Good service very welcoming staff and excellent food better than The Ivy Interestingly Guildford is much better than Godalming Cotes

This was my first visit to Cote Brassiere and I was very impressed. My husband and I were visiting a friend who pre-booked a table for us.The service was very quick and the waiter very pleasant, professional and friendly.The menu offered a variety of choices and the prices fairly reasonable.We were not rushed, which was good. It was a little noisy but that was probably because it was a Saturday and very busy.Would certainly visit again and recommend.

My parents, myself and my teenage daughter have visited this branch of Cote on a number of occasions over the years. Not so much in the past 14 months... anyhow the food & customer service is excellent which is why we return! Highly recommended but always book ahead.

Yet again this restaurant surpasses expectation. Unobtrusive covid policy, great food and wonderful service. Still my favourite Guildford restaurant ever.

This was our first visit to this restaurant and it was excellent.Lovely atmosphere and outstanding meals. Our waitress Jenny was fantastic, a real asset, bubbly, personable and enthusiastic.Our main courses were outstanding. It is a shame that there was a bit of a wait on dessert and the creme brulee was bitter as the sugar had been overdone a little. However this did not really diminish the experience and we had an excellent night out.

Never really paid this place to much attention, that was a mistake. 5 of us went for a meal and we all agreed it was outstanding! Could not fault the food, really good atmosphere and our waiter should be commended. Really looked after us and went beyond the norm without being too much. We all agreed we would return, they have 5 very happy NEW customers.

This is definitely for special occasions! We had a lovely, fancy dinner here and the food was exceptional.

Great atmosphere, dissapointed with the Chateaubriand. 40 quid for two people, and only 4 slices of meat. Calamari was a good size, but over cooked. Staff were great, we will return.

Just had a fantastic meal, steak was cooked to perfection. Manager really friendly but special mention to Jess the waitress. Smiley, chatty, helpful and polite, what more could you want? Superb food and service.

Pop in here when out shopping and never have a bad experience. Always friendly staff and always great food.

First trip to an inside restaurant since government introduced mandatory wearing of face coverings for patrons and staff. Unfortunately none of the staff were wearing masks! Masks should cover the nose and mouth and fit comfortably to the side of the face, face shields do not do this, instead they direct your breath downwards onto the food you are carrying and the people you are serving, so worse than wearing no mask at all. Please staff at Cote check the government face covering guidelines. I would also expect you to request all the customers not wearing masks as they walked through the restaurant to do so. These measures really are essential please, please follow them correctly.

En route home from a, Baptism @ Buckden Towers, St.Neots.Guildford is, a favourite city.Sadly both Loch Fynne and Ask had disappeared since our last visit, but one can always rely on "Cote".Welcoming staff and a table for two near the door - pleasant breeze - but not on a main thoroughfare.Moules had sold out so we both had an excellent, extremely tasty, Ravioli.I followed with Tarte Tartin with Vanilla Ice Cream. A steak knife required to cut the pastry base, but all quite delicious.And my signature Macciato to close. Also good.Hayling Seagoon

Yet another modestly indulgent and eminently enjoyable "post eat-out to help-out! Tuesday lunch. As a regular Côte fan, over a period of many years, the only constructive comment that I can give is "well done" for yet another great meal, attentive service and prices that reasonably reflect the quality of the food. The management and staff of Cote in Guildford have certainly "cracked" the conundrum of delivering a consistently high quality of food and service, reminiscent of a traditional Parisian Bistro with a pleasant, continental atmosphere to match. Today for lunch I had the Calamari starter , Haddock goujons as a main course and an unctuous chocolate fondant for desert.As the "eat-out to help-out" offer is over, the restaurant was not as busy at lunch time, as during the pre-covid-19 times. Tuesday the 15th.September 2020 was an unusually warm day with outside temperatures at nearly 30 degrees C. The air-conditioning inside Cote made the experience even more pleasant.The uncrowded surrounding tables made me feel reassuringly satisfied !

