I came here last week with my friend and the breakfast was to die for. I told all I know about this place. And then today happened. Ordered food n drink ok, not a problem. It was the disgusting attitude of your waitress. When asked if we would like some sauce 2 said brown sauce, 1 said red. When brought over she brought 3 small pots of brown. When questioned about this her attitude to reply back was all 3 of you wanted brown, calling us liars more or less. Said no, if you wasn't walking away you would av heard my niece ask for red. Then when brought the red sauce she slammed it on the table. Told her that that was un called for and unacceptable. I asked to speak with the manager and he explained that she has learning difficulties. I'm sorry but your serving the public, you don't have to be rude and disrespectful to you customers like she was. Said he would give a full refund, which I did not want. It wasn't about that. It was the overall experience we got from the waitress and it wasn't a good one. The lady who took our order came over with a refund which I didn't accept as I said I didn't want one. She asked what had gone on, we explained and she said was it the black girl. By sounds of it (which is hearsay) this is not the first time it's happened. I did not want to comment when she described her as the black girl as don't want to be put down that rabbit hole of twists and turns. I did not eat my food as I was put off by the whole experience. And then a nosey KAREN came over from another table asking me to lower my voice as to which I asked politely 'please go away' numerous times. She then commented on what example am I setting to my great niece. I kept my cool and continued to ask 'please go away'. If you don't know what has happened then keep ya neb out . Simples. I'm put off coming here now as my first experience of the place was fantastic.

You won't find a better breakfast for the money they charge. Lovely freshly cooked breakfast with excellent staff. They also do catering and we can't praise them any highly. Thank you to you all.

A work event had catering from here and it was delicious. Not the normal beige food and boring sandwiches but actual nice tasty food!!. If I was in the area I would definitely eat here based on what I sampled at the event.

Take out chicken gyros wrap was actually a few pieces of chicken in 2 pieces of dry bread with a little salad. Only realised when I opened after leaving. If they had told me they had no wraps I would have ordered something else. Had a few poor meals here in the last few months.

An unassuming not for profit cafe in Wakefield one. Counter service or table service available, good menu from coffee and cake to cooked to order main meals. Not too expensive

A great cafe serving delicious food and drinks at low prices. Great value for money. Fast and friendly service. The menu has a large selection including a good selection of vegetarian and vegan options. The ingredients are locally sourced and all food is home-made.

Called one rainy afternoon last week with my teens. Lovely mixed menu with lots of choice. Really friendly waiter served us and was smiling throughout our visit. Drinks served quickly, my hot chocolate was really good. Clearly a good quality brand used. Food was superb. Sandwiches served with a dressed salad, all fresh. The prices are incredible for the food you receive. A bit out of town but worth the little wander. Definitely returning soon!

Lady working there rudely told me that I basically couldn't order anything because they were closing in an hour. What? Terrible

We asked Shaun at Create Cafe to provide a buffet at an external venue gor my husband's 60th birthday. Excellent buffet and just right for the 'do'. Shaun was great with communication, arranged a face to face visit to discuss our buffet options. All went like clockwork. Thank you so much. Epukd definitely use Create again. Thanks Shaun!

I don’t know how they do it! The food was wonderful and served very impeccable. The establishment was very clean and airy and staff friendly. What a fantastic venue.

Love this place, the food is great, good value, and perfect portions. The business is helping people get into employment which i think is absolutely fantastic. Such a great way to do business, and it's a business I would happily put money into as it's helpin9g so many people so any chance I get to come and eat here, I will be here. I wish I could come every day! Their Halloumi Salad is amazing as well as their Halloumi Grilled hot sandwich and their salt and pepper chips is to die for! Very tasty. Pic is of the halloumi salad. Staff are very friendly and will do their utmost to assist. The menu is great, and you can literally swap anything around and they encourage it!

Drove to Wakefield from goole for an afternoon tea with my husband. It was very busy and untidy it is a very modern Cafe . We got one sandwich each . one scone between the two of us and small cakes . The building is in the lidary building so you can get to it . There is disabled parking around the building, but no.normal parking near

A first-time visit to Create Café, and was very impressed. It's a bright, airy, colourful space. The menu is extensive, and good value for for money. The food is all freshly cooked to order, and tasty. The overall ethos is "Where good food and people matter". The café aims to help disadvantaged people by giving them working experience. Kudos to the co-founders/co-owners Shaun and James for this admirable venture which deserves every success.

Gorgeous food with great value for money.staff were lovely and the cafe was bright, spacious and inviting. I would recommend it to anyone old or young. I like the ethos of supporting local community and enabling people with health issues to work in a supportive environment. The cakes were exceptional.

Called for lunch today with friends, fish coujons were tasteless, and the fish was brown inside. Chips half cooked and crunchy, the place has deteriorated over the last 12 months, will never visit again, complained to the management before leaving

Called today for a quick lunch. The salmon sandwich was delicious. The service was excellent and the prices were reasonable. I will definitely be recommending to friends and family.

