If it was up to me there would be 6 stars, it's one excellent establishment hats off to the chef, loved our visit & lunch.

Excellent meal compliments to the chefs first class!

I highly recommend this bar. My wife and I had a fabulous Friday afternoon lunch here. Having perused many other eateries on the harbour front the delicious-sounding menu temped in us. We were not disappointed, we were greeted with a smile and sat at a lovely round table in the window. The room was light, with a welcome feel to it and tasteful decor. The service was friendly and efficient throughout the meal and the food was well presented and delicious. The only very minor negative comment I have is that my pint Doom Bar was served way too cold, it was the same temperature as the lagers. This was disappointing but the rest of our lunch was so enjoyable it didn't spoil the occasion and our whole experience was well worth 5 stars.

Sadly the service here is terrible. It’s in a great location but asking three times just to see a menu is really poor. It’s been this was the last few times we’ve been so won’t be going back, there are other bars/cafes I would rather give my money to.

Delicious meal, both had mackerel pate starter, my husband had mussels (quote: best he'd ever had) for main and I had salmon and prawn with noodles, absolutely amazing food, unfortunately we were too full for desserts, service was really good and our waitress was friendly, we'd definitely go back

We enjoyed a snack lunch outside. We chose the venue as it outside tables, was in the sunshine and out of the wind!

The Forest Mushroom Bruchette was divine, the Panna Cote rather pedestrian (too custard-like and overwhelmed by the berry compote). Service was friendly and helpful, atmosphere quiet (it was a Tuesday evening).

What a fantastic place. Went here for lunch, and I loved it so much I went back in the evening. The food was excellent and beautifully presented.

Great customer service, but comes at a price, expensive compared with other local businesses. Very poor value for money.

Absolutely loved it. Best mussles I ever had in the UK! Delicious and good portions! The team is really sweet and lovely, even clearing seagulls away in a funny and lovely manner to ensure you enjoy a nice hassle free meal and experience!

We felt very honoured to be the first guests to stay overnight at the newly converted rooms at The Custom House last night, for my husband’s birthday (29.5.22). We were given the largest room at the front, overlooking the Quay. It was beautifully appointed and no detail had been forgotten. Nikki gave us an extremely warm welcome and was very concerned to ensure we had everything we needed. The tariff was reasonable and we’ll certainly be back for another stay soon. Definitely 5 stars!

Received a warm welcome and was shown to our seats. Lovely menu that caters for all tastes. Food was well presented and oh so delicious. I would definitely recommend a meal here 🙂

Lovely evening spent on Poole quay at the Custom House . Great food and drink. The atmosphere is buzzing . All the staff are polite and friendly. Great experience.

This was a wonderful find, great food, great service and a lovely place to eat. I am glad we walked in and out of two other places (even though at the time I was grumpy about the poor service, The custom house restored my faith in pleasant service. The food was quick and very tasty, it’s the first time a gourmet burger delivered on the promise! Will be back to visit this great cafe in a lovely building

The cafe is set a little away from the busiest part of Poole Harbour, overlooking the shipyards, with the historic weighing post still visible at the entrance. There is both outdoor and indoor seating. The moules frites was tasty, creamy, and full of texture, but the mussels were rather gritty. The service was very good and all the staff friendly and welcoming.

Delicious food, mostly eating fish here and always quality is super. Atmosphere in restaurant is warm and homely. Stuff is just great, always friendly and smiling. Definitely going again and can recommend for everyone.

Lovely glass of Malbec just popped in for one, lovely staff, happy and friendly, will return and have something to eat.

We were meeting up with family that we hadn't seen for a couple of years and didn't want anywhere too loud (it was nice and clean with subtle background music at Custom House 🙂) The staff seemed friendly enough, but it was cold inside and we did feel like we had disappointed them by coming in as a group of 5 people at 9pm as they clearly wanted to close, so after a couple of quick rounds we left and went to a nearby pub.

Had an amazing lunch / best vegetarian burgers we had ever had / the whole experience was epic / would 100 percent return!! Highly recommend

Pleased with everything but lack of soft furnishings can mean the noise level rises sharply.

They couldn't cope when it was busy! Waited 45 minutes just for drinks (had to stay at table to be served). Then, got forgotten completely when we asked for bill! Shame, otherwise seems decent

Music was fun and unecpected. Service was not brilliant. Long time to get our drinks. .several people complained about food orders. Our nachod were fine, bit different.

Stopped by for a lovely latte and tea cake. Friendly people and spacious seating arrangements. Seems they'll be starting with live music on Sundays again soon. And... Dog friendly 😁

Right on the quay, outside seating but inside is lacking atmosphere. Bit pricey for what it is.

Well located on the Quay at Poole, with a good amount of outside seating. Worth the extra steps to get away from the crowds.

No lemonade. No coca cola This was at 7pm in the evening !!. Long wait for meal.

This is a lovely bar/café which has excellent choice of foods. Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful.

