Good food, but no effort seems to have been made to space out the tables despite COVID. Some are well within 2m of each other, with no screens between. If you’re concerned or vulnerable, bear it in mind.

The staff are so welcoming and friendly and have always been so impressed by their customer service. I am always disappointed when I have a curry from anywhere else because it is never as good as Long Crendon. 11/10.

Went here yesterday with family..I had the crendon chicken tikka masala. The chicken tikka was very dry and the sauce I thought was quite hot. I am not big fan of hot and spicy foods. I did not want to complain as I find it embarrassing I was also super hungry. The onion bajis that my bf had were to dye for for crispy. His dish which I think was called Arduha chicken was sweet but very nice.Staff are all friendly, smiley and welcoming.Would happily go back again but maybe try another dish that is more mild.

I'm so shocked as to how we were treated here. We ordered popadoms and our drinks, my husband ordered a pint. We then placed an order for a starter to share, a main course to share with naan and rice. The waiter then advised we had to have a main course each as well as a starter, but we just weren't hungry enough, we tried to explain this but he was insistent. So we decided to leave and just pay for the popadoms and drinks. When we got the bill it seemed quite high. This was because even though on the menu it states you can have a pint of Kingfisher you can only have a bottle which costs more! We asked him why he didn't tell us this at the time and he said we should have known?? We paid the bill and left advising him we were going to put a review on here. He said he didn't care as has lots of customers. This was on a Monday and were the only people in there. We won't be going back!

This place is nothing special. The food is pretty tasty but very samey if you go for the Sunday lunch buffet. But, to be fair, the staff are friendly and courteous and always attentive to your needs. The drinks are slightly limited with only one decent beer, no cider and the fizzy drinks are often flat as they clearly come from a bottle behind the bar. One thing I would say about this place, which is a personal favourite of mine, is that they have lovely cutlery! Don't expect a slap up meal from here but if you go with expectations of fairly decent food at pretty reasonable prices then it won't disappoint.

Ordered and collected a takeaway for the first time. The food was decent enough for takeaway, but nothing special. The price was rather expensive - £0.70p for a papadum and also a charge for each of the related dips and sundries. Unimpressed. However, the main talking point of the meal came about when I bit into a mouthful and came into contact with a small stone (looks like pea gravel, about the size of a small pea). A trip to the dentist is now booked and I shall be looking elsewhere for my next Indian takeaway. When the staff were confronted the next day the most they felt they could do was apologise and offer a £20 voucher, which will never be used. Perhaps AVDC Environmental Health might give the matter a touch more concern. I was lucky not to crush a tooth on impact. The food is certainly not worth risking dental health for, and could still cost a significant amount of money to remedy.

This restaurant is definitely average. The food was nice, although nothing special. The service was slow, when the retaurant was almost empty (it was a Sunday evening). We ordered several side dishes to have together, slightly concerned that we may have over ordered. We need not have worried, as the portions are decidely on the small side. There were Indian wines on the menu, so I thought it would be good to try one. I ordered the Indian Soul Tree rose wine, but it was horrible, with a sweet, chemical taste. I mentioned to the manager how horrible it was but he wasn't interested; I didn't drink it. He didn't offer a glass of a different wine, which would have been a very nice gesture, he just shrugged. If the food or the service had been wonderful, I would have considered going back another time, as the village is absolutely charming, but it was all so mediocre that I wouldn't consider it.

We ordered a takeway for four from this restaurant, to start with it was not ready on time and we had to wait. Then when we got it back the starters were lukewarm, the sheekh kebabs were bland as were the onion Bhajis, the chicken chat was tasty though. The main courses again disappointed, they were very ordinary and uninspiring, no chillies in the Jalfrezi. We had read some great reviews and heard a lot about this place but on our experience it is overhyped. We eat indian foo a few times a week and all four of us were disappointed with the food, would not recommend, pricey too for what it is.

The food I have mixed feelings on. I ordered a great main dish (in fact the waiter as I ordered said I had chosen well- it was off the specials); but then my side was borderline unpleasant (chana masala). I did think the portion sizes were good; and the food did not leave you with that over full feeling you can get sometimes. We have visited this restaurant twice now and both times I have been impressed with the food, the service and generally the feel of this restaurant. For years we have always gone to the Chadnis in Waddesdon, but have noticed a gradual decline there and the last twice it was obvious that the same base had been used for all the sauces as everything tasted the same. What a massive difference here. The food was beautifully presented and cooked with wonderful aromatic flavours and natural colours. The poppadoms and the tandoori chicken, in particular, were excellent, but I can't fault any of the dishes that I tasted on both occasions. Service was good, everything looked clean and crisp, temperature and seating in the restaurant was comfortable and appropriate background music played. There are several Indian restaurants in nearby Thame, but none of them serve food as tasty as Crendon Indian Cuisine. I have been here many times over the years and have never had anything other than good experiences. The Pathia and Passanda are outstanding! Service is also first class. My two minor gripes would be that prices are around 10-20% higher than many in the area and the dining room, whilst neat and tidy, is a little soulless. This place delivers in all important aspects though. Very good.

