Cranachan in Glasgow City

We’ve been sitting here for 10 minutes. No one has even offered us a menu. Very disappointing for such a lovely venue. They even cleared and reset the table next to us while typing this! Insane. Don’t bother.

We had a it is on voucher 2 mains for £20. We received a very warm welcome and were shown to our table. The service was first class and the food was amazing. Definitely return

Had a great meal here with family. Food was delicious. Service was great with special mention to the fabulous Aiden who was so attentive and courteous.

Travelled from Aberdeen to stay with a friend & had some time to myself in the city centre - bus was absolutely freezing for the entire 3 hour journey - so thought something warming at Cranachan would sort me out. I was correct - soup of the day was curried cauliflower & chickpeas - delicious, if a little too big a helping for me, but warmed me up from the inside out, which was just what was needed. Gentlemen who attended to me were charming, & had a very nice chat with one of them who, when I said the soup was quite spicy, told me the staff had been discussing that very thing! I have eaten here a few times over many years & have always enjoyed the experience.

Received a gift voucher for Afternoon Tea pre booked the venue and arrived early met by the chap who was in charge told him we were early he arranged seats at the side for us and said he would get us seated in the restaurant which he duly did. Menu was giving to us which had a varied selection waitress arrived told us what we could choose took drinks and food menu didn’t wait long for food to arrive when it did what a selection, 3 varieties of sandwiches, scones & cakes and piping hot tea (actually tea not bags) food was fantastic and staff were friendly and helpful paid the bill as we got extras and well deserved tip left. No hesitation In recommended this venue

Booked a table , placed opposite the main restaurant which was quite quiet. The order was taken swiftly and coffee was nice dark roast. Full cooked breakfast was warm and delicious, only issue was the undercooked poached eggs. Reasonable prices and I will be back. Only issue was loud music that started playing intermittently within the arcade itself.

9 of us dined at Cranachan on November 24th and we ordered from the Christmas menu. I can honestly say it was the nicest meal I've had in a very long time. Portions were great, roasting hot and so so tasty! The drinks were delicious, atmosphere was twinkly and relaxed, staff were prompt and really friendly. I can't wait to return, each of us thoroughly enjoyed it!

I waited at the stand to be seated for a while, 4 staff members walked past me and collected menus without even acknowledging me, finally someone came to show me to a table, the menu was thrown onto the table and that was it. My order was swiftly taken and food swiftly arrived. The Cullen skink was beautiful, the smoked salmon sandwich quite bland. I sat for some time before my dishes were collected, asked for the bill and yet another wait so had to ask a second time. I won't be going back simply due to the rotten service, have been treated better at fast food places.

A nice spacious cafe with good space for the toddlers who were in with their families to have their high chairs. A leisurely brunch, with plenty of choice on menu. Home baking is delicious, I highly recommend.

Went for lunch while out shopping this afternoon. Opted for the roast beef sandwich with Cullen Skink priced at a few pence under £15. My girlfriend also had the roast beef sandwich with soup of the day at just under £13. Was aghast when the food came and the sandwich was 1 slice of bread!! Never eaten out before where a sandwich was 1 slice of bread and certainly not priced at £13 and £15 coupled with an average sized bowl of soup. Also stuck through the back room despite tables being available outside. I assume because it was 2 of us. Food was good quality but portion size was ridiculous especially given the price. Will never be back again.

We visited for brunch after completing the great Scottish Run. We were naturally on a high which was quickly deflated by a less than warm welcome with the opening words being “ breakfast ends in 10 minutes “. Not to be beaten we ordered five breakfasts coffees and a bottle of fizz. One breakfast required gluten free bread. After a long wait the food finally arrived. Fizz and coffees came a further five minutes later. As soon as the food arrived we questioned if the “ gluten free bread “ was in fact on the correct plate to be assured it was. Not satisfied we asked again and it was checked with chef - “ oh maybe not ! “. This was further compounded by the fact that the solution was to remove the offending bread from the plate. After 10 minutes no new bread. After chasing it was brought and placed next to the now congealed breakfast. We suggested that the cost be removed from the bill. This was only done after consultation with “ the manager “. The young server appeared to be covering a large section and was apologetic but simply not acceptable

I wanted to try a typical Scottish dish and Cranachan was recommended to me. I had a local beer together with fried cod and chips. Food and service were perfect and I couldn't have asked for more. The people that were sitting next to me had tea with the typical assortment of savory and sweet that looked delicious. I'm sorry I didn't have the time to return for that but next time I'm in Glasgow I definitely will.

This is a lovely restaurant with an outdoor eating area situated on the top floor of the Prince's quay shopping center in Glasgow city centre. I tried the famous Scottish haggis dish here and it was fantastic. The staff are very friendly and go out of the way to ensure you have everything you need to location and setting the view all of fantastic and I fully recommend this beautiful restaurant.

My Nephew brought me a Prosecco afternoon tea for 2 we came on Wednesday afternoon we asked if we could swap 1 Prosecco for Ion Brew and they did the staff where Pleasant and taken our photo before we had tea we did enjoy afternoon tea I would recommend to come here in Cranachan cafe 😊😎.

