Right prices on food and drink final bill was unexpectedly light

Had my son’s birthday bash in the function room, was a fantastic night, enjoyed by all. The food was delicious, the staff were amazing and the Manager was a lovely guy, gave the birthday boy a complimentary meal, above and beyond. I would certainly highly recommend this place for any occasion.

I know the cuddie brae has had numerous complaints about the drug users who still go in btw (managements friends) but I’ve recently found out about a male customer giving a young waitress thousands of pounds when serving surely this can’t be allowed you don’t just give someone that amount of money was it for drugs? Or like other staff and customers have done booked rooms together in the hotel next door? And managers knew about it at the time wth

Lesley the manageress and denise the waitress were brilliant very welcoming..service was excellent as always ...as I'd been ignored at the lady Nairne beefeater/ premier inn after standing waiting 10 minutes to be seated when it wasn't busy ...highly recommend the food from this establishment staff very friendly...shall return cheers paul

Our server Mel was incredible! Friendly, approachable, knowledgeable and attentive, nothing was too much trouble when she was clearly run off her feet! Food was fantastic and the whole experience has really enhanced our Edinburgh trip! Would be back if we had time!

We were back for our daughters early birthday lunch and the waiter Kalem (not sure how it's spelt), was really helpful and polite throughout the meal, thank you! Our youngest and I decided to head for a boys night out as my wife and daughter were meeting other friends. We were greeted and quickly seated. We were at a table for 5, so amble space. It took a little while for us to get given menus and I ended up having to ask the service staff for a copy. I also asked for kids drawing paper and pens which unfortunately they had none left. After that the service was swift with taking orders and serving food etc. The atmosphere was good and lots of people coming and going, with it being a few days before Christmas this was to be expected. One thing I disliked, was the fact a dish is served sizzling and VERY smokey, not once but about 4 times while we were there, so clearly deliberately. Every time it set off the smoke alarm, which was just turned off. At one occasion the front door had to be jammed open to get rid of the smoke. Maybe a dish to reconsider as many commented on how it was too smokey not happy about the constant smoke alarm going off! Otherwise great and friendly service from the staff, thank you.

Had as always a great visit. All staff were very good kind and friendly. Food was good and a very good atmosphere .thank you all .

Staff who sat us at the table didn’t know we had reservation and was a set menu as started to rattle of specials! 2 Staff keep going on breaks leaving no one around to serve us, and keep us waiting ages begging courses, We finally grabbed a member of staff to ask for next course and still never came, was 3 attempt we finally got served again. And then same happened for desert course then coffees after. Plus worse of all. So called steak 8oz was more like 3oz was the size of a beer mat. Asked for medium rare was overcooked on outside and basically raw on inside. Was like rubber!!! The knife I was given barely cut through it. I tried to complain and get it recooked but as stated no member of staff about so I gave up and never ate it! So what a waste of money Table of 5 who won’t be back!!!

To the lady who said she arrived after a long haul flight and was told to leave with kids at 9 the reason you were treated in such away is because you have to be friends with the managers up stairs to be welcome they will happily welcome drug users as they are friends and sit drinking with them or party with them unfortunately it’s been that way many years and will never change

Lunchtime menu was well priced with a good variety of options. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Not impressed at all. Came of a longhaul flight and met my relatives here at premier inn and went to the pub. As soon as i walked in at 8.15 they said no food is serving. No hi or anything. Advised dont want food just a quick soft drink. Thet first said last order is at 10. We sat in corner far from everyone as they made us feel awkward. They then said last order at 9.30pm. We only been here 10 minutes. Then a male worker came and said all kids need be out by 9! When we left at 9. There was another family still there with children and no where near looking to finish so felt really disappointed and discriminated against with the family. So will not be going for bfast or again here as do not give my services to people who are rude and disengaging and never felt like that before

We were quite disappointed with our visit this year compared to last Christmas. The quality of food was considerably poorer. Charged for pan fried mushrooms that I ordered but never received. Rump steak was very chewy and sinuey. Brown lettuce in the prawn cocktail with sliced sandwich bread from a bag. Seating was hard with a rocking unsteady table. Vegetables with Turkey dinner were not fresh and gravy and stuffing were from a packet. We were not expecting 5 star but we expected more than the equivalent of a frozen TV dinner. Staff however were very helpful.

