Costa Coffee in Angus

Hubby always uses Costa if in Montrose. Coffee and hot chocolate very tasty. Downside is the long queues waiting to get served.

Had a mocha and an espresso. Both tasted nice. The disappointing part was the customer service. Staff just seemed chaotic and all over the place. It was so busy that you couldn’t even get a space to sit. One word to describe this Costa Coffee was mayhem.

Won't be going back which is a great pity but after yesterday's events it was way of the wire. We were having our coffee and low and behold this squawking member of staff let out this screaming and laughing that would put Alison Hammond to shame.it was disturbingly weird. It seems the staff are a way bit to immature the oldest one with hair tied up was excruciating.and the stout laddie clearing the tables was as bad they were mocking a member of the public in buying a costa coffee for wee bit peace like we do. The members of staff were horrid and slouching about while place needed tables cleared.it was bang out of order. The laughing hyena even boasted she might get reported but doesn't care. Well nor do wee as we will spend our money in the new Starbucks much more pleasant and not full of bullying staff. Sad but we used to like costa montrose.Time for serious management in there.

A nice place to go for coffee and cake.

I visited Costa in Montrose on 15 Oct 2023 with my 2 adult daughters. Much to my embarrassment, I dropped the tray resulting in one of the hot chocolates spilling all over the table. The male Barista was over in minutes to clean it up, with no fuss and offered to refresh our drinks. Very impressed !!

I do like a Costa Coffee. The toastie and the tart I had were good too.

Haven't been for ages but a fab flat white n lemon curd tart. And friendly staff!

Hot water urn or machine broken so they couldn’t do any drinks with hot water. Not sure why they couldn’t boil water in the milk frothing jugs. Apart from that it’s a normal Costa

Staff wouldn't toast Panatone !! Only warmed it up with wrapper still on. Indoor and outdoor seating.

Best coffee ever and toasties to die for!

Lovely wrap heated up for me. Couple of druggies came in later. Didn't sit near me thankfully.

Lovely Costa, great coffee and nice staff. They have indoor and outdoor seating as well as toilets. The shop is clean, tidy and comfy - recommend!

£4.10 for a coffee and some ice cubes. When will I learn. Coffee more expensive than crack. Over priced nonsense

Another Costa that doesn't have salt n pepper, and can't get it, despite head office telling me they can order sachets.

Was not up to the standard that other costa coffee cafe I have visited needs refurbished ,would not get even near the environment, service which we recieve from our local costa cafe in coatbridge

I normally love Costa cafes but this one is horrid… The staff are so rude and the place is filthy and unkempt. Outside the cafe is filthy. Seems Costa don’t take pride in their surroundings. I wish I had paid more attention to the warning state of the exterior before going in. The older women who served us was really annoyed that I was looking at the drinks menu .. she shouted at me quite forcefully saying the drinks in here are the sane as every Costa so what do you want ?!!!! Another member of staff pushed my husband out of the way to refill the merchandise counter.. SO RUDE… who trained these rude individuals? As I type, the cafe is empty the staff are huddled up chatting and almost lying across the counter having a rest, completely ignoring dirty tables full of dirty trays of crockery. Shame on you Costa! Montrose branch has put me off Costa altogether. Think I’ll try my luck at Starbucks in future..

I'm not sure what the soya milk is made from, or the coconut milk, but it tastes rank.

Visited yesterday, the outside seating area is filthy, litter, debris, rusty tables and chairs no very inviting on a sunny day in Montrose

Staff are always do nice, welcoming and chatty. Efficient service even at peak times. Excellent customer service always.

Very nice Mango & Lemon tea! Recommended by the barista - glad I took it instead of Earl Grey.

Always buy my coffee from here - great selection of beans or ground to suit any machine. Far superior to any supermarket coffee

Usual Costa food and coffee but I ended up with a bit of a mess with sauce running from my roll. The tiny napkins were totally inadequate and replacements were nowhere to be found. Chairs were badly stained. Toilet had no soap and mirror had fallen off the wall. This place needs an overhaul!

