Lovely restaurant. Couldn't fault it.

I really wanted to like it but the food is such a let down. It was quite shocking to be honest for the price you pay. Ambience is beautiful and the service is 5 star. We had calamari to start with - bland and rubbery. I had ragú pasta which was so so bland too. I’m not a chef but I make a fantastic ragú at home myself. I definitely won’t be coming back until food improves by 90%.

Fantastic spot for a birthday dinner. Great service, tasty cocktails, really nice food, no rush, beautiful interior. We'll be back!

First time visiting this restaurant as a resident nearby, firstly this place is undoubtedly gorgeous. I would recommend for a drink, however just that. The food was mediocre at best for the price to gastro pub quality if you ask me, the service was unfortunately slightly rude and dismissive. So overall i wouldn’t recommend eating here due to the unfriendly service but would be great for a drink with friends.

Fine dining in a cosy atmosphere. Warm interior colours create a very nice, calming vibe of the entire place. Italian menu delivering classic cuisine, with a hint of special ingredient in every dish. Salmon tartare with blood orange was absolutely outstanding, as well as vegan ragu pasta and soothing minestrone. Very attentive staff, welcoming, understanding, making this excellent dining experience truly delightful.

Average and overpriced. Kept pouring wine to speed us through the bottle….to sell more wine. Crab linguine mild spice and starchy and not up to the usual standards.

We went to celebrate our friend's birthday and the place looks incredible, staff very proffesional and kind generally speaking. As for the food I am afraid it was not that impressive, I had expected something more elaborate and bit more sophisticated. But that's just my perspective. Thank you for having us!

A truly excellent dining experience. Attentive staff and friendly, we really enjoyed our meal and price wise for what we ate and drank was perfectly what we expected.

I used to love this place and even was excited to comeback for our 20 yr anniversary dinner since this is the spot where i meet my wife. Unfortunately it didnt keep well with the time. I have a request a window table in my booking a month ago but was moved to the back of resturant. Not sure if it was a miss communication or cause i had my 9 year old daughter. I was bothered seating next to a private party which was loud. Our waiter was so awesome and well caring on the small detail and evem workd with my daughter on a cool suprised dessert for me and my wide. But everything else wasnt as good. Food was avg except my main course which was very disappointing. I had the braised beef which is supose to butter soft but came super hard and none addible. The awesome waiter imiditly noticed i wasn’t eating and came to see what was wrong snd took the intitive to remove it. It was a nice memory but sadly Daphne’s became just ur neighborhood resturant but not one that is on my list.

Terrible cocktails and inedible Milanese escalope…

We know this restaurant well and as many do it has had its ups and downs. Today the food was ok but the shock came at the end of the meal. We had been sitting at the bar and when the bill arrived we were a little taken aback when the card machine was pushed forward with the bill. Having checked the bill carefully they had added an extra bottle of wine, which with service charge added a £100 to the cost. When this was pointed out there were no apologies and certain surly looks. BEWARE!

We had a perfect anniversary lunch at Daphne's. Everything from the table in the conservatory with beautiful decorations all around, the service and the food was amazing and made us feel very welcomed and well taken care of - the chocolate truffles were also a nice touch! Parit and Greg were exceptional and attentive, accommodating all our needs and giving great recommendations about the menu.

Sweet and delicious pasta dishes with mushroom sauce

I initially informed the restaraunt about having a baggy. Our table was ready, however we wanted to seat in main part ( next to fireplace). There was an available table for 4. The hostess initially said, that we cant sit there as the baggy will not fit and they cant we give us the table as it the table is only for 2 people. Our baggy is very small ( Yoyo brand) and fits liiterally anywhere. We asked the manager and after reviewing the baggy , they allowed. We felt like they did not want to give us the table just because of baby. But it fit perfectly, and did not disturb anyone. It was not very pleasing when in 2024 , the restaraunts management still are hesitant when it comes to baby. Food was okay. Ambiance is nice, that is all about this place. Definitely not going for 2nd time.

