Daniel Sushi in South Somerset

There is no address on Google Maps and their website has no address listed. They advertise being on Facebook, Instagram, and X, but when you click on their link for these platforms, nothing comes up.

First class service ! My husband and son both big sushi connoisseurs and said this is some of the best sushi they have had. Daniel Sushi at present do t have a restaurant but we had a delivery to our holiday location Peckmoor Farm Lodges in Crewkerne, for only a small delivery charge I wholeheartedly recommend.

Been to Daniel Sushi on a number of occasions when we are around Yeovil (one of my daughter's absolute favourites!!!). Not always as busy as you would hope, but it is Yeovil. I suspect if he moved to somewhere like Sherborne or even Dorchester he would be packed. Excellent food, excellent food and excellent food... What more is there to say?

Deliver impeccably and punctually, in fact the delivery is earlier. Good raw material, excellent 2 tartars (tuna and salmon), excellent temperature prawns and sauce with innovation

The restaurant was dead quiet when we walked in on a Friday evening, which wasn’t great to see. Waiter was friendly and attentive although did feel like an inconvenience towards the end of the night when the chefs came out and seemed waiting for us to leave. We ordered one of the set menus which was really lovely and although there was quite a few ‘courses’ of food and it was of really great quality I don’t think it warranted £38 a head. The food was really tasty and it was great to attempt to eat with chop sticks. However if you want something to fill you up, I would suggest going elsewhere..

Came here for an evening as my daughter was home from University for the weekend with friends and fancied somewhere different. I had read previous reviews all good but thought maybe a bit contrived. However they were not wrong outside of building is absolutely nothing special but one inside welcoming with nice simple decor and food was absolutely stunning. Could not believe they were not packed out on a Saturday night if this little gem of a restaurant were located elsewhere would be fully booked with waiting list I’m sure.

We happened to be in Yeovil on an errand and thought we should try this restaurant as reviews were great. Website shows opening hours as being from 6pm. We we went on aThursday evening only to find the restaurant closed. No note of explanation on door either.

Our son loves Japanese food and we went to celebrate his 13th birthday, his verdict... the best meal he has ever had! This place is unassuming, unpretentious but serves excellent food with great staff in a relaxed environment. It was well worth the 1 hour journey to go there, we will be back.

I’m an unassuming backstreet of this sleepy Somerset town is a hidden gem. Nothing tells you that something special is here. The outside of the restaurant looks like a cheap Chinese takeaway. When I entered my spirits rose a little at the simple but clean decor. I was the only customer which never feels good. Quickly I was seated and given a menu, and I ordered. Kapow! The food here is first class. I have in been to Japan many times, and adore Japanese food and boy can the chef here cook. Every single dish was zinging with having been lovingly freshly cooked. Really top class food at an extraordinary low price.

Six of us ate here last night and I have to say that the food was nothing short of superb. The biggest problem was choosing what to have. My wife and I went for the taste of Japan and every dish was a delight. I don't think that we have ever had better Sushi. We were there for three hours, had several drinks each and the bill came to a very reasonable three hundred pounds. We will definitely be going again. We are so lucky to have this place in Yeovil.

In Yeovil you can find London quality japanese food for less than half price. Recommended to pre order you food ( very easy on their website)... We get there Saturday evening and the food came in less than 10 min.

I've been here the first time in 2018 and ever since my expectations for sushi have been set very high and no other restaurant reached my expectations. We visited Daniel Sushi with fairly low expectations as most sushi is fairly bland. However, we were served the most Phenomenal sushi we have ever tasted. We had perfectly cooked steak to accompany the amazing sushi assortment. Would recommend to anyone!

The most amazing Sushi 🍣 place! On our way from Sussex to Cornwall and wanted to stop for something to eat. This place flashed up as we were approaching Yeovil and I'm so glad we stopped here. First of all, the food was amazing, my husband and I enjoyed it thoroughly. I would say our visit was satisfactory. HOWEVER, the menu was extremely confusing and did not have all the prices on it. No photos or descriptions of what was inside each dish. Our waiter was very friendly but seemed like his mind was elsewhere and couldn't tell us exactly what was in each dish but kept recommending the most expensive thing on the menu (from what we could see). We were the only people there but food took quite a long time to arrive, this was also strange as it was a Friday night, we were hoping for it to be a good atmosphere but it felt a bit dead:/ This doesn't change the fact that the food was very good though.

