Craobh in Perth & Kinross

I have been several times with guests for both lunch and dinner; all friends have been delighted with their visit. It never fails to please. The menu is so varied and interesting and it makes it very difficult to make one's choice. The food and its presentation are definitely five star. It caters for all types of restrictions on diet. The prices of the dishes are 'sensible' giving excellent value. The service cannot be faulted with the staff making one feel so welcome, without being overpowering, and never ever hustling you. Although somewhat stuck in a corner of James Square, inside it is so comfortable with such a convivial atmosphere. Comfortable seating with those for back issues!! From the above, it is clearly obvious that I would have no hesitation in recommending Craobh to any residents of Crieff and surrounding areas but also visitors from further afield - well worth travelling for!

Food was beautiful didn't want it to end! My daughter tried haggis for the first time and loved it

Service was fine but not exceptional. There is a mandatory option to say yes or no to add a fixed gratuity using the card reader. Pea soup was a bit sweet but ok. No option for brown bread on the side or as a sandwich. My companion's fish was good. Not a "rush back" but not an "avoid".

Visited here for a meal during a stay in Crieff. Food was excellent, especially the Halloumi Fries and Steak and Haggis Burger! Highly recommended, and very reasonably priced!

Went here for the first time last weekend when I was up visiting my parents. I have coeliac disease so can be a struggle to find nice places to eat but this restaurant was perfect! Had a great menu with a few different options, I got the duck which was cooked perfectly, then had the creme caramel for dessert and again absolutely perfect! I don't often say that either but I appreciate good food when I find it and I will certainly be going back next time to try something else. If you live in crieff and haven't been here yet, you need to! No complaints whatsoever

Freshly back to our hotel after a meal, I would totally recommend this place, the food is 5 out of 5 and already one of my favourite places after 1 visit. So many dishes I wanted, and good portions,,,, too full for dessert but will definitely be back for that. I've only given 3 for atmosphere, that's totally not a criticism, i liked how it was quiet and relaxed but some may like louder. We visit Crieff 1 or 2 times a year for holiday and will definitely make sure we have lunch or dinner again. Update - had dinner 24/03/24 during our stay again at the Hydro and another nice meal. Went for something a bit different and ordered a selection of small plates to share which was a good idea and let us sample more. Service was good and we had a laugh with the waiter. Enjoyed our meal again and still had room (just) for dessert.

First time here and definitely will not be the last. Food great, staff great. What's not to like

A must go to if you are in Perthshire. Food is fantastic - refined tastes, great presentation and just, well just wonderful. A combination of great produce, talented cooking and inspired menu development. Every time I get the bill I wonder that such great dishes can come at that price. Keep going back...

Great place for brunch, food was fantastic

Just back to US after a few months in Scotland, and I can't stop thinking about the steak and haggis burger I had a few times at Craobh. What a luvverly place- killer cocktails, great food, and wonderful service. I'll be back!

Wow…firstly the service in here was impeccable. Neve was very friendly and attentive & helped me pick between all their lovely dishes on their menu. There was also a gentleman who, after me telling him how lovely the sauce was on the steak, went to the kitchen and brought me some more out without me even asking. The food was outstanding. The best steak I’ve ever had. We were told the chef used to be a butcher and only chooses the best cuts for his meat. You can definitely tell as the taste was incredible and the dish was really brought together with all the flavours. I honestly cannot fault this place. I wish we lived closer. Must visit in Crieff.

Everything was excellent and staff very friendly and efficient. Food was nicely presented and delicious. The three of us had different dishes but were unanimous in finding the food exceptionally tasty.

Stop here if you're looking for somewhere to eat. Delicious food, very friendly staff, dog friendly, vegetarian options, and clean bathrooms. Would definitely return.

Staff was amazing, thin tallish chap a little like Benedict cumberbatch. However the burger was not so great, dry which made it hard to eat along with the haggis. Nevertheless the kedgeree was very tasty.

Good menu for a mixed age family, but I do like my food on a hot plate and it wasn't, so fish went cold very quickly

Been here for lunch before and always really good but this evening just before Christmas it was excellent. Staff friendly and helpful but not over attentive. Food showed attention to detail in presentation as well as perfectly cooked and promptly served even though it was quite busy with families and small groups.