We did not enjoy Daphnes. When we entered it was not welcoming. The staff were very gloomy and not pleasant at all. When we sat down the environment was loud and not relaxing. During the time when we were seated at the table there were multiple different people who served us. Therefore a lack of consistency with the staff. The staff were continuously hovering during the entire meal therefore you were unable to relax. With 4 different staff members coming to the table to refill the water glass int he space of 1 minute. The staff were not very pleasant and it felt as though they were rushing us to order food and turn the table round. Additionally they seemed to look down on you and made us feel as though we were not suppose to be in the restaurant even though we spent a fair penny on the meal. The food when it came out was luke warm however it got very cold very quickly which made it feel like it had been sitting around for a while prior to being served. The restaurant is quite small it was noticeably cramped with too many tables in the area. It was not a pleasant environment to be in at all and did not seem private. Overall from sitting down I wanted to get out of there as soon as possible. It was an unpleasant experience and the worst meal in London I have had. I will not be returning to Daphnes anytime soon. The food and experience was definitely not worth the £143 paid. I have paid a lot less and had a much better experience. I do not recommend!

This restaurant has got it all wrong. The food was poor and delivered so quickly, literally like fast food - as if they needed you out asap. Staff were hovering (very nice but just way too much - we couldn’t have a conversation for constant - ‘another bottle of water’ questions). The food looked like it had been thrown onto the plates. I know it was a Monday - so maybe a bad night to choose, but it lacked any kind of flair or charm - a real pity given the price. It was as though they had been told to make you order as much as possible, as quickly as possible, and then get you out so someone else could have your table. Evidently others had had similar experiences as the place wasn’t even full. I hardly ever give bad reviews but this was really disappointing.

Daphne's is an institution, part of the Caprice 'stable' with food and service as good as Scott's or Sheekey's. If you are a wheelchair user, make sure that you don't drink too much as there are no accessible loos! The staff were clearly embarrassed by this but of course it's not their fault. It would be lovely to receive a reply to this review and even better to return in a few months time to see that it had been acted upon.

We came for early bar counter dinner to celebrate anniversary after a long working day, and phone that got pickpocketed in Sloane Square Zara. The hospitality at Daphne’s was exemplary. We were given a great bar seat and quickly served our bread, glass of house Champagne from a freshly opened bottle and a Lychee cocktail. The host/ bartender Michail was perfect - friendly but still ensuring that it was clear that he was trying to look after us and make our visit great. The bar is gorgeous - really outstanding - as is the whole restaurant, the flowers and the winter garden were fantastic - the whole place was like a romantic movie set. The staff throughout were faultless - really helpful and warm. We were given complimentary anniversary truffles which were really tasty and much appreciated. My partner had the signature pasta dish and I had squid, spinach, courgettes and cod as a main, all cooked beautifully, tiramisu is delicious. Daphne’s is beautiful - such a fantastic iconic London landmark with our new favourite bar in London. Thanks for adding a little extra touch of magic to our anniversary. ( our visit was so great, the magic stayed with us and soothed the misery of the stolen mobile phone)

Outstanding as always across the board. Didn’t love table - prefer being in front section or back, but not near door in mezz. Otherwise, a typical A++ Daphne’s experience, still one of London’s best!

The conservatory has a lovely, cozy and romantic vibe. The food and service were just lovely! This was our first visit to London, and we had a 7:30 reservation. We had to wait a bit at the bar, and enjoyed that part of the experience as well. Beautifully made craft cocktails and friendly service. A great evening out! Kudos to the staff!

I would definitely recommend the tiger prawns, crab pasta and ragu pasta. Everthing was very delicious and the atmosphere was nice. If only it was a little bit warmer after the freezing weather outside.

The pasta dishes we had were very disappointing. The service was also lacking.

Lovely ambiance and service overall. Our beef fillet was overcooked which they kindly redid the dish for us and took it off the bill. We had a cute surprise for our birthday for desserts as well. However, we felt that the gap between the starter and main is a little too long. Other than that, we our meal was delicious - we had the Italian salad, octopus carpaccio, clam linguine and beef fillet with truffle. Thank you :)

I tried Daphne’s during Christmas time and I can easily say it’s the most beautiful and festive restaurant in London during Christmas. The food is nice but was not extraordinary, and the service could be better and the staff could be nicer with customers.

Great atmosphere amazing wine list and food is amazing. We had the truffle ravioli, the seafood pasta, and the veal ragu! The octopus carpaccio was amazing! Reservations are recommended they do tey to tun the table so no slow dinning. .

Beautifully decorated and the food is very good. Americans be advised of the conversion. Prices are higher when converted to the dollar.

