Cranberry Swamp in Scarborough

I have Coeliac Disease so we chose this place for breakfast as they had an abundance of gluten free options and was only a short walk from our hotel. I’m so glad we did as the staff were very friendly and attentive. Quick service. It was lovely to see that they were a dog friendly cafe as well (they even have a dog menu!!) which was a lovely bonus to see all the lovely dogs enjoying some breakfast as well. I had the gluten free “Eggs a la swamp” which was poached eggs with a gluten free ciabatta roll, smashed avocado and a roasted tomato sauce. My non-gf partner had Eggs Royale. It was absolutely delicious and the poached eggs were cooked to perfection! Unfortunately we aren’t local but if we are ever back in Whitby, we would definitely go back!

Lovely food that cater for many diets. Lovely Retro vibe throughout playing some banging tunes. Food was delicious on the first visit so decided to come again at a different time. Great selection of tea’s and even serve alcohol with food orders. I would recommend finding this little gem.

On a recent visit to Whitby we went to the Cranberry Swamp for breakfast, which had been recommended to us. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Friendly staff, quirky decor, and very tasty food. I chose poached eggs on toast with bacon and tomatoes. It was delicious. Perfect eggs, tasty bacon and tomatoes and lots of toast. Hubby chose a full english, which was also very generous and tasty. I had a couple of Americano coffees and hubby chose a pot of tea. Great place and would thoroughly recommend. If we'd had more time we would have visited again.

Gorgeous healthy food. Good selection on offer. Lovely staff. (Wish I had this place in my town!). Relaxed atmosphere. For the first time, I decided not to do the breakfast bit of B&B. This enabled me to venture out and enjoy a far more satisfying breakfast experience.

New owners seem to be coping well with a busy Saturday .. they have expanded the menu a bit but sensibly kept the classics like Mexican eggs etc … a well cooked veggie brecky today

Fantastic breakfast and great service I had a vegan breakfast of scrambled tofu and it was marvellous. With a super oat milk cappuccino. They were busy but really speedy and super nice. Hope I get chance to visit again.

Fantastic place! The full English breakfast was amazing and we had it two days in a row! Coffee great too 😊 The owners who haven’t had the business long are doing a fantastic job! The lack of staff due to there being a shortage in Whitby (evident in lots of restaurants) makes it difficult for them, they overcome this with a friendly happy attitude 😊 Keep doing what you are doing and we will be back very soon 😃

Nipped in for brunch, a bit disappointed to say the least. Had avacado and poached eggs, was faced with some green slime which was not nice, wife had kedgeree not edible. Coffee just drinkable, service pleasant but didn’t make up for the crap food

Cranberry Swamp was recommended to us by our host at the Airbnb. By far the best coffee I’ve experienced in the UK. The breakfast menu is great, it’s really good service and reasonably priced. I can highly recommend the porridge with maple syrup and flat white coffee.

This has to be the best breakfast in North Yorkshire. Fresh food, freshly cooked to order, and served by polite efficient, friendly staff. Wonderful, we went 4 times in 2 weeks,we will be back.
