I go regularly as CTM does "proper coffee". Usually the coffee is great - strong coffee taste with foamy oat milk. Just like a flat white should be. However, today the flat white was foamless and too milky. Worst of both worlds. I'll go again, but not in a hurry due to the inconsistency.

£4.10 for an iced late (takeaway!)in a low rent area. That’s madness. Don’t know if they charge more for eating ‘in’ but the latest owner did away with indoor seating so its not like there’s even an option for that - outdoor on shared wobbly narrow benches only. This is our local, so very disappointed as I don’t think customers are priority

Stumbled across this place on a walk to the common. Served by a lovely friendly woman who made me a delicious oat milk flat white. I wish I’d asked for the name of the beans, it was gorgeous. I bought a beautiful dark sourdough loaf for just over £4 - it’s nutty and chewy, perfect for a treat, or a dish where the bread is a feature rather than a vehicle for other food. It was really large, and the cost felt very reasonable given how much more special it is than a supermarket loaf. Also tried a delicious little lemon and polenta cake, and a salted caramel brownie. They made a delicious afternoon tea for my housemate and I. The selection of sweet and savoury treats was excellent, I’ll come again to try more. Delighted to have found this place - very conveniently located to grab breakfast or lunch on the way to the common, and I noticed a fridge with a nice little selection of beers. Will absolutely come again.

Disappointing service, food and coffee. From entry the person serving us had the expectation that we should know everything. We were told only takeaways but they offered plates to some locals. The pastries are all burnt or chewy on the top. Coffee was tasteless and because they only use full fat milk which overpowers their beans. A Customer returned a sandwich which had been opened and handled and they just put it back in the fridge.

! ! After following on Instagram for some time I finally had chance to make it to Cut The Mustard. I only stayed for coffee and cake (I got the last slice of carrot cake which was delicious) but I will be back for brunch! The interior is cute and laid back, and the service from the guys behind the counter was great. I also managed to get the last loaf of porridge sourdough which has been amazing to use at home. Can’t wait to return next time and support the business!

Ah this place is such hidden gem in Tooting, it’s tucked away in a residential area. It’s a really cute café with some outdoor seating too. There’s some great choices on the menu. My sister and I both went for the salt beef, cheese and sauerkraut sandwich and crispy potatoes. It was absolutely delicious and excellent quality. My mocha was a good amount of chocolatey too. Prices were about average and the service was exceptionally good. This is one of my favourite places for brunch/lunch in Tooting.

We live locally and have taken friends and family to Cut the Mustard for Saturday brunch. The food has always been wonderful, all made from scratch and you can see from their social media how much effort goes in to each and every thing that they do. Huge kudos to Jimmy, he definitely isn’t taking the easy route with his lovely cafe. The coffee is great and juices are fresh. I had a wonderful granola last time I went with cherries and Greek yoghurt and it’s one of the best breakfasts I’ve had in ages. Last time we went we also bought a sourdough loaf to bring home and it was very tasty. We sliced it and popped it in the freezer for yummy weekend breakfasts. It’s great to have such a fantastic local and independent cafe.

10/10. I live about 20 mins away from Cut The Mustard, which is both good and bad. It makes for a special trip (worthwhile), although if I lived closer, I’d probably be in everyday. Have had the Priory in the past, this time went for the Peggy. Also took some sourdough home (and a cheeky salted caramel brownie). Follow Jimmy/CTM on Instagram to see the love and dedication that goes into this place. Inspiring. Don’t bother going if you’re the kind of person that studies the prices on the menu, it’s not expensive, but if you don’t understand high quality produce and attention to detail, then you won’t ‘get it’. You get what you pay for and like I said, I’d be there everyday if I was closer. Keep up the good work.

Having watched the cafe's instastories I was amazed at the level of effort put into running the cafe and that pretty much everything is made from scratch! Jimmy's little cafe is everything you could hope for if you're a fan of great coffee, delicious food & great service. We regularly visit this cafe for breakfast when we can, and can’t recommend it enough. Everything on your plate has been made from scratch, and it shows in the quality and flavour. The freshly baked bread is unbelievably good and sells out quickly. Every item on the menu is beyond your standard breakfast items, and yes you will pay a bit extra than a normal brunch cafe - but in my opinion it is totally worth it. One of the best breakfast/brunch cafes in South London. Well done to the chef and the team. Also, if there are pumpkin and almond tarts on sale, make sure you get one..!

The place was busy when we arrived but my friends and I were happy to wait as a friend had recommended it for brunch. Once we were seated the guy serving us made us feel like an inconvenience for being there, the service was slow and once we got our drinks it took 3 attempts to get some milk for the tea - by the time it came (and was slammed on the table by the annoyed server) the tea was cold but we didn’t think there was much point in complaining and upsetting him further! Food was good on the whole but with what can’t be more than about 9 tables they really need to consider the service! Such a shame!

