Quite a thick batter on the fish - always a bad sign. The lunch deal is huge for £5.50 and the rest was very nice.

Getting another Sunday Supper from here this evening. Really can't beat it 😀

Came for gluten free chips but was told it wasn’t worth them putting the frier on for. Probs take them off the menu.

Outstanding, chicken kebab not to be missed

The only high point is that it’s not too expensive. Chips were stale and hard in the middle, fish was mushier than the peas and tasteless.

Amazing CHIPPY, best fish and chips I have tried so far, fish was very yummy, delicious batter and perfectly cooked chips, tasty kebab special and lots of other specials for the rest of the family. 5🌟

My favourite place for a Friday night dinner , best Fish and Chips in town. Large portions and delicious food, can't recommend enough. Staff is very friendly and nice, lots of variety on the menu including Gluten Free Fish and Chips and vegan options.

Absolutely terrible! Paper stuck to chips. Chips soggy. Fish batter soggy. Not even sure it was actually cod! Peas were ok. Why is it so hard to find a good fish and chip shop around here?

Amazing food , lovely fish , hot and delicious, tasty batter and yummy chips …first time trying definitely coming back for seconds.

Really disappointed with the food we had this evening. Was told I would wait 8 minutes and it ended up being 20+ mins. Food went in and out of the hot cabinet so many times it was luke warm and steamed by the time we came to eat it. For £25 I expected a lot better food and experience. In future I will avoid.

CFB would take more money if they took card or phone payments. Cost of banking cash is more than electronic payment. Most businesses recognise this.

If you’re looking for pure Sheffield goodness. This is the place to go. Has been my go-to chippy for over 10 years! There’s no point going anywhere else, this is the chippy for me. Rate good!

Always fresh and large portions

Bang average chippy. Staff are lovely and the place is always busy but the food is un inspiring. I fist came here 10 years ago and it was ok nothing more. So after reading reviews on here I decided to give it another go and again I’m disappointed. Where every chip I eat taste of fish (I didn’t order fish) I can name 3 chip shops near here that are way better. It’s average at best which is a shame as it’s my local one. 👎🏼

I discovered this place recently and I was really impressed with the food , had an amazing fish and chips dinner , perfectly cooked fish , big portions and I also had a Kebab Special which was very nice. Staff was friendly and efficient. Top notch 👍

I would definitely recommend to anyone this chippy as it is definitely worth the hype. It is quite popular with the locals, so it can get busy at times, but the service is really efficient.

I've recently discovered this hidden gem, my third visit and you simply can't get better autentic fish and chips. Great service, nice big portions and really friendly staff. I've also tried their kebab special which was also an amazing deal and very tasty , and the homemade chicken curry was alo spot on. 5*

I have been going to this chip shop for ten years now , I have never left dissapointed , the fish and chips is always nice and fresh , big portions , they also do gluten free fish and chips , and my girlfriend is really happy because she can have her favourite meal of the week. Staff is very friendly and very efficent.

Delicious fish and chips, food is always cooked fresh and just the way I like it. Love their Haddock, but I also like the Cod. The staff is really friendly & with a smile on 😊, if you have any request on how you like your food to be cooked the staff will go the extra mile for you, they are always happy to help. My kids love their variety in the menu, they have some really good specials, nice big portions and afordable prices. All in all the best chippy în town for our family.

The batter was crispy and the roe was absolutely delicious. A tasty fish and chips although quite expensive for what was a single feed of a simple dish (£3 for a large chips)

Every week for the past 13 years we’ve been coming to this chippy for our fish and chips meal , the fish is always cooked as we like it , the batter is light and golden and the portions are huge. My wife also loves their Gluten Free Fish and Chips which she says is mouthwatering and not greasy at all . My kids love their specials especially the chicken bites one and the kebab special. In all these years they never disappointed , can’t fault them , and the staff is really friendly with their customers and they always have a smile on.

By far the best Fish and Chips I've tried so far , food is always nice and fresh , the staff is very friendly and they provide a good service. The fish is outstanding ,big portions , good chips and some amazing deals. All in all is a staple in my family, my kids love it also and they are happy that they always get a free lollipop when they come to the shop :D

I’ve always had the option that good fish and chips are hard to find in Sheffield. We always drive from S10 to Whitby’s in Catcliffe. Swayed by the positive reviews I thought I’d give this place a try. The service was courteous and efficient and I couldn’t ask for more on that front. I ordered haddock and chips. The chips were plentiful and I can’t fault the portions, but unfortunately the chips were dry and tough, suggesting they had been sat in the warmer for far too long. The fish wasn’t the best either with batter that was soft and not in the slightest bit crispy. They also didn’t fry in beef fat like most proper chippies do. Unfortunately most of my diner went in the bin. I’m mystified by the high praise this place gets. Either people don’t know what good fish and chips taste like or I caught them on an off night. Having said all the above this place is no worse than many of the other well regarded chippies in s10, but as much as I’d love a local chippy it seems this won’t be it.

Great chipy, great staff. However, the management have a sign in the window saying the take card payments. With a caveat when entering of a minimum £20 spend. Why?

Worst chips I’ve ever had from a takeaway. Soggy yet crunchy on the inside. Curry sauce was really watery too. Only saving grace was the battered sausage

This is a lovely Chippy, I have been going here for aproximately 15 years, the food is really tasty, big portions, not greasy, the variety of food is quite good , they have all sorts of things including kebabs, chicken curry etc. *They also have all sorts of really good specials. The staff is very friendly and the place is clean , it is a popular place but you never wait too long and is definitely worth it. They have also been doing free deliveries for my Mum , in this tough time , during the pandemic, because she is over the age of 65 and she was shielding in her home , but thanks to them, she did not missed out on her favourite dinner of the week, fish and chips. She told me that the food was always delivered quick and that the fish and chips was always delicious. I would definitely recommend this place.

Ordered take away from here twice and the quality is inconsistent, so I won't be visiting again. First time round: Fresh fish and portion of chips was very generous. Chips were freshly fried (crispy) and we couldn't be happier. Second time round (2 weeks later): Fish was fresh and up to standard. Unfortunately the scampi was overcooked, far too brown and crispy. The chips were soggy, they weren't fresh and had definitely been double fried as they were dark in colour and soggy with oil (not vinegar!). My wife and I are very disappointed as I moved here recently and was hoping to find a local chippy for a take out twice a month. I would only recommend their fish, nothing else.