Coffee arguably better than the new competition across the road. Seems strange that that the branch is not open a little later in the evening

Pleasant staff, premises clean and tidy

Cafe is always clean and consistent. Sadly though the only gluten free food is small pre packed and over priced brownie, flapjack and millionaire shortbread.

We went and got a take away coffee before getting a train. Very convenient shop. It was good coffee.

Visit here most Friday's with a friend. Great service, clean and friendly. Certainly a busy Costa.

Thank you to all the staff especially Jane who were so kind and helped me so much after I fell outside when leaving Costa Montrose at 5 pm last Friday 19th I did end up at Ninewells and had broken a small bone in my left hand no plaster just a splint and I an right handed. Cannot thank you enough for all the help you gave me and always en joy your wonderful coffee and cake when shopping will be back again soon. Much appreciated Norma MCLEAY Brechin

Great place, the food tasted perfect. The lovely lady with blonde hair behind the counter asked if I wanted the panini’s heated up separately (one was tuna, the other was tomato and cheese, perfect place for vegans). Just overall wonderful place to go for a bite, friendly staff and great coffee.

My nephew and I popped in to Costa in Montrose after driving down from Aberdeen for some food and drinks. The service is great; the girls were friendly and welcoming. The store was spotless, very clean and well laid out. We had toasted paninis and coffee/hot chocolate, everything was perfect. I was really impressed with the high standard of cleanliness in the toilets. As a woman public toilets can be an awful experience, so it was a pleasure walking in to a spotless, well maintained toilet for a change. The girl also asked my nephew if he wanted his vegan panini heated alongside/seperate from my tuna panini, most places don't ask or care. They were well stocked with a great range of toasties/paninis/sandwiches and pastries to choose from. Will definitely be back.

Good coffee and food service could be a bit quicker, other than that all ok

I always got to the Broxden Costa in Perth as that's where I'm from, which is super friendly and quick. I couldn't believe how rude they were in here. I actually got ignored for the person behind me, and the assistant didn't even acknowledge me when I asked something three times. And the slowness is unreal! They just aren't really bothered! Won't be back. Ever!

Really friendly staff, my two young boys really enjoyed themselves and were made to feel welcome.

Another bad experience here. Everytime I come here the same female member of staff has something negative to say. Today she moaned about me helping myself to kitchen towels even though the kitchen roll is sitting at the front desk and the barista was making my coffee at the time. I still apparently need permission to ask for a bit of kitchen roll. Its petty and rude and it's always the same woman. I won't be back to this place. I just find her rude every time I come and not a pleasant place to come for a coffee I won't be back this place in montrose.

Quiet, at this time of the morning, pleasant staff, quick service.

Most of time really good staff very nice and helpful but today the cooker was broken witch is fear enough but should be sigh and my drink was far to minty so was my hot chocolate and latte was very strong do it was it’s Usually really nice.

It's Costa - good everywhere, would visit more often if we could take our dog with us!

Thought we would pop in for a quick brunch on our travels through Montrose. Not sure what was worse, the staff or cleanliness! Staff member initially appeared helpful though after asking her to clean the table she quickly became aloof and constantly said she could not hear us. I then asked her a few questions regarding Montrose and was quickly told she was new to the area and couldn't be of anymore use! Think she meant that in general as Avril ? (mid 20’s & glasses) then choose to ignore us. This Costa requires more polite staff and in general a deep clean. Not impressed.

Would prefer kinder staff but the drinks are usually nice. If they mess up they do not enjoy being asked to re make the drinks.

Frequently visit for a coffee. Nicely warm atmosphere

After a long working week we decided to treat ourselves to breakfast at Costa. When we got there the shelves were empty. There was literally 2 bacon rolls left. We grabbed them and made our way to the counter. We always ask for cold brew and they never seem to have any. Even though it is on the menu!! We had fruit juices instead and sat at a rather sticky table with a rather dirty looking floor. The place was in need of a seriously good clean. We got some cakes to take away which were nice to have later in the day.

