Very good food, highly recommended. Staff very welcoming and food came to the table quick. Very understanding staff despite being busy

Table for 6 wasn’t nearly big enough. Felt squashed In and cramped. Food was ok but nothing special. Order the ribeye steak which had a lot of fat and gristle on it leaving me extremely underwhelmed and disappointed. Ordered chunky chips but these never came. Not sure I’d rush back

On arrival, the staff were not welcoming and simply asked if we had booked. Generally looked fed up. Shown to a table and during the visit was served by 4 different staff and they weren’t really friendly and seemed in a hurry to get on. At times I got the feeling they resented the customers being there! Food was reasonable quality - although Steak and French fries shouldn’t be difficult for a chef and at £24 each. The tiniest few rocket leaves on the side of the plate looked miserable. We wouldn’t return as there is so much better in Blackheath Village.

Had lunch here with a friend on 22 December. We thought the food was excellent, the prices reasonable, and the service quick and efficient despite the restaurant being very busy. Will definitely return.

Have been here many times, We tried the Christmas Menu on a Sunday, and were rather impressed. We all had the turkey main course and thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were all very helpful and friendly, especially as the place was very very busy. One of us wanted to take a dessert home, which was not a problem at all. Good job all round.

Disappointing. Overpriced. Stingy portions. Service rushed. The creme caramel was the only saving grace. Would hesitate to return.

Visited for Sunday brunch. Service slow and disorganised. At one point witnessed 4 staff struggling to serve our drink order. Food was very disappointing. When it arrived the breakfast was poor, tomatoes raw, unseasoned. Toast cold and why do you have to ask for butter? How difficult can an English breakfast be to prepare? Unfortunately this is not the first time I have experienced a poor meal at this restaurant, I will really think very hard before returning again. Its just not worth the money they are charging.

Visited for breakfast. Quite quiet, excellent service (even when it got busier) and brilliant food. Disabled toilet on the ground floor which is always appreciated.

Met with some friends for dinner here last night. The food, wine and service was great. We were sat across from a doorway where staff took dirty dishes and sometimes the noises from this was distracting, other than no complaints and we will definitely visit again but maybe ask for a different table.

We celebrated my daughters birthday here, the food was perfect, the staff lovely and friendly but not over bearing. The service was v good. At the end of the meal they came out with a chocolate pudding and candle etc and sang happy birthday!!! All in all lovely and will keep going.

We spend a relaxing afternoon chatting with friends over a great food with attentive service. We were offered a quieter table so that we could chat which was excellent.

This was my first time at Cote, I was really looking forward to trying their food as I went as part of a booking (6 of us) for my Grandmother’s 81st Birthday. Most of the waiting staff were lovely, though I felt sorry for them, it seemed as though they were understaffed- not only bad for the well-being of waiting staff but also the customers’ experience, so I hope this is not due to management cutting corners for long term detriment. I have worked in restaurants myself and dine in all kinds of places from McDonald’s to the Ritz. For a place that appears to market itself as elegant and sophisticated, it made for a stressful dining experience and I have had far better service in cheap cafes. Our seating area was very dark. Not great for my grandmother’s eyes or for our picture taking (which is something venues might want to consider in this day and age). We waited an hour for our food. Yes, we did visit on a Saturday afternoon- however good restaurants are not defeated by this. My company only ordered steak and fries, when the food arrived the fries were undercooked and cold. The staff forgot to bring our drinks as well as one of the desserts, which looked as though the components had been dropped on the plate in a hurry once they had been reminded. In spite of these frustrations, myself and my company of course remained polite towards the staff and did not see the point in complaining to our servers who seemed understaffed and overworked. For the price, it just wasn’t worth it. Harvester’s or Zedel’s would have done a better job. So yeah, waited a long time, food was undercooked and cold, they forgot our orders and the ambience was non existent. For the price, just not worth it. The only reason this is not a one star review is because the most of the staff were lovely and the desserts were delicious.

