Dakota Bar and Grill in North Lanarkshire

Just had Mothers Day Lunch and haven’t been to a place that I couldn’t fault anything for such a long time…. But today these guys got it so right! Service was friendly and attentive. We were on the cocktails and they were timely and delicious. The food was spot on and nothing was a bother. Thanks guys.

Amazing little find. Food was excellent, and the staff were so friendly. The setting and atmosphere is great, loved the dark trendy vibe it has. If you appreciate good food then you must try it.

We decided to book a night and dinner as a wee treat to ourselves. We’ve stayed here before and really enjoyed it. The staff are excellent and make the place even more special. I have to call out Jordan that works in the bar serving customers. He is naturally friendly, professional and courteous. He is an asset to the team. Meal was lovely and we reserved the lovely sofa in front of the fire after dinner. However there was a couple sat there but we mentioned it to the staff. They were very polite to the couple and let them finish their drinks. Jordan again handled it brilliantly. When they left the staff plumped up the cushions, lite candles and asked us through, it was lovely. Then to make it even better they brought us a free glass of fizz and some chocolates to apologise. It didn’t need an apology in our view but this was them going above and beyond. Breakfast was amazing, products high quality and cooked to perfection. Fully recommended.

Had an amazing nights stay. Was welcomed by a lovely, friendly staff member called Morgan. Morgan was well spoken, bright and well presented. All information that was given was so clear. Room lovely and clean and well presented. Food in restaurant was piping hot and well presented. Staff in restaurant were very polite and kind also. People we met that we got names were, Daniel, jack and there were 3 lovely ladies attending to guests. It was both my husband my myself birthday and all was perfect. Christine and james keltie

I visited on the 22.12.23 with my family for birthday/Christmas celebrations. The ambience, Staff friendliness and welcome was second to none. Niamh deserves a special mention for her exceptional good cheer, care attentiveness and generosity. Thank you so much and we will be back asap xxx

Steak, great. Curried fish too oily and overly complex flavours; needs to be simplified. Service, what on Earth! Asked for cocktail menus twice, cocktails only arrived after chasing them. But our waitress, Rebecca was sooooo slowwwwww.

The staff, food, service and privacy of the Dakota is 5 stars. Rachel the restaurant manager and her team treat you like a vip. Everything is down with professionalism and myself, husband and children had a wonderful time.

I have used the hotel in the past and on my most recent visit I came for drinks with friends, and I have to say this experience was NOT up to the usual standard of Dakota. The drinks themselves were fabulous, I want to thank Jason from the bar for his recommendations, they were delicious! While the customer service I recieved from most of the staff was amazing, I had a terrible encounter with one member of staff who was clearly too busy to be asked a simple question. I understand that it was likely a busy evening and I will assume they were understaffed but that is no excuse for service like that. I woud caution the managers in future against training their supervisors to have better customer service than this as I am now hesitant to return.

Lunch was outstanding! Olivia our server was so welcoming and very knowledgeable about our food choices. Rachel the restaurant manager was very professional and we think her for the special touches on our 40th anniversary. We did not catch the events manager’s name but thanks to her!Thanks to all especially the chef who never disappoints. Hope to see you all very soon!!!

Wonderful meal again. Totally delicious. The staff were friendly and efficient. The atmosphere was alive with chatter. The small piece of chocolate brownie with my coffee also deserves a mention of its own... it was fantastically chocolatey, smooth and delicious ! Loved it all.

The bar staff were excellent in particular Jordan, who was friendly, had a great knowledge of the new cocktail menu and never left you waiting for service. His supervisor Daniel was also very attentive and made superb cocktails. Highly recommended.

A return to happy times at this hotel and grill. From the treats in the room through to fantastic steaks in the Grill. The Friday package was great value. New breakfast menu was superb. Thank you to Connor for delivering a surprise to the room too🥂. Murren’s note has been kept special by us.