We were really impressed with this restaurant. The staff were really nice and helpful, plus the chef came out to help explain a few dishes for my pregnant partner. And they were great with our ‘energetic’ toddler and even offered to let her take a toy from the restaurant. Thanks

I visited as passing with work, was greated by a kind gentlemen and his female colleague, they where so nice didn't catch their names, we chatted and laughed while we waited for a latte and cappuccino, the best takeaway hazelnut latte I have ever had, really great place, I was passing with work but I have found a place to take my parents on my next day off, had a quick look at the menu also before we left and the price in this current climate was really well priced, will definitely return, thank you to you both

Just passing through and we stopped in for lunch. We were greeted warmly by our waiter and seated straight away. We just had fish & chips…but it was cooked superbly, the batter was crispy and the fish just fell apart & salad was delicious and the presentation was excellent 👌…The waiter’s were spot on 6*

Our first visit to Croabh and we will return. Both had ribeye steaks, which were delicious. They offer mini treats for dessert, if you can't manage a full helping. I had a choc/caramel tart @ £1.50. Just a couple of mouthfuls, but it hit the sweet spot required. Only negatives were the background music, which wasn't to our taste, but that's a personal choice. The building next door is in a very delapidated condition, which mars the approach to Croabh, but obviously the restaurant owner can do nothing about that. Once inside it is very pleasant.

We chose this place at random for lunch on our first ever visit to Crieff. It proved to be a most excellent choice. The food and the service were worth every one of the five stars. An absolute gem.

As I only visit my uncle once a year from Fleet England and my cousin took us here fabulous food I agree with all the comments I have found great place to eat.

Went for dinner last night with some friends after reading good reviews, and we weren't disappointed. Some good choices on the menu - duck, lamb, Venison, and some more traditional fish and chips and steaks. Would have liked to have seen more fish and sea food, but that's just my personal choice. Service was great, really friendly and helpful, it's nice when someone takes some time to talk to you. Food was all excellent, I'm not going to recommend anything in particular as it was all 1st rate. I had the monk fish and mushrooms to start, which were in a delicious cream sauce - it was different and very tasty. Others had the haggis scotch egg and salmon, equally delicious. For mains, two of us had the lamb, and two had the duck. Both were beautifully cooked with great sauces and veg. Desserts were equally good. We've lived in the area for 16 months and struggled to find good places to eat as a lot are geared up to the tourist market, and food and service are poor. It's good to be able to add another restaurant to our 'go-to' list.

A unique experience during our Scotland tour. Excellent service, great atmosphere and the best dinner we have had so far this holiday, from appetizer to dessert. And the cocktails don't have to hide either. Highly recommended.

We went with five people to have lunch yesterday (15/09/23) and had the liveliest food, which was superbly presented. The atmosphere is nice and the staff energetic, helpful & very friendly!

Popped in for Monday night dinner pre holiday. It was really busy but that's to be expected as Stuart and his team continually produce great food, especially some interesting vegetarian options. Service as good as ever and great value for money.

Best place to eat in Crieff. Great choice of menu, well priced and excellent quality. Staff all very helpful. Will be back next time I am in crieff .

Highly recommend this wonderful restaurant. The menu is excellent. Amazing vegan/vegetarian choices. Great kids menu. Brilliant friendly service. They go out of their way to accommodate peoples dietary requirements. Can’t recommend them highly enough.

Today we visited for mother's day. Despite a mixup with our booking the staff were really welcoming and gave perfect service. The food was faultless, tasty, good portions, intereting without being overly fussy. This is a great find on the square in Crieff!

It was amazing! Food is very delicious and high quality. They have food for kids and adult, such as mini burgers to full on pancake meals. It us reasonably well priced, the staff are kind and helpful. Beautiful decor and cozy scrounging. And DOGS ARE ALOUD!

We went for dinner with our 2 boys after seeing Santa. The welcome was so warm we were immediately impressed. The menu was amazing, we couldn't choose. The kids menu was brilliant too with plenty choice. We ordered the venison burger, duck breast, monkfish scampi and fish and chips. All 4 were top quality. For pudding mint choc chip ice-cream and macarons for the kids. Affagato and lemon meringue pie for the grown ups. Again all were fantastic. There is a really good quality drinks list too. I can't wait to try it again. The service is noteworthy and made an excellent meal even better.

Stopped for lunch when passing through. The staff were friendly, the food was great and the vibe was stylish but comfortable. Would definitely stop again when in the area.

last minute lunch booking for 6 people brought excellent fresh fare from a well-stocked menu - good quality at reasonable cost

Dropped in for a coffee at 4pm, staff gave us a dinner menu and made us feel very unwelcome, so we left straight away.

