of service is fabulous. The sundowner menu is excellent value for money including all the favourite dishes from the menu. The pork chop is to die for !! The meals on the menu are regularly updated so if you are a regular like me there is always something new to try. Portion sizes are really good as is the presentation. The soft lighting makes for a very relaxing atmosphere. I cannot recommend the Darkhorse enough. And an added bonus the cocktails are great !!

Really good meal, melted goats cheese with honey and rosemary was a rich, heady starter. Onglet steak was very tender, the others with me said their pork chops and the chicken starter was tender and juicy. Relaxed and unpretentious service.

I live in the area and I go there a lot. Food is decent and quality is consistent, I am giving one star because of the poor service. If you are hungry, don't go there, because it takes them 45 mins to bring food for a party of 3 (30 mins if it's just one person). Water and bread arrives 15 mins after you place the order - yes, 15 mins, just to bring some water and the bread arrived cold, it's not like they are taking the time to warm it up. Also one waiter in particular is very rude. He is a black man, with a (seemingly) Spanish accent. There was once when I arrived with a bike, he gave me a seat without saying anything but later I felt like I am getting discriminated just because I have a bike, when he would move my bike around without asking me, saying that if everyone brings a bike, the restaurant will become a parking lot. My food is delayed when he was busy chatting with his colleagues. And when I asked to speak to his manager because of his attitude, he refused to bring anyone saying he is the manager. He was equally rude to other tables, to a point where the lady in a different table would ask for an other person to serve them and again he refused to bring any one. As a regular cyclist I understand that not every restaurant welcomes bikes, but I would expect to be notify when I arrive so that I can go elsewhere, without having to go through this horrible service. I am very disappointed to have received this level of service from a seemingly decent restaurant for which I am a regular.

A fantastic restaurant owned and managed by two professional chefs with over 60 years of combined experience. Matt is an incredible mixologist and makes a mean Godfather Sour - I definitely recommend it. Mas who is leading a dedicated team of waiters and waitresses is always very welcoming and has a strong customer-centric mindset. Although expensive, I cannot fault the quality of the food whatsoever - you get what you pay for! I recommend the 800g char-grilled sirloin steak (for two people). After living in London for five years, I have not experienced a better steak anywhere else. 10/10 restaurant. If you haven’t tried it yet then you know where to go!

First time visiting this restaurant and I’m sure it will be my last. My starter and main course was too salty; I couldn’t eat it all. My party had the same experience with their food. Visited for Sunday lunch and had a great time. We had a selection of starters which were all generous and very tasty. I had the porchetta roast which was a treat and a step up from the usual roast pork. The meat was very tender and my companions who had steak said it was perfectly cooked. Dark Horse has a great wine list which is definitely the best value around. I don't know of any restaurant in the area with so many choices under £30. You can order within your budget and always be happy with what you're drinking.

Great atmosphere and food, just a bit pricey!

The food was terrible(bland).we had to wait for over 40mins before being served!! We were the only POC table at the restaurant and other customers who came in after us, had their food served!! We also asked for coke and the waiter brought over diet coke bottles and glasses and then we told him we wanted just normal coke. The manager then comes over later with just glasses with the drinks already poured in ( without the bottles). When we took a sip, we knew it was diet coke. It was so sly!!! We saw others being served normal coke with the bottles. No one attended our table but they would attend everyone else and ask of they were okay. Deeply saddening experience!! It does not feel good to be treated like that, especially when you haven't done anything wrong!! Seems they only treat a certain demographic well!!!! Do not go here!!! Spend your money elsewhere ( they are so over priced too)

Was the worst service ever, took forever with my order. I was expecting the food to be better since I waited so long but my pork chop was too salty and so hard to cut into, wasn't able to eat half of my food because of it. Overall the only good think was the potatoes fries. Never going here again the food gave me a bad stomach ache.

Went to the restaurant today with my friends and had a terrible experience. The restaurant was too loud we couldn't hear each other talking as they were hosting a office Christmas party so couldn't be helped. However we had ordered normal coke and received diet coke when sent back we received the same diet coke however this time without the bottle and in a glass cup to cover their mistake. We didn't complain as we didn't want to make a fuss over it. It took over 40mins to receive our order while tables who were seated and ordered after us received their order alot quicker. We were never checked on like the other tables were either, not sure if it is because we are POC, but couldn't help but feel that way as we were the only table of colour. We then had to wait an extra 20mins to get a waiters attention in order to get the bill as it was quite clear at that point they were trying to avoid our table. We did not feel welcomed and will definitely not being going back again.

I went during a less busy afternoon so the place was quiet. The staff were attentive and made sure our dishes came when it was supposed to. The appetisers were lovely (chórizo, squid ink arrancini) and I would recommend the black pig pork chop. It's a good restaurant.

Best restaurant in Stratford. I had the halibut and I do t remember eating a better fish dish. My fault are the beef and lamb and it was all delicious.

My partner and I stumbled across these this place after a exhausting day of sunday shopping around Westfield. Neither of us had visited the Darkhorse before, but we'll certainly be coming back again. Great selection of drinks available (cocktails, beer and a extensive wine list) perfect for that post shopping wined down 😁 I believe this most be independently owned, and you can see the staff really take pride in there job. This is exactly the sort of local place the should be supported. The food was fantastic, and service amazing. Highly recommended (Our only criticism, the gluten free options are limited).

I visited twice. For dinner nas for afternoon drinks and nibbles. Great service both times. The food is well prepared from quality ingredients. A good wine menu. The cocktails are creative and not too sweet. Very tasty. It would be great if the outside tables were also non-smoking during the pandemic.
