Cote Brasserie - Woking in Woking

After receiving 3 out of 4 starters and waiting at least 10 mins for the fourth starter to arrive, (which we had to ask for) we then had to wait around 45 mins for our main courses to arrive. When they came (again after asking nicely how much longer we would have to wait) the waitress was off hand when she put the wrong dish in front of one of our group, suggesting her mistake was our fault. That being said, most of the staff were pleasant. The food was ok, much as you’d expect from a chain but I’m not sure I’d recommend Woking Cote to friends.

As a veggie and vegan it's terrible. Over priced and dull. Not at all French. Service was sloweewwwee and they forgot my drinks and spent the whole time sucking up to a table who had cold mussels. Blah

Honestly quite disappointed with the service ! We have been in Côté before and had a good experience. The portion for the breakfast were very minimal and we waited almost 20min for French toast which did not look like the picture at all! Very misleading pictures on the websites regarding that!

The wide breakfast menu is very attractive .We enjoyed the quality dishes , with generous portions. Service was friendly but a trifle slow. A comfortable, not inexpensive, restaurant. Recommendable.

We came for my Mother’s Day treat and the restaurant certainly didn’t disappoint. We were short of time and only had an hour as we were going to a show at the theatre at 3pm. We told the waiter Bishal and he was on the case. Took food order and then came back for drinks order so that the kitchen could start on the food. Our other waiter was Luke and he was also very attentive without being over the top. We had the meat sharing platter at £25/head and it was amazing. Great service and food. Will defo return

Cote is a wonderful addition to Woking. The food and service were exceptional. Their welcoming atmosphere and delicious food were perfect for a family Sunday lunch. Thank you for making Mother’s Day so special!

Delicious fish pie in a lovely, warm setting, a lovely friendly welcome especially from Angus who looked after us during our visit. We will definitely be back.

We ordered the pork belly and a chicken dish. The chicken dish had loads of meat but the veg was a bit lacklustre and overall the sauce had little flavour. The potatoes which came with the pork were good but the pork belly had almost no meat on it. The pudding portions were also tiny despite costing close to £8 each. The wine was also so so. Pleasant staff but otherwise underwhelming.

Delicious breakfast. Lots of options, even for the children. Staff very friendly. We come regularly and we love it. We are loving the new menu as well.

How did an amazing taste of French cuisine on Valentine’s Day. It was easy to book and easy to find in the High Street of Woking Central. Very close to the train station. Inside the restaurant the workers were very proactive in coming back to check on us and we had our meal served quickly and hot. We enjoyed the three course meal, consisting of a starter a main and the desert all three of which were perfect. Atmosphere in the store was perfect as well. 10 out of 10 experience.

Met by Gabriela who had only just arrived herself but bothered to secure our comfort and arrangements over herself! Brilliant example of subtle customer service and consideration that goes beyond training and most service staff! Thanks so much for an enjoyable experience!

French based food well presented

Very disappointing valentines meal. My girlfriend and I walk past this place a lot and thought we’d give it a go for valentines. Opted for the ‘sharer steak’ which was once of the gristliest bits of meat I’ve ever eaten. The food came out almost instantly which, as much as I appreciate prompt service, the spend at which this arrived was a little concerning. The sides were okay, but portion sizes were minimal, I counted 18 chips. At close to £100 for two people we expected a whole lot more coming from the quality of what we received. You can eat in some of Londons better steak restaurants for this price point and leave a whole lot more satisfied, at least I got a good jaw workout from the steak! With so many other good places to eat locally, at much more reasonable price points, I can’t imagine we’ll ever go here again.

I enjoyed cote i liked what they have to offer on the gluten free menu it was a bit noisy the atmosphere as there were quite a few people maybe next time when its not so busy have a quiet table otherwise it was good. Good choice of food

I visited the restaurant on Monday the 5th of February 2024 with a friend. We were really excited as with the exception of their breakfast, their mussels and their calamari their food has always been great as well as their service however on Monday night (with the exception of their service) the food was atrocious. I ordered the beef bourghignon and it was as if someone had stored it in the fridge in the same plate a few days before. It was covered in a light white patina and it was room temperature. Absolutely horrible. My friend had the same experience with his food which I don't remember exactly what it's was but had a lot of lentils as a side. We both sworn that will never set foot there again. To add insult to injury I have been sick all night. Never EVER again.

Booked online, sat quickly at table, drinks served very quickly. Food order taken, food took slightly longer but was so tasty! Drinks were good too, and dessert... wow! Fillet steak = excellent and chocolate fondant = incredible!

Delicious birthday meal at Cote today with family. Service and food was lovely. We even enjoyed some cool live music!

A pleasant restaurant with a good menu. However, the waiting staff need training in serving etiquette. Having the server reaching over the table with a plate of hot food is not a pleasant experience.

