I had dinner there with 2 friends last saturday. Ordered a campari and orange juice. Couldn’t have it as they had no orange juice. No orange juice in a bar?? What? Surely there would have been some in the hotel that is 100 metres away! Then myself and one other ordered the chicken pate. The toast was actually burnt black for both of us. The waiter actually let us put the burnt toast into his hand, despite the fact we had requested a plate to put it on…. My goodness what a disappointing evening.

My partner and I used to love it here,we stopped here once a week on our way back from groomsport ,but recently the portions have got so small I don’t think we will be back,I don’t mind paying for a good meal but the other day we spent 70 pounds roughly and left the place still hungry, it’s such a pity, we told all our friends about it too, ah well, there’s nowhere left for a decent meal.

We used to love this place but not anymore! We used to have our lunch and enjoyed it, though it was quite pricey but we didn't mind, as long as we're satisfied with the food and service. We had our lunch at this place a week ago. I ordered chowder as my main (I had it before, and love it). I was surprised, I thought they mistakenly give me it as a starter. The portion was very very small!!! The portions are a lot smaller than they used to be but the prices are still very high. My partner had Irish braised beef, it was good but the portion was way too small! We were disappointed and dissatisfied! So Cultra Inn serves smaller portion meals with sky high prices!! Not coming back!!!

We were really looking forward to a meal here this evening. I went for a curry as I was told it was a smooth sauce when I asked as I don’t like onions. It came out with onions and veg. My partner swapped his meal with me as we waited the guts of 20 minutes before a server came to our table to see if everything was ok for us, when he eventually did, we explained that we were disappointed with our food as we were told the sauce was smooth and it wasn’t. As I was speaking, mid conversation he turned and walked away. We were that confused at what just happened we presumed maybe he was going to get the manager. No, he just walked away from us mid sentence and never returned. No one came near us the remainder of the time we were there, to offer drinks, dessert or even to lift our plates. It got to the point we just went up to the til to pay. We planned on staying here the rest of the night for drinks but the mood was ruined by the complete lack of decent customer service and especially for the price of everything. It was probably the worst experience we have had in a while and we were very disappointed. I did express this to the manager when we were at the til and our meals were taken off. This was a nice gesture but it wasn’t the point. We were out to spend money and wanted to stay longer for drinks but we couldn’t wait to leave the place in the end up. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone thinking about having a nice evening meal. Absolutely shocking customer service. Not sure how a restaurant can lack such common manners and charge the prices that they do.

Came here late on a Saturday afternoon with my husband for a bite to eat. The pub and surrounds were gorgeous. I cannot fault the location and setting. However, the service was exceptionally slow. We waited a long time for our order to be taken and to pay, although the food came quicky. The food was tasty, well cooked and seasoned but somewhat pricey for what you get (although given the location, that is a given). I have given the Cultra Inn two stars for service as service was slow, no one came to check if we needed anything and we had to go up to the till to pay our own bill. Some of the staff seemed unfriendly and disinterested.

With my partners relatives and we were taking them out for the night. Got a nice table and manageress said she would be back to take a drinks order. We had to beckon some one in the end. We were engrossed in our own conversation but service was very slow and it seemed like we were neglected for most of the night. I have been here once before and recall a simular problem. Food was reasonable and all seemed to be fine. My own meal was a bacon chop and cut into it and it was completely raw in the middle. Being in company I didn't want to make a scene in front of my guests. Nobody came back near us to check if all was OK and only got the chance to highlight this when plates were cleared. Manageress asked me what was wrong with it...any idiot could see it was raw. She said she would discuss it with the chef. Took ages to get a dessert and only then manageress said she had taken my meal off the bill. There was no apology at any time. Over all not very impressed and even though it was a nice setting I would not be back.

I booked Cultra Inn for my parents 40th anniversary lunch and after a few hiccups with the gift voucher (my fault) they had the best time. From a conversation with Cormac on the morning of the lunch when it was clear that nothing would be too much trouble they went out of their way to help and make this a special lunch for my parents. Organising Prosecco for them on arrival was made very easy, they absolutely raved about the food and in particular the special desert the chef had made for them. When I picked them up after their lunch (when they had moved to the bar area and didn’t want to leave) I met Cormac in person and also Emma who was nothing but a pleasure to speak to. My mum and dad said the food was fantastic and the service was second to none. They are already planning a return trip and I’m hopeful that my husband might book it for my next birthday.Thank you so much to everyone that helped make this so special.