We booked a table for six to celebrate a friends birthday. We had never been before and was looking forward to our night out. Unfortunately it wasn't good, the food actually was lovely but the staff and service let the place down. Our waiter looked as if he'd rather be anywhere than serving us, we had to remind them about our drinks we'd ordered and then go and get our own wine menu, we were there over half an hour before our food order was taken. Once the food arrived it was well presented and very tasty but will not be going back as there are better Indian restaurants around with staff that actually make for a pleasant evening.

Been here many many times over the years, even ate here when it was a Chinese restaurant! Food is always good and we have never had a service problem.it does get busy so best to book towards weekends. Another plus it is always easy to park opposite and the shop over the road open for a late bottle of wine!

Had a take away from here on Saturday 4th January 2013. The food was good and the portions were large. We had a range of different chicken, lamb and vegetarian dishes which were generally tasty. We haven't used the restaurant before, but will return!

Food is good but in my opinion service matters more and we found it so bad last time we walked out. We'd recommend house of spice in either thame or haddenham over this unfortunately. Okay for a takeaway as food to be fair is good.

We visited this restaurant at 7.15pm tonight being a Saturday. I am struggling to think of anything positive to say about our experience. When we arrived we were quickly handed our menus. Thereafter service wa forgotton, food was nothing special especially the tandoori chicken which was clearly of poor quality. The restaurant manager blamed the poor service of a large group of travellers who were there enjoying a meal but this excuse is totally unfounded as we were there along the before they arrived so can't be blamed for the service we received. The travellers were actually very polite and it's a shame the management used them as the excuse for not being able to run a business efficiently. Overpriced and caution check your bill is accurate as they don't give a breakdown of the drinks we ordered and tried to overcharge us by£4.00. Two course meal cost £60.00 and we took over 2.5 hours due to such poor service.

How can we give a review if the restaurant we wanted to try never answered the phone? We tried it repeatedly on a Sunday, from 11 am to 12.30, no reply, and passed it in the car the day after, it was advertised as Sunday Buffet! The visit date we give below is not applicable since we did not manage to visit.

I had booked a table for four at 7-30 PM on Saturday, we arrived at that time. The table was not ready, we watched as a couple and their meal were moved from their table to a table for two, we were shown to the table that they had been forced to vacate We were seated at 7.40 The menus were given out quickly but it was not until well after 8-00 when our order was taken. It took well over half an hour to deliver the starter, and it was 9-30 when the main course was delivered to our table. My wife's chicken tikka turned out to be lamb (which she hates) and had to be changed. Upon completion of the meal we wanted more drink and even went to the bar to order it. we gave up after 15 minutes and asked for the bill instead. I had deliberately asked for DIET coke (diabetic) but had awful trouble with sugar levels when I got home. The food itself was good, but the service could only be described as atrocious, It should not take 2 and a half hours to have an indian....we shall not go there again!!!!!

I visited here for a freind's birthday recently having not eaten here in a coupke of years. The welcome was good, not great, but ok. The tabel we were sitting at was pointed out to me with a finger gesture but I was not shown to the table which was a disappointment. However, from there on the service was good, polite, helpful, no issue when one of the party was delayed. The only shame was that no-on asked us if the food was OK. The food was better than OK, it was good. I am away on business most weeks of the year and always choose to eat at Indian restaurants (see my other restaurant reviews!) This was in the top quarter which is a good achievement. However, the dishes lacked that somehting special to lift them above th rest. The flavour was good without being exceptional. The meat was very tender and had good flavour, but did not have that flavour burst on first eating that really tantalises the palate. We had a number of dishes and side dishes between us and all were good and everyone was happy. This is definitely one of the best in the area and not a chain restauarnt which is good for the area. I would happily go back.

I went for a meal here on recommendation from a colleague. I found the service to be good, friendly and efficient. But most importantly the food was better than any Indian in Aylesbury or the surrounding area. The prices were also competitive and I shall certainly be going back!

This is my 'local' indian, so have eaten there and had takeaways over a number of years. The staff are without exception cheerful and helpful. The food is of a very high standard, although you will pay more than you would in many town centre indians it is worth the price. Would highly recommend.

We have eaten here about 3 times last 2 years and its almost always been really good. The food is fresh and of a high quality. The service is usually very friendly and efficient. We also have takeaways regularly and appart from one occation when there was too much oil in our food its been great. I would rate the Crendon Indian above all the Indian restaurants in nearby Thame.

We eat here often as we live in the village. Always good food with friendly service and nice atmosphere. Very good menu with lots of unusual dishes. Always check with the waiter as to the strength of the currys as they can sometimes be a littke too mild. Excellent choice of Indian beers and a decent basic wine list. You can usually get in without booking but can get busy on Fri/Sat.Very easy to park in the market square opposite and there is an excellent Pub (The Churchill) just around the corner for a pre/post dinner drink

This is our regular restaurant for both eating in and take aways. The staff are always friendly and welcoming, the food is great with generous portions. I would recommend you book especially Friday and Saturday nights at this time of year(autumn/winter) We have never had a 'bad' meal here and its popularity in the local area supports this. The food is beautifully presented especially the foil chicken. The toilets are always clean ( not always the case with some restaurants) I really cannot find any fault with the restaurant and have no hesitation in recommending it.