Food was very good; service was quick and staff efficient and friendly, as we have found with all COTEs. It was possibly the quickest service of any COTE we've been to, BUT it was also the noisiest, which spoiled the atmosphere - there was no way we could have a proper conversation. I think the staff had even kept the background drum-music going, which was totally unnecessary. Next time we'll go somewhere else for our pre/post theatre meal.

The pre theatre meals we had were outstanding: pork belly and beef bourginon. The food was very high quality and tasted as if eveything had been prepared in a proper kitchen by experienced chefs. Cote far exceeds it's chain competitors and offers good value for money. And staff and service was particularly good.

We come here fairly regularly for either breakfast or supper. We have never been disappointed. The staff are always friendly and keen to ensure all is well with our order. Menu is varied and the food tasty. The restaurant itself is always smart with a pleasant ambiance. We will continue to frequent this restaurant.

Third visit and not so good. Certain house dishes were not on the menu that day. Food was OK. Service very slow. Just general standards of food and service were not as good. The ladies loos are always not up to scratch or cleanliness. No soap. Not sure I will go back.

We went for an early dinner at 4:30pm due to having just had a wonderful time at Woking panto for a Christmas treat with our 2 year old and her grandparents. We ordered some garlic bread to share for a starter and our mains all at the same time. My daughter’s meal arrived with the garlic bread even though we had requested it with the mains but that wasn’t a huge issue until 1 hour and 15 minutes later when there was still no sign of our mains arriving. My husband asked where the food was and the waiter made no apology but blamed his colleague for lack of communication as he had ‘just taken over’ our table - not our problem. Another long while later, we managed to catch the ‘acting manager’ for the evening to ask him where our food was. Again, we received absolutely no apology but were again told it was due to a colleague’s error and also because we ordered starters which delayed the main courses. I am not sure a bit of garlic bread between 4 people warrants over an hour wait for main meals. We’d finished all of our drinks and no one had asked if we wanted any more while we waited. All in all we were at the restaurant for almost 2 hours with no food in sight watching all of the tables fill up around us receiving their meals. When we decided enough was enough, we told the waiter to forget our order as we were tired of waiting, but still, unbelievably, not a single person in the restaurant apologised or even acknowledged that we were leaving. My husband approached the ‘acting manager’ on our way out to tell him we were going, and he had absolutely nothing to say to us. I have never witnessed such appalling service (or lack of) and it was so disappointing that we had an experience like this on what was supposed to be a festive family day out.

Okay, I hate having to eat here but it seems to be the only place in Woking you can get a proper sit down something to eat. Service a bit average but its okay. Atmos? Needs a bit but hey ... It's a franchise. Food? Well I'm just a bit surprised just how good this steak is, thanks Cote.

We visited on Wed 6th December and the whole dining experience was 5 star. Special thanks to Angus who remembered us from 3 months ago and created our favourite cocktail for us and was really engaging. Also, special thanks to Gabby who provided excellent service for our occasion and was very professional, warm and friendly. Compliments to Chef and the kitchen team also for a delicious meal. Thank you, Cote, Woking 🙂

Booked on line- although hadn’t received a confirmation message but this didn’t hinder at all, the team gave a very warm welcome - one of our party had an allergy - this was outstanding approach the team ran through the menu item safe to eat avoiding the specific allergen- quick ordering g meals delivered (the allergen meal clearly identified with cocktail flags) the meal itself wow delicious and hot and I mean hot temperatures!! Very efficient service with a professional approach we received from Team member Angus’.

A really lovely meal, shame our table was near the door, people were queuing to come in and kept the door open, letting the cold come in on a cold autumn evening

We had our favourite dinner there, on the Autumn menu Crab starter and Sea Bass for me. Crab and Confit Pork Belly for Richard.

This restaurant exceeded my expectations! The duck leg I ordered was cooked to perfection, and the crème brûlée was absolutely delightful. What's even better is that the prices were reasonable, the location was convenient, and the service was top-notch. I'll definitely be coming back for more!

Cold food, hard boiled poached eggs. Generally a big disapointment. Requested no toast on the brunch but nothing else offered as a replacement.

Had the loveliest evening here tonight, the service from Rava and Ricardo was excellent, they really went the extra mile to make us feel special. The food was absolutely delicious, all around very well worth a visit! 💜

Great offers, tasty and varied menu catering for many different needs and the wait team were excellent.

We arrived at 12.30, on time for our booked table. We ordered quite quickly but waited for an hour for our meal, with no apology or explanation from the server. As we had a booking at the theatre, with the matinee starting at 2.30, the meal was rushed & not a relaxing experience with friends. This has put me off coming here again.