Brunch, lunch, dinner all amazing. My top choice of restaurant. Great quality and choice of food. Vegetarian brunch one of my favourites with fresh orange juice.

Met on arrival and shown to a nice table away from the hustle and bustle of the main dining area. Our server, Mariusz was polite, efficient and friendly and helped make the experience a success. Food was good although crackling on the belly pork could have been better. We really enjoyed our visit and would also like to mention the lovely young blonde waitress who interacted with us in such a nice way. Been to many Cote Restaurants over the years, first time at Guildford. Very enjoyable birthday lunch with my wife. Good atmosphere, the usual standard, quality, service and choice expected from Cote, with all of the right procedures in place for social distancing and very clean.

Venturing out to a restaurant for the first time since lockdown, this restaurant was excellent on every point. Well-organised simple reservation process. Wonderful hospitable welcome on arrival. Restaurant well laid out, spaciously, which as well as allowing social distancing, also makes for a more pleasurable experience. Immaculately clean and every table was stripped down and thoroughly cleaned between each set of diners.The menu was first class and the food delivered promptly, hot and well-prepared. Baked Crottin was divine and the steak that followed was cooked exactly as requested, to perfection. Creme Caramel best I have tasted.The service was attentive, without being intrusive, good-humoured whilst still being deferential.I am sometimes slightly wary of using a chain; but Côte gets it absolutely right. You would think you were in an independent French brasserie in the Place StMichel in Paris.Nothing could be improved upon.

One of my favourite places to go with my friends for lunch. The steaks are always perfectly cooked and the portions of the meals are just right. Very good service from the staff and a very welcoming atmosphere.

We could only get a table at 16.30 but the restaurant was full. The food was excellent the service was perfect. We had a very enjoyable afternoon and would recommend this restaurant to everyone

We have visited cote's on numerous occasions. The staff and food are excellent. The setting is idyllic opposite the historical castle. The seating arrangements are comfortable but at times the place is rather noisy.

Went here for and ate of their lunch deal menu - chateaubriand for 2 - was delicious and would highly recommend! Service and atmosphere was good also.

Have eaten at various Cotes and NEVER had a bad meal or experience. For a chain, they always seem to get it right every time. Service and food spot on.

Cote restaurants have a great pre-theatre menu and service and we dine in them regularly, because the panic of being out in time for curtain up us taken away. The Guildford branch is no exception, even though it was packed on this Friday evening, and we were a large group. The steak frites (my go-to) was, as always, superb, so succulent. Service was charming and efficient, a lovely start to our evening out

The High Street is full of chain restaurants but Cote is different.I wouldn’t say the food is spectacular, but it is certainly delicious and well-executed.What sets it apart is the fabulous service: all the serving staff were friendly and attentive and went the extra mile to ensure we had a great experience. This is sadly so rare but very welcome.

Good food, typically French and very good Italian waiter. I really love the way how they serve the bread.

Ristorante francese con cibo di ottima qualità, buon livello di servizio, bella scelta di vini (a prezzi inglesi purtroppo) e ambiente gradevole. Ottima la spigola con crema allo champagne, i calamari fritti, l'anatra e apprezzati i dolci. Una bella serata di festa in famiglia.

My husband and I chose the onion soup which was delicious followed by the belly pork - lovely. Very pleasant and attentive staff. Will return.

As a vegetarian I had the Jerusalem artichoke risotto, which was magnificent. Plenty of scrummy artichokes - and complementary Parmesan on request.My partner had a marinated half-chicken with parsley butter and frites. She said it was maybe the best she had ever tasted.I had an extra frites also!The frites could not be bettered - light, hot, crispy crunchy, with the lightest sprinkle of salt. Complementary pot of tomato and/or mayo on request. Delicious!We followed up with lemon sorbet and raspberry sorbet in my case whilst my partner had creme brulee.Everything was perfect and the staff delightful.Prices are excellent value for money.It spoils one for anywhere else.