We visited here for the first time today and will definitely be coming back again. Good service, lovely food and very polite, happy staff. You won't be disappointed.

Came here on a lovely sunny evening sat outside having drinks . Had some nachos and a charcuterie board , both were very tasty. Lovely setting right on Poole harbour . If you want yo have a proper meal you will need to book as very popular and nice place.

A.lovely place for breakfast although dont do a fried breakfast anymore apparently stopped doing them... but would recommend the waffles with fruit and yoghurt.

Enjoyed brunched here. Tasty and well priced. Eggs Royale were spot on. Friendly service too.

Ate here for lunch and dinner. Both meals were delicious. All freshly made and reasonably priced, would highly recommend - (excellent mussels, calamari, mackerel pate, bruschetta, and also great desert)

Spent another great night out dining and drinking in this fabulous Bistro. The owners Fab and Nicky could not be more proffesional and polite. The food was excellent as usual but you got to try thr current special, bloody lovely.(picture attached)Look forward to eating there again soon.

Really great experience from the warm greeting, friendly efficient service, to the excellent value dishes. We were just there for a light lunch sadly as I could have eaten far more looking at the menu. I had bruschetta with asparagus and my husband had the home made mackerel pate. We will return for a full lunch next time in the area.

We booked a late lunch and thoroughly enjoyed it.The staff were lovely and the meal all we could have hoped.There was attention to detail and the meals were well presented

We called here for a drink on our way back to our flat, my husband had Cider and I Apple Juice, although it was nice the service was fairly slow.

We had lunch here , beautiful setting overlooking the sea with charming buildings around, the food was excellent so was the service.

We wanted a couple of drinks on the quay so paid £1.80 for 1 hour in the car park. At the Customs House yhere we many empty tables so we waited at the wait here marker at the entrance to the outside tables in the area on the pavement. The server arrived and said that we could sit anywhere. We chose a table and waited and waited and waited. There were serving staff around taking a payment, wiping a table. Nobody came to us for 12 minutes. We ordered our 2 pints. Then another long wait. A server came towards us and we thought that after quarter of an hour we were going to get our drinks but as she got to our table she turned and went back in and we waited again....... eventually nearly 20 minutes after sitting down the drinks arrived (others had arrived after us and been immediately served and were lucky enough to be already enjoying their drinks) with the lovely greeting 'I cant find the card machine' ..... and she disappeared to find it as it was obviously the worry of the moment, not that it had taken 20 minutes to get 2 pints of lager to us. The machine was found and we paid. We noticed clipboards were being handed to tables for the legally required test and trace information gathering and thought that we would be given one. We finished our drinks and decided to have another half each. We waited again .... nobody came and then it was only 7 minutes before our 1 hour car park ticket ran out .... 7 minutes! I'm not sure we could get another drink in 7 hours. So I headed for the ladies. No luck, one in and 1 waiting, fair enough. Whilst inside I asked whether the clipboards which we had seen being handed out were for test and trace and was told yes. I told the server that we hadn't been given one, nor asked for our details in any other way. She nonchalantly said 'weren't you'. I also asked if they are asking just one per table to complete it and she replied that all at the table have to do it so I asked why on two tables, each of three guests, we saw that only one person had done it. Again this information was greeted rather disinterestedly 'oh'. We left to rescue the car with 5 mins to go. I hour for one pint and no details asked for. We'll carry on further up the quay next week.

Staff nice when bringing drinks, tried to order food could not even have a plate of French fries at 8.30pm as kitchen said no. So we left and went elsewhere.

Lovely to have got table to have a coffee & sit in sunshine. Right on Quay, so good spot. Did not eat so can't comment on food. Staff lovely and friendly

Top class seafood We booked for the custom house and it was well worth it.The Custom House is in the old part of Poole overlooking the harbour. I had mussels and chips which were delicious. To finish had lemon posset with lavender. It melted in your mouthMy husband had burger cheese and bacon which he enjoyed followed by ice cream. A lovely place and a great meal

We ordered a whole crab meal at this restaurant last year. We took my wife’s 95?year old father there for a meal. It was a sensational success. This year, he is now 96 we did the same thing. You have to book your crab meal in advance, but again a superb experience. The meal was great and the care and service was fantastic. We have now booked up for a repeat visit on Father’s Day and are so much looking forward to another fantastic meal and experience. A special shout out to Kosy and the owner who take such great care to make the experience such joy. Fabulous service, fabulous food and the perfect location. See you again on the 20th June.

We had a lovely slow lunch here on a sunny saturday morning. The outside area is charming, food was lovely and the service was very warm and accommodating. I’d really recommend anyone visiting Poole to pop over for a bite at Custom House ☺️

Arrived on bikes and sat outside for coffee but as it was almost 12.00 we then ordered 3 starters as well to share as an early lunch. The calamari was possibly the best we'd had and even little things like the relish was properly made. Service was excellent and the two waitresses we had were lovely. We shall be trying out this venue one evening after today.
