Crispins in Chichester

Lovely cafe with great choice of good value and tasty food. So nice to get a pot of tea with a pot of hot water too, this is rare these days….. I had a homemade tomato and Basil soup and later sticky toffee pudding both very yummy! Friendly atmosphere, definitely be going again :)

First visit and will definitively return. Very friendly welcome. Prompt service, generous small breakfast. A minor mix up on the order which didn’t take from my enjoyment.

Arrived to meet a work colleague on a rainy (oh shocker), dull, Monday morning. Was greeted with a smile and presented with a smile inducing, good tasting, flat white coffee. Will be back!

This is a lovely cafe. We are always warmly welcomed by the owner, and the staff are always friendly and helpful. The food is good quality and plentiful. We had the full English breakfast this time, which included good quality sausages and bacon.Previously we have enjoyed sandwiches and wraps, every time we have found the food delicious and good value. Coffee is of a high standard too. Highly recommended.

Really enjoyed my sausage and chutney sandwich with chunky chips. Husband had the coronation chicken with crisps and salad. Both good choices but everything coming out of the kitchen looked good.

Exactly what I needed! Took a colleague here for lunch and it was perfect. Ham eggs and chips, and a Vegetarian breakfast. Very friendly staff, plenty of space (it's bigger than you think) and I'll be going there again 100%.

What a nice place with lovely people front of house and looking after the tables/people. The chap who welcomes you in is genuine and caring. The menu was expansive and even had friendly options for my vegan wife. The food portion size was very generous in all cases. Vegan all-day breakfast was the best I've had. It all worked. Brilliant!

Ready for breakfasts when others hadn’t bothered opening their doors. Had 5* breakfast friendly welcome speedy service spot on cooked breakfast. Couldn’t fault.

The breakfast was superb my wife and I had the same two cheese on toast with two fried eggs . Delicious, service first class . And lovely coffee. Asked for a large tea big teapot and a jug of hot water. Owner and staff very polite and friendly. Would certainly go again. Give it a try you won’t be disappointed

A little slow with the service, however if you want great food you have to wait for it. Very clean and well prepared , presented fair. You can always judge a breakfast from the quality of the sausage and bacon. Top class. Thank you.

I was here this morning whilst listening to a French language lesson... as the French would say "le petit-dejeuner anglais c'est tres bien ici" I really recommend the full english, really well made, kneatly presented and locally sourced produce used.. everything on the plate was cooked to perfection.. don't know about anything sold here but the full english is top score.

Lovely hidden cafe, which is actually a good size and loads of seating, it's so hard to find somewhere that does a variety of food cafe style in this day and age! Nice atmosphere, very clean, very friendly staff, been here twice now first time had a chicken wrap which was lovely, second time had a breakfast which was average so I think it depends what you have, will definitely be back though.

We used to love coming to this cafe we’ve given it a try on a few occasions since new ownership. I felt very pressured when ordering as the new owner made me order extras and sides. I have a feeling this was because the cafes never busy anymore which is a shame. I never normally write reviews but something isn’t right as no staff seem to stay anymore. It’s such a shame to see my favourite waitress leave as she really made it for us. Luckily a few girls that used to work at the front are still there but they seem to be pushed to the side. However the food and drinks are still good, however we won’t be regulars anymore due to the changed atmosphere.

What a gem, beautiful inside, vast menu & a wonderful welcome. Popped in with friends for coffee & cake, the coffee milkshake was delicious as was the cake. Definitely no scrimping on portions. Will visit for lunch next time.

Lovely place to eat. It looks great after a refit with new owners. My son who was visiting from Australia & I had delicious jacket potatoes. There were clean plates afterwards. Great friendly service. Would definitely be returning.

Lovely cafe! Lots of seating area and a garden space too which is enclosed so just the right temperature most of the time. Service was friendly and quick and the food was amazing! Delicious and hot. Wide variety of dishes from full English, pancakes and eggs benedict. Highly recommend!

Good not as good as it was with previous owners

My pregnant daughter and myself had brunch here and the staff could not have been more welcoming or helpful. Her "picky" needs were catered for and the seati g area and toilets were absolutely spotless. Very pretty decor too. Food was lovely and we shall now refer to Crispins" as "our place".

Love unique tea room with different themed rooms. Never seen anything like it. My sandwich was lovely vut the tropical tornado wasn't for me. Would definitely go back.