After a long haul up from Chichester (who's idea was it to close the High Street and set up a diversion which lost you in the boondocks?) it was a delight to settle in to the quiet ambience of Cote.My delicious plate of Moules and Frites was a fine reward before assessing all the Prints in the Albany Cup at Guildford PS.My companions both had the duck which disappeared at a good rate of knots.Just Creme Brulee to finish.Will return.Hayling Seagoon

Went to lunch here on Saturday. Staff were very pleasant, but the service was very slow - it didn't matter on this occasion as we weren't in a hurry until near the end, but not really good enough. The food was distinctly average. I ordered steak frites with green salad - chips were good, steak which was promised pink certainly wasn't. Green salad consisted of a round dish approximately 2"-3" in diameter filled with a few very indifferent leaves and no dressing.

We have eaten at many Cote restaurants in the South East but this is our favourite. The staff were very attentive and helpful. The Breton chicken was the best I’ve had. We thoroughly enjoyed and visit and the tasty food and wine.

Went with a couple of friends for dinner on a busy Friday night. Couldn’t fault a thing. Service was fantastic, food delicious and atmosphere on point. Will definitely be returning and highly recommend. Has restored my faith in the Cote chain.

I attended this restaurant with a friend late morning and it was quite busy but the service was great. I had two poached eggs with advocado bacon and toast which was lovely. The eggs were obviously free range with deep yellow yolks. My friend had smoked salmon with scrambled eggs which he really enjoyed. The food was reasonably priced. It’s been about 5 years since I used Cote but it won’t be five years before I go there again

Cote in Guildford has become a firm favourite so it was the obvious choice when a friend and I met for lunch on Thursday. We had noticed the free wine with a la Carte menu in January so I booked online with no problems. Our meal was great! We chose the Merlot to have with our duck and Boef bourguignon mains and shared some olives to start. Then we finished with a shared creme caramel because we were quite full! The mains were really well cooked and presented and arrived speedily, the creme caramel was probably the best I have ever had. Creamy and delicious! The service was good - I have only visited the restaurant at lunchtime and it is always busy - obviously well known as a great place to have lunch. It was also very reasonable.

Tried to book online for a table two days ahead for a birthday party for 5 but time was not listed ,so rang the restaurant as suggested. Called Cote and was held in a que , then spoke to a staff member who took the booking and asked for my name and details, when I gave my contact phone the line went dead. Called back in a que again. Staff member then informed me there was no booking for my name and another party had taken the table. The Manger was busy and I was told to call back another day.

Can't go wrong with French cuisine. The French onion soup was a particular fav. Great service, good wine list and some lively bars nearby to carry on the night.

Friendly staff, can be noisy and acoustics not great when really busy but food and service always excellent. Lovely position in town near the castle.

Been visiting this Brasserie for many years now and the food, wine and service always superb although the restaurant can be a bit noisy.

Extremely underwhelmed! This was the most ‘ordinary’ Côte meal we’ve had so far - the food was very average indeed and not up to the standard of similar meals in other Cote restaurants. The wanna-be Gino D’Acampo’ manager didn’t help and he was far too loud and relentlessly gushing...his faux Italian/English made it very hard to relax and his presence became intrusive. No, I think our love-affair with Cote is over.

Good value meal options. Very tasty food. I loved the moules starter. Friendly staff accommodating our needs.

Another Christmas, another panto,another meal at Cote Brasserie, I simply don’t understand how a restaurant that is part of a chain be so consistently good.