Hugely disappointed with the quality and service at the Cultra Inn. Being a part of the Culloden, our expectations were high but unfortunately not met.The service was patchy with multiple staff members asking the same questions and there not being much communication between them. The drinks took longer to come than the food and staff were easily distracted when we asked for something. My wife's burger was a little pink and the waitress was unable to confirm if it was steak or mince. The chunky chips were hard when bitten or cutThe food reminded us of a diner or pub lunch, we aren't sure how much was prepared freshly in the restaurant, let alone to order. The mains and dessert menu was quite limited so we had our main and left to the hotel lobby to give them our custom.

We visited recently with my family to celebrate my dads birthday and were somewhat disappointed. The service was very slow-we waited a long time for the waitress to take our drinks order and in fact tables that arrived after us were served before us. We eventually ordered our drinks and my mum wanted to pay for the drinks separately but the waitress seemed to want to argue with her saying it was simpler to put it on the bill and pay separately at the end-maybe it was simpler for her, but made no sense! We ordered our food and my dad and I got the chicken and mango curry which was mostly chunks of chicken in a thin sauce which appeared to also have some shreds of chicken in. It tasted nice, if an odd texture. My mums scampi starter was described on the menu as ‘with garden salad’, which turned out to be a garnish. Everyone else had burgers or fish and chips, which were nice but the chips were still hard to the bite. After the meal, I waved at various staff across the restaurant to try and ask for the bill for a good several minutes. The food could have been better and the service should have been much better, considering what we were paying. Very disappointing meal.

I have a mixed review, I have been twice to see the scuptures as part of the Art and Soul festival, which are in the grounds of the Culloden Hotel. We called into the Cultra inn both times once for a drink and today for food. I was pleasantly surprised that dogs are welcome inside the bar area and staff were very friendly and accommodating when in for a drink last week. Today, however, was a different story. Cormac, the manager, was very nice and helpful but the rest of the experience was chaotic. No food is served outside, we eventually got a table inside. We had to ask for drinks twice as well as for the menu. We had to call someone to take the order. The service was very slow. There is limited vegetarian options and my sister can not eat spicy food, she asked a young blonde waitress if the falafel bon bon dish was spicy and was told that she did not think so but would check. She did not return and when the food arrived it was inedible as the noodles were covered in a hot chilli sauce and falafel was also spicy. I mentioned it to the waitress, who apologised but told me she had asked the chef, who told her this was not a spicy dish. I would be very concerned if this was the case as I ended up eating most of her meal and it was hot even for me and I enjoy hot food. Part of the order was wrong and we had to ask for cutlery. The food is highly priced and drinks extortionate. The service is extremely poor in such a high end establishment. Unfortunately this is not somewhere we will return to or recommend.

Chose to sit in the champagne garden as there was no direction but was then told I wasn’t allowed to order beer there when I tried even though we had ordered champagne anyway (seemingly as we were behind a small novelty rope) Several other customers were drinking beer beside us but pointing this out didn’t seem to help. We visited as a party of 4 on 1st July 2021. Our table was booked for 12.30. We arrived just on time and were eventually told that we were 30 minutes early. Fortunately I had the Inn’s confirmation email to prove that we were there at the correct time. There were 8 other people in the restaurant apart from ourselves. The 4 main courses were ok but the 2 desserts were a different matter. My friend ordered an ice cream roulade which turned out to be 2 inch cube of ice cream with half a wafer sitting on top. It was accompanied by 2 tea spoons of jelly. The tiramisu that I ordered was not available but the chocolate Torte that was recommended was of a similar standard to my friend’s . Both these desserts cost £7 each. Then coffee arrived. Not accompanied by a mint or a chocolate but by a cheap custard cream. Due to lockdown this was the first time that we had been out with these friends for around 18 months so we didn’t feel like making a fuss

