Cruize Bar Brasserie in North Ayrshire

We have eaten here before and didn’t really enjoy it but this time it was so much better. Food choice better, quality better and overall we really did have a very positive experience!

Good service, food luke warm on both occasions one main meal pasta dish greasy and one dessert sticky toffee pudding. Wouldn’t return, not good value for money

Forget Tom Cruise cocktail - bring on Victor @ Cruize! 🎉🎉🎉🎉 Popped into Cruize for a “night cap” which turned into another!! Victor’s cocktails were OUTSTANDING!!! the best French martini and the best old fashioned ever !! Bring back the cocktail classes please Auchrannie with Victor aka Tom Cruise heading up!! This place is beautiful, whether it be the staff or food! Service was absolutely fantastic, Jack was brilliant for the 2 days we were here. It was my partners birthday and he got a colleague to bring a special plate at dessert and sing happy birthday!

Went into Cruize Bar Brasserie after a swim in the leisure centre and found the service pretty slow, although friendly and the restaurant was not overly busy. The food served was ok. We also found the cost was pretty expensive.

Five of us had dinner here and a very mixed experience. Service at the bar was slow and poor. I had braised beef feather blade which when I started to eat it it was spicy and was not stated as so - I cannot take even mildly spicy food. I sent it back and the manager came back to say he and the chef tasted it and could not taste spice and the server asked if “ I put salt or pepper on it” which did not help matters. The dish was changed for fish and chips which were poor - as per a previous review very little fish and lots of batter which was not eadible. At this point my colleagues had finished their meals and I gave up on anything else.Two of the three fish dishes were the same. When I fed this back the manager took only one of the dishes of the bill the other mains were good but overall a very poor experience in terms of quality and for two of us an expensive poor meal. If we do stay at the resort we will not be eating here again.

We have been regular visitors at the Auchrannie for a lot of years, we booked dinner for our family; the waitress that served us was very good at her job, however we could not say the same for the two young bar staff, we stood at the bar to be served, we were not acknowledged, they carried on talking between themselves shaking cocktails, yes they were busy but all it takes is for them to acknowledge the person stood at the bar, however we were totally ignored, I found this to be rude and terrible customer service, perhaps the management need to invest in some training. This has been a regular occurrence over the last several visitors with the same staff!

I have always selected Auchrannie as a go to treat. I have lived on Arran for 20+ years and always looked forward to a visit. Not so much this time. My daughter was visiting with her partner and children so we booked this as a last night treat. Unfortunately, we both chose fish & chips which were not the best. The batter was quite inedible and contained very little fish. ( Certainly not white and flaky). Service was fine as staff were very pleasant. In future, I will choose an alternative restaurant venue.

We came here for dinner one night on our honeymoon having been given a voucher for our wedding. It was absolutely delicious! The wait person was so lovely and couldn't do enough for us. Food arrived quickly and, even though the restaurant was really busy, nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely go back!

Fairly priced and beautiful restaurant aesthetically, however the food was average and the service a definitive disappointment. There appeared to be a server catering to each area however they were not attentive enough, drinks orders were very slow in particular and when an error was raised they brought up the ipad to prove they requested the correct item from the bar... this was completely unnecessary and unprofessional. Perhaps the younger members of staff could do with some training. That being said , when the seemingly more senior member of staff did bring out a dish , a request was made and the response was "I'll ask your server to do this immediately" and they actually walked away and did not complete the request , so perhaps all staff could do with some customer service training. The fajitas arrived on a piping hot skillet which we were warned about however when someone accidentally grazed the dish it left a burn immediately. I understand they need to be hot to serve but this seemed excessive.

We recently decided to go to Auchrannie spa for lunch on a miserable rainy day as it meant the kids could use the soft play and would not be bored. As a local family we have know auchrannie for a long time and it is no longer really aimed at locals. The food is so overpriced. I discovered on my last visit what used to be a generous sharing platter now came with the four tiniest slithers of cheese that you’ll weren’t even able to share them and were left with loads of Salmon and nothing to eat it with after, when I asked I was told that’s how much you get now. If I could find the picture I would share as it’s shocking. On this visit we had a pizza that came with basically no cheese, a chicken salad sandwich (with chips that they forgot) it was pretty bare on chicken. If you want a burger with chips you’re looking at about £20 alone for that so that out us off. The girl serving the rest of my family was the slowest staff member and when the food came she brought only forks. We had to ask for knives and then go and ask for salt and pepper and sauce, after the food was sat on the table nobody checked in so the only option was to go and find someone to ask. As we were eating we could see water running down the fireplace and it got wetter and wetter, just as the kids finished lunch and went to play they were quickly ushered out the soft play as the roof was leaking and the indoor softplay was soaked. This totally scuppered our plans and we left quickly after this as all the games suitable for young kids in the games room were also out of order. Overpriced, poor quality food and poor customer service.

