Crowes in Ceredigion

A little gem of a place! Stumbled upon Crowes whilst looking for lunch in Cardigan. Tucked away in Black Lion Mews, just off the High Street you will find Vegetarian/Vegan heaven. A tasty array of dishes all made by Becky such as veg lasagne/stilton and tomato tart/Hommity Pie/Felafel with all sorts of delicious salads. I was ‘Mmmmmmm-ing’ all the way through! You can tell it’s all lovingly made with top quality ingredients. I didn’t have room for cake afterwards but I saw lovely looking slices being eaten with gusto by other diners. You can eat in or takeaway. It’s a popular little place with the locals, has a very warm and friendly vibe and is a brilliant example of an independent local café. I’m so glad we found Crowes!

What a surprise this lovely little Vegetarian cafe is just off the Main Street in Cardigan. The food is lovingly made by Beccy. The coffee is the best in town I was reliably informed by locals in the cafe. We ate delicious fresh food made from fresh ingredients & I can’t recommend this cafe highly enough.

My fav cafe in Aberteifi! Food is reliably glorious and generous. So fresh and tasty with a variety of flavours & textures on one plate. Homily Pie is my current favourite. Can eat in, on courtyard or take away for a wonderful picnic by the river, park, etc. Whether arriving for the first or 21st time, everyone gets such a warm, friendly welcome - you feel at home right away. It’s tucked away down a lane off High St so easy to miss if you aren’t keen eyed. Definitely worth seeking out Crowes for an amazing treat for your tastebuds.

Outstanding home made food. Good selection of fresh hot dishes, vegetarian and vegan, lovely salads, fairly priced. Really friendly owner cook. Steady stream of regulars whilst we ate which is always a good sign. A real gem.

Lovely little cafe with amazing food - my wife had what she described as "the best quiche she's ever tasted", which is no small claim.

Becky has a gorgeous personality. We very much enjoyed her food, as my mum in law said: she feed our soul. Her food is made of love, warms your belly. When we visit Cardigan, we will be coming back here. Gorgeous 😍I highly recommend coming to this place. Perfect for your vegetarians and vegans too. But for those who aren't, definitely come.

Went for lunch after reading the reviews, and it did not disappoint! Becky was so warm and welcoming, and was fantastic in accommodating my nut allergy. I had a slice of the delicious blue cheese and tomato tart and all the salads except the one with nuts in. It was all really tasty and fresh, I would definitely recommend Crowes, and will go back if I'm in the area again. Thanks! :)

Quality food and as fresh as you like ! A great find, very friendly service and plenty of choice . Although vegetarian food, it suits everyone and I’m a big meat eater usually but was very satisfied with the choices available.

Such a delicious and healthy lunch, the owner couldn't have been more accommodating and welcoming. Our super fussy daughter is funny about 'mixed up' food so the lovely owner made her a plain cheese flat bread. My husband and son had the vegan pasty and the veggie lasagne with an incredible looking salad and I had the sweet potato stew which was very generous and tasty. Such a lovely place, the locals clearly love it too as they all knew everyone and they were very welcoming and chatted to a few of us. Would recommend to anyone, we are all avid meat eaters but I could have eaten everything in there, it all looked delicious. My son and I also had a carrot cake and brownie cake away and they were both beautiful! 😋

I thought that it would be good from the reviews. But when I got there, ate some food and found out that it was excellent. I loved it and the olives were brilliant. If you go there and have cake I strongly recommend the lemon drizzle cake. The staff (lady) was very friendly.

A fantastic find. Looking for a bite to eat quite late for lunch at 2pm, but Becky (the owner) welcomed us in and managed to create 5 plates of tasty wholesomeness from what was left on her counter. We all ate well (impressive with three fussy kids!). What made it extra special was that we enjoyed the friendly chat and atmosphere, felt like we were visiting a friend’s kitchen! So relaxed and very reasonable. Would highly recommend! So glad we were encouraged to stay, as it would have been crappy shop bought sandwiches otherwise. Thanks so much!

Awesome place and food, dont bother anywhere else. Coffee,desserts and mains are freshly prepared by owner and its healthy and wholesome. Dont waste your time going anywhere else in Cardigan .

We had a lovely lunch in Crowes today, really tasty, honest yummy food with the friendliest one woman show! I can’t recommend it enough.

We found this cafe, off the main street, when we visited in August. Its easy to find down the courtyard by the side of the Black Lion pub. Well we visited Cardigan again in October, specifically to have another lunch with Becky the owner. She recognised us from our August visit, & made us feel immediately welcome. The excellent vegetarian food is all home made on the day, & is delightful. We both had the Homitty Pie with all the salads, including a rather splendid warm beetroot straight from the oven. Even in October it was warm enough to eat outside in the sun trap of a courtyard. All the people we saw eating devoured their delicious food. We would highly recommend eating here you will not leave disappointed. A superb choice, just wish we lived closer. Thanks Becky a fantastic lunch again.

Becky at Crowes serves the most delicious selection of food and she is so friendly and helpful you can see why this is such a highly rated cafe. We had home made veggie lasagne and falafel, both with plates piled high with the mouthwatering home made salads. All excellent; we will be back ASAP :)

What a find! There are plenty of options here to make your perfect salad, delicious and filling. There are other ‘mains” on the menu if you prefer a hot meal. Great hospitality from Becky, creating a relaxed and friendly place to have lunch. Highly recommend.

Visiting the area for the first time, I called in for lunch at Crowes. What a treat! Veggie and Vegan options aplenty (I am a carnivore!), I had the Homity Pie with salad. A lovely generous plateful of heaven. So much so I returned again...

The food was really good, all home cooked. We are not vegan or even vegetarian but all the food is vegetarian at least but my falafel and salad was both.

What an amazing find, the most fabulous healthy wholesome comfort food in a relaxed atmosphere. Coffee was gorgeous and cakes looked fabulous but couldn't fit one in! Brilliant value for money. Frequented by the locals 'in the know' who are known to the lady cafe owner by name. Lovely.

We had a lovely lunch at Crowes today. Even though we arrived at the end of the lunch service. Becky still managed to put together two helpings of Homity pie, with interesting salads all put together effortlessly. Several other customers arrived while we ate and none left empty handed. Some were obviously regulars and confidently told Becky to just put together whatever was left. A mouthwatering blueberry and lime cake was dished up for one customer, it looked so good we couldn't resist having some too. The five star reviews are all totally justified. If we lived in Cardigan this would be our regular weekend lunch spot!

A brilliant hidden gem just off the high street. Delicious coffee and “the best brownie” our son has ever tasted. Becky is a fabulous host and the smells from the lunch cooking were very tempting!

Becky makes the most delicious vegan/vegetarian food. Her huge salads are homegrown leaves, homemade coleslaw/potato salad, carrot/seeds, beetroot & olives with lovely mustard or balsamic dressings. In the winter I love her tomato, squash, bean and pepper stew or one of her lush homemade soups (leek & potato is a favourite) served with a big hunk of Queen’s Bakery wholemeal bread. In fact, everything she makes is fab! My vegetarian daughters love Crowes.

We went to Crowes based on other TA reviews and we were not disappointed. The homity pie and quiche were both excellent with plenty of salad to accompany them. Lots of locals popped in for takeaways and a chat with Becky. She is an excellent cook and 'front of house'. We would thoroughly recommend a visit and come with a big appetite.