Me and my wife decided to go here for a light lunch for our 10th Anniversary. I ordered the Caesar Salad. with my wife ordering the Scampi. Even though it took over 30 minutes for the food to arrive, we were prepared to wait as we were hungry. When my Caesar Salad arrived, it didn't look very impressive, lettuce placed on the centre of the plate with lardons, with a small portion of chicken cubes on the side. Upon eating the chicken I could tell it had just come out of the fridge, as it was very cold ! The lardons were very fatty and I couldn't eat them. The chicken cubes reminded me of something a food distributor would have supplied. So glad my wife ordered fries with her scampi (which she enjoyed), as they made up for the disappointing Caesar salad.Bear in mind this is not a cheap restaurant, I don't mind paying for quality and good food. We had orange squash and lemonade each, and 2 light starters, it came to £45.00.

We visited the restaurant this evening and had a lovely meal - not a huge choice, but everything was delicious. What really annoyed me though was one member of staff who constantly had his mask around his chin. It is a relatively expensive restaurant attached to a 5 star hotel and I would very much expect them to enforce the rules more rigidly with staff members. We had dinner at a much less expensive restaurant a few nights ago and all of the staff there managed to wear their masks correctly. I would have marked them down even more had the other staff not been so lovely.

"Wait to be seated" which we did, and waited, and waited, even though serving staff saw us. Eventually gave up and went to ask how long do we need to wait.Food, drinks and service were good. However, NO GENTS TOILETS AVAILABLE AT ALL, and only 1 Disabled one, which meant a 3 year old having to queue, with not unexpected results.Asked for our bill, and guess what, we waited, and waited, and yes, eventually gave up and had to go to the desk to pay.As the title says, surprisingly disappointing at what claims to be a first class establishment.Deliberately chose the Inn as less formal than Culloden itself with children, but if this their standard, then next time will try Culloden.

Scott, Thank you, Emma and your team for a fabulous wedding meal on Saturday. Everyone had a wonderful time , commenting what a great place it was. They enjoyed the outstanding food and service. It proved the perfect place for a covid era reception. Kind regards, Cheryl and Jeremy Harbinson

Called in for Sunday lunch. Superb food - I had the sweet potato and cocunut curry and he had scampi. The food was just superb - really tasty and well priced.Great standards on social distancing. And the entire place is overseen by Scott - who is just amazing. It’s just the right mix of casual dining but good food and great service - well done the Cultra Inn

I'd booked a table for me and 3 friends to enjoy lunch together this afternoon. Given the current way of things we phoned ahead to ask if we could have a more spacious table and upon arrival this was certainly no trouble at all for the young man on the front desk, Kyle, who promptly showed us to our seats. I ordered the scampi and chips and my friends ordered another portion of scampi as well as the fish pie. The food was exceptional as always and it was nice to be able to enjoy the company of friends in a familiar surrounding again after so long in lockdown. Will hopefully be back again soon. Oh p.s,the young blonde haired girl who served us our drinks (whose name I didn't get) was also very polite and within minutes of ordering came back with our round, ensuring we had all we needed to enjoy our meal.

Visited the Cultra Inn recently during a weeks staycation up north. Having heard about the gin bar and outside drinks area my partner suggested the Cultra for dinner. The weather was fabulous but this only played a small part to the enjoyment of our evening. Upon arrival, we were greeted and shown to an outside table pre dinner, which was more than spaced out to allow the appropriate distance between tables etc, this was a small comfort but after been in lockdown for 4 months it was nice be to able to relax and not worry about crowds. Both Ali and Emma were managing the gin bar area and the service was top notch! Especial in comparison to a couple of other bars/restaurants we had visited in the weeks stay. Given the outside bar area was full both girls worked tiresly to ensure all guests were looked after and always had a smile no matter the ask. Evening dinner in the Cultra Inn itself was also lovely. Very nice relaxed atmosphere and again excellent service. Having spent 7 nights in Belfast and frequented numerous bars/restaurants, I would 100% recommend both the gin bar and Cultra Inn for any special occasion and will be back.