Lots of gluten free dishes available with either gf or gfa labelled on the menu. Also two gluten free beers; Drygate on tap and bottles of Joker IPA. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable about gluten free and cross contamination. Really recommend the risotto with split pea pasta as it was very tasty! Would recommend to book ahead.

We had dinner on Wednesday night and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. My partner is a pescatarian and found there to be loads of options. The king prawn fajitas were lovely. Our waiter Frazer was really pleasant and attentive , an asset to the restaurant! Thanks again to the team at Cruize

Having spent the last two nights at the Auchrannie hotel and dining in the Cruize restaurant for breakfast and dinner both days, we were blown away by the service in particular by Keelor who was so incredibly attentive and uplifting. My husband and I have been going here for years however this was our first time with our toddler and as he’s a fussy eater we were quite anxious about meal times. Keelor really stood out to us as he was so engaging and patient with our little one. We could see him doing the same with other families and it was really lovely to see. The three of us will definitely be back again soon for this reason!

What more can I say? Just home, 2 days after our fantastic night in Cruize and we are still talking about how fab it was. My husband (vegan) and I weren’t staying at the hotel but struggling to find vegan options booked Cruize due to fact there was options for my husband. Meal was delicious and better vegan options than many places in Glasgow. Brilliant value. I actually thought we had been undercharged when we got the bill. Other places need to take a leaf What made the night however was the service. Top class. It was a Sat night but the minute we walked in we were welcomed and even moved to a ‘better’ table, than the one allocated - not requested by us but offered by you. The star of the night however was our waiter Billy. He couldn’t have been more attentive, accommodating and brilliant. He’s an asset to you and the Auchrannie. We will be back

We ate a few times in Cruize, for lunch and dinner and the food was excellent. Staff really friendly and the restaurant is kept very clean. One minor criticism is that the dinner time was restricted to 75 minutes per table, not ideal for large groups or if you wanted to have 3/4 courses. Felt like we had to rush our food although there was no pressure from the staff as such. Perhaps this should be pointed out at the time of booking? Ideally should be a 2 hour slot. This place is perfect for families and couples alike and very spacious with a separate bar area.

A recent and mostly pleasant stay in Auchrannie ended in disaster when I picked up food poisoning from their Cruize restaurant.Had the banana ice cream slider for desert. Thought it wasn't quite right when it arrived in front of me as the chocolate sponge was frozen solid. Had to use a fork to break it up as the spoon wasn't strong enough. Ate it regardless, however it was absolutely flavourless. Fast forward 2 hours and I was the most ill I have been in my life. Severe vomiting and diarrhea which lasted a day and a half. Ended up missing 2 working days as a result. This desert was the only thing I ate in 48 hours which someone else didn't have a bit of. Informed the duty manager when we checked out but he couldnt be less interested. Have since been emailed by another manager who is desperate not to take responsibility and persistent on blaming a stomach bug. He even went as far to say my doctor hadn't carried out the correct procedure when diagnosing my illness. Very poor treatment from a reputable resort. Spent a small fortune during our 2 night stay and no compensation offered. Even forced to pay for the meal that made me unwell. Certainly won't be back.

Dined here on Friday evening,we hadn’t booked but got a table anyway. The food was quick to arrive and substantial. My wife had the bruschetta followed by the gnocchi,I had the haggis nachos followed by the cheese & bacon hotdog. If I could make one recommendation it would be to change the bun on the hot dog.

It is a shame that when sitting on the window seats the blinds are permanently down restricting the views to the hills. It would be great to sit looking across the vista with an interrupted view. Ok, if it’s sunny, Lower the blinds but it would be nice to see out! The food was excellent, breakfasts superb and cannot fault the service. Just let some light in please and let diners see the wonderful scenery

This restaurant is for families and is attached to a swimming, activity centre and spa suite. It is really for families on the move. Staff are attentive. Meal selection is spot on for its market. Cafe rather than restaurant, but that takes nothing away, there are three restaurants on-site, so there is a theme or type to suite everyone.

We stayed a couple of nights in the Spa part of the Auchrannie resort and decided to eat at Cruize on our last night. We had enjoyed a drink or two the previous evening in a relaxed atmosphere towards the end of the evening. We weren’t aware that our stay overlapped with the October school week so when we arrived for pre dinner drinks the following night there were a lot of families in with their kids. The brasserie has a soft play area as well so there was a bit of coming and going from there which could have spoiled our evening. Fortunately the staff seemed to realise the situation, not with us in particular but our table was set away from most families and I thought this was well planned. There was a little noise but I think you need to be patient and accept that parents are entitled to bring the family out for a meal. Anyway the food was excellent, we had fish and chips and the haddock risotto, accompanied by a nice Shiraz and draught Heverlee. I must say we found the staff to be excellent, friendly and knowledgeable. Price wise I think it was competitive with other good places to eat in Brodick but better appointed. We also had breakfast the following morning and found the quality to be as good as our evening meal. Overall I was really impressed with the standard at Cruize.

