The chicken curry here is immense.

I place an order when I visit my sister and we have no complaints. We have fish and chips but there is usually a meal included for one other. I can't fault the cost going by other fish bars, they're friendly over the phone and whilst delivering our order. We personally couldn't ask for anything more

I had a regular chips and a fish cake. Portion was quite good. However there was a hair in my chips. Waiting area could do with a referb. Staff were friendly. Cash only!

Me and my mum ordered 2 battered sausages with medium chips and it was lush but when you go make sure you've got cash because they don't accept card payments

Been there once and the food was amazing. Very friendly staff. Definitely could do with decorating inside though as it looks run down and not very appealing to customers.

Had the chicken curry rice & chips & omg it’s packed with chicken, so tasty & the sausage in batter is banging with chips & fruity curry 100% definitely comes second of my top 5 fish & chip shops in the valleys. Great staff. Keep up the good work guys. Big love for you all 💗

Usually a fave with the family. Unfortunately two hours of waiting the food was cold, the fish was very poor and the corned beef slice was unrecognisable. Would suggest collection as is always fresh. Sorry guys this was a let down.

Ordered chips from here they were so cold they might as well have been frozen. Also the delivery man had so much oil in his hair that he probably uses it to fry the chips.

The staff is amazing and friendly and the food is excellent

During the last year we have become frequent visitors to Porth, because it's a hidden gem with great supermarkets and independent shops on Hannah Street, as well as really friendly people. This is our third visit to the little "chippy on the hill". On this occasion we ordered 3 chip butties with curry sauce and a large bag of chips. The food was ready quickly and was great value for money. It was a nice day, so we walked up the mountain behind Heol Horeb to eat our dinner. The food was piping hot and tasted fantastic as always. After our dinner our son played with his football and kite for a few hours, before we took him to Porth Park. The Park was very clean with a few families enjoying the sunshine. On the way home we went shopping to Lidl's, Aldi's and Farm Foods.

I visited this chip shop last year for the first time and I was impressed with the food, the service and the portion sizes. Recently I was back in Porth to shop at Farm Foods and Morrisons and I remembered the "little chippy on the hill". This time I was by myself, so I ordered one of my favourites, fish and chips with friuty curry. The food was cooked fresh to order and was very reasonably priced. It was a dry day so I ate my food at nearby Ton Hywel Park (the person who served me told me about the Park). My dinner was delicious, the portion size was great, the chips were perfect and the fish had a lovely crispy batter. After I finished my food I popped back into the fish shop and ordered a sausage in batter and a steak and kidney pie with a large bag of chips for my partner and son who were at home. I really can't wait to return, when I visit Bronwydd Park (Porth Park) or go shopping at Hannah Street or one of the many supermarkets.

Not had a bad meal to date , fish always cooked fresh , faultless. Staff always extremely pleasant. Best chippy in The Valleys 100%

Terrible customer service. I rung for food, it was 1hour yeah ok I understand there busy but I was ringing back to get a ruff idea on where my food was, for the owner EMMA to speak to me disgusting using bad language & to tell me the order is now cancelled. Terrible service.

Best Chicken Curry around Brilliant Service

We went to Porth for the first time and had a fabulous time shopping in Morrison's and exploring Hannah Street (street of shops) and Bronwydd Park (Porth Park). After visiting the park for about 3 hours we were looking for somewhere to eat when we stumbled across this little chippy located on a busy main road. We managed park almost outside and ordered sausage in batter and chips. The portion sizes were excellent and the food was very nice.

We are new to area, have been here and had a delivery. Lovely and friendly staff. Can't fault the food,excellent service.

Chips are dripping with grease not the best very poor infact! Suppose you pay for what you get (little tip drain your chips)

Friends recommended the fish shop so we took the plunge and boy are we glad we did. The portions are excellent and the chips were absolutely lovely along with really nice white cod in a light batter. This won't be our last visit, Highly recommended. 👍👌

Fab chippy lovely food great staff and reasonably priced

At the beginning of the month, when in the area, I introduced myself to the proprietor as I had a long standing connection with the business- having cut the potatoes into chips with a hand machine some 67 years previous!!! I was not on the scrounge for a complimentary hand out but could tell him more about the business and the ares than he ever knew when it was owned by the Lawrence family. My reception was indifferent and this disappointed me. I cannot comment on the quality of the food but I think that he could learn a lot from "public relations"

Arrived freezing cold and when I rang to complain , had the boss shouting in the back round demanding how was it cold and when I offered for them to come and see , they said I had attitude and slammed the phone down ! Will never use this establishment again avoid at all costs

I placed an order Thursday night to be collected.. and my husband walked in the shop to hear the owner and the girl working behind the counter having enough to say about myself and my 6 year old son!! Little did the owner know it was my husband who walked in to collect the food.. and obviously the girl working knows us so tried covering her tracks!! Haha jokes on you!! Husband picked up jumbo sausage chips and gravy and was absolutely delicious ! I haven’t had chip shop for months but this was a lovely welcome return.

Just had the hunters chicken delivered and omg it was lovely and really tasty, im on my third attempt it could feed 2 men 😋 the delivery came within 15mins and it was nice and hot.. highly recommend 10 out of 10 👐

I've been told that this fish and chips shop has fantastic food so i went there to buy some and they where right the best fish and chips I've eaten for years and also the staff and management team are ever so friendly it's well worth you're time to call in and give it a try

Fantstic chip shop. Friendly Staff couldnt do enough for us. Cooked everything fresh and even gave us a big bag to put everything in plus they're open everyday when most chip shops are shut. my new favourite chip shop 😁

Quick service and polite on the telephone when I called my order through. Hubby ordered a fish and I thought they’d made a mistake when I got home and started to put the meals out: they’d sent 2 big fish as they didn’t think one was big enough!! A double cheeseburger for £2.50 and the biggest chicken nuggets you’ve ever seen - you won’t get cheaper! And they deliver, too :)

Just had fish and chips, might as well have not had batter by the time I in-wrapped the fish all the batter was stuck to the “grease-proof” paper same with the chips which were shall we say “well done” Don’t think I’ll be going back here

Had a small Sunday lunch from here on Sunday just gone, got it for my son and daughter. I cant say anything else than Lovely. The meat fell apart, there was 4 types of vegetables as well as boiled pots, roast pots and roast parsnip( ok they were packet so were the roasties ) but still just as nice and the gravy was proper gravy not the fish shop stuff people have said they serve prior to me trying it. All in all a nice dinner, good in size for a small and good price. The large must be massive because the small serve 3 children. Lovley

...Complete trash, 2* rating for Hygeine should of been a "Warning" ! ... this place according to the woman behind the counter can only Microwave fish-cakes due to "Health n Safety" i kid you not ! ...The chips are rank & as for the frosted glass front on the display for items cooked so you can`t see what is actually ready to take out & ready is a complete joke !

It has very nice food at a low price