Having been to Crispins on several occasions before I suggested to a friend we pop in for lunch. We sat out in the court yard. Lovey little spot in the sunshine. I had pancakes, bacon and maple syrup my friend had roasted veg and hallomi salad. Both had iced coffee. Once again meals were delicious, generous, fresh and home cooked. Staff are friendly its also very reasonably priced. Having been there before I would also say again their breakfasts are amazing.

I thought the staff here were great, we received a very warm welcome and service was good. Sitting by the rear outdoor area is pleasant and bright. For me, the real irritation is having some bland, Heart FMish radio station on in the background. I wouldn't normally object to a bit of background music but irritating DJs are a complete annoyance! Food was OK, plenty of it, but nothing special.

We going this delightful cafe on the august bank holiday Monday we received a very warm welcome the menu is extensive from a simple sandwich to lunch I had the stew my daughter had the scampi both delicious and plentiful service was quick and very friendly nothing to much trouble would thoroughly recommend go there you want be disappointed.

My wife and I visited for lunch last Friday. She had scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and avocado on toast and I had sausage, egg and chips. They were both beautifully cooked and presented and tasted lovely. Good portion sizes too. We will be back.

I think we might have turned up on an 'off day'. Part of my order was missing but corrected straight away. Unfortunately, the halloumi was only cooked on one side. My other half found the bacon a little rubbery and quite salty and didn't finish it - which is very unlike him! The ketchup was quite vinegary. I'm not sure what the vege sausages were made from, but they tasted very different to one's I've had previously. The meat sausages were very tasty, and eggs cooked well.

Crispin's has become our regular visit for lunch after shopping. The staff are always friendly and welcoming .The food is good and very good value. The jacket potatoes are some of the best with the fillings ample.

We were welcomed as we arrived, and we took our table. Decided what we wanted and ordered at the counter, stating our table number. The drinks were on the table before I had finished paying. The jacket potatoes were wonderful, hot and plenty of filling in them, with a nice small salad and coleslaw. There are lots of cafes to chose from in Chichester, I am glad we decided to eat in Crispins.

What a little gem in the heart of Chichester. Stopped there for a light lunch with a friend. I had garlic mushrooms on toast, my friend had avocado and poached egg on toast. So tasty and definitely a lunch size portion. Would definitely recommend. The only reason I gave 4 and not 5 stars is because it is not table service, you need to order at the desk.

We have spoken to the new owner prior to putting this review which I think is fair We are regular visitors to Crispins cafe, and this has been my first visit since change of ownership. The most noticeable observation was the lack of customers. The place is usually buzzing, but it was a Sunday lunch visit, and the sun was shining, so people may have other plans. We ordered our food from the counter which came out within about 15 mins great. I ordered an All day breakfast and my wife a ceasar salad. Both were OK with the following observations, which we spoke to the manager about. Fried eggs over cooked, so they were hard, no beans even though the menu says it. NOT tomatoes or beans as told by the waitress and manager. The bread used to be proper cobs or similar, but now just regular square packet bread. The salads on the are no longer mixed leave, and presented nicely but some shredded ice burg with a slice of tomato and cucumber. Average price for both meals which was as expected as its the same menu. All I can add to make this place better is, presentation makes a massive difference and use locally sourced fresh produce. It's so much better. Its lost its special touch as Crispins Cafe

What to say? From start to finish it was a crispins experience! The staff where friendly and the coffee? A relief from the express and to go of the world. Not to mention the food, lovingly and well prepared food that would go down the hatch leaving only a smile. It was a fun break from the sun and a happy destination for our tummies to have visited. Upon leaving we have already said we should plan to journey down again just for Crispins!

Whenever I shop in Chichester which is still my favourite town to shop in, despite further shop closures, crispins is always my first choice for lunch or just coffees The staff are always so friendly, the service is very quick & the food is delish!...

Ordered a take away sandwich today asked for no tomato, £6.55 (which should come with a salad garnish & crisps) stated on website. Once I had collected the sandwich and taken back to work to eat it, I find no trace of a salad nor any crisps. Also 3 slices of tomato. I will not be back.

Nice cafe, lovely manager, good coffee and scones

Bit disappointed today. Not up to their usual standard. My sister had a breakfast bap, and the bap was rock hard; couldn't even cut it with a knife. She wouldn't let me complain, though, so I didn't let the staff know.

Lovely place, one of us in a wheelchair and plenty of room for us, one with a small appetite, a small all-day breakfast just right. We also had chicken, ham and leek pie, and flan and salad. Food is lovely, with a great price, and it is great value for money. Staff are very happy and helpful. We will definitely be doing there again in the future.
