We come here regularly with our kids and dog. The place is absolutely beautiful and the kids' play park is fantastic. The only complaint is that the coffee and food shop prices are ridiculous n not justifiable. Make and take lunch with you as there are plenty of benches and picnic tables around the whole park.

Good cheap family day out here if you were to stay out of the cafe. Zoo onsite is very cheap, small but good value for money. Entry to the park itself is free snd so is the parking. The zoo has an adult £2 admission and kid £1 fee. The park is fairly well equipped to keep the kids entertained. We also went a walk to the "Falls" which never took long to reach but the decent up and down the hill is fairly steep with very oversized steps which could be dangerous for kids and very challenging for the elderly. We went to the cafe where I was £49 for 2 pizzas, 4 drinks and 3 cakes. All in all, good wee spot for a day out. Watch the road leading into it though as it is riddled with large potholes and take a picnic if you want to keep it a cheap day out.

The wee zoo is great to take the kids to visit, all be it expensive for what it is. The kids park is big with different activities for all ages. Its a very busy place so get there a wee bit earlier to get parked. The food court was also very busy, we just had coffee and a mint tea in the seated area outside, there is seating inside and also under a big tent, as well as picnic tables outtside the food court. Dog friendly so remember to pick up after your dog please. The glen is a beautiful walk with your dog and children, I would wear proper shoes or wellies if its been raining as it gets muddy in places. If your an Outlander fan well this is where they filmed part of the episode blood of my blood with Jamie and his son willie. See if you can find the fiming spots. The wee shows were there which was very busy but the kids enjoyed including a climbing frame to keep them amused. Lots to see and do for a couple of hours.

Visited today with my partner and 2 children, for £6 I was pleasantly surprised to find a wide variety of animals in the Zoo such as Monkeys, snakes, finch’s meerkats, chipmunks and prairie dogs to name a few, the kids had a great time interacting with the parrots and learning from the info on the enclosures. The garden area within the zoo is well maintained. We spent around 50 mins in the Zoo. The play park outside although is perhaps in need of some TLC, the kids a great time and no complaints from them. £6 well spent and will be visiting again in the future.

It's all right, that's all. It's a bit small for what a zoo is, but they do have an ample number of animals. I'm just weirded out with the monkey(?) that was kept with only just fake plastic plants all over inside the glass enclosure. And I'm concerned with the squirrels, they look very overfed and obese. It's a good place to go out for a few hours anyway, with a few exotic animals.

I have been to the cafe twice now and on both occasions they have messed up my order. On the first visit I placed my order and payed but it was never given a order number so I assumed they would shout out what the order was but no. After waiting a while I asked a member of staff to get a mouthful off one of the kitchen staff saying my order had been out but then checked again and of course it hadn’t! The food was alright when it did eventually come. I did give them the benefit of doubt as they were busy due to the nice weather. On second visit I didn’t receive one of the items I had ordered. Spoke to staff. After a long wait I gave up. It’s a shame as it could be a nice cafe if it wasn’t for the silly mistakes over & over again. I also overheard other customers receiving the wrong orders so it wasn’t just me.

Great park with a lovely selection of animals from around the world. The park is free to use but if you want to see the animals its £1.85 for adults, 95p for children and under 3s are free. Also, the ticket is all day so you can go in as many times as you want that day. Brilliant value for money. Theres Meerkats, guinea pigs, snakes, monkeys, tropical fish, Scottish wildcats, Otters, and many others too. The park itself is large and has lots of trails with interesting features such as waterfalls. There's a children's play park with chutes, swings, climbing apparatus and zip line with many other features for them to enjoy. There's plenty of benches and picnic tables dotted around too. This is definitely a place for families to enjoy and is somewhere my family has been going for over 20 years. Thoroughly recommend.

We decided to take a trip through to airthrill from Edinburgh yesterday and we started at calderglen Country Park. Parking wasn't the best, really busy and quite a few spaces were taken up by contractors and machinery who were there relaying some Of the road, making it hard to turn around. We did eventually get a space though. We sat and had a picnic first ( there are a few picnic tables there) And then took a stroll around the ground, down to the horseshoe waterfall. We then went to the park, really good size, good for all ages. The small zoo was 99p per child and I think £1.99 for adults. There is an indoor area with parots, snakes, meerkats, fish and very cute little monkeys. There is also a outdoor area with quite a few species of birds, some very vocal to my kids delight :) and other animals. We would definitely recommend and would like to return soon.

Arrived Sunday 19th November for dinner to be told they had no chef and weren't serving food. Another couple arrived just after us, they had booked to previous weekend too, and the same thing happened. Locals sitting drinking at tables had a good laugh at our expense. Half hearted apology from women behind the bar. Don't go, you're wasting your time, and they couldn't care less.
