Stopped by for a (very) late lunch at 3.15pm after walking the West Highland Way from Crianlarich. Very glad to find they were still serving food. Excellent quiche with fresh side salads, and tasty home-baked cakes. Beautiful location, we sat outside and enjoyed the company of the inquisitive chickens. Really highly recommended, definitely worth the 3-minute detour off the West Highland Way (& it’s very well signposted for walkers).

What a marvellous find this was. We had just come off Beinn Challuim after a four hour walk, and the cosy Artisan Cafe provided the most perfect end to the day. Fresh tea in bone China and home baking of delicious quality. Add in the delightful, friendly staff, and we couldn’t have been more content ❤️

Having researched this cafe as being dog friendly we decided to visit for lunch. We were very disappointed to see on arrival,on their outside chalk board - no dogs allowed. We were going to leave and actually got back into our car, but then changed our mind and thought we would sit outside. However the tables and grass were wet and it was too cold, so reluctantly we had to choose to leave our dog in the car, which is not something we like to do and if it had been sunny we wouldn't have been able to.Inside there was a good choice of items. We had soup, paninis, scone. Everything was lovely and we really enjoyed our lunch. The only down thing was it was not dog friendly and given the area where alot of people are on holiday, for "staycations" with their pet I think they could be more accommodating.

Close to main road between Crianlarich and Tyndrum. Superb place in old church with lots of tables well spaced out...fantastic stafff who are very friendly and efficient. Superb menu for breakfast , brunch or lunch or just coffee and cake( huge pot of filter coffee)...gluten free choices no problem. have driven past this place literally hundreds of times on the way north to the big mountains. We will not be driving past again... a brilliant hidden gem. Well not so hidden as its only a few metres from the main road.

Away from touristy Tyndrum, this chapel cafe makes a lovely place for a pit stop. But we were frustrated by a long delay... just to pay for two coffees. If any of the staff ever read these reviews, how about considering the option of letting customers pay upfront when ordering, especially if it's something simple like a couple of hot drinks?Even though we just wanted to pay and go after finishing our coffees, I was unlucky to get caught in a queue which included people waiting to be seated, someone asking for complicated directions to avoid a road accident and someone ordering for a group who couldn't decide what takeaway sandwiches they wanted. When I finally got to the till, the card machine wouldn't work. So to pay with cash I had to go out to the car to get the right coins... and then rejoin the queue all over again!Another point worth noting is that the coffee served here is exceptionally strong, with two shots the default dose. Consider asking for a single shot if you're on a long journey and don't have a strong bladder!

Stopped here for lunch after walking in the national park. Had the most incredible food, but my order was wrong so I told the waiter and he took it away and gave me the correct order. My boyfriend was a bit picky about the juice as they said “fresh” juice on the menu but it was from concentrate and he doesn’t like juice from concentrate so he asked to see the bottle of juice before he ordered a drink. I ordered a large juice but received a small one, didn’t say anything about this since they already had to fix my food order and clearly weren’t happy about having to do so, as my plate was basically thrown down in front of me by the waitress onto a table that could barely stay up straight and almost caused our drinks to spill. Went to pay and checked that a small juice was charged rather than a large one, the man at the till didn’t even give me or offer me a copy of my receipt. He took my payment and promptly said “bye bye now!” And turned away in the rudest manner possible, leaving me to add up my items from the menu so make sure it matched what I’d paid. It did, luckily, and I left. Stunning venue, stunning food, just keep your order simple and try not to have any issues otherwise you’ll leave feeling totally sad and deflated like I did and wondering what you did wrong for the next few hours.

We stumbled across this beautiful cafe in the middle of my birthday trip. We had not eaten breakfast and were looking for both food and cake following an exploration of Falls of Falloch.Excellent covid measures in place and plenty of signage and products, even in the bathrooms, to keep you feeling safe. The venue itself is unique, stunning and kept it's original charm whilst still being clearly well maintained. There were chickens roaming outside and lots of lovely little vintage details in the decor. The little shop provided locally sourced edibles and crafts. We bought some jam and my girlfriend bought me a beautiful little pin for my birthday. The food.... Oh my. The only problem here was I wanted a bit of every cake! We both opted for coffee and walnut cake and we're not disappointed. It just looked too perfect to miss and it really was! Excellent balance of sweetness and frosting to compliment the perfect sponge filled with delicious walnut pieces. Highly recommend. The slices were a good size too!We both had toasties which we devoured alongside the yummy kettle style crisps. My only downside is that this place is too far to become my regular haunt!