I booked Daphnes a few months in advance of our trip and was so excited to see all of the beautiful decorations and the food. It is really a beautiful restaurant. The wait staff has on turquoise blazers on which look amazing. But they are a tad stuck up. I never felt like they appreciated that we were patrons. And it was our first time dining here. It was my birthday and they just stuck a plate in front of me with happy birthday on it. The waiter didn’t say a word. The food was just average. We had just been in Italy where our palates were pleasured abundantly! My husband wanted the linguini with clams and the waitress said they were out. Then about five minutes later another waiter went by with linguini with clams😳 We won’t be back there are so many other excellent restaurants to choose from.

I recently dined at this restaurant, and unfortunately, it was an incredibly disappointing experience that compelled me to share my concerns. Poor Service for Families: When requesting a high chair for our baby, the waiter's response was shockingly rude, making us feel unwelcome right from the start. Allergen Information Lacking: Despite my partner's allergy, the restaurant couldn't provide an allergen menu for their bread basket, claiming it came from an external source. This lack of information raised serious concerns about the safety of the food. Arbitrary Rules and Poor Customer Service: We encountered an absurd policy when attempting to order only coffee.(since we were not sure about the food allergens we wanted to order just coffee) The waiter insisted on compulsory food orders without providing any written policy to support this claim. Such arbitrary rules and lack of transparency were highly frustrating. The level of rudeness and discrimination was beyond anything we've encountered before, creating an uncomfortable and hostile environment. Forced to Leave in Unfavorable Conditions: To top it off, we had to leave the restaurant abruptly with our little one during a rainstorm. The lack of empathy and customer care in such circumstances was both disappointing and unacceptable. Overall, our experience was marred by poor service, a lack of allergen information, arbitrary rules, and a complete disregard for customer well-being. We sincerely hope the management addresses these issues to ensure a more positive and inclusive dining atmosphere for all patrons and apologize for the same.

Beautiful venue and decor, very friendly wait staff (apart from front desk who came across intimidating) but the food was very bland and extremely overpriced. The wine was poor at £14 a glass I expected better. We just returned from Rome where we could get a litre of wine for €6 which was ten times better. I think it’s just the place to be seen. Wouldn’t go again.

Lovely, convivial, setting in the conservatory. Food was of a good standard and very enjoyable. Were able to ask for a break before Secondi as we’d just had bread, anti pasta and Primi which was handled well. Cocktails were made well and the service very polished. (Only feedback was our wine was topped up with large amounts of wine so only twice following the first pour.)

Best place to go for a Christmas meal

really delicious and amazing quality food. The service was great and it felt like a nice restaurant with a lovely atmosphere.

 We paid £210 for two people - this included one starter, two mains, one dessert and two drinks each. The menu was very limited.

As usual was everything outstanding just only one thing that was not followed up when I booked restaurant few months ago I specified to have a seat near the fireplace and we were settled on a different location without letting us now that the place is not available.

Excellent food, service and ambience. I mentioned that it was my birthday when I did the reservation, so they gave me a really nice table and surprised me with some sweets and a candle when desert time. I highly recommend!

What an amazing treat. Expensive yes!! But was it worth it? Absolutely!!! We tried so many dishes, octopus appetizer was amazing. Pictures show you how well we did.

Only just got round to writing my review but what a fantastic restaurant this is. The restaurant is a short walk from our home and we enjoyed a Sunday lunch with a bottle of wine at the end of summer. Great service and very high quality food. I would recommend the Chicken.

Food was mediocre, service was VERY chaotic and the lady at the front desk spoiled our whole dining experience at the end the evening. She failed to believe that the expensive coat in the coat cupboard was mine and her manner was very rude and patronising. I will not be returning.

Incredible atmosphere with beautiful Christmas decorations. Super cozy spot and great with friends or for a date night. The food on the other hand was subpar. The olive oil with the breadbasket and the tiramisu were the highlight of the meal. The service was also subpar, the waiters didn’t seem happy to help. Not sure I’d return cause price not justified for the food or service.

I have been eating at Daphne’s for many years. It has never been low cost, but then why would a great restaurant in Chelsea be at the lower end of restaurant prices. But in the past few months the prices have risen far faster than inflation and supply chain price increases. As I say it’s a great restaurant but in future it’s one course and 2 glasses of wine and not a shared bottle.