We went for Christmas dinner which had been reordered a few wee prior to Christmas. The lunch was not described as in the menu, pig in blanket and cranberry sauce were missing. Was a bit cold and felt like a meal at a beefeater (mass produced and precooked items). Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Didn't seem very good value for money, would have expected higher standards considering the price.

Just has Christmas meal today. Top marks for presentation. Food was superb as was the very attentive staff. Would definitely recommend. Well worth a visit.

Four of us had a great meal here today food was delicious and our waitress Vonnie was lovely ,nothing was to much trouble, you can tell she enjoys her job she's a star 🌟

We had our McIntyre family Xmas Lunch were allocated an area where we were all (20) seated together Amy and the other staff were excellent nothing was too much bother, I would certainly recommend.

food was decent as was the the look of the pub itself, and the prices, but the main barman was both rude, and very slow (the ladies bringing out the food were lovely though), so a bit of a mixed experience

We had a pre Christmas dinner for 15 of the family as we can't all be together on Christmas day. It was on Saturday 14th December, everyone really enjoyed our day. Food and staff were excellent.

I love the Cuddiebrae, it's staff are so friendly and accommodating! It has an amazing atmosphere and the food first class favourite the steak pie!! Well recommended 👌

Booked a table prior to attending an event nearby. Seated and served quickly. Restaurant was busy but didn't have a long wait for courses to be brought out and staff were very attentive. Food was lovely, had a few bad experiences with similar chain pubs but would definitely return here.

We were staying at the Premier Inn next door and used the Cuddie as our meeting point before heading into Edinburgh. Also for a night cap on our return. Staff were friendly and helpful and the range of drinks excellent

Food not the best, full breakfast - grilled Lorne sausage was dry, tattie scone was soaked in oil, barely a spoonful of baked beans, haggis was stodgy and scrambled egg was tasteless. Spent a fortune on family breakfast before my son went back home and was sorely disappointed.

We were sat next to the Christmas tree which was very festive. We were served really quickly and our server was very friendly. We ordered the vegetarian Sunday roast; mushroom, Stilton and spinach, which came with roast potatoes, veggies & a huge Yorkshire pudding, we also ordered a side of cauliflower cheese - it came quickly and tasted amazing; delicious and filling and the gravy topped it off nicely. We always enjoy the food here, good vegetarian choices, great service and a lovely atmosphere. Would definitely recommend.

I went here for breakfast with my daughter and grandson. I had the scottish breakfast. My daughter had eggs benedict, and my one and half Yr old grandson had pancakes 🥞 😋. It was all lovely 😍 I ate quite a bit of it, which is unusual for me,bit I just couldn't stop eating it(although they do put tattie scones on the plate which I don't like,just give me toast with butter I'll be happy) anyway I would definitely recommend Cuddie Brae for breakfast,I've not been for lunch or dinner yet so I can't comment,but if they are as nice as the breakfast then great. 😀

One of the servers was sneezing - a lot! Hope they washed their hands before bringing food out to customers. Breakfast food was good though and plenty of choice on the menu and the prices were reasonable.

Friendly host explains everything well and clearly. Food is delicious would definitely recommend! I'll definitely go back.

We arrived and hadn't booked it was REALLY BUSY. Staff cleared a table and we were seated quickly. Drinks served swiftly. Great food and great prices. We will return but we will book prior.

Keep removing the true reviews about the managers drug using friends it will keep getting put back up I know of at least 2 still in most weekends at the clique table but the ones that weren’t there friends all got barred that’s just tells you everything you need to know

Apparently you can’t have a good night with a friends had about 4 pints and then my friends wife tipped up and then cut off apparently had to much to drink after 4 pints and the ladies had one drink totally destroyed by the way I was treated and being a veteran with a leg missing through war defending this country am sorry I may walk funny and to some people they may think am drunk and it’s a drivers me crazy I would like to see these jobs worths do the job I did but that’s the that’s you get STAY AWAY FEOM THE PLACE

No point goin to this place .. I have had more bad experiences here than good. You think if you give it time things will change they don't. Don't go there on a sun at 10.45 because they areaking up there tables for 12 oclock and you need to make a booking for breakfast. Have you heard anything like this??