This was the second time we visited this restaurant with it being as welcoming as before my wife & I arrived early and was shown quickly to our table .Drinks came up promptly as we waited for the other guests to arrive. Menus were distributed as soon as all the guests have arrived food was good i had the 10 oz Rib Eye which was cooked to perfection,one thing we liked about this place was that you never got desperate Dan portions which left plenty of room for pudding we will be eating here again in the near future

I think this is a great restaurant, good atmosphere and good staff. I can’t vouch for the food because I`m a vegan alongside the ever growing vegan movement. Guildford is now pretty good for vegans (even The Ivy has a full blown vegan menu), so what happened to Côte? ONE vegan meal, lentils with mushrooms and yes it was as bland and hideous as it sounds. Do their chefs have no imagination or simply don’t care? With more and more people turning to plant based diets, why on earth is Côte remaining such a dinosaur. Won’t bother visiting again.

Such a great meal. Had the prestige set menu, beginning with the onion soup which as yummy, followed by the chicken which was so tender and delicious, and then chocolate mousse dessert. Delicious!

8 of us had a very good dinner here - BUT I was so disappointed and surprised to hear that the choice of gin was only Gordons or Bombay. I would have expected more choice and certainly Silent Pool as they are 10 minutes up the road!

Like all Cote's good food, wine and service - great place to meet up with friends and family - my 91 year old mother approved!

Love to come here when I want to relax with great food. Slow to come to the table, but v well worth the wait.

Whilst wondering around Guildford on Sunday night found this exceptional restaurant. Excellent professional service - fantastic food........cant ask for more Planning another trip to Guildford in the new year so will be back!

Probably the case too a couple of years ago, now undisputed winner few others eg Cau closed given austerity. We arrived really early 530pm last night and see the whole rearrange completely full by 630. Strongly recommended!

Visited the restaurant for lunch before going to the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre for the Thursday Matinee.

The best sea bass I have EVER eaten! Gorgeous! It was tasty, moist and served with a lovely sauce...

Guildford Cote is our go to, safe choice. Excellent polite, friendly service. Good choice on menu. Often go for breakfast. I really like the “French black pudding” and lunch excellent value and always tasty. Nice atmosphere!

Really friendly staff here, and the menu offers a good choice and is always nicely served and well cooked. Even though it's part of a chain it doesn't feel like this; it doesn't feel as if there are shortcuts taken with food production/cooking. Their steak tartare is really very good.

Visited in August for a friend’s birthday and enjoyed their a la carte meal with a free Aperol Spritz. The garlic prawns starter was excellent, the goats cheese salad was over-cooked but to be fair we were chatting too long and my friend really enjoyed the chicken ‘Breton’. I would definitely go back again and cannot fault the impeccable service.

The staff were attentive and very friendly throughout the whole night despite it being a busy Friday. They were well informed about allergen information (one person in the group has a nut allergy) and generally quite helpful. The food was of a good standard and had a wide variety for different dietary needs within the group.a pleasant environment and overall experience.

I have really enjoyed my time at Côte Brasserie: the place is elegant and clean, the Staff friendly and capable, the dishes very tasty and the price adequate to the quality. I will come back for sure!

So, the Cote Restaurant in Guildford has, in the past, been one of my favourite places to go for lunch. It has always been good value had friendly staff and a lively atmosphere. However, I met my friends, as usual, last Friday (13th!) and was not so impressed with the service. I ordered the same thing as I always do, steak frites which is always tasty, tender and a treat for me as I never eat steak in restaurants. The steak, unfortunately, was not a good piece and I would say about one third of it was inedible due to it being grisly. Now, I understand that this can happen, but think it should be recognised by the restaurant that a piece of steak has been served and the customer dissatisfied. When the waitress came to clear the plates, she asked if the meal had been okay. I mentioned the steak and she said she would mention it to the manager. I heard nothing else until we paid the bill and when I reminded her, she said "oh yes, sorry about that". I really do not think that was a satisfactory response. Customer service is important to me and I feel the issue was inadequately dealt with. On a positive note, the staff were polite, the atmosphere buzzing and it is the first time in many visits this has happened.