Such a lovely hotel, filled with very friendly and accommodating staff. We received a very warm welcome at reception when we arrived, the girl behind the desk was lovely. Then we went for dinner and the staff in the restaurant were amazing, so helpful and made sure we have the best evening. 10/10 will definitely return to this hotel

Evening meal tonight in bar and grill :- starter quality excellent but overpriced ( £ 18 for two scallops ! ), fish and chips OK ie chips good but batter on fish too gloopy/soggy ( give £ 18 price expected better ) Desserts nice and reasonably priced. Staff excellent. Wouldn't go out my way to go back again

Staff at reception on arrival very helpful and efficient. We booked a table in the restaurant that evening for 7.30 pm, arriving on time. We were told to sit and not shown to our table for another ten minutes. Service was extremely slow and we waited almost an hour for our meal, despite asking and being told several times ‘it’s on its way’. Food tasty but very small portions, Waldorf salad extremely disappointing, consisting mainly of chicory leaves with a piece of blue cheese smaller than a thumbnail. However, they did remove the cost of this from the bill when we complained.

Great wine, good food, perfect service

I recently dined at Dakota restaurant and I have to say, I found the overall experience to be just average. While the food and roast were decent, they didn't particularly stand out. I was hoping for more in terms of flavor and presentation. Unfortunately, the service lacked friendliness and warmth. The staff seemed indifferent and didn't go out of their way to make us feel welcome. Additionally, the seating was uncomfortable, which detracted from the overall dining experience. I also noticed that the restaurant wasn't very child-friendly or family-friendly, which limited the options for families looking to enjoy a meal together. Overall, I left Dakota restaurant feeling underwhelmed and wouldn't rush to recommend it to others seeking a more enjoyable dining experience.

I loved the decor, I felt I was somewhere far away. The menu is decent and we shared chateaubriand which was absolutely stunning. We will be back with friends to have this again. The only negative was that toward the end of service the staff became a little less attentive and it became difficult to catch their attention.

The complimentary bread and tomato sauce was amazing, and all the courses are delicious too

This is simply the best hotel in Glasgow. I always stay here for work. Staff are superb in all areas I have contact with especially Abby (reception #5star) and Rebecca (room service #5star). A credit to the hotel. Thank you for always being so nice.

Give this place a wide berth they have entered into a deal with parking eye and I was told by the desk they had over 50 appeals to try and deal with people just entering the car park turning around and getting fined £100. Shame Dakota is tarnishing there brand entering a partnership with a parasitic parking company.

Nice environment and good food. I had the steak which was cooked to perfection. Good choice of wines too. A little expensive, but nice for a special occasion.

Ordered a dish with chanterelle mushrooms but received a dish with button mushrooms. Sent the dish back and it came back out, as if I was expected to accept it. Ordered pork to replace the dish, and this dish was a poorly thought out mess. I question the ability of the chefs in developing a menu and cooking to an acceptable standard. Service was so bad when I said the overall deliverable was not to standard they still added a 10% service charge. If you want a nice evening with good standards don't go here.

First Class Service & Food Definitely one of our favourite restaurants in Glasgow, the service was first class & the food Delicious with a good selection for a variety of diets including our gluten free guests. Would highly recommend

I travel a lot for work and there are very few hotels I'd be happy to come to stay in outside of work but this is the one... the food is fantastic. Amazing breakfast and dinner was absolutely delicious. Staff are excellent too. Really relaxing

Fabulous welcome and very attentive staff. Especially the very polite and helpful Kieran. He had some excellent recommendations with regard to food and drink. Meal, sides and drinks all complemented each other perfectly. Overall an unforgettable dining experience with cocktails in a relaxing atmosphere. We'll be back!

Long overdue meal out, fillet steak was cooked perfectly, sides were all great. Staff very attentive and restaurant is very nice generally.

We stayed on a Thursday night, during level 3 restrictions. We had such a wonderful time, the staff were lovely and nothing was too much bother for them. We ordered cocktails and pints to our room and the were delivered promptly by wonderful staff! We ate in the grill and the food was outstanding! We will most definitely be back!