Having not visited in a while due to illness it took me by surprise that some of the staff had changed. Waiting for my son to arrive my anxiety got the better of me, however leanne calmed me down and seated me in a quieter part of the restaurant checking on me from time to time. My son arrived as did a very tasty pink gin - medicinal of course!! As always our food was delicious as was the drinks from the bar. I am loving the new food and drink deals on offer too. Special thanks definitely goes to Kayden and leanne for looking after us, nothing was too much bother and kaydens cheery smile brightened up our day. He really is a credit so don't hide him away in the dungeon 😋 He is amazingly friendly and lovely to chat to!

The waiter was lovely from outer hebrides .. then there was the other unhappy looking guy , what can I say but came over and gave us the you need to turn noise down we where loud for 2 seconds .. lied about people being upstairs ? . Slight sour taste on a other wise good night .. but there us always one

I went in to get a full English breakfast not very filling at all you could count the beans they give you 1 small tiny pease of tost. No tomatoes. No black pudding.

Lesley was able to fit me in last minute on my birthday! The staff was lovely, the food was INCREDIBLE, and Lesley was able to put a spin on an Old Fashioned for me despite not having all the ingredients. I can't recommend this place enough. I had the T-Bone, and the folks next to me got the Roast (looked like it was sculpted for an advert! You simply cannot go wrong at Cuddie Brae!

The new £20 meal menu was brilliant. Rump steak and fish & chips were both really good. The food here is a level above most other eateries associated with the premier inns, such as a Toby carvery. Very impressed. Also, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again with work if I'm in the area

Customer service here was done properly. The staff were lovely and served us well all night. The food was nice for us all, personally I had the burger which was good. The onion rings on the side seem pointless. However, only getting 2 and they were very soggy, as the only criticism. The coleslaw was a memorable highlight as it was very tasty, which is usually a suprise for when it comes to pubs. We always stay at the premier inn next door and this is a reliable place where we go every year. I cannot wait to revisit next year.

We stopped off for breakfast before heading into Edinburgh. I had a wonderful Scottish breakfast and particularly enjoyed the haggis and potato scone. I would recommend the Cuddie Brae for breakfast.

Great pub for food, must book a table as they are very busy. Service was excellent from our waitress. All the dishes were fantastic full of flavour and good prices. I even asked to try some haggis which they provided as part of my sides which was nice.

Absolutely disgusted with the full experience, firstly crammed into a seat with a shelf running along the side, which I hit my shoulder off, the starter of Nachos, well less said the better, then my steak which was supposed to be rare to medium was cooked through, it was sent back and a replacement hadn’t been issued by the time the rest of the party had finished their mains. The manageress asked if she could do anything to make up for it, so we all had a free dessert, I chose the cappuccino and traybake, it arrived on a massive plate and the raspberry and white chocolate blondie was about the size of a 50 pence piece. So cardboard Nachos, no steak and a miniature cake was my experience, needless to say I won’t be back !!!

The Sunday roast was awful nothing like what was advertised. The roast beef was covered in blood and grave.had to send it back as I can't stand blood in my food ..they then give me turkey .roast potatoes where burnt .2 small pieces of broccoli and carrot where cold . .never again couldn't eat it .

A pleasant enough visit, staff were clearly over ran but friendly and helpful when available, food was okay, probably wouldn't go back. A shame because a good location and plenty of parking.

We came here just for a wee drink and something to eat for our son,we where put in a little bit by ourselves and it was brilliant our wee boy could run about without annoying others and he absolutely loved flirting with the staff that was on. He enjoyed his fish fingers chips and corn on the cob,I enjoyed the soup and the husband had the cheesy bacon fries,needless to say we will be back,the staff here are amazing as is the service and food.

We visited for a birthday celebration and had prebooked due to being a group of 7 people! Warm welcome from the host who seated us promptly! Great service from every member of the team we met, with regular check backs to ensure food and drinks were good! Food was fantastic and tasted delicious! We will definitely be back in the future!

Exceptional service got there twenty minutes early was shown to table straight away. Food was outstanding. Leeanne our waitress was very helpful and talked through the menu. Definitely going back.

Nothing particularly wrong with this place but nothing particularly great either. Seated at table and forgotten about. My aperol spritz tasted like water. And my onion omission request was ignored. I probably wouldn’t go back.