? Venga. No nacimos ayer.

Cut The Mustard is my local coffee & bakery cafe and is excellent all around to say the least. My partner and I have experienced many cafes all around London as well as high end restaurants dotted around the capital. Jimmy who started Cut The Mustard in Furzedown, London is an extremely talented chef. The sour dough bread that is made on site daily is definitely one of the tastiest sour dough breads I have ever tasted. The coffee is absolutely fantastic and freshly made smoothies and health juices are also a real treat. The menu choice has been very carefully thought out and all ingredients are of the finest even down to the wonderful Burford Brown eggs from the Cotswolds with their amazing deep rich yellow colour yolk. I truly cannot fault this wonderful warm feeling cafe that has sprung up in this village type area of Wandsworth borough. Jimmy the owner & chef of Cut The Mustard gives so much inspiration to many food & coffee lovers of the way a successful cafe should be. We visited "Cut the Mustard" for breakfast on a Sunday Morning. My coffee was burnt (badly). The service was dreadfully slow and rather expensive. The marmite brioche was however heaven on earth (hence the uplift to three stars).

They used to have an amazing 'super sandwich'- with spinach, tomatoes, and a few other things. However this has since been taken off the menu and they now don't have even one option catering to vegans... When I asked the staff if there were any vegan options it turned out they didn't know the difference between vegetarian and vegan options :( .I was also charged for a drink I ordered but never actually received.

Visiting Friends in the area and came across this great cafe, we had various breakfast options and all were Excellent, my poched eggs were perfect, and the bacon & sausage top notch, you can tell that the produce used here has been sort out for its quality, so yes it may be a pound or so more than your standard cheap brekkie, but it is so worth paying that bit extra for quality. It's just a shame I live over 4hrs away otherwise I'd make this my go to cafe for my cooked breakfast treat.

Having moved into the area quite recently we were eager to try out all the local brunch spots and Cut the Mustard has become a firm favourite. The quality of the food is hard to beat, portion size is decent and service is friendly. We'll be back again and again :)

We went for breakfast and was pleased to find a cafe that was dog friendly. We sat outside as it was a nice sunny day. Service was friendly and the breakfast menu a little different. I really loved the homemade baked beans with poached eggs, which were cooked to perfection. The potatoes were delicious too. The Cappuccino was ok, but not very hot. For a local cafe,it is a nice rustic place to visit occasionally.

Limited menu but the food is quite nice. Some good brunch & pastry options. I think they should try different coffee beans but the coffee is okay. This place could be amazing if not for the waiting staff. I've been a couple of times now and it's astonishing how long they ignore customers who come in and sit down to order whilst they get on with other things. I understand if they are busy, but with us and five other customers in the cafe, it's quite poor. You can also queue and order to takeaway, so after 10 minutes of watching three different waiting staff walking past us, I decided to queue behind one other person getting coffee 'to go'. I wouldn't mind but when you get to the till they are disgruntled when you tell them you are sitting in, and they promptly tell you to take a seat. Then appear to engage with each other in lengthy discussions about where they live and what they are doing that weekend - clearly our order was an unwelcome distraction. I've made a couple of visits because it's local, but for me it's now one to avoid.

This place is just perfect to get a coffee, lunch or a lazy breakfast. Its a relaxed atmosphere and the staff are lovely. Food and coffee also made with love and care. Love the fact that this is right in the heart of our neighbourhood. They do serve dinner but I am yet to try it.

Is 'the full mustard' the best full English in Tooting? Yes definitely. In South London possibly. The quality of the ingredients shines. Everything is either homemade or from a good supplier. Perfectly poached golden yoked free-range egg with a plump lean and peppery Cumberland, flavoursome green baked bacon plus black pudding are presented with a portobello mushroom grilled tomato and their signature home made beans. You also get their unique crispy potatoes which are somewhere between chips and a hash brown. It's about the right size if you have an energy draining day ahead and is well presented too. Cannot remember eating such a good full English. Coffee with a great too

Visited for some refuelling the morning after the night before and had a great bit of brunch. Between us we went for eggs benedict and the pancakes which were both amazing. Well worth a visit if you fancy trying somewhere new.

Lovely brunch post run - I had the pancakes with bacon, maple syrup and pumpkin with a freshly squeezed orange juice. Great local find - service a little slow, waited to be seated & for menus but not a massive issue on a lazy Sunday brunch.

We'd been here before and had an enjoyable experience, however on returning we had to seat ourselves and ask for menus after waiting. We had to go up and order at the till because they were too busy for table service. We ordered pancakes, a pot of tea and a coffee. We waited a long time for the food and the drinks just didn't come, even after reminding the staff twice. The pancakes were OK but it definitely wasn't real maple syrup. We ended up leaving and going to another cafe for drinks where we were greeted on arrival with menus and asked for our order by two separate waiters.