Went here with my sushi addicted wife for a meal and we were very happy with what we got. The soft shell crab was great too, as was the Japanese lager. We get sushi quite often and have eaten it everywhere from Bath to Mid-West United States (not Japan yet!), and this place is somewhere we will certainly be returning to. Only downside was that they had no spicy mayo that my wife loves with sushi (we just mix mayo and siracha at home), but that might just be an American thing. Looking forward to our next visit.

After a good break, we visited again our favourite restaurant, we ordered Gourmet Selection us usual, but we didn't realise they got 2 gourmet now... As a sushi lover with a sushi-phobic partner it took a little convincing before we ended up at Daniel Sushi for date night. We were a little apprehensive when we turned up 5 minutes before our booking to find the restaurant pitch dark and completely empty, but once the owner arrived and let us in we were made to feel immediately welcome. Surprisingly for a Friday night we were the only people in the whole restaurant, which was a little awkward, however that was soon forgotten when the food arrived.For our meal we ordered a taste of Japan sharing platter for 2 and every item was simply delicious. The food was fresh, beautifully presented and arrived quickly considering we hadn’t pre-ordered as recommended. We were glad we ordered a platter as there was a great selection and we got to try a little bit of everything, both hot and cold foods. The tempura mori and seafood maki were particular winners, as well as the moreish edamame. I fully expected my partner to be less than enthusiastic about the food but he loved everything and hasn’t stopped talking about it since! The quality of food you get for the price is excellent.This sushi is truly addictive and we can’t wait to get back to Daniel Sushi soon to try out some more items on the menu!

A charming little ambient gem. The menu is well executed, it takes a little time to: arrive as it should because it is exceptionally good value. Service was prompt and unimposing. We had a sharing set for two. Edemame hot and seasoned, steamed gyoza and mixed tempura. Then sushi, a selection of maki well presented and tasty. Finished with chicken and steamed rice. The have a full drinks menu, we just had tea served in iron pots. Loved it and will return ASAP.

The restaurant looks good. Fresh and tasty food, very friendly staff. By the way I recommend making a reservation if you want to eat in a restaurant otherwise you will have to wait longer until the food is ready.

We have been here to eat twice in the restaurant and have had Daniel Sushi to takeaway twice during the lockdown and have never received anything less than perfection! Daniel Sushi is fantastic tasting, absolutely sublime quality! Every mouthful is so full of flavour and presented so beautifully! The staff here are always very polite and take such pride in their work and it really shows. The price is very fair considering the taste, quality and presentation - no other sushi restaurants in Somerset can compare! This is the closest to perfection that I have had since visiting Japan last year! I really love the sashimi selection and my partner and I really love the tempura prawns and tempura vegetables the batter is cooked to absolute perfection with the most amazing consistency. I wish we lived closer to Yeovil so we could visit and takeaway the sushi more. Thank you to everyone at Daniel Sushi, we will be back!

I have been to Daniel Sushi 4 times now and I have never been disappointed. I have a crustacean allergy and I am floored by how accommodating they have been. I have been assured there is no cross contamination and true to their word they have ensured my food is always safe to eat(and if there was contamination I would have know). They clearly have very high standards of preparation! It is always delicious and very good value for money. Fresh and tasty ingredients are obviously always used. Very easy to order and is worth ordering in advance weather you are eating in or taking out. Although he is always happy to add a few extra dishes on the day. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere and the staff are extremely friendly.

For sushi the menu is cheap and affordable, while still providing good quality food. The team are very accomodating to those who have allergies. Avoid this pseudo-restaurant whenever possible, Menu is overpriced and pieces of sushi are very small and they sold me the sushi with old and unfresh igredients. I had the stomach ache 3 days non stop!!!!! (I have got very sensitive stomach). I tried come to the restaurant on the next day to request the refund, but they have been closed!!! I have been there during opening time. If you like eat unfresh sushi, and pay high price, I really recomment this pseudo-restaurant.