I’ve had to use different hotels over the last few months whilst travelling on essential business, and I’m delighted to be able to stay at Dakota again. As always, the staff are extremely attentive and welcoming. Food was excellent and I look forward to being able to enjoy a glass of wine when restrictions lift further in the future. There was a very minor mix up with my order one evening. The young woman serving me dealt with it quickly, without undue fuss, and if anything it demonstrated her fantastic customer care more than already demonstrated. She was a credit to the hotel and her colleagues. I will be an increasingly regular business visitor to the area, and the Dakota will be my first choice. Thank you.

For the first year ever as a family we decided to eat out on Christmas Day and it was definitely worth it. The food was spectacular, the service was 5 star and the atmosphere was exactly what we wanted.

We had a most enjoyable lunch on 18th December. We were looked after by the very pleasant and attentive Charlaye. Food was excellent. Look forward to returning in the New year.Would thoroughly recommend the Bar and Grill.

We stayed on a DBB celebrate package. We upgraded to an executive room. We have stayed at this hotel on several occasions and we are never disappointed. Rooms are beautiful. Restaurant food is delicious. Staff were helpful and friendly especially Tayler who was our server at dinner. I can't wait to return.

Had dinner here last night. Everything was perfect. 4 adults and 1 child all adults had steaks they were cooked to perfection. The service was brilliant too the staff were very personable and helpful. One of the best meals we have a had in a while. Dakota is definitely worth a visit.

Ambience suited my husband and I perfectly. Meal was most enjoyable especially my husband's fillet steak which the kitchen cut up for him making it much easier for him as he has an upper limb dissability so thank you very much. The only disappointment was not being able to have a glass of wine due to Corona virus restrictions .

We came for lunch just after the hotel was reduced to level 3 covid.We were a table of 3 and there was only 2 other tables in the restaurantThe service was excellent but unfortunately one of the meals was served with Luke warm chips which was really surprising as there were no other tables to serve!Bit of lacking in the kitchen just because they were quite.

Excellent food, starters were great, i had the duck salad and my husband had their new crab. Mains are so tasty, and my husband said that the fillet steak was perfectly cooked(rare). I had the roast turkey and veg, its all yummy but i wish there was a bit more sauce on it. And the dessert, I've had for the first time the pumpkin pie and was surprised that it's really good, the caramelised pumpkin seeds made it more interesting. Charlaye gave us a great service and she's friendly. Overall happy customer. Defo coming back

Must have been an off night .Seemed to be short staffed if I’m honest .Waited 45 minutes in total before we even had our 1st course .Main meals came & were mid to Luke warm .The turkey dish was disappointing.Didn’t sent back as by that time had been in almost 1.5hours .Hasn’t put us off as always been excellent meal before .

For the first time since visiting Dakota a few year's ago I was disappointed in my meal. The main wasn't hot and was quite underwhelming. This was a shame as I normally love the food and can't fault it. Maybe a result of pandemic as service very slow also. In saying that starter was tasty, pudding ok but not much of it. Not sure if I'll return anytime soon.

Stayed in an executive room and ate in the restaurant. As usual the service was outstanding, the food was delicious and the room was quite and the bed was superb.

High quality food in very nice surroundings with great service. Skeleton staff because of Covid restrictions but this did not impact the speed of arrival of the courses and drinks. Very relaxed atmosphere. Thanks to Tayler for looking after us.

I visited with my wife and another couple for a lat Sunday Lunch. Service was friendly and relaxed. Food was tremendous, from the goats cheese bread dip, duck salad to a wonderful cod dish. My fellow diners all ate the roast beef special, which was perfectly cooked and tremendous value. A super afternoon, concluding with coffee n front of the open fire in reception.We will return

Booked a last minute night away after new covid restrictions forced us to cancel our planned trip away. Room was good and both our dinner and breakfast were excellent but it was the staff that really made it, every single one of them was fantastic, could not praise them highly enough. I had the pleasure of staying at Dakota over the weekend with my partner. Staff were incredibly attentive and following all covid procedures to a T, we felt really safe. Our meal in the Grill was outstanding, the waiting staff were fantastic and very knowledgeable. Really looking forward to my return!