The Cote chain has in the past been a pleasant local eatery with reasonable price & a well designed restaurant but try to get a window seat downstairs as upstairs is rather dark.Before the staff exodus post Brexit the managers were brilliant & the staff excellent no longer service now much more variable & erratic (last visit they got my main course wrong & my wife had finished her meal before Y dish arrived. Prices as with all cafes & restaurants are very much more expensive Pan fried salmon £18.95 moule frites £14.95 rib eye steak £23.95 picpoul de pinet £10.50 125ml

Went in with my sister for late lunch. Greeted with a nonchalant manner and when asked for table by window was told reserved. Anyway was seated in the corner for 2 and watched the table which no one sat for at least an hour and then 3 turned up, not reserved and was placed by window! We received “no check ins, sorry food will be here in a minute, completely ignored.” Food finally came and was ok nothing to write home about. Sad part was we ordered m full menu plus wine. Not cheap! Not happy! Service was very disappointing! By the way own a place in Blackheath and do eat out in Cillage but think will be last visit

Such a shame as we usually like Cote. We ordered and food took over 35 minutes to come. Some dishes were cold which we sent back (replacement dishes much better and hot), some orders incorrect, poorly presented and gluten free toast like cardboard. Drinks fine. We did complain and manager was quick to apologise more than once and made very generous discount on the bill which was appreciated. Staff were lovely. Such a disappointment but was slightly rectified by managers quick , appropriate actions. Hoping this is a one off disappointment.

Cote seem to have suddenly decided to downsize their dishes. The fish parmentier is now the size of a starter - literally half the usual size and mostly potato - and the crepes with banana was half the size, only one crepe instead of the usual two. The manager denied the fish dish had been reduced in size but it was so obvious and undeniably reduced in size but admitted that the crepe dish had been reduced. Not a happy regular customer.

We arrived and as we were shown to our table the under manager told us that 3 of the dishes on the menu weren’t available. Bearing in mind that this was a Sunday of the Bank holiday weekend that was surprising as they were due to open again on Monday so God knows how many dishes wouldn’t be available then! We ordered only to be told that one of the dishes we’d ordered was now unavailable so had to choose again. My starter of twice baked cheese soufflé arrived with a cheese sauce that resembled solidified lava from Mount Etna. I immediately refused to take it in that state so it was taken away. Another followed 10 minutes later but after the rest of the table had finished their food. Mains arrived, a half Breton chicken, clearly reheated , a mushroom flan (you could have bought better in a supermarket ) with fries worse than you might get in McDonalds, lukewarm and lacking crispness. Why doesn’t the chain serve proper fries or chips? The squashTabbouleh was equally disappointing, just one piece of squash semi cooked, very little spinach and mainly lentils all lukewarm. Further complaint followed and the manager, who was sympathetic, explained that they were 2 chefs down and this was causing problems. Now if that was the case then they ought to have shut the restaurant and avoided serving poor quality food. The bill was reduced but we went out for a pleasant evening, not for a poor meal at reduced cost. I made the mistake of paying the service charge on the reduced bill too. Cote is losing it’s way if this is how the chain is treating customers.

We went there for breakfast. The restaurant was very busy and the host at the door shared no smile nor was very inviting as we didn't have a booking. We didn't get disheartened by that as really needed a breakfast and since he found us a table we decided to give it a try. Our waiter was polite and professional but you could see how busy he and the rest of the staff were, not having enough time to offer a proper service. Short after we ordered, a member of staff came to inform us that they don't have one of the ingredients and we agred for a substitute. When our order arrived, the real dissapointment started: all the eggs that supposed to be poached, were hardboiled, the avocado toast was made of two small pieces of what looked like a baguette slices ( tiny) and you could see that they must have been really low on bread by looking on our plates. At the end the waiter offered us to take 2 of the breakfasts offf the bill which was a nice gesture we didn't expect.

My friend and I stopped here for early dinner on Sunday. I was amazed by the attention to detail, standard of service. Staff been friendly and helpful with the menu, you could tell they have a good knowledge of the menu. The food was absolutely out of this world. Some of the best I’ve had in a very long time! We had the bread and prawns as a starter and the pork belly as a main, both were amazing. I highly recommend!!! Thank you for the hospitality and a meal worth remembering. If I could give more stars I would! It wasn’t our first dinner in Cote but it’s my first overdue review. The food was lovely, we were positively surprised by the offer menu which we thought may not be available any more and the waiters were absolutely amazing! Jarek in particular went above and beyond to make us feel looked after like royalty! Best way to celebrate the end of a lockdown, would recommend to anyone!