Went today for afternoon tea with my daughter in law absolutely brilliant sandwiches were amazing everything so fresh and flavoursome .couldn't finish all cakes so they kindly gave us a boxes to take them home . Will definitely be back and highly recommend anyone to go

Cranachan’s in Prince’s Square, Glasgow prides itself on offering coffee and Scottish ‘fayre’. We have been there several times and enjoyed our experience, but our last visit, yesterday. was disappointing. The atmosphere was nice and our waitress was energetic and helpful. We are not food critics or .foodies. by any stretch; the standard which we use to rate a dining experience is quite unrefined- is it better than what we could do at home? The answer this time around was ‘No’. - the Scottish platter was entirely unrefined. It had a tiny portion of Cullen Skink which came in a ramekin closer to thimble size than bowl size! The haggis was quite dry with hard texture. The Balmoral chicken was dry. The ham was it was wrapped in was burned. The sauce was good and saved the dish. Come on- that chicken should not have passed scrutiny. The word we might use to describe the food is ‘lazy’. We were disappointed to say the least. Finally, they need to do something about the toilets which are tiny and unpleasantly hot.

Great service, food arrived quick, amazing atmosphere sitting out in the open with the glass ceiling high above. I can highly recommend the advacado and poached egg on toast. Fair prices too.

In centre of Glasgow in Princes Square. Beneath the modern atrium full sunlight is a lovely light airy location. We went for breakfast & had a very good varied menu. We had eggs Benedict, full English & poached etc. All cooked to perfection. Service was very quick & the waiters friendly & polite. Would totally recommend.

This is a true gem of great food hidden in a toursty mall shopping area. If you want real food, that's local, this is a great place. Super low price points, great service, amazing food.

Visited for high tea. Food was tasty and well presented. Pricing was fair for quality and experience. I liked the seating in the lobby area. It felt open and felt like I was seated outdoors sans the cons of outdoor seating.

This is not the first time that I visit this upscale restaurant. The food is varied and delicious. The service is fast and excellent. I tried After Noon tea and the delicious grilled halloumi sandwich. The price is excellent. Ordered soup and sandwich for lunch. Food was lovely but pricey! Soup and half a sandwich actually which is really stingy considering price!!!

I was there on Sunday 25th June for lunch with my son, we ordered soup and a sandwich, unfortunately it took 25min and a reminder from son for our food to arrive, the couple next too us came in were served and had finished before we got ours! When it finally arrived I commented to the waiter that 25mins was unacceptable his reply "you came in at the busiest time", we have been there multiple times but obvious now they have increased tables as both restaurants either side have closed and they've expanded into some of there area plenty staff but it would seem not sufficient kitchen space for the increased footfall, the food once there was delicious as usual but the experience was far from their normal!

It used to be such a treat coming here but it's not the same. The service is at best mediocre, the food is tasteless and is overcharged. The waiter at the end didn't ask how our meal was. I think the food left over probably said it all but I would have still have expected to have been asked.

This use to be one of my favourites places for lunch in town. Sadly quality of food has went down and the prices are ridiculous for what it is.

Celebration breakfast was beautiful. Scottish and filling. It did seem a little drafty/cold but wouldn't stop us going back. Great breakfast actually. And I eat all over the UK on a daily basis. One of the best.

Great haggis bonbons and Cullen skink

Located at the top of the Princess Square center, one of the most beautiful buildings in Glasgow, inside and outside, just look at the wall! Really good food, salmon, hummus, soups, chicken paté amazing, and variety of sandwiches! Service is really nice and you will have a great view from the top to the mall! Really cosy and great to spend a nice meal!

Disappointed in the sandwich which was overpriced. Asked for Tuna, cucumber and Spring onions. No cucumber or spring onions. small amount of tuna and rocket What is it with rocket seems to be in everything ! Excellent food but service is too slow. Went for afternoon tea. Menu / choice of sandwiches was good. Ordered coffee’s, which came reasonably quickly. By the time food came, I needed a refill, which 25 minutes later and having to chase up 3 members of staff, it finally arrived.. This was my second visit. I recall slow service on the first over drinks. Service really lets them down.

Afternoon tea could have been better as this was a gift voucher and didn't provide the best experience the establishment would wish their client to have. Sandwich crusts are hard at the edges so not the freshest. Staff attitude was take it or leave it.

Booked in advance based on photos and reviews. Photos are deceiving. I arrived earlier than my guests and was seated outside the restaurant to the far side of the restaurant facing an unsightly boarded up wall. When I made the booking I did not expect a food court experience. It is obviously a popular restaurant. I waited some time to be seated and dined next to people queuing. The service was slow and chaotic. The food was luke warm. Entering the main restaurant to use the facilities it did look lovely like the photos. Unfortunately my experience did not match the expectation sold on the website. Also a lack of gluten free options and toilet paper.

Came here for a spot of breakfast and they didn't disappoint... friendly service, good menu selection and reasonably priced. Went for the full Scottish breakfast and it was excellent and well presented. Coffee was also first class, in fact, had seconds. Serves lunch also but evening meals are Friday and Saturday only, however, will be paying a visit as the dinner menu is appetising.

Booked for a family get together and Birthday Celebration. First impressions, very friendly and welcoming. Service excellent Food superb choice, fresh, tasty and hot. Exemplary. Made our day for sure! Will return and recommend for sure.

Cranachan burger.. underwhelming to say the least.. asked for no cheese. Somehow that led to no bacon or pickle also. Very dry and would have benefited from tomatoes and some mayo/mustard/sauce. Value for money? Most definitely not.

Lovely place with great food. Cullen Skink was 10/10, fish and chips 9/10 but haggis tatties and needs was 2/10. For a signature Scottish dish this was very poor. Gravy!? Tasteless and mash was watery and not seasoned and needs, well I couldn't taste anything. Actual haggis was nice but overall it was a measly stacked portion of slop which didn't deserve to be served anywhere in the world. Must do better to win me back.