What a delight to visit this café with family for brunch. The sourdough was outstanding and featured in all the dishes we had. I really enjoyed the Full Mustard breakfast and the Girolles on toast and Eggs on toast also had excellent reports from our party. Great, friendly service and I loved the dappled sunshine under the trees outside. A great place to have in your neighbourhood.

Visited cut the mustard with my partner and met some friends there too. First off, the salted caramel chocolate brownie is incredible, I salute you if you can eat the whole thing in one go without having to take a nap!!We stayed for lunch too, the service was great, really attentive and nothing was too much trouble, even for kids. I had the eggs benedict (I'm always won over by a place that does all day breakfast at the weekend!) and couldn't fault it! Some really interesting stuff on the menu and enough variety to keep everyone happy. Also the sausage rolls are perfect for a snack for the road when you're finally hungry again after the brownie!!If I lived closer this would absolutely be a regular haunt, can't wait to find an excuse to go back!

Greeted by smiles from the CTM staff it was hard not to feel relaxed and comfortable in this rustic cafe in south London. For someone who is very particular about the right mood and setting when ordering food I found the displays and aromas very appetite provoking. The coffee was of high standard and piping hot, which is a big plus for me. I purchased a pastrami sandwich which was huge and it indulged me enough to buy another to take away. My second experience brought my attention to the sausage roll with black pudding!!!! No words really, Just utterly a winner. I don't usually write reviews, But I just want to let CTM know they are doing a fab job and I will return soon to try something sweet.

I've been to cut the mustard a few times now and always enjoy going back. Jimmy the chef and owner is the star of the show, never stops working. The food is great with a selection of ales and cider. I always seem to come away with a homemade sausage roll and brownie. Keep up the good work cut the mustard...Tony

Hadn't been for a while - ordered a bacon sandwich and a cup of tea. Fairly safe you would have thought. The tea came immediately but the sandwich took a while, and when it came it was lukewarm, the focaccia was burnt underneath and the bacon overdone. It had some water cress and other greenery on it to somehow justify the price. Not terrible but not very good either for £6.50 inc tea. Game needs to be upped.

We were looking forward to dinner as a family in a restaurant with decent European food. Unfortunately they have changed the decor from what’s in the pictures to something much cheaper, which was a shame. Then we were presented with a Bar Menu for dinner with only burgers and sandwiches for dinner in a restaurant. Disappointed, we carried on and ordered the Chicken Burgers, one was burnt and one had the wrong sauce. They kindly took them back but then replaced them with what looked like the same burgers. The prices were also extremely high - restaurant prices for bar food! Unfortunately we won’t be back.

The restaurant is located directly on the Thames and has a circular floor to ceiling glass layout. The ground floor is essentially a coffee shop that serves meals and the first floor is a restaurant. An ideal place for a relaxed meal. Good food, friendly staff, and excellent views of the river. The breakfast pancakes are not to be missed.

Such a beautiful town! The castle is a fantastic experience, staff were so friendly and helpful. The displays were stunning and well displayed, lovely to see. We were on a tour so couldn't spend as much tie as we would have liked. Highly recommend, hope to come again.

Went for a birthday celebration. Our usual dining preference is a definite cuisine with homestyle cooking and no pretension. Once a year or so we do a fine dining option. She is vegetarian, I am less fussy. I am a good home cook, she works in the restaurant trade and we are sympathetic to current difficulties. We didn’t need to be so here; OK so I usually blench at the sight of a man tweezering food and waitstaff that serves the first course with “Let’s start our journey”,; it often signals a night of pretension and not much else, but this was excellent cooking and service to back it up. There is a £65 four course menu and a £85 tasting menu incl a veg option. We had the 4 course. Yes the portions are small, its not quite the ‘bag of chips on the way home’ scenario but its not gluttony either and ‘langoustine’ is exactly what it says. One langoustine, £15 additional option, doubtless because of the dab of caviar on the top of it, but it was the most perfectly cooked specimen I have ever had. They don’t travel well and often past their best before they arrive at a kitchen. The brioche melted in the mouth, the risotto was al dente but not raw and the parmesan crisp on top of it had obviously taken a lot of work, a sea bream ceviche was seriously fresh and beautifully balanced. The monkfish delicate and moreish. The wine list is expensive but that’s how it is these days – deal with it. The (presumably) head chef with the tweezers had obviously put in a lot of hard work in prep before he picked them up. Watching the kitchen staff in the open kitchen you saw zero macho heroics and a lot of surefooted care. The room wasn’t full all night and so I cannot vouch for the noise level past that, but mercifully no-one had turned up a ‘curated’ playlist. Service was attentive without being obsequious; you don’t usually get a recommendation for a Ukrainian ‘shots bar’ at the post dinner chat – we will check it out on a less refined evening. Really enjoyed it, you would be hard pressed to find better at this style of cooking and certainly not at this price level. Definitely worth a visit. Damn fine stuff.
