Just had a takeaway from here, took over an hour and forgot my husbands chicken rice BUT, all is forgiven. Food is amazing and really generous portions so, we had leftovers, definitely ordering again!

Went out for a family meal the first one in a while booked a table for 5 o’clock and arrived on time . We were seated and bought drinks and ordered our meal, 45 minutes went past so we ordered more drinks, an hour past we were told our food wouldn’t be long and ordered more drinks, 1 hour and 45 minutes passed and we decided to leave to which it cost us £30 for drinks. All the time we were there they were bringing food out for takeaway drivers.I never got an apology until I wrote a review and a message to them on fb and then their customer service was disgusting. They obviously do not care about the customers who come to their restaurant. It cost me £18 on Uber taxis and then the £30 on drinks and then to not eat and not get a heart felt apology. I will definitely not be using this restaurant again

Amazing genuine Nepalese food with an extremely friendly team of staff. The menu is designed for everyone from mild to hotter than the sun curry's. I highly recommend their Momo though, it's the best I've had

Went there the other day with my family. We had a nice time last we went there so I thought it would be the same. Unfortunately there was a hour and a half wait for the starter alone and we could see them bringing countless takeaways out of the kitchen, obviously taking priority over that than their actual customers who took their time to actually go to the restaurant. We even booked a table in advance to make sure we would have a spot, but they didn’t even care about that. After waiting for a total of an hour and 45 minutes we decided to leave, and even though one of the staff seemed apologetic, they would continue to have us pay full price for the drinks, even though us waiting was why we had so many drinks to begin with. If they at least gave us a discount on our drinks or something then I might be more lenient, but all they’re saying to my mum, who’s also put a review, is “we’ve already apologised what more do you want?” Which I think is disgusting and disrespectful. Definitely won’t come back here again. But the Chinese we had when we got home was great at a quarter of the price 👍

Booked a table for 5pm we arrived on time. Ordered drinks and received soft popadoms with sauces. After waiting a further 1hour and 45 minutes without receiving our meals we decided to leave. We never got an apology or anything deducted from our drinks. Will never be returning to this restaurant. All the time we were waiting loads of food was being bought out of the kitchen to takeaway drivers

It’s been a while since we last went to this wonderful restaurant (23 years). Absolutely lived up to expectations. Friendly folks serving brilliant food. Our son’s first visit “The Best Chicken Curry, I’ve ever had”. Definitely won’t leave it so long until the next visit.

Our second visit Wow, this place rocks. We went with two friends, as always, the staff are excellent, very polite and friendly, the owner has an enduring smile and a personality to match. The food was excellent, all 4 of our group enjoyed a memorable meal. Interestingly this restaurant is busy even on a cold and damp Thursday evening, that tell you loads. Oh yes, I had the chilli sausage as a starter and the Nepali beef, which melted faster than butter. Me and my fiance went there for a celebratory meal on Saturday and not only was the food absolutely beautiful but the staff were so friendly and went above and beyond for us. We would highly recommend coming here and you won't be disappointed. We will definitely be going back regularly from now on.

We ordered nepalese curry beef, curry chicken and fried noodles with mutton.. It was delicious.. The beef and chicken were tender and both the curry were lovely and of different taste.. Go check out the menu recomended by chef and their specialities. Lovel and delicious

Having only eaten Indian food I didn’t know what to expect, but I have discovered Nepalis cuisine I won’t go back. The food was excellent a lot lighter and more flavoursome than your typical Indian restaurant. The staff were attentive polite and very friendly, as for the owner he is still every inch a Ghurka Sgt Major. Definitely visit again but will bring friends next time.

Lovely food and friendly service. No rushing you out as soon as you finish. It was very quiet when we went so the atmosphere was affected by that but if you want a leisurely meal somewhere you can hold a conversation this is a good choice of venue.

Saw the reviews for this restaurant on Tripadvisor and decided to give it a go. Wow!! Absolutely amazing meal, really lovely staff and the lovely owner was a joy to talk to. Would definitely go again if we’re ever in the area.

Amazing delicious food. Attentive friendly staff in beautiful traditional clothing. We went for an impromptu meal on Xmas Eve as we were having drinks in the pub and nowhere was open for food. Wonderful meal was had by all. Room was a bit cold but the more diners, the warmer it got. Lovely to see the owner again as it appears the place has changed. Missed my hill bill sauce with the special Cross Khurkris Gurkha chicken but was really full and happy from it all.

Had a takeaway absolutely delicious ordered 2 curries one rice and a naan bread. Delivered on time with complimentary popadoms and dips. It was outstanding highly recommended 😋

It was a Sunday so very quiet. We were the only ones there towards the end, but the food was as good as ever.

Warm & friendly welcome from the staff and the food is amazing. We booked a table and we're glad that we had as there was a steady stream of people coming in to eat and they were also busy with takeaways. Starters: meat momo x1 Mains: sizzling lamb chops (no. 38 without sauce, with chips!); beef pahdi (no. 39 mild with rice); chefs special prawn (no. 46, with rice). Drinks: cider x2 (£3.60); large glass wine (£5.10). Meals were hot & absolutely gorgeous. I could definitely have had a hot beef pahadi, but I'll have that next next time, as we'll definitely be returning.

Update: Recently visited after a long time ignoring my own last review for delayed service and now changing rating from three to one star for more worst experience ☹️. Went on Sunday evening with a friend and ended up waiting for ~40 minutes to get our food severed. When we mentioned the delay, we were bluntly told by the waiter that WE HAVE TO WAIT AS WE HAVE COME AFTER OTHER GATHERING WHICH WAS BEEN SERVED ON PRIORITY !! Firstly there was so much delay in serving food and on top of that replying rudely was too much of an insult. As a restaurant, if you know that you cannot serve your customers on time then you should call out before making them seated, allowing them to take a wise decision nor making them wait for long and responding rudely. This was my last visit for sure. -------- Previous review ------- Food taste good. It is one of famous Indian/Asian restaurants in Nuneaton. Only reason for 5 stars is the slow service. On my last visit I happen to loose my patience at the end. Suggestion: Better to go for take away. Order 15-20 min advance & pickup.

