Went on a Friday evening for a treat. Lovely place and very attentive service with easy parking. However the food really just missed. I ordered asparagus for starters and it arrived as 4 tiny pieces on a large quantity of cheese yogurt. Way out of balance. Bread however was very good. Then for mains I ordered fish, brixham sole which was lovely but came with a few potato cubes and bits of carrots. Overall very disappointing and not worth almost £50 a head including a shared bottle of wine. Gave 4 stars but was tempted to give 3 stars. We won’t go again.

I’ve reviewed the Crab and Lobster, a real favourite of our’s, with great enthusiasm previously but a recent lunch left me disappointed. Main courses - a Selsey crab gratin and a trout with watercress veloute - were excellent but starters were rather ordinary. Four good mussels weren’t enhanced by the addition of a small piece of pork belly; slightly undercooked red mullet with cherry tomatoes was okay but fell well short of the previous standards here and could have been improved very easily.

Fitzcanes

20/04/2018: We had a really lovely lunch here today. There was plenty to choose from for vegetarians, our dog was welcomed into the garden. The food was delicious and the toilet was very clean. It is a bit pricey but we have found the other cafes in Midhurst are too!
11/07/2018: We ate in the garden area. Good food quickly served. Good coffee. Had an ice cream to go on the way out.

The Woodmancote Pub

09/07/2018: Went here as a party of seven . We were seated in the Moroccan themed room which was spotless very nice decorated and with the weather at the moment lovely and cool . The staff were lovely, polite and attentive the food was delicious and hardly any wait at all considering they seemed quite busy . The main corse was out of this world . It was the most delicious meal out I think I’ve ever had . All of us were very happy with our meals I had the three meats and so glad I did . Honestly can fault this place for its food I’m just sad we don’t live closer as we would be here every Sunday for our lunch . Thank you and the next time we are down we will be back without a doubt .xx
22/06/2018: Once a country pub opposite the corrugated iron church in the hamlet of Woodmancote, this is now a destination dining pub which attracts customers from a wide area. We visited for dinner with a group of friends on a Wednesday evening and took advantage of the excellent steak offer which was served cheerfully by the pub staff. We immediately resolved to return to this vibrant, good value pub in the future so impressed had we been with all aspects of our evening.
