Costa Coffee - 123 Allerton Road in Liverpool

Costa coffee allerton road the end near allerton library , is totally filthy and dirty . Papers on the floor and behind the till . Tables uncleared too . I’ve just been there now , for the 2nd time and found it in the sane state as the first time I went - I went back today as thought first time may have just been a one off , but definitely not. Definitely WON’T be coming here again , so dirty .

Ordered a cheese and tomato toasties at £5. Hardly any tomato if at all and only toasted 1 side. The Tea was weak. Noticed beans now are 10 before a free one. Staff were fine and place clean but beeds to up the ante.

The rudest experience at a costa. Gave attitude when I was trying to scan the app and shouted “the ovens off” when I was just browsing the food. Also just threw my drink down, didn’t even look at me or specify it was my drink despite a few of us waiting for drinks

A quiet morning coffee with friends was just the job! Pleasant surroundings, friendly staff.

A very pleasant surprise to be served by two,(sorry),older ladies,really nice attitude,very polite with smiles on their faces as opposed to the usual looks of disdain you get from younger members of staff,attentive without being overly so,served as soon as the previous customer had departed,not ignored at all,please start employing older people as opposed to the younger generation,this way you will get returning custom,thank you

Waited ages for a flat white that was really just milk the stumpy orange girl with the fake smile served me . I'm a costa regular but won't be back to this one with its dirty tables and slow service

Barista with tatoos. If she smiled would make my day. Threw the teaspoon onto the tray. Breakfast teas were weak and at £2.35 each overpriced. Was due a free drink but had to buy 2 teas to get another one. That's not right. Said come back tomorrow for free drink. Anyhow went back for free green tea. Not a smile from that same batista. Cafe is worn in in need of refurbishment and virtually empty. No surprise if they have batista like her.

Just paid £2.90 for a flat white, then an extra 25p to sit in and drink it!! So £3.15 total, not too bad as the coffee is quite nice, but I have paid an extra 25p to sit in a messy coffee shop, there are no customers waiting and for the last 20 minutes I've sat here not one table has been cleared.

A very cosy cafe. Me and my mum came all the way from town to drink at this Costa because it was so lovely.

Get some staff, Costa. Two little girls serving this morning, and a queue almost out of the door. After 10 mins, the lady in front of me left. The queue barely moved. After 15 mins, and getting no closer to being served, I left too. All that time in the line allowed me to calculate that nipping round to Tesco and buying a cafetière, milk and coffee was so much more economical (and quicker). I feel really sorry for the staff on shift this morning.

As with all Costa could do with a re vamp, still very popular.

Wonderful place for a quick stop or to chill out/work. The staff were incredibly polite, quick with orders and had a smile on their faces. Lots of room inside and outside to sit down, will go again.

This is my favourite Costa around Allerton, its bright and spacious inside, the same familiar staff are always running it well, and it's well stocked/consistent every time. ☺

Service not professional, wet tray, plates with coffee spots and spoons were not clean, staff non friendly. When asked a staff member for a clean everything the other asked in front of me what he needs, other staff told he asking for clean plates and spoons and handled everything without apologies or any professional communication This Costa definitely is not accepting diversity.

Train your staff the meaning of accepting diversity by friendly service. Tray was wet, plates and spoons not clean, told staff and they changed without apology or explanation.

Normally a very good Costa, but I was disappointed this time. I was served by the manager who asked if I wanted my coffee smooth or bitter. I said I want the normal one. I asked for a receipt and saw I'd paid for Champions Roast, which I never asked for. Up-selling is taken too far at this place. The manager was rude, but the other staff member was nice, which is why I'm giving two stars and not one.

Coffee was tasteless, I complained to Costa and they sent me a voucher, went to Speke for another one, just as tastless. Long live Cafe Nero and Starbucks!

No social distancing rules. Staff remove their masks while making the coffees. People stand around when they shouldn't be drinking in the cafe. queues are massive at lunchtimes, everyone spaced a few cms apart in the queues and many with no masks. I would say risk of high level of Covid 19 - buyers beware as you were warned !!