Had Sunday lunch with friends here. Very good menu with specials. Price very good Very pleasant staff. Would recommend and would visit again

Hadn’t really been to Guildford before and looking for something a bit better to eat rather than the usual fast food suspects, before going onto a gig. I’d done some research and Cote Brasserie lived up to my expectations. Swisher than the likes of Cafe Rouge, and clearly pretty popular. Lots of appealing stuff on their menu but the pre-theatre set menu ( served until 7pm) at just shy of £12 pretty enticing. I had a starter of sardines and steak and frites for the main. Well cooked, not overdone etc. Of course the price goes up a bit if you have an aperitif and a glass of wine with the meal but you’d pay that anywhere. Usual (12.5% )Service charge added to your bill,but I think they deserved it and said service friendly and food arrived without delay.

We have had breakfast here on several occasions, today has been as always - great service with helpful staff and excellent breakfast food, much better, for some strange reason, that other Cotes we have visited. Will keep returning!

Eat breakfast here about half a dozen times a year. I like the environment and the food and would give it a 4 star, but for the variability of the service. It can be a buzzing Sunday morning and the staff make it work, but if you get the wrong waiters at the wrong time look out. Today just such a day; 9.30am on a Tuesday when all but five tables were empty. On entry no staff front of shop. After 30 seconds two older male waiters appear chatting from the staff doorway. I try to order as I'm shown to a table (full English with tea), but my order is met with silence and a "look". The waiter goes behind his counter and continues his conversation with his colleague. It becomes clear that of the five tables occupied one is finishing up and the other four are all waiting to order their breakfasts. After a few minutes further wait the first waiter comes out and does take the order of one table on his electronic gizmo and then returns behind his counter. The waiters continue their conversation. A lady two tables away walks up to the counter and says "Would it be possible that you will take my order?". To which neither waiter replies, but instead give her the same "look" as I received earlier. How long the waiters would have maintained their stony silence I don't know as the standoff is resolved when a young lady who might be the acting manager appears from the staff doorway and shows the lady back to her table and takes the order herself, whilst the two older male waiters continue their conversation behind their counter. If Cote was a theme park you would delight in these guys grotesque caricature of a French waiter. Not up for it today and left.

shopping in guildford, deciding where to eat so went on line, offered a bottle of wine which swayed it, so good, had the cote de boeuf, sensational, bearnaise sauce to be proud of, best creme caramel ever, wonderful afternoon, lovely waiter as well, thanks again

Should have taken heed of the fact that all the other restaurants were bursting on Saturday night, while Côte was 2/3 empty...however, it’s local reputation is good. I’m not sure why. Pleasant if slightly cool service (and a lot of banging around at the bar/coffee area at the end of the night (10.30!) as they prepared for the next day).

Visited to celebrate a special occasion at the end of July. It is a very reliable place where the staff are always friendly and the service speedy as well as efficient. The food as always was excellent. We had lobster frites with hollandaise sauce. As they were celebrating their 10th anniversary we were give a free bottle of Macon Villages. It was a very good wine and complemented the meal.

Busy restaurant but staff welcoming and attentive throughout one’s visit. Menu limited but food excellently cooked and . served. The complimentary drink provided for special occasions is a welcome bonus.

We have been going to Cote Brasserie for more than ten years, on average 8-10 times per year, and have never been disappointed. Over the years, staff have come and gone, but they always make us feel right at home.

I understand that this is part of a chain but that should not be seen as a negative.. The staff were friendly and seated us on time. It was busy so the noise level was energetic. They were running two or three course set menu for 17 or 20 pounds which gave you access to a really good selection from the a la carte items. Wine selection was fine and overall I thought it was very good value.

Just a last minute booking for lunch and it was super. Good food, good service, the restaurant was quite busy but still food came well presented.

It's easy to be disparaging about chain restaurants, but Côte sets itself apart from the usual town-centre dining options with a balanced menu, simple but well-executed dishes and a decent wine list, all at a reasonable price.

A perfect Friday supper with friends.