Poor choice of food, fridge low on stock, flies in cake cabinet, rude manager. Toilets not as clean as they should be, everything wiped with a wet cloth but not dried off so streaks show on everything.

Not great visit today, service was ok. But table not very clean and sticky. Cutlery not very clear Ruby Hot Chocolate was ok. My Wife Americano did not taste great not even like coffee.

Plenty space inside and some chairs to sit out. Coffee was put into my reusable cup no problem.

We went to costa in Montrose and ordered at the counter and unfortunately we had to wait a while . Several customers who ordered after us got served before us, when we asked where our order was they made up an excuse. Just own up and say you missed the order and apologies

It was really good pleasant atmosphere and friendly

After negotiating the checking in system, which is right beside the counter and would probably be better located nearer the entrance, I passed my uncooked toastie to the assistant, who was less than friendly. I had to ask her to repeat herself twice and instead of speaking more clearly, she proceeded to shout very loudly through the screen at me, attracting the attention of everyone around. I was being asked if I wanted a drink with my food and I'm sure if she had picked up a cup I would have deduced what she was trying to communicate. I understand the difficulty that screens and masks bring but shouting was not the way to resolve the issue. Some staff training required here I think. To add to the disappointment the toastie was uncooked on one side.

Staff lovely and helpful. Toilets always immaculate. Great to see all the Christmas flavours again!

A typical Costa Coffee cafe with a far from intertesting decor but the service and coffee were very good.

Most staff working here are very helpful and friendly but I'm afraid the manageress comes across quite rude and unapproachable not good for business as it would put customers off returning, a very annoying problem they have in Montrose is early morning they have no milk why would a coffee shop have no milk for opening time ???

Standard Costa outlet with all the usual fare. Easy parking on outskirts of Montrose. Not too busy on this visit and tables cleared efficiently by cheery staff.

We went in for a toasty and a cup of coffee. There was 3 of us. Tables were sticky. Cups left lying about and the floor needed cleaning. Wasent wroth the money. And we're won't be going back.

I was at two Costa's to-day and twice at one of them, didn't say which one/ or was too quick in going on to survey. One was Forfar and the other Montrose. I would give them both five stars, as Montrose had locals and international staff they were just as polite and nice to speak to. Well done Costa's

Great atmosphere and brilliant staff

We visit Costa premises all around the country and abroad - never before have we been told we couldn't be served a coffee because our mugs were dirty. Now, I could understand if they had dirt and grime all over them and were clearly unhygenic but all they had in them were a few drips of the earlier coffee we had drunk. Now really are they saying they will only sell you one coffee then you need to go home and clean your mug before having a second cup!? They did eventually serve us but we had to push a little. This is nuts! Incidentally the coffee was still a very good Costa coffee. ;)

Good coffee, pleasant staff but my observation was that the cafe was in need of a clean, I was here around 09:30 and the floor,coffee machine and the working areas were in need of a wipe down, appreciate it’s a busy cafe but I got the impression it may not have been cleaned from the day before. A welcome facility for Montrose.

A new branch situated in small retail park on Aberdeen side of Montrose. Well worth a visit new ideas in for Christmas Winter Warmers.Not noticed their breakfast and lunch menu before. Friendly staff.

Despite being busy , service was excellent and friendly

White hot chocolates are amazing! I opted for almond milk and was kindly informed that slthey cannot guarantee there will be no traces of dairy in my product due to the equipment they use. This was not an issue for me as I dont have an allergy, but I was glad to be informed. I felt the staff cared. Decor is funky and the soft arm chairs are nice an comfy

Near closing but choice still available and friendly staff. They need to consider staying open for another hour or two, the shops alongside do that.

A miracle -a Costa with clean toilets. Well done. Great coffee, staff & service BUT your outside area has really let you down. Needs a good scrub & unfortunately irresponsible dog owner left a deposit!!!
