We are still sat at the table leaving this review !!!!! Couldn't fault it. The staff were so welcoming - especially our waitress who's name we didnt catch (sorry!). And the food was outstanding. Everything cooked to perfection. Highly recommend

This is our favourite restaurant for so many reasons. The food is outstanding, excellent service, and friendly staff, such a joy.

What a great find! At the edge of the waterside with a delicious menu of home cooked local produce, washed down with a crisp Zinfandel rose - what could be better!

For a perfect meal out in a beautiful setting, wonderful staff and service. The restaurant is on Sketrick Island, so it's surrounded by the sea and such calming views, you feel you are really in another world.

Out for a drive around strangford and booked this restaurant based on friends' recommendations. Beautiful food and great service, with views to die for. Roast lamb was best I've had in years as was wifes scampi. Back soon

We visit this restaurant regularly, always an amazing experience. Last Wednesday we sampled the Christmas lunch, wonderful selection to choose from. We highly recommend the Smoked salmon timbale with prawn and dill cream cheese. For main we had Co.Down turkey with Givan's baked ham, with pork and herb stuffing. Fabulous 🙂 Black Forest cheesecake for hubby, and Christmas pudding and brandy sauce for me,ticked every box. All for 29-95. Do enjoy.

Took my family for my wife’s birthday. Could not fault the food or service but a table of men below us were very loud. That’s ok but then one of them started swearing and laughing out loud. I asked them to moderate their language and was called a dick***d. Spoke to manager who did speak with them but to no avail. We couldn’t hear ourselves talking at our table. I heard another table complain to them. We paid and on leaving the loud obnoxious one shouted at my wife and I. I went and spoke with him personally and told him he ignorant to which he shouted “cheerio”.. we would have spent more time here and listened to the live music but left as a family due to the behaviour of this table. Sorry about this review it is a shame that my wife’s birthday dinner was ruined.

This was my first visit to Daft Eddys after hearing many good reviews from family and friends over the years and unfortunately I’m not sure I’ll be rushing back. We visited for a family dinner, and thought the venue was beautiful. The staff were friendly and I have to say their service was excellent and food arrived fairly fast. Unfortunately the letdown was another table there who were extremely loud, obnoxious and rude. While my father did ask them politely to keep it down as they were loudly swearing they instead turned round and called my father a d*ckhead and informed us they’d just swear more. At this point we then complained to the staff and asked if they could have a word - I didn’t see anyone do so. Having the rest of the night go on with them getting worse, it was topped off when we were leaving, by being met with a loud sarcastic’CHEERIO’ from the worst customer at that table. While I can’t blame the staff for other people’s behaviour, the lack of action in even speaking to them about it said it all for me, and definitely ruined the first visit and evening for me. If such rude behaviour is allowed from one table to another, it has also put me off returning or recommending it to others.

Had a wonderful lunch. Everything on the plate was so tasty. Starter mains and sweet.Service was on point. Cannot fault anything.

This was Duckies first visit to Daft Eddys, there was lots of choices for where dogs cause sit, lots of benches on the grass, upstairs seating area, a covered outdoor section and we were told dogs are allowed inside in some areas which is great, all the staff we spoke with where supper friendly and they even gave Duckie a bowl of water unprompted which was so nice. Will 100% be making a point to come back. The food was also really nice and reasonably priced.

This restaurant is off the beaten track but if you want a drive to a restaurant with outstanding views this is for you! This restaurant on a warm sunny day has the plenty off outside seating. The staff here always seem rushed off there feet but nothing is too much trouble. Portion sizes are good and they are very patient with children. Starters and mains are very good. Deserts are average.

Steady pub food, nice friendly service and a decent pint Sit outside if the weathers right. Guinness is worth travelling for, sausage and champ lunch special is the best. All food is fresh and presented well

Met with family for lunch on Sunday and the staff were very attentive, food lovely and portions a good size however we were charged £21.00 extra for service charge which we didn't appreciate 😱

I have not been to Daft Eddy's for several years. I used to go here with a group of bikers, but the bike days are long over. As it was the bank holiday weekend, I had the time to pay it a visit again. I made a booking in advance, only to find out after a long drive, that there where no tables available as the people currently sitting, were not leaving quick enough. I was offered a table at the bar area which I accepted, however not ideal when you bring a family and the banter at the bar is not child friendly. We ordered our food and waited over forty minutes before it arrived. I think the staff realised that our meal had not arrived and they apologised for the delay as the table beside us that arrived twenty minutes after us were already eating. Would I come back again, yes, because the food was excellent and the staff at all times were very pleasant. The standard and freshness of the food served would make you return. Hopefully if I return, my booking will be honoured and the food will arrive a bit quicker. If this happens my next rating will go from four to five, as I think I arrived at a very busy time and day, due to the holiday period. If it was my business and I was unable to honour a booking, I would go out of my way to keep the customer happy, on this occasion, this was not the case and with the delay of being served, hence a rating of very good.

Went for lunch and could not have been more impressed. Staff, food, setting - tremendous. Special mention goes to the toffee & apple cheesecake, just delicious. Genuinely can't think of any bad points. Will definitely be back.

Such a beautiful place,food and service are always fantastic, I always try and go for a fish dish and I've never been disappointed, my partner had the fillet steak and said it was the nicest he has ever had! The staff are super friendly and always happy to help. Summer or winter I find it's just a relaxing place to be!

View was exceptional, everything was clean and very pretty. Nice birds and flowers. Disappointed in the quality of the food. Burger was dry and fish had that gooey bit between the batter and the fish. Onion rings were sub standard. 5/8 people on the table said the chips had a strange taste. The waiter was outstanding and extremely accommodating when we requested to move seats away from the bees. Lovely helpful guy. The waitress on the other hand, unhelpful. Daft Eddies have a policy where you cant order anything to the picnic tables out the front.

An amazing find on our tour around Strangford lough, recommended by our accommodation hosts . Cannot rate this place highly enough, the staff were super helpful, telling us about a walk around the island and other nearby spots to visit. The food was fabulous, a bit of a wait but this is a very busy place and not somewhere we were in a rush to leave anyway. Best dining experience we have had on our visit so far.

Extremely disappointed and shocked at rude behaviour of both staff members we had misfortune of encountering. The setting is beautiful and the food is great, we have eaten there in April with our children.such a pity the staff let the place down. We arrived and sat down outside and were browsing at some menus. The staff member approached and announced “I hope your not here to order food, lunch has just finished”. We asked if we could order some cold drinks as the weather was glorious, seemed like an inconvenience to him. Whilst waiting quite awhile on the drinks we move to a shaded area two tables away as the sun was intense and wanted to shade the children. Female staff member returned with the drinks and rudely scolded my husband like a child by loudly exclaiming “oh did you move tables, did you tell anybody!?” I know this sounds unbelievable but is exactly what happened. I asked her politely not to speak to us like that and she made excuses about people moving and it being busy. We paid for our drinks and swiftly left. Such a pity the staff are causing the business to lose custom in this way. We will not return and unfortunately cannot recommend this restaurant. There are other places not far away from here to spend hard earned money which we did. Avoid.

Been here for food years ago and it was pretty good. Came in for a coffee last week and was really disappointed by the rudeness of the staff. Although there was only one other person waiting, it took about 10 minutes for anyone to actually take my order, and even then they seemed inconvenienced. The staff seemed unhappy, which isn't very surprising as I could hear the senior staff being quite rude to other staff and another customer.
