This establishment is definitely open. Visited on 26th January. Very busy. Appeared to be only two staff available. One clearing tables and one dealing with a longish queue. I have to say that I was mesmerised by Jade. Her speed and accuracy in taking the orders and then completing the orders was something else. I have been in other Costa's with two or three staff serving and taking longer. The coffees as always of good quality. The loos and general cleanliness totally up to the mark. 10 out of 10 for all aspects and special mention again for Jade.

Always like to take a bike ride to this location. Sugar free vanilla latte is my favorite. Have had some other biscuits and bagels and are also amazing. Lovely patio to sit out and just enjoy the afternoon

My Brother-In-Law gets his coffee beans here and recommended. I was able to see Doug at work roasting the beans. Our favorite local coffee roasters. Tried a hot espresso latte and it was very good. Ended up buying a small bag of Snickerdoodle coffee in a small bag and fired up the Moccamaster and home the next day and it was very flavorful. You will love La Costa Coffee Roasting!

My favorite local coffee shop: high quality drinks without the crazy-high price tag. I recommend the honey nut latte or coffee ice blended. They also have a great rewards program: buy 10 get one free and a free drink on your real bday and half bday!

May have ordered the wrong things but my stale croissant and average cappuccino were not worth the detour.

Went on a business trip and went here all three days vanilla bean americano, subtle sweet so good and the pastries, tried and liked something different everyday and they had a jazz band one day! Great patio area so good!!

I tried many of the finest coffee places in greater San Diego. Hands down, La Costa Coffee Roasting is the Best! The quality of coffee, their variety, and the value at La Costa Coffee Roasting are all world class. And the staff know coffee. I’m so grateful to have finally discovered this place. I highly recommend if for the most discerning coffee enthusiast to the person looking for a great deal on outstanding coffee. This is the place!

This is what a coffee shop should be. Friendly staff and customers. Great ambiance and the smell of coffee is just lovely. Music always has the perfect coffeehouse vibe. Tea selection is vast and refreshing to see.

Our favorite local coffee roasters. The espresso is the best. Doug roasts all the beans on-site and he does a great job. Try a latte and homemade pastry. You will love La Costa Coffee Roasting!

A little noisy from the roaster, but otherwise a great place to sit with a laptop. Fast WiFi and outlets under the seats.

Sat outsidewith daughter she was dizzy got treated appallingly i had iced caramel latte with no caramel in she had tea in throw away cup a few others were treated bad too wont be returning.

Just been refurbished, nice and clean A BIG BUT though it's still very slow service and queing a lot, still you spend more time queing then eating your food nice staff but start using the two dispensers for drinks then one.

I have been going to LCR for years. It is a great casual environment. perfect for meeting a friend or even a date. Lots of seating indoors and out. I love love love coffee and their mocha is one of my all time favorites.

Don't buy coffee here unless you want to buy it here forever. Once you start, nothing else will be good enough.

I just love this place so much. The coffee (I recommend the guatamalan), honey nut latte, and vanilla bean americano are my favorites. They always have new drinks to try, and their iced teas are brewed fresh. So good! The ambiance, music, and coffee scent is great for studying or doing school work, too.

Fine place, good coffee you can see them roasting, lots of tea options, outdoor seating in the sun.

The smell inside is intoxicating if you enjoy coffee and tea. Owner Doug is the man. Clearly a master of his trade. Great service, fantastic coffees and awesome tea flavors. Visit this small business and you'll be quite enamored with it!

Great coffee. Very reasonable prices too, compared to other coffee houses. They roast their own beans which means the coffee is fresh and delicious. I generally get the cold brew, which is delicious and very inexpensive compared to other places. This is my local go-to for great coffee. They also have amazing cheese danishes. I believe they supply the pastries for the local coffee trucks too.

I haven't been here in a while as it is usually crowded. Today there weren't too many people and I was able to work for about 3 hours. However, about 2 hours into my visit a white woman comes to sit next to me. The coffee bean grinder decides that the sun must be bothering her but not me so he comes over to lower the shade and invites her to do it whenever she wants. Seriously?! Not sure if he was really just hitting on her but there was probably a better way to do that without making his actions appear discriminatory. The counter staff and baristas were friendly.

I'm from New Jersey visiting my brother and his family here in Carlsbad. He has a coffee bar maker that does everything except make a regular cup of coffee because it even puts a froth in regular coffee. He brought me to your coffee shop on Tuesday the 6th of September. The coffee was awesome, best I've had here since I've arrived. Thank you for just a good ole regular cup o' joe!

