Damascu Bite in Hackney

I was looking for falafel in the Shoreditch area and came across the reviews for this restaurant.The reviews were spot on. The food was delious. Then staff was friendly and accommodating. The reviews are correct the seating area is very, very,very small. But that did not take away from the food that was served.

The food coma that acocmpanied this meal was divine and the myriad of flavours were simply stupendous. The chefs did an amazing job! The gentleman taking our order was a sweet 16 year old boy who had excellent attention to detail and gave us one of the best customer service experiences ever experienced. I hardly tip but we tipped generously for his great work. Overall a 9.8/10 near-faultless gastronomic and customer service experience. I knocked off a 0.2 from the rating because they didn’t have Pide/ flatbread, so they gave us pitta bread instead.

Wanted to order something different that was light in the Brick Lane area, and found this little gem. I ordered the mixed shawarma; filled with delicious pieces of chicken and meat, this is a suitable place for lunch or dinner for a relatively respectable price.

This is my go to place on Brick lane for falafel wraps. ( and all the meat eating friends that I bring, love the carnivore options too.) I am not a nutritionist and it might be wishful thinking that is it a healthy meal. But it is fresh and full of vegetables , quick and only 5.50 £. So it ticks a lot of boxes , for a fast meal. I have eaten a lot of falafel wraps,( we have great ones in Copenhagen ) But Damascu has their own special blend of ingredients that makes them better than an average wrap and the guys who run the place are nice and friendly. I work nearby sometimes and I've used that excuse to eat there multiple times in a week.

After meeting with associates we had delicious dinner at Damascus Bite. Regular visitor to the establishment. Excellent foods and prompt service.

I love this place. Healthy and good food. Wrap, takeaway box and eating inside. A 5 star restaurant in brick lane. Turkish sweat and Turkish tea also to be mention.

We enjoyed the most delicious falafel while touring London ‘s east end . Friendly service ,quick and priced just right !

I went to this establishment at approximately 3:12 on Thursday the 23rd of August, in order to try a new culture of food. Initially, I was impressed at the appearance and authenticity of the food. I had quite high expectations when I ordered a supppsedly 'delicous' chicken shawarma wrap. However, I was utterly dissapointed, the server didn't even listen to the food I wanted and wasn't even wearing gloves. I noticed that the spoon used to serve was present with old pieces of chicken. I asked for no hummous, yet my request was denied. Also the garlic and salad overpowered the greasy chicken; oil flooded from the wrap. Additionally, for the majority of the time I ate paper stuck on to the wrap. Afterwards I had intense stomach aches and the repugnant after taste was omnipresent. My experience was extremely repulsive and I regret to inform you that I will never go here again.

Known this place since 2012 but haven’t been in a while as I moved. Had dinner there with a friend - huge portions (they kindly offer to pack your leftovers), tasty food, reasonable prices and staff are so friendly. Came back in two days - halloumi and falafel wrap genuinely impressed me!

This place is consistently good. Surely the bad reviews are being confused with 'Damascus Bite' near Commercial Road? This one is 'Damascu Bite' and is where Bishopsgate off Liverpool Street meets Shoreditch High Street. Chicken Shish is to die for. Surely kebabs don't get much better than this?

Walked into shop and asked for chicken nuggets and got told that this is not McDonald’s, boyfriend then decided to order chicken wrap and reported that this was vile, I then proceeded to taste the chips which was a total let down. All in all please avoid find your nearest wimpy/mcdknalds/Burger King/Pizza Hut/Pizza express/deans diner/ 10 minutes walk to McDonald’s conerrical road value for money and at least they sell chicken nuggets

Service un peu long mais personnel très sympa, on a bien mangé mais humus un peu trop huileux à mon goût... Si j'ai l'occasion j'y reviendrai pour goûter d'autres choses !

Llegamos de pasada, ya que andábamos viendo el mall de containers, nos pareció muy limpio y se veía buena la comida arabe , comimos muy bien y atendidos por su propio dueño, muy barato y los mejores kebabb que me comí

Dos bobinas de carne Shawama perfectamente bien tostado en todas sus marinading meatiness - cordero de £4 sillones mullidos. 50 y el pollo de 4 libras (pequeño), todo en un pan tostado con lo que la ensalada que quieras.

He comido un montón de shawarma. He estado en Egipto, Túnez, Marruecos, Argelia, Jordania y el Líbano. No estoy diciendo que Damascu tiene el mejor shawarma en el mundo. Pero puedo decir que este es el mejor shawarma en el REINO UNIDO. Y en sólo 4 libras, no se puede argumentar. Pollo y cordero, el cordero de opciones es excelente.