The food at Cote is consistently good. We have been here before but this time took a family party, and everyone enjoyed their meals. The prices though are not cheap. Service was professional and functional without being extraordinary.

A group of seven ate here on Wednesday evening my wife and I arrived early we were shown to our table and the drinks came up quickly when the other arrived drinks orders were again taken quickly. But after that the service slowed down it was a little longer for starters and mains three of the party ordered ribeye steaks they looked nothing like other rib-eyes I had ordered in the past so in closing the food was good service friendly but slow at times would I eat here again a resounding yes.

Serving staff attentive and pleasant but haddock goujons dry and tasteless. Couldn't eat the accompanying green veg (peas and cabbage of some kind) and I love green veg. Cabbage leaves soggy, peas hard and dry. The French fries were ok...

Great meal and service like with every Cote, just a shame it's a little robotic, you can give great service whilst being personable, but the food was nice from the set menu, you know what to expect from them, steak cooked well and nice wine.

We visited here on Friday evening (husbands birthday) and had a lovely evening. It was very noisy which we aren't used to but apart from the noise, the atmosphere and staff were very nice. The food was lovely too and the portions were huge. My daughter and I had calamari in breadcrumbs for starter, my husband had asparagus hollandaise and all tasted very freshly prepared and delicious. For mains we had a 7oz fillet steak, grilled salmon & fish pie. They were all very nice and the extras frites and creamed spinach was tasty. The desserts (creme caramel) were amazing.

We often visit Cote for Sunday breakfast/brunch or evening meals with friends. Food is always of a high standard and the service friendly, efficient and effortless.

Visited with 2 children and the staff were wonderful with them. Good attentive service. The calamari starter was lovely, would definitely recommend. The chicken was quite dry and I don’t think the haddock goujons was worthy of being a portion but we would just choose differently next time as still a lovely restaurant.

Have lunched here many times and it never fails to be consistently good. Staff are always polite and welcoming and food always high standard. And very good value for money.

My daughter and I treated my Mum (and my Dad) to lunch here for her birthday today. We arrived at the beginning of lunchtime service when it was quiet but it soon became very busy, so much so that it became difficult to hear ourselves talk (the wooden flooring definitely didn't help), and this is why I have only rated the restaurant 4 stars. If I was judging purely based on food & service this branch of Cote would her 5 stars as the lunch was delicious. Recommended but maybe visit on a quiet day!

Despite being really busy, the service was amazing, attentive staff throughout. Food was high quality, great value for money. Really tasty. Gorgeous vegetables. Service friendly and speedy. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Always take opportunity to eat at this chain to sample french Brasserie menu, favorite Steak Pommes Frites a popular selection, great bread and service. Most major cities, a favorite on Kingston Thames but all serve same menu, always gd service.

Excellent set menus of 2 and 3 courses. A la Carte favourites of duck, and starters of pate. Fairly priced set menu and wines. Highly recommend.

Booked a room table for breakfast. Seated in bright conservatory area. Service prompt and friendly. Eggs benedict excellent. Breakfast here is consistently good, at most branches anyway. Always my first choice for breakfast but best to book in Guildford branch on a Saturday morning or you won’t get in.

We really enjoyed our visit today (as we often do). Lovely cuisine with finely crafted flavours cooked to homely perfection. Acoustics can be difficult (read noisy) but the 'nothing is too much' style staff arranged a quieter table for us - our only complaint is that it meant moving from waiter Adil's area. It's great to come across waiters whose mission in their vocation is to deliver real service.

We have had many happy meals - always served with a smile. An excellent menu with a good wine list - many served by the glass. The restaurant is in a brilliant position so popping in for lunch when shopping is really easy!!!!!!

I love eating here. The staff are welcoming, the setting charming with great views of Castle Gardens opposite. I usually order the steak and frites with a glass or two of Prosecco. The food is unpretentious and great value for money. Can't beat it. A little gem tucked away in the back streets of Guildford. I come back here time and time again and have never been disappointed.