We had something to drink in the Cruize Bar the Service was alright while we were waiting we spoke amongst ourselves and then when the service finally came over we ordered a drink as that night we were going to have a meal at the Glenisle Hotel and Bistro

We literally couldn’t hear ourselves speak as there were so many unsupervised babies crying and toddlers screaming. One of he waitresses even told us it was unbearable by the end of her shifts. We changed our bookings for dinner to the hotel. This was better but meant going out in really bad weather. All in all our two day break was a complete waste of money. When I wrote to customer services the reply was that the resort is sometimes vibrant! Possibly a good place for young families but not for seniors

We stayed in house hotel but chose to have dinner in Cruize as the menu appealed to us. We were not disappointed. Going back next summer with the family and looking forward to it.

I cannot recommend. Waiting staff did not know content of menu. The "Hi guys" style of service was used here . My wife and I are in our 60's so this had no impression whatsoever. From the menu I chose pizza. It was clearly not fresh despite the exorbitant price of £15.50. I would not go back.

Staff were great , excellent choices I had the porridge and my wife had the Haddock both were cooked to order 🍽👍

Looked for somewhere to take the family, including 3 children for dinner and picked Auchrannie because of the children's play area. Food was delicious and the kids buffet was a bonus, no complaints at all. It was very busy and quite noisy so I wouldn't want to go in high season just the two of us but for families and kids couldn't recommend highly enough. Price wise I would say it's comparable to other places in Arran. Our waitress was great, girl from Luton-sorry didn't catch her name.

We came to Cruize in the highly regarded Auchrannie Spa and found ourselves in a venue that felt like a 90s Butlins. Big, barn-like and pretty bland. Several staff members wandered around and chatted but it took a while for anyone to approach us (there's a sign telling you to wait).

Stayed at the wonderful resort attached. Thought we’d try the Cruise restaurant which on appearance was fantastic. Thoughtful decor with a cosy ambiance that made you feel like a special dining experience.

We had 1 meal and 2 breakfasts here. Very clean, good choice on menu and in buffet for morning. Staff were mostly very friendly. We will definitely be back for food if visiting Arran.

From a fairly good menu we opted for fish and chips and a goat fell haggis pizza. The pizza base was more like a flatbread and it was a touch too sweet on the tomatoes on the base. The fish was nice but small and completely swamped in soggy batter. The chips were small thin and very dry. It’s a bad day when the best thing about the meal was the mushy peas. For dessert we opted for Raspberry Cranachan and an Ice Cream Sundae which redeemed the meal

Excellent breakfast in a friendly relaxed atmosphere, all diets appear to be catered for, if you require something out with the buffet breakfast staff will tend to this

This was a family celebration for my birthday with eight adults and three children. I was given a complimentary glass of fizz and a pudding, complete with candle. My main meal was not quite right but it was replaced with no fuss or argument and I wasn't charged for the absolutely delicious replacement.

Good bar style lunch, would recommend the ploughman's sandwich is was delicious. Gourmet dogs for dinner were very filling.

My husband and I were staying at the Spa resort at Auchrannie for his birthday. Our bedroom was on the same floor as the Cruize bar so easy access. The breakfast is AMAZING! The sausages, bacon etc were delicious and you can have eggs cooked any way you like. There is fresh fruit, smoothies, meats, cheeses etc.

Second visit, and service was prompt and friendly. Fish and chips was hot and freshly cooked, whilst my wife’s gnocchi was tasty. The puddings are large so make sure you leave room if you’ve eyed one up on the menu - sticky toffee and the kid’s cookie tower both recommended.

Had dinner twice during our four night stay at Auchrannie and both times the food and service were good. First night Rob had Fish and Chips. I had Gnocchi Gratin (baked with spinach, mushrooms, mozzarella in tomato sauce). Second evening I had Chicken Supreme with braised little gem lettuce, bacon, peas, pea puree and potato wedges.- Rob had a very creamy Spaghetti Carbonara. Nothing particularly memorable but good food in pleasant surroundings. Restaurant was packed even in February but service was efficient and there was a definite buzz about the place.

We were not staying in the complex so found it difficult to even locate the restaurant, signposting and parking is not ideal. We booked a table, thank god because it was mobbed. The place was crazy with children running around and screaming, so wouldn't recommend for a quiet romantic meal. The food was pretty average, service was slow to order, for drinks and food etc. There was a children's buffet which was great and extensive. We ate our food quickly and left. Would not revisit.