Conocimos a un viejo amigo para cenar después del trabajo. La comida era a un precio razonable y decentes porciones tamaño - el servicio era super amable, como normalmente es con este tipo de establecimientos. Porque es en el interior, la shisha era electrónica (vape en vez de melaza con carbón) que sólo nos molestó un conocedor como yo, pero no lo suficiente como para impedir una segunda visita. Sin duda lo recomiendo si te apetece una alta calidad kebab y falafel!

Había estado pasando esta tienda de comida para llevar durante muchos años cuando se siente particularmente hambre a altas horas de la noche me llamó y pedí un cordero kebabs. La carne estaba a la parrilla a la orden por el simpático chef y nos pusieron en una envoltura blanco plana y atestado con ensalada y cubierto por una variedad de salsa. El kebab es entonces por expertos selladas y cuesta alrededor de £5. La carne era particularmente suculentos y me sentí lleno después de haber comido los kebabs. Bien vale la pena el 10 minutos de espera. Hay un par de taburetes para sentarse en su interior y hay un banco en fuera de la tienda. El antídoto a los dueños de las tiendas kebabs para llevar de Mill que sirven sin sabor rellenos en anodino y pan pitta inferiores. Hay muchas líneas de autobús pase la tienda Liverpool Street y Shoreditch y las estaciones de tren están en las inmediaciones. Las opciones vegetarianas disponibles. Vale la pena visitar.

Brilliant little kebab shop, an essential resource for anyone looking for a kebab in that part of town.

I came here twice and both times got a lovely shawarma. Pretty good value as well. If your in Shoreditch worth a look.

After what seemed like a nice place for a cup of tea with friends, we were hugely dissapointed when we were accused of not paying when having left the cafe. Having paid straight away when we ordered our tea, we were insulted to be chased after by the owner of the cafe accusing us of not paying for the service. Shouting at us in the middle of the street, he claimed that the waitress who served us (who had by now left home after finishing her shift), said we had not paid. The owner said we owed £7.50, when we had in fact been charged £8.50. So not only did we pay too much, the waitress had clearly made herself quite a tip before finishing work that day. Perhaps the owner thought he would embarrass us with his abrupt accusations in the middle of the street, but instead he completely ruined his own reputation. Would not recommend and would warn all my friends against visiting this place.

It's pretty difficult to find good middle eastern food in London but this was very enjoyable. Good falafel and halloumi wrap with nicely spiced cous cous! Friendly service too! Will visit again if in area!

I really like the falafel and mezze at this place. Would definitely recommend it for lunch and dinner. On a night out the falafel wrap lines the stomach nicely :(

With a selection of lamb or chicken shwarma, chicken or lamb shish or lamb kofta or haloumi in a toasted wrap or with chips or rice, and of course the usual burgers, the menu is not vast however the food served is of a much higher standard than the average kebab shop or any of the fast food chains. The selection of salad is ample and it's all very fresh. I found the service to be prompt and friendly. This Syrian takeaway is open on Sunday to Thursday until 2am and on Friday, Saturday it's open until 5am.

was introduced to this place a while ago and have been going every since. big fan of shawarmas and i personally think this is the best in london. if ever friends come in from abroad i try and bring them here. if i won the lottery i would make sure these guys stay open forever.

The shwarma is better than average - made by themselves according to the member of staff who served me. Very juicy unlike some shwarma which can be very dry. The chicken kebab is tasty also. I've always found the staff to be very polite and courteous. Prices are in line with other takeaways in the area.

Very upset - so please forgive my wordiness in this review.Ordered food, friendly polite banter, paid for my food (there was a witness to that I had paid and their video recording would also show that I had paid)Food was cooked and bagged then this criminal told me I had to pay for the foodI though he must have forgotten, the other witness present also told him I had already paid for my foodHe insisted I had notI then pointed to his camera and asked him to review his film so he could see that I had indeed already paidHe claimed he did not have the password for this film in that if I waited while he.was dealt with some of the other customers he would call and get the passwordI waited He then said he couldn't call anyone and get the password and he became very rudeFurther incident occurred and I ended up leaving very upsetI highly do not recommend this establishment as they hire people who perform theftWe all make mistakes, but he obviously didn't make a mistake, as he refused to review the video recording to see that I had already paid.

Best Lamb Shwarma Kebab. Graet flavour. Great meat. Fresh and Juicy. Prices are very good. We tryed both Shwarma and kebab.