Im reluctant to leave a bad review. It's something i never do preferring to bring any issues up at the time and especially in the current climate to recognise the difficulties restaurants are facing. But, first time giving this place a chance in 3 years despite living a mile away after 3 horrendous experiences i feel i simply have to. Attended yesterday. Such a beautiful day, we wanted somewhere to eat sitting in the sun. My friend mentioned cultra inn, my daughter (14 years old) raised an eyebrow despite us not being there in 3-4 years. I said we'll give it a go, it can only have got better. Sitting outside we had to stand and queue to order food at the bar, no table service. I am coeliac and asked what i could eat. Was happily provided with a special menu. Underwhelmed with choices but there was a burger in a gluten free bun at £15. I ordered that. My daughter had lasagne, my friend a steak at £29 and her daughter the battered cod. I asked were the chips cooked in a separate fryer than anything else as for example if breaded, battered items were cooked in same fryer it's no longer gluten free. The waiter paused, thought, and said yes! I said are you sure as I'll be very ill if anything with gluten is cooked in same fryer. He paused and said yes. I was precarious st his hesitation given the last time i frequented this place the waitress offered me macaroni and cheese as a gluten free suggestion. I then asked if he wanted me to wait and take the drinks to the table (2 Sprite and 2 water). He said no no he would have them taken down. 25 minutes later, sitting in sun i asked a waitress could she please get our drinks, yes yes of course. 15 minutes later food arrives bar mine. Asked again for drinks (40 minutes for water and 2 Sprite). Yes yes of course! My "burger" then arrived. Minus a bun! My gluten free bun was a leaf of ice berg lettuce!! I exclaimed "are you serious! It said there was a gluten free bun!" The waitress gave the dirtiest look and said she would ask chef. I told her to take it away, i was not paying 15 pound for a burger pattie on lettuce and if lettuce was the gluten free bun it simply wasn't acceptable. The waiter who served us came and started the kitchen hadnt told then they had ran out of gluten free buns. So.... you get an order for a gluten free burger, notice you have no gluten free buns left and decide to send it out on lettuce? I didn't say this just said the kitchen should have informed the waiters to inform me. I asked for a refund and they offered me the burger in lettuce. I agreed. My friends £29 steak she said was overdone, dry and not worth £29 as there are places steak at £29 are high quality. We'd been in Coq and Bull a few days before where this was the case. Our two teenagers who were mortified at me even complaining actually said "it's awful" the grease dripping from the fish left one unable to eat more than a few mouthfuls. The other, who has never liked any lasagne ever, said it's so dry and doesn't taste nice at all. When the waiter offered me my already cooked burger pattie and some chips i asked again are you sure they're cooked in a separate fryer. Yes yes. Couldn't barely swallow the burger it was cooked until there was no life, juice left and as for the greasy fries, i could taste fish off them. Thought no, they wouldn't assure me they were cooked in a separate fryer, less than an hour later i was projectile vomiting. 24 hours later im still terribly ill. It takes at least a week for me to recover from having gluten. Coeliac disease is not imaginary, people choose to be gluten free, some don't. As the waiters and chefs can't tell which is which anyone requesting gluten free should be treated with highest standards. Im disgusted at this establishment. Charges higher end prices for beyond basic food. The only thing i can think of as to how it stays open is the 5 * hotel grounds, gorgeous surroundings for a drink and gin bar. Even dirty duck is high class in comparison and it's merely pub grub. I cannot not leave a negative review. Poor service and awful food yes, i raised it at the time but being ill for a week because they disregard my coeliac disease is something else

Had a great afternoon enjoying the nice weather and wonderful surroundings with my wife at the Cultra Inn today. Lots of outside seating available at the moment with current restrictions, a mobile bar that is open friday to sunday unfortunately not today. But waiter service was readily available and well looked after by Caitlin. A great atmosphere and will definitely be back again.

Myself and a friend visited the Cultra Inn for some drinks and a meal post lockdown. The weather was good so we sat outside at the Gin Bar overlooking the superb grounds that the restaurant lies upon. The music was chill-out and relaxing, the staff were on top form. Friendly and professional and it was plain to see how hard working they all were. A big thank you to Emma who helped find us a table as it was very busy and cleaned down all our chairs and table ensuring peace of mind, she even came and found us outside when our table was ready in the restaurant. They operate to a high level of cleanliness and efficiency of service in the restaurant and the new limited menu had a good selection. The seafood chowder was by far the best I have ever tasted! All in all a great first experience post lockdown thanks to the professional, hard working and friendly staff. Keep up the good work.
