Wow, my first visit to this little gem, friendly, light and airy with a great atmosphere, the food was amazing, had an amazing brunch served by the lovely Manager Flo, very knowledgeable, couldn’t decide from the extensive menu & she recommended the Daisy Grey special, smashed avocado, chilli, tomatoes, bacon on rye sourdough, and it was delicious. All the staff were happy and friendly, a sign of a well run establishment. As I was visiting also took a cinnamon bun to eat on my trading journey home, delicious. highly recommend, I will visit again when I’m back in town.

My son offered to take us for breakfast and we stopped outside Daisy Grey. It was quite late about 10am. The place was heaving. We managed to get a seat in the back on the sofa. We were served by a lovely young girl. At the first opportunity before our order was taken we changed tables to a round one when it became vacant. We were informed of a slight delay in the kitchen which was understandable as it was so busy. As I looked around I could see this was more than a place to eat. Mothers with young children reading newspapers while grazing over their food. Young men catching up with friends, business meeting and a dad with his daughter. The place had a nice vibe. We didn’t have to wait long. Our order was taken and I didn’t have an expectation. When my scrambled eggs and smoked salmon arrived I was surprised as there was no scrimping on the eggs. I really enjoyed my food. Good quality reasonably priced. Husband and son had a fry up and they enjoyed their food. Value for money and a nice ambiance.

We come 2 or 3 times a month. Food is delicious and fast, drinks are good quality and they do chai latte and matcha and tumeric latte, which are all delicious, no cheap powders it's good stuff and the baristas know what they are doing. All the cakes are hand made on site by the chef and are awesome, we even order their cakes for birthday events, the carrot cake is one of our faves as it the Guinness cake The new chunky donuts are great and sweet and I'm sure they are calorific. The full English is great. The ingredients are all locally sourced and free range and organic; bacon, sausage and eggs are all top quality. Their apple juice is also very fresh and delicious, but you pay for the quality of the juice, its not cheap. However the rest of the menu is very reasonable. £5.60 for a bacon or sausage bap, other similar cafes charge a tenner for the same thing. Their homemade breaded chicken and homemade fish fingers are insanely good The staff are all well trained and welcoming. We usually get lucky and manage to find a table, however they do get very busy as they are so popular and next to Kelsey park. If you want to guarantee a table then go a bit later in the day, so go for lunch at 2pm rather than 1pm. Daisy Grey please keep being great!

Another delicious lunch with all the family. Staff were really quick to serve us and very friendly. Particularly good for the kids as there are crayons and paper to keep them amused as well as a kids menu. Love it here.

Absolutely terrible service with miserable staff. They normally say no to reserving a table but every now and then you see a reserved sign on a table and it stays empty for ages…. It’s such a shame as the chef must be very good because the food is very tasty. I live very local and keep giving it chances but it is still the same each time 😞

Awful service, no acknowledgement from anyone when we walked in, had to go and ask for a menu after being sat there for five minutes and was sat there for another 15 without anyone coming over to take our order. Probably shouldn’t have a sign saying ‘Table Service’ if no one is going to come to the table. I could understand if it was busy but there were about four other tables maximum at the time. Ended up walking out as it was clear even after making eye contact with several members of staff, that no one was going to bother coming over.

This cafe was a delight. From start to finish I thoroughly enjoyed my experience. I had the most delicious matcha iced latte and almond croissant in the garden area - I can not fault either. I was especially pleased with my waitress’ demeanour, I recall her name being Florence. I was very impressed by her friendliness and enthusiasm for the cafe, whilst also having warm, kind welcomes from the rest of the staff. Would whole heartedly recommend.

D G used to be our favourite local cafe - interesting food and excellent attentive, service. Now the staff seem sloppily dressed and the attitude of the men in particular appear lazy and disinterested. Yesterday someone vaguely waved me towards a table and I had to wait a full 10 mins before I could attract attention to place my order. There seem to be plenty of staff standing around but they are chatting to each other, drinking their own coffees. It is just such a pity as it’s a good site and it has been so good in the past

Daisy Grey, a pretty perfect spot for Breakfast, Brunch & Lunch! A nice spacious spot for a bite to eat or a cup of coffee, child and dog friendly! They have a garden area as well, which is spacious and well covered for a rainy day! I had the Daisy Grey special £6.60 and added scrambled eggs £2.40 - this was yummy, I would've enjoyed a poached egg with this but scrambled complimented the dish too! My friend had American Pancakes with berries & Syrup £6, she added crispy bacon £1.60 She enjoyed this but the bottom pancake was a little soggy due to the syrup, so a tip to have the syrup in a jug for you to pour your desired amount! Overall, it was a lovely spot for a catch up and yummy brunch and would recommend!

Food is nice, in parts as some corners seem to be cut. Service is average and inattentive at best. Have to ask for everything... For the prices charged for just breakfasts you would expect a lot more.

Have visited this cafe on several occasions and have always been happy with service & food . However on visiting at the weekend it wasn’t the same level of service . We had a family dog with us & asked the young girl whether the garden area was available . We were answered with an ubrupt ‘no it isn’t’ . She then told us no dogs allowed inside . Which obviously we totally agree about , . But we noticed an elderly lady enjoying lunch inside with a dog sitting at her feet !!!!! I was extremely surprised to see this . When we questioned this we were told she’d get the manager . We told her not to worry we’d eat somewhere else . So obviously there appear some rules for some & not others . I noticed as we walked past later same lady with dog inside still. It’s a shame as I always enjoy the coffee & food here . Felt we weren’t welcome at all .,

Friends recommended Daisy Grey so we tried an early lunch. They serve breakfast all day so I had the English Breakfast. Very, very tasty! Even the gluen-free bread was delish. Treacle bacon was especially nice, and the plate wasn't half-covered with beans. Good value at £9. BUT - table service was slow and we had about a 10-15 minute wait for coffees then for breakfast.