Very poor service. On saying that it was a long wait, the waiter replied - you have to wait. If we knew we had to wait for an hour, then we would go to some other place. I am not going to visit there again.

Hom the owner runs a small but atmospheric restaurant. The place is well situated in the town centre and is a wonderful place for a quiet secluded meal with your wife/husband or family and or friends. The decor is simple but effective and the staff are very helpful. The food is excellent and the prices are competitive, this place is well worth the time and effort to go and visit. Clean, tidy and great food. One to try when your in Nuneaton.

It was a day when I and my partner came to the restaurant after making appointment, I didn’t like the approach of one of the old english lady who had a brown short hair. She was very rude to us and her words were very harsh. She was very arrogant and felt she is not treating customer in a way one should. I came to know she was one of the partner of the restaurant. Its not a restaurant that is bad, it is that lady approach who made us feel bad and is not good for the image of such a nice restaurant of the town.

Restaurants is average, Food wise very poor Nepalese owner is good but One of the British lady she has short hair she is the rudest person We ever seen .. she don’t know how to deal with the customers . I think she don’t like Asian customers around she judge the people … I will advise all the people don’t go to their restaurants …

We visited the Crossed Khukris on Friday 22nd April 2022. Our table was at 8.30pm, parked right outside the front door where theres on-street parking. A bit of history if you are not local, the owner, Om Gurung, is a former Regimental Sergeant Major with...

If you don't know what Nepalese food is like, you are in for a treat! Imagine north Indian/Chinese food, but with a fresher taste and far less oil. A range of delicate herbs and spices, with superb quality meat, all form some of the tastiest food you can get! If you also add the range of breads, my favourite is arguably the best Lashun roti (Garlic naan bread) you will ever taste. I have been visiting the Crossed Khukris since it first opened in 1998 and regularly enjoy a monthly take-away. The refresh of the restaurant has given it a good update, made it more "airy", lighter and even more comfortable. When you enter the restaurant, you are greeted by the friendly staff and the owner, all smartly dressed in traditional Nepalese costume. The choice of drinks either at the table or on the soft chairs by the bar. I recommend the Gurkha Beer (lager) that comes to you in a giant 660ml bottle, would love to get a case for home. There's a range of beers, wines, spirits and soft drinks. They even have Coca-cola in glass bottles. I have not seen that for years. They divide the menu vegetarian and non-vegetarian. I have tasted almost every one of the starters over the years. However, my favourites are the Momo (steamed dumplings) with a range of fillings. You dip them into sauces that take them to another level and Sandeko khasi, a Lamb dish of cooked over charcoal and marinated with sesame seeds, fresh chillies, coriander, onions, capsicums and spices. They serve it cold with sliced seared onions and fresh salad. My wife loves the Sandeko khasi, but has a passion for the Chilli Sausages. The range of main courses is really extensive. Again, if you are familiar with "Indian/Pakistani/Bangladeshi/Chinese" food, you will be in Gastro-heaven with the choice here. I love the Lamb and beef (yes, they do beef in Nepal) curry. The range that the Crossed Khukris has on the menu is wide enough for you to eat there once a month for four years and never have the same dish twice! The specialities are wonderful, on this visit I had the Gurkha beef that is usually a very hot dish, however, I cannot manage it hot at present and they cooked it mild just for me. I also ordered boiled basmati rice and a garlic naan. The wife ordered chicken chowmein, but not the sort you get at a regular Chinese takeaway. It has a different noodle, with garlic, chilli, ginger, herbs and spices. It's a very aromatic dish that comes out in a cloud of steam and fills the air with a pungent smell. She's had the lamb and beef versions and orders it regularly. She loves the Chef's special prawns too. A really unusual dish if you like shellfish. From sitting down to being presented with some complimentary papadams took only a few minutes. Our starters following inside a minute or two of our papadam's being cleared away. As usual, we swapped halfway through. I wish Om would offer a mixed starter so we could have a little of each of our favourites. The restaurant was busy for a Friday night, where weekends are busier in the restaurant than in the week. Personally, I love eating there on a Thursday night. It's busy, but not as much as the weekend. The main course took a few minutes from our starters being cleared away. We had already drank the very quaffable Gurkha beer and ordered some more. Service was fast and efficient. Our main meals came out and I think I've found a new "must have", in the milder Gurkha beef, it's gorgeous! Fresh aroma of herbs wafted up from the plate, mouthwatering! The size of the meals on the monogrammed china fills the plate. The basmati rice was delicate and cooked to perfection and, being totally honest. You could just give me a plate of the Lashun roti (Garlic naan bread), I would be a happy man!!! It's soft, with a texture within the bread where you get the flavours of sour yogurt and the buttery goodness rolling over your tongue, then bam! Soft garlic that doesn't come with that harsh hot/bitter flavour you would normally associate with other garlic breads. Usual high standards, look forward to next months visit!

Very tasty food, Mr Om greeting us as the door. Was surprisingly quiet for a Friday. We were in no rush thankfully as took a while to take our order and asked for mains and 1 starter to come out together... They didn't.

I made a late booking last Saturday and everything was excellent. The food and service was faultless and we will definitely be booking again soon.

Really good food decent price £123 4 adult tons of drinks and a bottle of wine. Service a bit questionable but we did go at a popular time so I would fault them for that .