3 of us all had starters and a main meal of different steaks. Food very good and service was also very good.

Popped in on the off chance for a table for 4 on a busy Saturday evening. The restaurant was busy, good atmosphere. Greeted immediately and willingly provided a table for 60 mins hence. Happy with this and returned to be warmly greeted and sat with restaurant slightly less busy, albeit with vibrant atmosphere. Our party of 4 thoroughly enjoyed lamb rump, tuna necoise, tomato Tarte and a burger for a quick supper. Food was excellent, service spot on and whole thing reasonably priced. Good evening thank you.

Not made to feel very welcome when we didn't have a reservation, although there seemed to be plenty of empty tables. Lamb rump (£20) came rare, despite asking for medium/well done. It was pre-carved so not easy to rectify so decided to eat what I could. Waiter offered to remove my drink charge which was £10 off my bill which I thought was fair. One chipped glass. Another glass with lipstick on. Service slow. Eaten here many times, this was my worst experience.

I’ve always liked Cote but was disappointed in the Woking branch Sat 23/9/23. I had a birthday cake for my friend which they forgot about which meant it was no longer a surprise and when I challenged them about my ‘pink’ chicken they told me it was a vein and that they buy the best quality chicken. I don’t expect them to argue with me but either cook it a little longer or replace it. Wouldn’t return to that restaurant sadly due to the attitude of the staff.

Had a great meal. Food was good quality (fillet steak cooked perfectly). Special mention to a member of staff, Pompeii (I hope I’ve spelt his name correctly). Whilst he mentioned that he was in training, it’s clear that he is already extremely capable of offering great hospitality. Overall, a really good visit. We visit Côte from time to time and never come away disappointed.

Well, is 4.45pm on a Friday the chef's quiet (?lazy) time. Our meals here have always been good in the past, but we've been here at busier times. Today the minute steak was a bit chewy and didn't have the garlic butter in it. When we asked for it, it was too late for it to melt nicely over the steak. The plum clafoutis was in a hot dish but it was cold, and the plum sauce was also cold. What's the point of a hot dish if the contents are cold? And, in a restaurant serving French style food, there was no Dijon mustard!! Come on Cote, please try a bit more.

Good food, good service and it's Cote so you know what you are getting. But it does need to be busy to have an atmosphere, loud french music doesn't't make up for it if it's only got a few diners. Don't choose a seat near the entrance door, they keep it open.

Lovely food. The staff were very polite and helpful. Could do with some draft beer options, but that's only my opinion. Otherwise, it was a great evening for us, and we will definitely be coming back soon.

Lack of drinking options for non alcohol drinker. Wanted sparkling water but didn't have any. 2nd time visiting over 2 months. No sparkling then and non now. Just poor! I had still water but really impacted my enjoyment and obviously a policy not to provide. Ask if they could go over the walkway, 20 yards to a shop, and buy it or I could, told not allowed. Non alcohol beer has a horrible taste, very metallic taste larger.

Joined a colleague for lunch, chose the chicken salad, what could possibly go wrong? Seriously the worst salad I think I have had, dry chicken and nothing else that was much better. Dreadful food, never again

Pre theatre dinner, Cote was the one restaurant in the area that appealed to us!

Went to Woking Cote for first time before a theatre event with a friend having previously loved the food and ambience in ETON where it was relaxing and well cooked ....NOT the case at all in Woking..if I had been alone I would have sent my dinner back but there also wasn't enough time and ai know my friend would have done the same as her meal was a disappointment too. First of all I got there before my friend before 6pm to order early but we were still asking for our one course over half an hour later. She ordered a main salad and got a flimsy flat bed of something green with 3 pieces of chicken. It looked very unappetising and pathetic for nearly £15. It really was not fit for a main course and it looked pathetically scant and not full of interesting ingredients. The manager's excuse was it is only a salad so they are smaller!! I ordered a fish pie. I expected chunky pieces of fish, instead I had asmall disintegrated pieces of fish in a very watery sauce and worst of all the entire pie was inundated in dill, so much dill that it was all I could see and taste. Mouthfuls of dill in a watery sauce. It didn't come with any vegetables either. I wasted nearly £20 on my watery dill fish pie and had to buy vegetables on the side. The food took too long to come so we were eating in little time and we both felt robbed. I had seen a newsletter sign up offer giving a glass of Cremant with each main meal and when I arrived to ask for it the manager tried to fight his way out of not giving us the drink saying I should have booked online which I wasn't aware as it did not say in the offer that you could not book by phone whatsoever and in any case that is just bad form. I told him I had to phone in order to have seating suitable for my disability. On top of all that it was a completely unrelaxing place - very loud music, not the gentle ambience of Cote brasserie eton in the past.. I asked them to turn the noise right down and that nearly became an argument too as the manager didn't want to oblige. I had to tell him I can't talk to my friend with that noise and I can't tolerate it because of my disability. I had to ask him repeatedly even after he said he would. They also didn't bring a jug or bottle of water when I ordered it..I feel totally ripped off and had a horrible time there eating terrible food and was also disappointed for my friend who had a inadequate meal also. I hope Cote is reading this and offers both of us our money back .I have not had a meal out in ages or seen my friend in ages. What a let down feeling robbed. The restaurant and meal did not meet satisfactory requirements at all and the whole brand has lost its entire classiness and ambience. I won't be going there again.

