Amazing little chip shop , we had the pleasure of ordering a takeaway from this place . The large chips were massive enough to feed a small army , the fish was freshly coooked to order too , happy to recommend this fish and chip shop.to anyone in the area!!

Always a great place when I come to my family to stay a few days. One of the special treats is Fish and Chips from here. Always plentiful and delicious.

Visiting South Wales for a week with my partner and her 2 teenagers. Got 2 x BIIIG fish and chips, doner kebab, cheesy chips, nuggets, sauces, the lot. All for £35. Spectacular fish and the best chips I've ever had. Absolutely bangin.

Wife had Kebab meat & chips, it had a gone off smell she couldn’t pin point whether it was the salad or the meat! Chips were all stuck together and under cooked! In the bin Never again! I had steak kidney pie chips & gravy! Omg totally dry pie inside no meat just pastry! With a blob of under cooked Chips How this place has got 5 rating I’ll never know

large group of us were touring the beautiful local area a month ago. popped in this place and ordered 60 meals to be collected later that evening as we were told this is a busy place. Once we came to collect there was indeed a long que outside, our meals were ready. Once we got back to camp each meal was beautifully packed in individual cardboard boxes. food was pipping hot, chips were crisp and fresh, irish curry was AMAZING! one of the only food outlets in the area that can handle large orders. thankyou boss man, hope to be back next year. BRAVO!

The chips always taste of fat and tasteless, the same with the gravy and curry sauce. The kebab gets sliced and then put on the grill so the kebab ends up being hard and rubbery.

very good covid safety measures in place. gutted no card payments are taken but i forgive them as our meals were fantastic as always. Keep up the great work guys

Great chippie, friendly service. Large portions. Food usually cooked to order, not left on shelves. Because of this waiting time can be a bit longer in peak periods. Food quality definitely worth the wait. Very clean - often see the staff cleaning and replacing drip trays while waiting for food to be cooked. Serve Fish,sausage, pies and pasties scampi along with special dishes. Kebab and salad - everything you would expect from a Welsh chip shop

Steadily been going down of late. Decided to treat the family to a chippy tea. Ordered for certain dietary restrictions which when we got back everything was all together where the meat was with the cheese and onion rissole making it inedible for this person spoiling their meal. Staff need retraining on whether to ask if customers want everything together or separate.

The fish and chips are excellent!!! I have not tried the other products, though I must say everything looks delicious! The food is not greasy/oily. Unfortunately the service last time I was there left a lot to be desired, when a member of the staff tuts when she has to cook me over £10 worth of fish and asks me if I really want the fish she now has to prepare for me and I'm in a fish shop it tends to ruffle my feathers a bit. I simply went to another fish bar that has served me with respect and in all honesty, better fish and chips as say unfortunate since the food is good. Hence reducing the rating to three stars.

By far the nicest donar kebab and chicken kebab in the area. Also a chippy with all the usual chippy food. Plenty of choices of sauce for kebab and various salad. They do burgers too.

We dont have been chip shop food (or any take-away food) often. But if we do, as a solution for an option that is an affordable treat that will satisfy the wide variety of the different individual preferences of each of my fussy family members- then Cwmphil Fish bar is the place we choose. There are no eat in facilities and it is very unusual to go there and not have to wait in a cue. This is not because the staff are slow at taking and making up customer's orders; it is simply because Cwmphil Fish Bar is very popular and has so many customers using it . Which, with a choice of so many fish+chip shops, Indian Chinese and other convenience food take-away and/or delivery services that are also open in the local area-is a true but reflection on the quality and value for money and friendly be service that Cwmphil Fish Bar provides. Making it so popular and always busy and full of customers. Parking is not difficult near Cwmphhil Fish Bar for those needing to drive to it. The shop front has been upgraded and undergone improvement in recent years and as you arrive at the Fish bar its clean, accessible, modern and we'll keot exterior pavement area and shop front look impressive and provide better a good impression Inside as you enter the shop its well kept interior looks fresh and modern and always looks imaculately clean, which also provides a continued good impression to existing and new customers. The staff are always hygienically attired in clean tabards and are very presentable, helpful, patient and welcoming to old or new customers. They make up orders quickly and efficiently serve each customer with a cheerful polite manner (((regardless of how rushed and busy they are!!) The Fish bar menu choice is wide and reasonably priced, this also includes the prices and selection of the separate keebab bar area, to the right hand side of the fish bar and till. The fridges are well stocked with the usual selection of VB canned, cartoned and bottled soft or fizzy drinks and the notice board provides an up to date area advertising local services and events. For a bit of helpful Info- the staff are generous with their 'large portion's of chips. The Fish is always melt in the mouth gorgeous, with delicious tasty large portions of battered cod or plaice usually available. The food is not overly greasy or fatty, the chips are always crispy and they don't serve soggy portions like other fish bars/fish and chip shops might do. You can phone your order in, but you will still have been to wait in the cue to pick it up. Despite the wait, I would recommend Cwmphil Fish bar above other local fish shops in the area.

Been having stuff from here since 1996 - can't remember an instance which made me question going back. When I am down visiting, chips and whatever else from here is a must

Lets just say my family are not easily pleased when it comes to eating out. Got say the owner handled my wife and little boys demands with ease and even a smile. Other local takeaways could learn a thing or two from this place. Needless to say will not dare go anywhere else for my chips!