Exceptional experience on the first day of re-opening after the latest Lockdown. So good to be welcomed back by staff who make us feel valued; just as we value them. Even more stunning food than usual. Les Moules; perfectly lightly cooked, perfectly fresh and beautifully small. Salmon ditto; huge portion, perfectly cooked in a perfect sauce. Chicken that was just right; cooked right through, but perfectly moist. We even managed a dessert. But above all, brilliant service. Thank you; we'll be back every week... And I've just noticed that I first reviewed the Blackheath Cote 8-10 years ago, soon after they opened, with the hope that "they keep up this high standard in a village with lots of competition"... And they have! Better than the rest. And better value too. Keep it up!

Estábamos buscando en Blackheath un lugar para cenar y pensamos que el menú sonaba muy bien. La esencia y las camareras eran amables y serviciales. Uno tenía la sopa de cebolla francesa y el otro tenía el paté de hígado de pollo que estaban deliciosos. El principal - bourgeon de ternera y panceta de cerdo eran deliciosos y teníamos sus postres. Definitivamente recomiendo la tarta de manzana.

¡Muchísimas gracias a Giovanna! Este siempre ha sido un gran restaurante económico con buena comida, pero hasta ahora nunca me había sentido obligado a escribir una reseña. Ahora que estoy tratando de tener un bebé, la PKU de mi novia es de repente de importancia crítica para no afectar la función cerebral de un bebé si manejamos un embarazo. Tanto es así que solo puede tener 4. 5 g de proteína normal al día con 80 comprimidos complementando el resto. Casi nunca hay un plato principal o entrante que pueda pedir, y con frecuencia tiene que recurrir a algunas ensaladas de acompañamiento. De vuelta a Giovanna. . . gracias a esta dama maravillosamente considerada, se las arregló para preparar una comida completa de tres platos al excluir los bits aquí y allá, y compensar con otros. Podríamos ser vistos como clientes extremadamente difíciles, pero Giovanna vio todo a través de la cocina para entregar algo mucho más allá de las expectativas. Le agradecemos enormemente y les informaremos a otras personas que padecen PKU que hay un lugar donde pueden comer.

Me gustaba Cote por su variado menú vegetariano. Ahora se fue. Quizás sea comprensible que la crisis restrinja la oferta de platos. Pero para las verduras, la oferta se limitó aún más. Los dos platos principales se basaban en queso de cabra. Como era uno de los estadistas. Me gusta el queso de cabra. Pero también me gusta la variedad. No había nada para veganos. Esta no es la Cote que solía recomendar a mis amigos. Un poco de pensamiento sobre la elección, por favor. Y un regreso a los estándares anteriores.

Comida improvisada después de bajar del tren en Blackeath, miró a través de las ventanas y parecía tener las mejores mesas socialmente distanciadas, ya que tratamos de evitar comer en el interior, pero hacía demasiado frío para afuera. Nos preguntaron con qué mesa nos sentíamos más cómodos y cómo queríamos configurarla, fue muy reconfortante y, además, ¡la comida y el servicio fueron fantásticos!

Visitamos en nuestra primera comida desde que comenzó el cierre en marzo de 2020.Si bien nuestro camarero era amable, solía desaparecer para fumar afuera y no se lavaba las manos al regresar, solo usaba el gel.La comida era agradable y la mousse de chocolate excelente.

La comida estaba bien, nada especial. Sin guarnición en el plato y comida sin sabor. Todo fue muy básico. El servicio era bastante pobre. Nuestra camarera no podía preocuparse menos por nosotros. Cara como un trasero abofeteado. Probablemente mi peor experiencia en Cote, suele ser muy consistente. No se apresurará a regresar.

Estábamos dando un paseo por Blackheath Village un sábado por la tarde soleada y vimos una mesa vacía para 2 afuera y la agarramos. Tuve el estofado de pescado y mi esposa el salmón con ratatouille, regado con un vaso grande de Sauvignon Blanc cada uno. Mi estofado de pescado estuvo bien, he comido mejor calamares cocidos y los mejillones eran más pequeños, pero estaba aceptable. Mi esposa disfrutó mucho su salmón. El servicio fue bueno. Eficiente y amigable pero sin prisas. Volvería y elegiría algo más que el estofado de pescado, pero fue una experiencia agradable.