Cote Brasserie continues to buck the trend currently squeezing the likes of Jamie’s Italian and even Carluccios and which has already driven the likes of Cau steakhouse to extinction. This substantial nationwide collection taking its indoors from French brasseries and bistros may not currently be expanding but does not appear to be contracting either. Why? Judging by the lunch we enjoyed at the Guildford branch yesterday the answer I think is simple and clear. Cote continues to deliver consistently excellent French cuisine at extremely reasonable prices. A starter of charcuterie (a mere £7.25) including slices of duck, salami, ham, not to mention duck rillettes, toast and a substantial green salad (lettuce, endives, gherkins) was more than enough for two to share. And all fresh ingredients of the highest quality. My wife’s main of duck breast from the a la carte served with gratin dauphinoise was a substantial rich and satisfying dish. My daughter’s roast chicken breast with potato gratin and green beans from the bespoke children’s menu was also of the highest standard treating her as a young adult not a token diner. The only slight disappointment was my haddock main from the list of seasonal specials. Wrapped in pancetta on a bed of lentils but without enough of the accompanying creamy sauce it was a little too dry. But there then followed complimentary mousse au chocolat for all of us, a rich and creamy delight. No complaints about my large glass of rose. Otherwise it’s a great feature of this place that the complimentary water served in pewter jugs keeps on coming. Double espressos were a tad strong. Service polite and ultra efficient with waiters immediately summoned as soon as a tray of food arrived from the kitchen.

We have visited Cote Restaurant in Guildford a number of times either alone or with friends. Our experience was invariably excellent. The restaurant is situated near the centre of Guildford, off the High Street. Opening the restaurant door activates the ‘Hello, How are you today’ girl that takes you to your table. The restaurant is far larger than the impression one gets from outside. We like the fact that we are given a number of tables to choose from rather than being pushed to a place convenient to the waiters, which happens in most restaurants. Almost all restaurants nowadays provide something complimentary, like olives as an appetiser or mint chocolates at the end of the meal. Cote provides complimentary ‘tap water’ that is delivered to your table with aplomb as if it was vintage wine! The set menus provide extensive choice of items as starters, main meals or desserts. We strongly recommend the caramel dessert. The quality of food is very high and the portions are more than adequate. The waiters emanate from all the parts of the globe, Latin America, Central Europe, North Africa etc., and are charming and efficient. In summary this is an excellent restaurant, providing excellent value of money that will not disappoint even the most demanding. Strongly recommended.

We were looking for a place to have breakfast before shopping in Guildford. We like this chain but some places are better than others as you know. This one in Guildford is in right location, service is good and quick, meal is excellent. The only minus is- they are too busy to bring you your bill. But still 5 stars. We recommend Eggs Benedict & Crepe Complete.

Have visited this light and airy Cote branch several times and it never disappoints. Each visit has been Saturday lunchtime when I've booked a table as it gets very busy with loads of tables taken by 1pm. Friendly and attentive staff, nice buzzy atmosphere and good solid dependable food. Having said that we always order the burgers or steak frites so can only really comment on these choices which are cooked well, tasty and value for money with a couple of glasses of wine thrown in. A good place for a lunch when shopping in Guildford and meeting up with friends.

My husband & I had been shopping in Guildford & planned to eat out before returning home. We visited this restaurant at about 5.30pm. The restaurant was half full at this time. Service was good & delivered at the correct speed as we were not in any rush.

Have been a regular diner at this beautiful gem of a place for many years, but the last visit was the first let down we have had. Early dinner, easy to get a table, service was good but the food was lacking. The pissaladiere was soggy and undercooked, the steak (in the steak-frites) was hardly even warm, but the pork belly was atrocious - very undercooked, greasy and cold white fat, the "crackling" skin was flabby and inedible. Pity, it used to be so good.