Nice food,kids meals are big portions

Beautiful multi-coloured light shades, great scones. Excellent place for coffee and buffet lunch with my U3A group from Ilkley. As it was pouring with rain our Civic Society tour guide talked gave us a talk about the history of Wakefield in the cafe. The cafe staff were welcoming and efficient.

This Cafe is a favourite place for Excellent food, at reasonable prices. The Salmon with dill and salad on brown breadcake is delicious, The staff are always pleasant and helpful, Portion sizes are good, and beautifully presented. I recommend the Create Cafe , which is in the same building as the Museum and Library. The building has disabled access.and also lift to the Cafe. There is parking a short walk away.

We visited here on a groupon deal for afternoon tea…instead of a selection of sandwiches we were asked to choose one from the menu. We also received a selection on mini cakes and scones which were delicious. Wonderful cafe, friendly staff, serving fresh, good quality food.

Great place for a good cup of coffee. I've also enjoyed a couple of lunches here, a snack or a meal are both excellent choices. True it does often seem like the unofficial meeting space for council workers. But it is not ever overfull, and in the week at least never seems empty.

Marvellous cocktail class for the civic society

Create Cafe is really good if you need lots of room, I visited with my son and had his big pram and all the stuff babies require haha - i didn’t feel like I took up too much space. Staff are very friendly, and there’s good baby changing facilities. The only let down is the food. I had the meat flatbread pizza, the chunks of chorizo were way too thick, it was cooking chorizo rather than normal thin sliced so impossible to bite through. The chips weren’t great either. If I return, I’d probably just go for a simple panini or something in the future.

Very spacious place. Staff great. Food was nice, had a full breakfast and you do get plenty. Fast service. They do decaf drinks. Only 2 ladies toilets one of which was out if order. I will go again and try something different to eat. Extensive menu choices. Not much parking nearby 90p for 1 hour only and 3 disabled spots (which were occupied when we arrived)

Amended review to be more constructive - Disappointed by the food, but mostly the attitude of the chef to the complaint. Some people can't accept critism. It doesn't take a Michelin star chef to know when food doesn't taste right, and we know how a frankfurter is supposed to taste. The waitress was pleasant and apologetic. 99% of the time, if a complaint is handled carefully the customer will leave happy. If the customer is told they are wrong and initially dismissed, it might end up in a bad review. I would advise that your team (mainly the chef) are trained on how to handle returns and the importance of customer service. Otherwise the venue is great and one bad experience doesn't make a bad venue. Most other reviews are positive so we must have caught them on a bad day.

Excellent lunch and service. The best bit is its a non profit helping those that might struggle in the work place. Why would you go anywhere else when in central Wakefield?

I booked afternoon tea to meet with an old friend. I was greeted by Louis before the rest of my party had arrived. He kindly seated me and got me a drink. When everyone had arrived Louis explained that hot drinks were unlimited, we could choose any sandwich from the menu on brown or white and a selection of bite-size desserts would accompany with scones. The restaurant is light and airy, the food was well presented and enjoyable. The whole experience was extremely pleasant and I would definitely go again. Thank you CREATE team for a wonderful afternoon. I would also like to add that Louis was very attentive and nothing was too much trouble.

It's a really relaxing cafe space and the coffee is really good. There's a wide range of food on offer, including options you wouldn't normally find in a typical cafe. I particularly recommend the falafel burger.

This was very expensive afternoon tea for what you got. The sandwich was two slices of bread which was stale and the crusts inedible. The filling was not how was described on the menu. The tea was a tiny teapot with no offer of a refill. The scone was also tiny and of poor quality with no butter and the cream being the canned squirty cream with no consistency. The buns were the size of a 50 pence piece and also of poor quality we left most. All of the group I was with came out disappointed and hungry I would have to say it is the worst afternoon tea I have ever had.

ALWAYS superb. Great food, great prices. Service is often by inexperienced people which means it can be a tiny bit clunky sometimes but that's part of the fun; happy to support them as they learn their trade. Well worth a visit.

Found the staff rather offhand, I had placed my order and paying by debit card. Where will you be sat, I was asked. The place was pretty full and I was on my own. I don't know, I said, I will have to find somewhere. Well we need a table number if you want your food! Quite sharply and rude. Whilst I was putting my debit card away another member of staff pushed my glass, can of pop and napkin aggressively to the side of the counter, did not speak to me and glared. All together not pleasant or relaxing. I hope the panni is good after this bad attitude.

Lovely relaxed cafe. Perfect location for families, as the city's museum and library are in the same building so we always visit when here. The food is good, homemade, healthy food and at an affordable price too. The coffee is good too.

Having looked up possible cafes for a breakfast before catching the London train from Westgate station I was lured to this place. Brilliant space; clean open and colourful. Staff were chatty and friendly and most important the full English was a corker. Whenever in Wakefield, make an effort to check it out even just for a tea or coffee, you will be pleasantly surprised

Lovely cafe light and airy and I love it's concept. Only criticism is that the breakfast ordered was very fatty and actually served in a frying pan?? Please cut down on the fat cafe create and get 5 stars!