Most places on the A82 are very busy to get into particularly weekends or bank holidays especially when you can see all the cars parked on the side of the main road. We were lucky to find the Artisan Cafe. We needed to find a stop which would be suitable for dog owners and a quick bite to eat enroute. There are seating outside for ourselves and our dog. All staff has masks on. They catered for my gluten and dairy intolerances and served a nice panini / toasties with a good Scottish blend cup of tea. This may become our regular stir enroute from the mainland to the islands.

The Artisan Cafe south of Tyndrum is a beautiful old church, small and characterful, and the greeting there is second to none. It has such a nice atmosphere and its customers receive the warmth of welcome typically found on entering a family home. Drinks and home baking are fresh and so delicious and the varied menu should easily satisfy any dietary needs and heartier appetites from breakfast through to lunch and beyond. There’s also a nice selection of quality crafts, cards and gifts for easy browsing (and very tempting indeed!). A quick note of caution for drivers of camper vans and motor homes - the cafe is at the end of a short section of narrow single track road with, for larger vehicles, a very tight reverse into its turning space. For me, the quiet and cosy Artisan Cafe with its warm, friendly and attentive staff, and inaccessible to tourist coaches, is a delightful alternative to the busy commercialism of nearby Tyndrum. I travel through the area regularly and now I’ve discovered it wouldn’t stop anywhere else!

To be fair, they do say this themselves, so I won’t comment on the decor, leaning as it does towards a shabby-chic aesthetic but without any real originality. I am more concerned with the rather pedestrian menu. The usual selection of toasties and panini, quiche and pate. We stopped for lunch, but, untempted, we settled for scones and coffee. Delicious scones, it must be said, with just enough butter and jam- a little more would have been welcome. The “crafts” on display were the same-old, same-old that you can buy anywhere. It is November, so not exactly the height of the tourist season (although three tables were busy with lunches), there’s plenty of time for this place to get its act together before next spring: it’s heading in the right direction, but has a way to go to make it a “must” stop.

On our way to the annual Royal National Mòd in Dunoon this year, the ever-helpful Google maps suggested an alternative route to avoid the A83 where there had been a landslide. We were in need of a break on our drive down beautiful landscapes, but unfamiliar roads. The signs were low on the left hand side of the road, but in plenty time to make sure we could pull in to the converted church. I took a photo which looks exactly like the view someone else has taken, so it is clearly a popular choice of venue with a very relaxed atmosphere. We only had coffee and a fine piece and it was lovely. There was a varied and very healthy menu. There were also lovely wee craft things and pictures created by local artists out of felt, or embroidery, so we could easily have spent more time there than we did. It is also quite accessible as the door leads straight in to the cafe. Staff were very friendly and helpful - I was beginning to wonder if we were on the best road. They assured us we were! There are three steps leading in, which might be an issue for those in wheelchairs or mobility issues, but they may be able to work around this. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We were only here for coffee and cake, but these were of incredible standard. I will think about that scone for some time!

Cold damp day, brightened up by a visit to this hidden treasure. Warm welcome, great food, luxurious hot chocolate drinks and a lovely church building that has been converted into a fantastic cafe. Well worth a visit. Scenery outside is great too.

We enjoyed a perfect cup of coffee, scone and walnut cake here. The jam was obviously home made and the decaf cafetière very welcome. We would definitely recommend stopping.

