Good To check that the food is as described on the menu I email reference a discrepancy on the menu. A group of us dined at the Bury St Edmunds restaurant at 1.45 on Sunday, the booking was in the name of Joanna Godfrey. Booked by Curtis (very helpful chap) I ordered the Poulet Grille with Watercress, when my meal was served it was served with Rocket, which has a very strong flavour and did not compliment the dish in the same way. I mentioned it to the server, who thought they probably had run out - this should have been mentioned when she took our order. I ordered this on the basis of the specific accompaniments and I am also not a particular lover of rocket, so this was all a bit disappointing. More than happy for establishments to substitute items and ingredients, not everything is available all the time - but just make customers aware!

Expensive add-ons,luke warm steak and coffee. Very nice latte but not hot enough. Asked what sauce we wanted with steak but wasn't informed it was £2.75 plus the 10%,it was almost cold. The minute steak was barely warm and a fifth of it was the fat at top. Very small portion of fries. The dessert ,Plum calfoutis was excellent. Service was very pleasant and not rushed.

A valentine's meal for myself and my partner, booked at Cote as we like the chain and Bury is a place that we enjoy visiting. Having travelled extensively for business in France since the 70's and being a lover of real French cuisine, Cote is probably the best reasonably priced and nearly authentic chain of brasserie style restaurant available this side of the channel, without visiting vastly over priced London places. We have never had a bad experience, service or bad food at any Cote Brasserie over many years. One 'complaint' is that the music should be more French bistro style rather than modern pop, a bit of Grappelli or Piaf would have gone down as well as the wine did.

Have always enjoyed Cote, often dine there for lunch when out with girlfriends, either in Cambridge, BSE, even London if we have a day out shopping & theatre, but I think maybe they are getting a little complacent, we normally go for the little set lunch, but the menu hasn't changed in a very long time, so I think it could do with something different? Also on our visit to B.S.E branch on Wednesday 31st January, I was very disappointed with the dessert of pancakes, tasted like rubber!

Atmosphere and service were really lovely, but the food wasn’t good. Tried the ribeye and it was super chewy. The beef bourguignon was also chewy and the texture was tough. The overall flavor was lackluster. Also tried desserts - the crème brûlée and sorbet left something to be desired. The crème brûlée tasted burnt. The sorbet tasted about as exciting as water.

Friends booked for New Years day luncheon. It was very busy, the service was a little slow, however we had a lovely sparkling glass of bubbles for the new year and a good house wine, house wines are now so much better and good value. They had run out of French Onion soup, so had mains, one guest the lamb, which he enjoyed ,one the burger, I had the chicken with sliced beans and chips. The service for food picked up, the atmosphere is always pleasant and staff attentive. Its got some of the best acoustics in town, you can hear each other even when its busy. Once again I thought my chicken was rather dry, not enough to send back, but enough to be surprised, I did leave some which I was surprised about. Its a dish I frequently have at Cote. Of course I will again, its my kind of venue,

Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. They failed to inform us about unavailable items, serving our breakfast incomplete without notice. Upon inquiry, we were told about the unavailability, leaving us with an incomplete meal. What made the situation worse was that they did not make any effort to make up for the oversight. Additionally, we were billed for the full amount, despite not consuming all the items. It would have been appreciated if they had acknowledged the lapse and taken steps to rectify the situation.

I had a very pleasant meal at Cote Bury on Christmas Eve; but shortly afterwards, I received an email asking me to "rate my experience". I would have been very happy to do so, until I discovered that I had to answer every question, including whether the server was "knowledgable about the menu" - I never asked, so I have no idea! As a result, trying to complete this questionnaire was a complete waste of time, and I think this is something that your head office should address.

Greeted begrudgingly, borderline surly although our actual waitress was lovely. Food was average, portions rather small. Our order was stuck behind another much larger order, so our second course of the Menu de Noel arrived quite late. However, the manager took it up on themselves to pay for our beverages as a sort of apology. This was unprompted as well, we had no complaints about waiting a bit longer for such delicious food. The mushroom bourguignon was my favorite dish of them all, the mushrooms used had both the texture and taste of meat and were absolutely delicious. The dish's richness was also cut well with the potato puree, making for the best meal I've tasted in recent days. I also appreciate that we were able to enjoy the ambiance without judgement, as a gay couple we occasionally find ourselves warding strange looks from people less tolerant. All in all this restaurant was a wonderful experience with impeccable style, a lively atmosphere, incredibly kind and accommodating staff, and above all delicious food that I will be thinking about fondly until my next visit. I encourage all to visit for a reasonably priced taste of French Cuisine. I, most certainly, will be back.

Booked a table for 6, we were given a booth and it was tight for 6 adults. I asked if we could move table to allow us some more room, not a problem at all. The waitress set us up with another table. Starters were good, the Calamari and French Onion Soup in particular. Regarding main courses, the duck apparently was cooked beautifully, the mussels got a big thumbs up. They only thing I would say, and it didn’t affect our meal, is that the accompaniments were warm and not hot..so chips etc seemed like they had been waiting before being brought out. In conclusion, the family enjoyed the food and the service was good.

