Courtney's in Newry and Mourne

Thank you Pat and the team for all you did to make my husband's 80th birthday so special. The food (for 40) was excellent and arrived, at the time we agreed. Nothing was too much trouble and Pat produced a vegan dish for one of or guests that was unbelievable. The standard of the food was excellent, so tasty, fresh and displayed beautifully. Let.s support our local businesses, Courtneys is to be highly commended.

Called to price some food for my child’s 3rd birthday party. Am blown away by how easy it was to arrange. Only need a few wee trays of hot food as the nippers are all quite young. He’s even providing flask of coffee for the adults, and everything from napkins, disposable plates & cups and delivering it locally here in newry too! And on a Sunday! Recently visited Courtney's on a staff Christmas party, first class from we entered the building. Staff were extremely attentive and friendly. Food and atmosphere was amazing. Thanks especially to Stephen, will definitely return.

Called today with daughter and her boyfriend, we had a chicken curry, a fry and the turkey an ham lunch. I can honestly say it was lovely. Recently l was in a 5star restaurant had a turkey an ham dinner and it wasn't even half as good Courtney's. The two men working in Courtney's were lovely and friendly and made us feel so welcome. We will diffo be back next time we visit Newry. Thank you to the two men for there excellent service, it's nice to know the smaller places like Courtney's are thankful for you custom.

Excellent fresh food served promptly in a friendly environment. Liked the slim so much they packed up some to take back home with us. Brilliant!

Great spot for a good hearty Ulster fry when in Newry. We came here between trips to Tesco and Sainsburys on an alcohol run. Looks like a busy popular spot but we got a table without bother. The house fry up is really tasty - lovely black and white pudding and all the usual suspects you would expect in an Ulster fry - fried bread and potato farl of course. Service quick and friendly and decent enough price too (although tea/coffee not included in the price of breakfast) - under £20 for two big breakfasts and hot drinks.

Had a beautiful breakfast this morning with my sister in cortneys....staff so plesant and freindly our waitress sinead went above and beyond for us and keep us in craic....lovely we spot for grub and craic x

Another great breakfast in Courtneys Mallview, place is always busy but the staff always has time to ensure top service. Tried Courtney’s for Sunday lunch today for the first time, having eaten there quite often in the evening. Yet again, just unbelievable, food quality, service (thank you, Timmy and Paula) was outstanding. Very reasonably priced , and portions are more than adequate. Can’t wait until our next visit.

We wanted a quick bite for lunch and found Courtney's near where we parked. Meals in Ireland are so big that I wanted something simple and light, so ordered the vegetable soup and a cheese toastie. Mum died back in 2015, aged 90, so had had a happy and long life with Dad. But when the soup came looking just like hers and then tasting just like hers, I dissolved into tears (something I hadn't really ever done!) and had to pull myself together. I spoke to the cook about the recipe and the lovely, unexpected moment he had given me. This place will always be a special spot for me :)

I had the most amazing breakfast with my wife and two young children at Courtney’s Mall View cafe this week. Nothing was to much bother for the staff, the manager (Noel) made us and the children feel totally relaxed, which is hard enough to do with young children.

We all tried a starter, a couple of us shared the chicken wings. The food was excellent. The steaks done exactly to everyones taste.The staff were very attentive and made our time there most enjoyable. We will be back again.

Got the courtney fry with two members of my family on tue. Mushrooms felt rubbery like they were cooked 2 hours before hand, the white of all three of our eggs were undercooked looked like jelly, they had no black pudding left and the white pudding was something I dunno I never had cheaper processed pudding like it, I wouldn't say it was white pudding at all and the toilets in the female toilets were flooded and smelly. Not be back

Great full fry, (not greasy), as usual Pat does the best full day fry in this or any other town/city. Thankfully the staff are first rate, not like in his original cafe, who seem to think the customers are there to please them. Well done Pat.

We booked for 17 mixed family adults and children. We rang to say we would be late and they were very accomodating. We arrived and were seen to straight away, Drink orders taken,we were not rushed to order so family settled to a very warm inviting reception. Some had starters each one delicious, some had steak but other had stir fry or chicken everyone was very happy with their meal plates hot so food exactly as you would like to receive. Side orders came on time and staff very friendly and helpful. Their homemade bread was very tasty. Two had starters which were eaten wholeheartedly. We stayed on for drinks and the establishment filled up very quickly. You would need to book before hand to be sure of a place. Abit pricey for me but definately worth every penny.Will go there again maybe as a couple if not family. There is one other thing it can only be reached by stairs between 10 and 15 steps didnt count them but they are quite steep if wearing high shoes. They also have a Cafe downstairs which is also very busy. Close to shops and Canal Hotel, Bus Station.