We came here for a pre theatre dinner and all was great. Good food, great service and nicely chilled wine. The waiter, Luke was charming, friendly, attentive and a real credit to Cote. He deserves much praise. I should mention that the cheeseboard is lovely, BUT, a pasteurised bland Camembert was a real let down for a French restaurant, when the truffle Brie was outstanding. However, a lovely experience. Many thanks

Set menu good value. Would have preferred more bread with chicken liver pate to be able to finish the pate and chutney. Good service until it got busier then a small wait but not a problem.

Four of us had a dinner at Cote Woking before going to watch Titantic The Musical at Woking Theatre. The service was friendly but delivery of the meals took so long we nearly missed the start of the show. Two of had Mussels , the third The Duck Confit Bigarde all of which were very nice. The fourth had a Sirloin Steak which was very poor quality and the diner left half of it on her plate which was disappointing

We met friends before going to see a show at Woking theatre. We had decided to have an early evening meal beforehand so as Cote Woking was literally on the doorstep we walked in without booking which was no problem. We thought we had allowed plenty of time before the show started but we ended up rushing and not having a desert as the service was very slow. I do not think the restaurant is geared up for diners who are going to a show afterwards. Also two of us had steaks which were expensive poor quality and tough. All round a disappointed

We had dinner at Cote in Woking before going to the theatre nearby where we had booked tickets for a show. One of us ordered Sirloin Steak and the other the Fish stew. The later was delicious but the steak was atrocious. Not cooked as ordered and very fatty it was probably the end cut. We were on a time constraint as we had to get to the theatre to see the show therefore there was no point or time to lodge an official complaint. We paid the bill the server could see how much of the steak was not eaten. We did mention this fact and the answer was Sorry. At this stage we had no alternative but to get up and leave. We have dined at Various Cote Restaurants in the past and have always been happy. It was a terrible experience and complete waste of money. It has put us off returning to Cote again and certainly will avoid the Woking one

You know what you get with Cote. Reasonable food at reasonable prices. The food was rasty and well cooked at the servicecwas fine. Good for a group evening out.

Decent place for a Sunday morning brunch with friends. Menu a bit pricey though and lacking in imagination.

Been a fan of Cote for years, consistently good with better food and drink offerings than most chains. The Woking restaurant is a newer branch and we’ve visited many times, they deserve a good review for always being great. Elaine who looked after us last night and has previously shares the relaxed friendly approach all the staff seem to have which leads to a great evening meal. Keep up the good work

Went for a lunch and there were six of us, so a large bill. However, I had the seabass and it certainly was not worth the money. 4 new potatoes cut in quarters and a quarter of a courgette cut into cubes with a flimsy peace of fish on top (nicely cooked). My husband and daughter had the minute steak (it was her birthday and celebrating finishing university) which was practically see through. Our friend asked for boiled potatoes instead of chips with his chicken and he got dauphinois. For pudding my daughter had the sorbet and was told it was two scoops but you couldn't mix the flavours. But the staff were great and atmosphere too, just too much money for what you get. Sorry to say, won't be going back.

Great service, perfect atmosphere and tasty food

I had an lovely lunch time with my hyper 2-year-old daughter. You know how it is when you bring a toddler to eat out - it can get nerve-wracking. But the staff here took very good care of us. Big shout-out to Erika for treating us like family. My lamb rump with ratatouille was perfectly cooked. My daughter also enjoyed her calamari and haddock fingers which kept her from jumping around quite awhile. I'm so relax that I had 2 cocktails and another glass of red wine. Will definitely come back with my daughter again.

Great staff and good food. Never realised they did breakfast before and very reasonably priced.

I found this place to be the best of two: aroma and quietness. The smell of truffle oil and butter appealed to me, while there was only a few number of people chatting outside in the early afternoon. If you are a patron of early dinner, this is the place. Other than that, the steak and fries were so wonderful, I kind of forgot how to speak, really.

Great restaurant, easy to find and nearby the town and for our visit the Theatre. A lovely warm welcome and the service throughout the meal was great and the staff very knowledgeable of the drinks and the food. The food was delicious from the starter through to the desert, Will definitely come back again.