I took my sister and her daughter for lunch, as my sister was over from Melbourne and my niece from New York, we had a mainly lovely time, and our waitress was very nice and remembered my sister and I from a previous visit in the summer. Only slight downside was another waitress brought my coffee as part of my desert, as well as an additional coffee which none of our party had ordered. I explained this to the waitress and she took the other coffee away, and ‘banged’ the milk down in front of me and walked off without supplying my party with cutlery, my sister then went to obtain said cutlery. Our main waitress witnessed this and was very apologetic. I am not one to normally complain but this incident did slightly take the shine off our lunchtime dinning. Apart from that we had a lovely time as I had not seen my niece for thirteen years.

The interior of Cote is very refined and stylish and adds to the calm and cozy ambiance one might desire for a date night. The positives do not stop there, as the menu boasts an array of delicious and scrumptious food. The starters, mains, and sides all came out perfect. We enjoyed and continue to enjoy all of the food that is served here. Additionally, they have delicious cocktails (and mocktails) that compete against purpose-built cocktail bars. I recommend trying Cote for their exemplary customer service, delicious menu, and relaxing vibe. P.S: I was able to last-minute organize a surprise for my wife with the restaurant manager. Genuinely disappointed. We came for my mums 60th birthday and thought we would treat her to a lovely meal. It started really well we all really enjoyed our starters no complaints there but it all went downhill with our mains. Items were mixed up with our steaks being cooked wrong my husband ordered a medium well fillet and I ordered a medium ribeye they were cooked the over way round. We then had the wrong sauces and chips put with the wrong steaks, 3 or us ordered steaks. My steak was just warm not hot at all and the chips were cold. My brother in laws dauphinoise potatoes were extremely small he said if he had know we would have ordered additional sides but was too late at this point. My sisters meal was cold she ordered the beef stroganoff and when we told the waitress she then questioned my sister if she was sure due to the plate being very warm underneath. She assured her it was as she had just tried it and her husband agreed (whom is a chef) made us feel a little uncomfortable as there was no apology for the errors. They did remove my sisters meal from the bill but was just very disappointing that not one of our min meals were correct. The desserts were delicious. We visited Cotes for lunch to celebrate our mother's 80th birthday. Helen the manager was totally outstanding! Our mum was greeted with a glass of champagne, the table was decorated with butterfly sparkles (courtesy of Cotes) and the balloons I had ordered were in place when we arrived, as promised. The food was at it's usual high standard and the cake, we were allowed to take in, was presented with candles at our request. Bear in mind there is a 'cake tax' a slice for Helen 🤫😉 I would highly recommend, as it was the perfect restaurant for our celebration...the staff, the food, the attention to detail and especially Helen. Thankfully there is only a few restaurants like this...as it makes the best easier to shine!

I am never disappointed with Cote. Tonight's visit was exceptional. Could not fault the service, friendly welcome, and quality of food. We had the Cote de Boef, and fish stew. All superb. Great choice of wines too. We are on holiday and pleased to have found Cote restaurant near us. A huge thankyou to all the staff who do a brilliant job at looking after their customers.

This has become a real favourite with ourselves and our family, visiting very often. The food is great, however, we often have the CÔTE DE BOEUF, and have noticed that over the last few months it has got thinner and thinner, and is no longer...

We had booked a dinner, bed and breakfast package in one of the best lodges with hot tub. On arrival we went to the bar to check in and were showed to our lodge by a young team member, he spoke only to give a couple of bits of information on the heating/hot tub/breakfast timings but was not very welcoming - I would expect a bit of polite chat on the walk over to the lodge for instance ask where we had come from, how was the journey etc. He checked the hot tub which was cold as the fire had gone out but he said it would heat up in 20 minutes or so, this was not the case and actually took a couple of hours which was disappointing. The room itself was lovely, comfortable and spacious but a little more attention to the detail of cleaning would be beneficial. The heating came via an air con unit which was incredibly noisy during the night keeping us awake and didn’t go off even when off on the remote - we had to remove the card from the power slot to disconnect it! We had drinks in the bar whilst waiting for the hot tub to heat up and then back for dinner at 8.30pm when we were told there was no steak left which was a big disappointment. We asked if there was a set menu for the package but were told it was the same menu, we were not told that there was a £60 per head limit for food for dinner and breakfast - perhaps it was in the booking notes but I didn’t remember seeing it. The staff member forgot to bring our side order so we were half way through the meal before we received it. The food was good but portions small for the price. We had drinks at the bar, one excellent staff knowledgeable member serving, but the another who did not know the standard measure for a baileys and who made an espresso martini which although tasted good only half filled the glass which we had never experienced before - it wasn’t a big glass! Breakfast was good except non runny poached egg! Would have preferred a pot of tea but was nice. Overall a lovely setting, more care needed with cleaning - look at the lampshades above the bar! Some great staff members but some who seemed to lack training and confidence - get that right and the whole experience would be much improved.

Taken by friends but found the food to be warm, not hot. Today Lunch meals thst were served in a 'kept hot' state + Lamb viewed as running with fat. Vegetables at best, warm. Considering not 100% of tables were in use, bar staff did not listen to customer enough. Felt viewing menu, if Sandwiches are £7.50 (a round ?), that's a mighty price to pay in a common or garden town centre pub. Semi-restrictive for a wheelchair. Dog friendly and staff all had smiles.

Our go to place for coffee. Good coffee and breakfasts but the cakes have always been disappointing. Dry red velvet cake and the cherry bakewll crust is too thick. Get the cake right and it would be a huge improvement.