Found the Artisan Cafe almost by accident. What a wee hidden gem. Staff were friendly and helpful. The coffee was terrific and if i try and describe how much i enjoyed my fruit scone we will be here all day, and i'll run out of adjectives. Can't recommend this enough. On another note: I don't understand the poor reviews here. Fancy the owner not wanting some hillwalkers to park in their limited parking facilities and use a space for 3 maybe 4 hours. Tut tut. Oh hang on......someone is being inconsiderate and selfish. Shhh, i'll give you a clue....it's not the owner ;-)

We were staying with a friend who took us here for morning coffee and what a great place to visit. The staff were lovely, the cakes delicious and all in all a friendly, quirky cafe. My husband was very pleased I had no room in my suitcase to take home any of the crafts on display. We had a great time here.

We stopped hear for a snack on our way up to Oban. Roughly half way from Glasgow so ideal. There was a nice selection of soups, sandwiches, toastie e.t.c I had the onion soup which was delicious. The woman who served us couldn't have been nicer, she showed a genuine interest in what we were doing. We came out really happy that we had visited. Next time we are passing we will definitely stop off hear again. Highly recommended.

Me and my family went there by chance, thinking it would be a "tyipical" road restaurant. Instead we found a lovely familiar restaurant (inside an ancient remodeled church!). The staff is super nice, the food is delicious and cheap. They have a lot of vegetarian options. Besides, the place is decorated really well and it provides a cozy atmosphere. I would totally recommend!

I spent a day up in Fort William, Glencoe etc taking landscape pictures April 2017. On the way home it was dark but saw the lights on this beautiful wee building from the roadside and went to investigate. Glad I did as I got some cracking night sky shots from the grounds on a very clear night and some lovely images of the cafe/church. Haven't been back up that way during the day to sample the cafe's delights but will definitely be paying them a visit when i do

What an oasis ! In the middle of the most wild and gorgeous mountain scenery along the Glencoe road (A82) here is a beautifully renovated small church that has become a lovely warm cafe. Espresso was excellent; the highlight was the fabulous baked goods - coffee/walnut cake and carrot cake was out of this world! Worth a detour from far away even if Glencoe itself wasn’t breathtaking enough!!!

We always make a point of stopping here on the way south or north. There is always a great welcome and everything we’ve ever eaten has been wonderful from soups to salads to cakes. The veg quiche last time tasted great. There is a good range of crafts, many of them by local crafters - I get to admire my beautiful felted border terrier as I watch tv! I recommend this place to all my friends travelling up or down.

My friend and I rented a car for the day a drove up from Edinburgh and found this lovely, perfectly situated cafe. Converted from an old church, it has every bit of a homey feel as if you were going there every day for years. The staff was hospitable and kind. We had tea, a delicious panini sandwich and a Victoria sponge cake that even Mary Berry would be jealous of, all while taking in the view of some beautiful highlands. Dianne, the owner, should be proud of the charming cafe she has established.

What a treat - almost the best coffee on the trip so far and the home cooking was a treat. Loved the well curated local arts and crafts and bought some lovely pieces to take home to NZ.

Surprise because on a terribly wet Saturday, we were nearly past the sign for the cafe before we realised it. Surprise because of the location - out in the wilds (seemingly) - and surprise when we saw it was a church building. However, on a miserable day it was a wonderful welcoming haven with fabulous coffee. Smashing raft shop as well.

We travel on a fortnightly basis and always call for lunch and coffee. These guys are the friendliest and most customer focused guys I know. We feel like they have become our family and we time our journeys so we can call when they are open. Food Great, coffee great, and we always recommend to friends who are never disappointed. The silly review on here is absolute rubbish. It was someone trying to take advantage of their hospitality and good nature.

Foods fine, but the owner has a thing about walkers who park within a mile of his cafe, we went for a walk and he asked use to park a mile away and come back when we had finished our walk!!! It’s an old section of highway he (the owner)doesn’t own, he said he only wanted tourists, we explained we were tourists just the sort who liked to walk in the hills first and he was not amused said we were the sort of tourist who effected his profit by taking up parking places. As I say the foods fine but not as good as the real food cafe just 1.5 miles away in tyndrum. So I would recommend any hill walker going else were until this attitude changes, spoke to some others who had a similar experiences a couple of weeks ago.