I proposed to my wife. I told the staff online when booking a table that was going to happen. They provided a lovey quiet eating area with the best service and the food and how the staff was 6 out of 5 star. Perfect place good value for money friendly lovely staff

I've had varied experiences here but generally the service is prompt and efficient. Staff are uniformed. Portions are just about large enough. Food quality and presentation is good; almost very good. A hard-surfaced dining space with harsh acoustics for anyone with mild tinnitus. Better than average, but not better than the Ivy Cafe 20 yards away. Probably a pound or two cheaper though.

We went for a Birthday, meal absolutely fine. It was very busy and the service was slow and I felt they should have more of an effort to feed the younger children before the adults. Saying that they were very nice and helpful and did not object to us having our own table decorations and cake.

I really like the atmosphere here and I appreciate the gluten-free menu. We had a good meal and enjoyed spending time together. Good job we were not in a hurry tho’.

La comida era muy buena, pero el servicio era absolutamente diabólico. Hicimos nuestro pedido comenzando con bebidas, que llegaron después de que nuestra comida y 3/11 eran incorrectos y debían ser devueltos. Muchos de los pedidos de alimentos eran incorrectos y tuvieron que modificarse ya que algunos artículos se anunciaron como agotados casi 20 minutos después del pedido. Muy decepcionado de haber elegido organizar mi desayuno de cumpleaños aquí. El gerente se disculpó y ofreció un Buck's Fizz a todos los invitados, pero no lo recomendaría.

Fuimos allí el martes para una cena de hermanos que todos disfrutamos. El joven camarero de Venezuela fue extremadamente educado y agradable y nos divertimos charlando con él en español, ya que todos pasamos varios años de nuestras vidas en Argentina. La comida era buena y sabrosa, se sirve rápidamente, la lista de vinos es adecuada y no es caro. En general, una buena experiencia y una Cote Brasserie que se puede recomendar fácilmente.

Very Disappointing Experience ...especially over Festive Christmas Season, food was awful and completely lack of french flavours...No decorations and extremely poor service...better to avoid

Christmas lunch with grandad, 2.30pm post rush hour, lumbered with nervous rookie waiter, bungling with our bubbles - where's the decorum for goodness sake. Things get better, good variety of French staples although nothing very adventurous. The steaks were good, fish stew average, my duck tasty but a tad too duckling. The puddings impressed, other than mine which was rudely small... the investors hand on portion control. Decent wine list. Service radically improved once Jacob stepped in. Applause. In short - solid, safe French fare with modest portions and rather immodest prices.

Good value for money, excellent food overall. Very pleased with all my friends enjoying the celebration dinner. Place to revisit.

El servicio, el ambiente y la comida fue excelente. El menú está enfocado y, aunque no es amplio, hay mucho para elegir. El servicio es profesional, puntual y competente. La comida es muy buena y, con razón, sujetador de comida francesa. (Por favor recuerda eso). En mi humilde opinión y experiencia, la comida es mucho mejor y más sabrosa que los restaurantes de alta gama que he visitado.

Last min decision as was in the area having drinks. Rump steak to dye for! my partner never spoke just tucked in and his face! he loved it and won’t stop telling everyone how nice it was.

Das Restaurant liegt sehr schön in Blackheath gelegen. Der Empfang war sehr zuvorkommend. Die Karte bietet eine gute Bandbreite an Gerichten. Der Service war freundlich und auch sehr flexibel. Wir wollten als Nachspeise Applecrumble, der aber nur auf der Mittagskarte stand. Trotzdem wurde uns Applecrumble gemacht.

Went for lunch and forgot the tdh menu doesn’t run on a weekend, but what we had was very tasty and not overpriced

Staff were helpful, food was great, Would have liked tap water without asking. Had to ask for vegetarian menu - it should have been offered. . Our second visit - will go back!

This restaurant is absolutely amazing not only are all the staff extremely professional and knowledgeable about everything from the food to the wine but they greet you with a smile every time.

I just moved to Canary Wharf and drove down to Blackheath. The village is very nice, especially compared to the surrounding neighborhoods.

Exceptional food scones were scrumptious would highly recommend eating there would go again definately