Stopped in for lunch last weekend and it was tremendous. Service was 1st Class and the menu matched it. Mrs B is an officianado of eggs benedict and the version with haggis & black pudding came a very close second to the best she has ever had (that was in Budapest). The place was deservedly busy and you will not be disappointed.

Fantastic quality meal & service. Scallops and Smoked Haddock Rarebit were generous tasty starters and the cote de bouef was absolutely divine and a feast for 2!

Love to share details but they turned us away at the door because, and I'm quoting here: "We already have 4 tables that are only drinking coffee, it's not worth the tax we pay unless you're going to order food". At 2:30 in the afternoon? You need to take the "coffee shop" part of your sign down. We went to The Crieff Food Co. instead where there was none of that guff. Not friendly, not recommended.

Brilliant food, brilliant staff. We had decided to have a very low key celebration for our Golden Wedding. Having booked the Craobh we hoped the reviews were right and happily they were. Thank you for a wonderful meal and good company.

Food and wine were excellent and great kids menu. Service started out amazing but felt rather forgotten about by the end.

Excellent local food with an extensive vegetarian/vegan menu. friendly and welcoming staff and very dog friendly (they even came with a water bowl for our dog). The lamb noisette and fondant potato was fantastic and the wife's mushroom gnocchi was equally delicious. 5 stars!!!

Highly recommend this gem of a place. We stumbled across it by chance this weekend and so glad we did. Food was lovely, fresh and plenty to choose from. Excellent choices for the kids as well. Cannot fault the service at all, staff were attentive, friendly and had good knowledge of the menu and were able to help with our questions. Everyone cleared their plates including the kids! Great value for money. Will definitely be back when we are in Crieff again.

Amazing food and brilliant service - both the kedgiree and beef bourguignon were the best I've tasted in years. Really deserves to be in the Michelin guide for the quality and excellent value. Really looking forward to returning again soon.

Food was excellent and serving staff polite and friendly. I asked for a ginger beer and lime, the lime cordial was finished so one of the staff ran out to get more so I could have my drink of choice. Very good choice by my husband for a place to eat on the last night of our holidays.

Really, really good food. Crieff offers many decent places to eat, but I think Craobh is exceptional. We ordered a number of small plates and were extremely pleased with the quality of what was served. So much better than anything you get at Crief Hydro, where we are staying this week. We were lucky to get a table and I am pleased they could accommodate us at short notice.

Absolutely superb restaurant! Could not speak more highly of this place! We've come each time we come to the area! Great food, decent price and good service. Would highly recommend - but book to make sure you get a table!!

I started thinking about my review whilst still in the restaurant after enjoying the Chateaubriand. Best chateaubriand I've ever had. Cooked to perfection. Seasoned to perfection. The sides of dauphinouse potatoes, salad and greens were super tasty. Service was friendly and efficient. We were told it would take longer for the meat to cook so our expectations were set. Then we move onto desserts. My OH had a deconstructed eton mess, which was delish as was my dark choc lava pot with raspberry sorbet. Only bit of feedback is that maybe the sorbet should be in another wee bowl as it was melting at an astonishing rate. Highly recommended. Will be back.

2nd time here and the quality if food is amazing. I would also say that it is good value for money. Lunch menu averages around £13.00. Staff are always friendly and welcoming. Never had to wait too long on a course from it being ordered to arriving at the table. Well worth a visit if your over that way

The food here is really excellent. As others have said, if you're staying at the Hydro, treat yourself with an evening meal out here. Steaks, top quality Scottish and plenty of options for kids. It's good value, as they're not stingy on the portions and it's all delicious. Seriously, spare yourself another evening meal at the Hydro and get down to support these guys, you'll not regret it.

Visited Craobh tonight after arriving at Murray Park Hotel and being less than impressed with their menu. Lovely relaxed atmosphere, were shown to bright table by the window. Delightful service by knowledgeable waiting staff, and food was excellent, very substantial portions, actually the largest Venison burger I have ever had. Too full to manage a dessert, but hopefully next time. Well recommended eatery.

Food was excellent as was the service, loved that you could take your dog, albeit a well-behaved dog, good menu and prices were very reasonable, we would definitely eat there again. Highly recommended, especially if you are looking for a good friendly restaurant that welcomes dogs.