The food seemed as if it had come from a closing down sale at the cheapest of cheap supermarkets, was thrown into an oven or a fryer and plonked on a plate. Worst food I have eaten for a long time and very poor value for money.

Love Courtneys Newry for fantastic tasty food. Highly recommend for eating in or getting food for birthdays etc. We had gorgeous food ordered for my mums 60th birthday and was ordered to come to my mums at 5.30pm. It arrived on time and piping hot ready to eat, plus was delish.

Waiter got my order wrong, when told this he said " I read your order back". Liar, Liar. On leaving I asked for a copy of the order, and got an incorrect till receipt. No harm to you Pat, we won't be back. I'll make sure and let my work colleagues, family, and friends know about this experience.

Got a take away Sunday dinner...what on earth do you guys use as gravy? Tasted like the cheapest powdered packet of OXTAIL SOUP......absolutely disgusting! The "mashed" potatoes were lumpier than school dinners and the vegetables were swimming in water. But the gravy was the worst. Horrible.

Myself and my partner visited Courtney's on the Mall yesterday and it was the worst dining experience I have had in years. On arrival we waited briefly for a table and a man then looked at us and pointed at the table for us to sit at - no verbal communication. Sat down and received no menus from the man who sat us. We got them 5 minutes later when a waitress approached us to ask had we seen a menu. She hurriedly got them and took our drink order at the same time. Tea, a Coke and 2 bottles of water. We never received the water. We ordered chicken curry and a fry with beans on the side. Also asked for no black or white pudding and were asked did we want extra bacon instead. Yes, please, we said! The food arrived. Chicken curry very badly presented. A heaped together mess with the sauce dripping off the sides of the plate. Swamped! The extra bacon from the fry wasn't given either. To add to all that, the beans were stone cold. Kept in a small lightly heated counter near the till. We asked the waitress would we be able to get them heated for 30 seconds as they were freezing and said she "oh yes sorry!" Never came back with them. No reason given nor apology had she maybe forgotten to return them. Now we are both waiters ourselves and totally understand that things can get out of pace and you can easily make mistakes. We are always extremely understanding when out dining. We know what it's like. But this took the absolute biscuit. Real basic stuff. I've given Courtney's a few chances now and have definitively made my mind up that I won't return. Sorry!

Have to say firstly when i do get a proper sandwhich from here it is lovely. However, recently i have got a few sandwiches and wraps lately and they have been very sub standard. One of the ladies has no pride in her work and actually put cheese slices on my sandwich instead of grated cheese. Also, once i asked for a chicken tikka sandwich and she put one table spoon of chicken tikka on the sandwich i actually had to ask her for more. Also she buttered the bread with about 50% coverage and absolutely no care in the world. Honestly i dont want to sound mean but she has to make sandwiches, its not that hard. Also got a wrap lately and it was just thrown together, didnt even ask if i wanted it heated either. I hope you guys can sort this out as i dont want to have to avoid courtneys because i feel my sandwich wont be made properly. Thanks

I've been in twice while visiting Newry. First time was for a quick bite to eat with a mini fry before I got the bus to Belfast. It was just right. Next time I was looking a few scones to take to a friend and I wasn't disappointed. They were perfect and I was well supplied with butter and jam. I'll certainly be back when I'm in Newry and have enough time to call.

place is great for food and very reasonable. salad food is always fresh. seem to get a good portion everytime I go. it's always busy and sometimes need to wait on a seat but worth it. staff are great!

Called in just before 2:30 and we were given menus and told to take a seat. A few minutes later another couple came in and were seated. A few minutes after that a family came in, followed closely by a group of girls. A few minutes later a group of young men came in and were seated. Each group that came in after us had their order taken, while we were ignored. We were in a conspicuous place with our menus closed in front of us and every staff member walked past us to attend to the other tables. At 2.50, when the first of those who came in after us were served their food while we were STILL waiting to order, we made the decision to leave. We stood up to go and a member of staff approached and said 'have you ordered yet?' I said 'no and we've been waiting too long and have decided to leave' and she gave a very insincere 'sorry about that' and walked away. I will not be returning to this establishment.