Pleasant staff & very friendly atmosphere.

This Costa different to the one I would normally visit however the staff were pleasant explained they had a large order to complete so the wait could be a little longer. The staff also asked people to wait outside as there were too many inside people did this. In fact if I have a complaint there were 3 girls approx 14 years old NO masks worn not sure whether they were asked why as I was leaving with my coffee they were all chatting were they exempt?????

Given the current situation, it's rare to go inside a coffee place, and this isn't one of my favourites. But the week before Christmas we found ourselves there so went in. It happened to be the last day of the school term and it was overrun with teenagers from the local comps who treated it like they were still in their school bubbles. Swapped presents, moved from table to table, popped in and out of the place greeting friends, and the staff were too busy serving to do anything. Tables didn't get emptied fast enough, which meant that people were standing trying to work out what to do while still maintaining social distancing. Not one of the better ones.

Met a friend today, was taken back how grubby the place was, toilets stink, everywhere needs a deep clean. My cutlery was dirty too, would never go again, these places rest on being popular, cant think why they are, taking the @# !? out of customers.

Not sure if due to current restrictions but couldn't get either a toasted tea cake or any toast but well compensated with a delicious toasted ham and cheese sandwich.

Today some low life stole the staffs tips from a cup on the counter and walked out leaving the staff totally stunned they thought it was the noise of someone putting monies in !!!

Needs a update. Beginning to look a little shabby. Seats are grubby and are not looking their best. Costa coffee is not cheap. The surroundings should live up to the prices.

Disappointed. Get some proper staff in there. Got my ordered wrong when I asked for a milk free alternative. Croissant tasted and looked like it was a week old. Not good!

Nice place. Great coffee and staff ok. Toilets need attention and cleaning as there was a lot of paper on the floor and wet on the floor. I like the hot chocolate and it's made well. I cant wait for the Christmas drinks as this is where Costa come into their own. The different chocolate range is lovely. Wish they had a Costa in Belle Vale Shopping centre. I would be in my eliment.

Awful WiFi remember dialup? That was better

I’m a regular here. Spacious and bright, with the normal Costa selection. I’m not a huge fan of their standard coffee grain, as it’s bland, but it’s a nice quiet place to hang out, with free WiFi, and I like it. It’s one of the few branches where the staff usually remember to give you a glass of water with your espresso and usually get the order correct, but that’s probably because I always go when it’s quiet.

Can be a bit chaotic behind the counter. The girl with the crazy makeup and eyebrows is always super friendly and happy which lifts the atmosphere.

A great Costa. Been here a few times. Today it was very busy, however the staff were excellent in managing the numbers and orders that I had to write a review. Spacious inside, good food options even for vegetarians, and service was friendly and efficient.

The manager was rude to her staff, there was obviously no appreciation for her staff and she thought she was so much better than them in the way she was speaking to them. She was also rude to customers, no time for either the staff or customers. Very poor management shown. Feel sorry for her staff

Probably my most visited cafe I go to in the UK to get tea. That might be because of the abundance of Costa coffee shops around the UK. Nevertheless, they offer a very decent English Breakfast tea. Prices are a bit high, but that's the UK for you.

I like Costa, i'll happily pay premium coffee price for a good product and service, but unfortunately there's a number of their outlets that seem to be on the way down, I assume driven by poor local management or franchise ownership. To prove the balance..., on my positive list is Albert Dock, Liverpool, with a good efficient team, attitude, restaurant cleanliness, and selection of products. Lime St railway station Costa is a variation on this, with an unbelieveably quick and efficient take-away service to acknowledge its a station, but all done with a smile and efficiency. Allerton Rd is neither of these examples.. On multiple occasions its fallen short with luke warm latte, no bread for toast by mid mornings, no napkins, dirty tables and yet again a loyalty card machine that doesn't work...