Booked in for an overnight stay, dinner & breakfast for my birthday and was totally blown away by the service and standard of the Dakota. The food was incredible, I ordered the roast cod for dinner and I’m still thinking about the accompanying sauce. Was incredibly well looked after by the staff who were so attentive, nothing seemed like too much bother. A lovely wee escape from the current chaotic reality.

Great overnight stay. Been a guest of this hotel almost since it opened. Spent our wedding night here too almost 11 years ago. Spotless, great food and such a lovely, relaxing experience. We love dining at Dakota Eurocentral when we choose to have dinner and perhaps not an overnight also.

We were booked for an overnight and a meal in the Bar and Grill and our service from start to finish was of a different class. Food was absolutely amazing, our steaks were all cooked to perfection and we were recommended the most amazing lemon bon bon mocktails which tasted like the real deal!! Diane and Louise were both absolute stars and catered to our every need. As always, with Dakota Eurocentral we will be back again!

Absolutely beautiful, we booked the date night every night deal which was such good value. Staff were very helpful, even explained about the loyalty app and saved us £10 off our bill. Food was so amazing, highly recommend the crispy duck salad! Room was very nice and of decent size. Due to the current situation we felt completely safe and everywhere was spotless. Having recently had a baby & enjoying our first night away child free this was perfect and we will definitely be returning again.

Needed to get away but stay within Lanarkshire. Treated myself and my daughter to a cheeky overnight and a meal.The room was delightful, staff helpful and friendly, Covid 19 hygiene standards excellent (and I should know,I'm a nurse) and the steak was perfect!Hope to be back soon.Makes local lockdown bearable! Felt very safe as we observed the careful management of table setting and movement of guests around the reception area. Somewhat bland menu, but good fare when it came. My lemon sole could have done with less butter bu enjoyable all the same.

Terrible service told to wait in the lobby until table was ready then ignored and mistreated in a so called 5 star hotel steak was wrong service amateurish at best made to feel unwelcome by inexperienced staff and hurried out the door very very disappointed as the hotel has seriously went downhill won’t be back and will pass on our treatment to others

A lovely relaxing evening with good food! Charlie was our waitress and she was very polite and helpful. It turns out I love pumpkin pie and was glad she recommended it. The response to Covid was very good by the staff with the tables and chairs being wiped after every customer.

My and my husband booked the Friday night deal which included room, £20 each towards dinner, a cocktail and breakfast!The room was spotless!Reception staff were friendly and welcoming. Dinner was first class, food is amazing, and the bar staff made me a cocktail which wasn't on the menu, nothing was too much trouble. Staying at this hotel made me forget about all the issues going on in the world, its like walking in to another world!I would definitely recommend to anyone looking to stay here, book now!

Took my parents for Sunday lunch. Been a few times and as always, great service, great food and great atmosphere. And with the current social distancing restrictions everywhere felt safe and spotless. Looking forward to coming back soon.

Have been a few times but went for a birthday lunch this time m,Place is lovely, clean , staff are polite and professional and always on point , couldn’t rate it better they even brought out some complimentary happy birthday dessert

The service was a bit slow but we appreciate that we are currently in such difficult circumstances and this puts strain on the service. Despite this, staff were extremely friendly and catered to our needs. The food and drinks were lovely. We felt very safe as the hotel and staff were very aware of Covid policies and practices and followed them, as well as encouraging guests to follow them. Everyone kept social distance and we felt at ease.We were a bit perplexed at having half a Slice of black pudding and half a slice of haggis at breakfast but no big deal.Our biggest gripe was that the room (417) was absolutely freezing cold. We put the air con up to 30 degrees and on full, but it was just blowing out cold air. It was difficult to sleep during the night as we were so cold.Cleanliness was second to none in every area of the hotel.

