Costa Coffee in Scottish Borders

Very little food available. 3 halloumi toasties. 2 tuna melts and some sausage rolls! 12 o’clock not the end of the day. Girls serving we’re lovely and enjoyed our coffee as always

Says online that it's open just went there and it's closed

Slow service very little food on display then found out food was still in the boxes waiting to be opened

Arrived at 9am and not open ? Then we see one member of staff rushing in late at about 5 past 9. Then we went to order and said we were sitting in. Asked for a medium Mocha to be told they only do large today and was given a takeaway cup. I'm not sure were the cups are? Extremely bad service.

Nice and clean👌 and staff very friendly. We ordered two Iced Whipped Caramel Lattes, only to be told the equipment that does the whipping wasn't working. This is the 3rd dissapointment in three different Costas in one week. Faulty equipment, card reader not working so cash only and very slow service in another. If the area manager for Scotland/North East reads this, you have work to do !! PS, no hand soap in men's toilet at Gala.

Visit Costa often and always lovely helpful staff. We were in today ‘ it was very busy’ and only 2 staff working, poor girls trying to do everything as it’s normally done with 4 working. They did such a fantastic job but we felt so sorry for them and don’t feel it’s acceptable by the management. Very well done girls. ☕️🧁

Often overcrowded,long queue, claustrophobic

3 on at lunch on Friday. I’ve been waiting in line for 10 mins already and it’s just soooo slooow. Roll on Starbucks when it opens.

Set inside Next. Good choice of food. Can be v busy, quieter after 1.30

The coffee is good. This cafe is much better since they allowed more space between the tables, it was crammed before and not enjoyable. The coffee is very good and hot, today the tables were not cleaned in the 30 minutes we were there.The staff are pleasant and clean, but today they failed to comply with the covid regulations. There were a few coffee/tea stains on the window cill This place sits above a chain store and is a bit restricted in access, especially for wheelchair users. There is a lift which helps. This place has gone down hill recently, oops.

It was an exceptional latte just the way i love it

Fairly clean & tidy Costa with friendly staff. Tried the new caramel vitamin latte, I drank it - but it was very very sweet I will have my usual skinny latte in the future! Only qualms was receiving a dirty knife!!

Manager telling customers lies about ex employee and causing them to find her new job and try to fight them, management need a new huge change, P.s the customers a bigger man and the ex employee is a female, will not be visiting this establishment again until the management changes

My wife and I paid a visit for a coffee and a cake and the cafe was spotlessly clean. Good Covid procedures. On our visit staff were regularly cleaning the tables and also offering to help elderly customers to help them to their tables with their order. Coffee piping hot and tasty

Very nice , needs more gluten free products .But it's a good start to re energise Galashiels , hope lots of people use it .

No acknowledgement on arrival. I had to clarify that they were open. After this, it was much better.

Walked in at half 4, stood for 3 minutes without being served even though staff kept walking pass me, then prompted them by asking if I could get a takeaway coffee and was told they were closed even though they shut at 5pm.

Was asked to leave 30 minutes before closing. The manager came round with the mop and told everyone to leave. I had just bought a coffee. When I was paying the 50% off eat out to help out wasn't applied, so I had to ask about it and was treated like I was being awkward, they apparently couldn't do a refund so they took money out of the tip jar to give me! I didnt appreciate being shamed and put down. It was within minutes of that she came and asked us to leave... just crazy bad attitude. Which is ashame because the young man that had served me earlier was very friendly and jovial and a good, bright person. I really hope working under negative people doesn't dampen his spirit. Someone like him should be managing their store.

First Costa coffee in five months!

Nice to see you open again. Been missing my Costa fix! Slower service because of social distancing and fewer staff in but thats to be expected. Great coffee this morning- thank you Jill and team

This place is lovely. The static caravan is beautiful inside and spotlessly clean still looks like your the first resident to stay in them. Hot tub lovely and warm also clean to the highest standard. Christmas tree was a nice touch wasn't expecting that. First class

Rude staff - I was served by a lady wearing a managers badge so it doesn’t say a lot for their staff training programmes. Visited at around 2pm on a Friday and there was barely a cake to be seen in their cabinet, coffee was weak and tepid.

Could do with being a bigger shop

Actually love their chocolate Tiffin! The coffee and attention to turning over tables could improve.

normally I would grate it 4 or 5. But today I told them there was a fly on the pastries and they did nothing about it just looked at me with blank faces and a shrug of the head. This was Costa at Next Galashiels.

Alot of the drinks were really expensive and there was a small jar of heart sweets for 5 pounds. Also the service wasn't great

Love the coffee good choice of snacks, however trying to get a seat at local costa can be difficult as it is a small cafe and it is very busy.

Not great. Who needs a massive cup of coffee.

Not impressed if tbis had been my first visit to a costa that would have been it .dirty tables at least a quarter of tbe tables had dirty pots and trays on them . No cutlery or napkins provided and staff who didnt seem interested , very dissapointed . Only hope they new shop in Hawick will be better

Small but perfectly formed with bright interior, pleasant staff and quick service. Very popular – and as the number of seats is limited you may struggle to find a table, especially around lunchtime when it gets quite crowded.

This coffee house serves very good coffee and I always ask for extra hot and that's what I enjoy. There are a good variety of cakes to choose from.

I am the great lover of Costa coffee. That's my favorite place to be inn for a coffee, and some lite bites. I almost visit every week.

I usually go in for a coffee I love to have a coffee after my meals it's one of the best in Galashiels

Visit here for either a sit down cuppa or takeaway one at least once or twice a week. One of the best Costas I have been in. Staff are very friendly, polite and nothing is too much bother. Place is clean and great coffee. Cakes are also delicious!

Decent-ish coffee it's a costa, nothing more nothing less.

A good motorbike stop to/from Edinburgh since you can see your motorbike below and the loos are good. Coffee not bad either.

This isn't the best costa in the world, or in the borders, so not sure what others have been raving about. Perhaps we visited on an off day? Staff were barely friendly, more interested in moving you on really, and the coffee was so so. Having said that, this place is frequently bursting at the seams, so maybe it was an off day. I'll give it one more go.

Whilst the standard remains pretty consistent with all Costa outlets, this is not the most relaxing of outlets - the tables are too numerous for the floor space, and at certain times of the day are packed with people spending ages over their chosen drink whilst gabbling away on their mobile phones.

Went for a coffee with my disabled husband walked in very busy a couple got up from a table and walked away sat my husband down and went to counter turned around to find my husband being told to move by the manager telling him that table was taken by a large group he pointed out it was empty when he sat down but still told to move as my husband cannot stand for very long e left I went back and asked the manager for a complaint form he started shouting and told me to leave he was rude and a bully I am 5ft pensioner he was large over 6ft and waving his arms about.

I love to go to Costa's in Galashiels ( above Next Shop ) - its always busy so be aware you might have to wait will you are served , the staff are friendly and efficient and the coffee is reasonably priced - they do nice cakes and snacks - I recommend you try their toasties ( Ham and Cheese is excellent ) - adequate seating

Coffee was good but only thing is I have bad hands and they serve the coffee in cups with the handles with tiny holes in them. Ended up having to hold my cup with both hands with one underneath. If wanting to attract older clientele maybe use mugs or cups that are not quite as heavy and larger handles. Carrot cake was delicious and plenty cakes to choose from.

Usually go here for a good strong cup of flat white, we have tryed most coffee shops in Galashiels but this is the best, staff brilliant

Had my Karrie and I was happy. Great service, Great people. Bring a Costa to Hawick please. Plenty of empty Buildings.