This company has been open for many years. I went today after not visiting the shop since pre-pandemic. Prices are lower than the competitors. Drink was average at best. Quality seems to have gone down. May go back if I’m the area but would not go out of my way to go here.

Came here yesterday with my dad. I went here a lot 7 or 8 years ago, so it was nice. It smelled the exact same. I got a brownie and apple juice like I always did. Tasted the exact same. Amazing overall.

Their Chai Tea Latte is awesome!

Been coming here since the early 2000’s. They just recently made their cups significantly smaller and used a LOT less mix in their amazing chai tea latte. It used to be the best but tastes so bland now all of a sudden. It makes me so sad because this has been my favorite coffee shop to go to for years. Such a shame :(

My folks love their Guatemala and Costa Rica blends - we drive from Rancho Penasquitos area to get coffee from them, and they are both very picky about their coffee (dad has even tried roasting his own). My cousin is also enamored of the wide selection they have of Monin syrups. La Costa doesn't push it as much, but they also have a great selection of loose leaf teas! It's difficult to find decaf blends and they offer the option to buy by the ounce.

Great local spot. I'll continue to get beans here, but with in store prices having gone up 50% recently (more expensive than even Birdrock now ..) I'll probably make my coffees at home from now on.

Well I know that I do, so when I walk in to @lacostacoffeeroasting and smell the roasting, grinding, and brewing of the beans while @official.raycharles is playing, only good things are about to happen! Although I wouldn’t describe their coffee selection as being extensive, no one on the review team for this Henry’s Take visit had anything but positive experiences. The service was terrible. There was 3 staff on but the male staff member was only using one hand due to injury and was next to useless. The female barrista made one drink at a time irrespective of it being 2 station barrista machine and multiple drinks orders. We spent longer queuing for our food and drink than it too to eat it. Would not recommend.

Eh, not the best espresso to be honest. Way too hot, wasn’t dialed in… felt similar to a Peets or Starbucks. Wouldn’t go again…

Wouldn’t let me give you 5/5 for some reason…. Visited today for a cake and drink . Service was excellent, staff friendly , professional and polite especially Mark. The place was spotless…. Definitely worth visiting and has become my favorite place of mine visit to chat with friends and see what half price cake they have 😂 Everyone loves cake 🍰

I haven't tried any other drinks besides their normal espresso ones such as the cappuccino and regular espresso shot.. but they are great tasting just by themselves. They have substitute flavors and Milks so you can customize it the way you want as well. Overall HIGHLY recommend

Wow! Great for having coffee and for coffee beans for home...and for learning about coffee. Nicest staff ever and they had a live jazz band! Will definitely be returning and supporting this wonderful establishment.

Writing this review after having just left on 2nd December 2020 around 4.10pm. I first walked in to find 2 young boys laughing about something on their phone with their backs turned away from the counter. After a few seconds they noticed me and took my order. I asked for a small terry's chocolate orange hot chocolate. I then gave my points card in and said to pay using the points. He then gave it me back and asked if i was paying cash or card when i had just told him i was using the points?! Clearly he wasn't listening! Next, the other young boy confirmed a terry's chocolate orange hot chocolate and started making it. A young girl came out and all three of them had their backs turned and started to gossip and have a laugh instead of making my drink while i was stood there waiting. Meanwhile a number of other customers came in and were left waiting. I finally got my drink and i headed back to work - none of the other customers had been served when i left. I took a sip of my drink only to realise they had given me the after eight hot chocolate! Not only did i receive horrible customer service, i also wasted my points on a drink i did not want/ask for and that i couldn't drink because i do not like mint! Absolutely shocking service! I have been a loyal costa customer for many years but this has made me reconsider going to starbucks instead. It only takes one horrible experience to put someone off. Really ruined my experience after usually receiving such warm and personal service.

Being a regular user of the costa at the Croft who have excellent procedures in place re social distancing I expected the same here. What a dissapointing experience no one monitors the door just walked in picked our sandwiches no tables available. Told to then queue outside or take away. We waited till table became available. This had a perfunctory wipe at best. Tray was not clean the floor needed a good mop. The barista put her fingers in the cup when getting them. Didnt feel safe here. Hygiene standards poor.

visited Costa today . Staff getting moaned at by grumpy customers for having to stick to regulations during hard times . Must say they do a brilliant job and always smile when it must be hard to not want to shout and scream . As usual the food was red hot and superb drinks . Well done to the staff for keeping their heads with a smile as well