Staff and food were very good unfortunately our room had the remnants of the previous occupants last remaining loo roll which was not enough for a very small episode ie and to rubb salt into the wounded still more four tissues lurked in the box and were dispatched to ease the problem .This was late on and past most people's bed time therefore calls to reception wuold have alerted my wife who was oblivious to all of this ,until she awoke and readied her self for breakfast and didnt in the least have any sort of amusement when i said loo roll non existent and go if urgent to convenience on groud floor which she did as you know when you need to go you need to go!!!.It was funny to our friends who also stayed overnight without any issues and made for interesting breakfast talk.

Eaten in the restaurant many times and always had very good food - tasty, fresh and with very good service. Eat there again this week after a break of many months due to lockdown. Very nice evening with our friends (2 households max) and overall very good food apart from one meal which was very very ordinary - it was the mushroom Tagliatelle with truffle. Completely tasteless - poor presentation. Eat about 1/4 but this was not picked up by the waiter when she took the plate and I didn't complain as we were out with bets friends. I often eat the vegetarian option and was very disappointed with this.

An excellent experience from arrival until departure. I was there with friends to celebrate a birthday. Food and service were excellent and we weren’t limited to the time at the table.

2nd visit in weeks, very enjoyable, but a little inconsistent as no bread and sauce appetiser offered on the 2nd visit ? Also the Frito Misto dish was half the size again on the 2nd visit. Both dishes were redone thankfully, so all good

We have stayed at this hotel many times and we absolutely love it.We had a fabulous meal in the restaurant with very attentive and safe service.

Great food can't fault it and served by the lovely Charlie who was a delight, but overnight spoilt again by blocked wash hand basin in toilet which meant we had to brush teeth and everything else in the shower, but staff are excellent we did inform them on checkout in the morning

Had a table booked for 20:00 for 6 people for my wifes birthday, only got to the table for 21:15 after chasing several times.It meant that we were all hungry and had more drinks than we were hoping for before dinner and put an edge on the night.Serves was good after that.

Excellent service by the young team, from the reception desk to the serving staff. We have been many times but this is the first time we felt the hotel was over full. People were struggling to find seats on the Saturday night for a drink and we waited an hour and a half for an ice bucket in our room, this was after three phone calls to reception. Other than that the food was excellent as always, the staff look and behave immaculately and the cocktails are superb. Love Euro Central and will be going back shortly.

We really cannot put into words how much we love Dakota Euro Central. All the staff as so attentive, food just delicious and ambience out of this world.We had the most delicious fish n chips.. the fish was so succulent and was melt in the mouth delicious, as was the roast chicken. It feels that the food is made with passion and served with real love.We will definately be back !Lesley and Russell Henry

So i was here last Wednesday and was so good I went back on Sunday. So this is 2 reviews. Food is excellent as is service. I had fillet steak first time and roast beef on Sunday. Both excellent and cooked to perfection my daughter had fish and chips twice lol which was also perfect. My parents had sirloin on the Sunday again cooked the way they wanted it.Only complaint is the price of drinks which are a bit dear but to be expected I suppose.

Hotel was different class, had an amazing stay with my girlfriend, steak was unreal also, would definitely book again

Check in slow. Check out slow. 1 person on desk. No "sorry for your wait". Struggled to hear her thanks to C19 measures. As you have no family rooms we used 2 rooms (greater expense). No twins, (which would be better when each adult is sleeping with 1 child). Only 1 towel in the room. Inevitable key failure. Reception told us there were more in a drawer under the bed but there were not. Dinner good, but heck its expensive. Drinks menu was wrong in places (size of a drink and poor spelling).

The Dakota delivers excellent service levels, really good rooms, relaxed atmosphere and top quality food