The lemon meringue cake was such a tiny slice we spoke with the staff who were lovely and apologetic and explained the manager had insisted that due to the high cost of baking the sponge for this cake the smaller portion was to reflect this! £3.50 a slither. The manager approached our table and said the lemon cake is expensive to bake! All a bit of an odd situation. No comparison to close by West Wickham’s good choice of great eateries such as Corza, Kitchen and Primo Cafe. Girls working at Daisy Grey are really nice and I completely understand they have to follow the rules.

Visited here for the first time today to meet a good friend and both of us thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Opted for pots of lovely loose leaf tea accompanied by vegan superfood salad with halloumi and Orange polenta cake. All food and drink was served promptly, hot and tasty. Menu is good and varied, accommodating for quite a few tastes and well priced. Service was polite and also prompt. Judging by the fact that this great independent venue was virtually full, many other customers also share our experience and we will certainly be returning here again.

Having said how nice this place is (based on many previous weekday visits) we took our daughter to breakfast when she visited us this weekend. We had to ask when our breakfast would be coming as we had waiting a long while and drunk our tea and coffee. The waitress went to ask and then came back with our order. By this time my husband had to leave so we asked for his to be put into a take-away container. My daughter said to the waitress that we had waited half and hour for breakfast and could she pass that info on. The male senior member of staff, who has always been so friendly on previous visits, came over to say that he had been told we wanted to speak to him....we hadn't. He pointed out that we had only waited 20 minutes, which was the usual wait time. He also said the garden area was busy. The main cafe area was not busy then. My daughter said we could have been told that earlier or there should be a sign. Actually we didn't want a conversation, just a nice family breakfast together. While we were waiting to pay the bill the two potential customers next to us left, without being served and another couple had the wrong order given to them and then seemed to have issues when another set of plates arrived. The food was lovely, as usual, but sadly we, and possibly others, will not be coming back......on a Sunday.

Visited a few weeks ago with a friend a loved this place, food was delicious, lovely staff had a great visit. However, I visited today and it's really a shame to say I felt it had gone downhill. The food was really greasy, the coffee was cold, I didn't even get the extras I added with my lunch. The young lady who served us had such an attitude, asked us what we wanted before even giving us a menu then when we asked for a few minutes rolled her eyes and sloughed off. There were 3 young members of staff who were all very lapse just standing around by the till to actually get another tea we had to do up to get their attention. Gave the place a really uncomfortable atmosphere. Sad to say I probably won't be visiting again.

I am a regular at Daisy Grey and have been since it started, the coffee and food has never disappointed, yes you pay more then a typical cafe and if you like that cuisine then maybe this isn’t the place for you. But if you want strong coffee and nice array of teas and tasty food then this play is for you. The staff are really friendly and talkative, I always look forward to going to Daisy Grey.

I loved this place, the staff were so friendly and lovely, coffee was amazing and the food great as well. But something has happened recently since the lovely manager went off on his travels. Staff just stand around chatting so you are waiting ages to order; menus used to be presented on a lovely clipboard, but now now you just get a crumpled bit of paper...; sadly I don’t think I am the only person who feels this way as before it used to be packed, and now it is mostly empty! The friendly atmosphere seems to have disappeared. I feel like I’m in a chain coffee shop. Luckily the coffee remains the same, but please please get better I want to come back!

This is the best hip coffee shop in Beckenham by far and beats any for miles around. The staff are lovely, in particular Amy with her amazing hair! A very warm welcome, great coffee and an interesting menu although we didn’t eat on this occasion we will be back and will not hesitate to recommend this cafe to friends. It is licensed if you need something stronger and there is ample space and facilities for buggys so I suspect it will be very popular with families. Glasses and a carafe of water brought to the table immediately and another positive, paper straws!!

Oh my goodness, what has happened to this fish bar?? Used to go there every Friday before I moved away from Biggin Hill, but what a shock I had last Friday getting fish & chips for my elderly mother. Slow service with miserable faces, very dirty uniforms being worn by the staff, hair not tied back fully on one of the girls serving. Also, a very young boy helping behind the counter, which surely must be a Health & Safety concern with all the boiling fat!!! Safe to say, I won't be returning to Salisbury's Fish Bar, Main Road, Biggin Hill again :0(

This place has the potential to be a nice pub but based on my personal experience, we will sadly not be returning. It was a sunny afternoon and we decided to come to Downe Village for a nice pub lunch. I noticed there were people eating inside and nobody was seated outside. With it being a sunny day, we thought nothing of it and decided to sit in the beer garden. Within minutes of our food arriving, a black fluffy cat jumped onto the table, stuck it's bum in my face and started eating my food! I tried to shoo it off but it wouldn't budge and I'm allergic to cats. When I went inside to tell a member of staff, her response was "it lives in the garden. Just shoo it away." But it never went away so I went back inside again to tell them and it took her forever to do anything about it. By the time she came out, the cat had eaten half of my food. I appreciate there's not a lot they can do but atleast come out and pick up the cat and take it elsewhere if a paying customer complains they're allergic! Not only that, when I got home, I checked my card statement and noticed they had taken 10% service charge which wasn't shown on the receipt (only food and drinks.) I think that's rather cheeky considering there was no table service - we brought our own food, drinks, cutlery and condiments to the garden table and afterwards I even took the dirty dishes back with the cat's leftovers. A very disappointing visit.
