This was our first visit here and will definitely be back. The staff were so friendly and there was a lovely relaxed atmosphere with no pressure to eat and vacate your table as you get in some places . The food was fantastic and we all thoroughly enjoyed our visit

Fantastico, Wow I’ve dined at Cosa many times and never one had a bad meal. The building is big a spacious but also allows you to have some privacy. For my last visit I chose the calzone, well it covered the dinner plate. The flavours were outstanding. The wine helped it to go down. A very happy customer who will be returning.

Excellent Italian restaurant, fine fare, generous portions at good prices, lovely spacious, decorous surroundings, wonderfully happy and attentive staff. Don’t wait until you’ve overdosed on fish and chips. There’s no down side.

Booked on a quiet Tuesday night ,arrived 15 minutes early ,very polite friendly greeting shown to quiet table as requested. Order for drinks and mains taken very quickly we were planning to try dessert but we were stuffed. Food ,service and surroundings perfect at all times highly recommended and if back In Whitby will book again without hesitation...

Excellent food and attentive service

Probably the best restaurant in Whitby, lovely food, friendly service, great atmosphere, nothing not to like. We have visited this restaurant a number of times when visiting Whitby and we have never been let down or disappointed. The staff are fantastic, helpful and very friendly, food excellent and real value for money. A must for anyone eating out in Whitby

Booked prior to coming to whitby, good job people being turned away, which says it all .Good menu fast service nice staff and not expensive all in all great.

This was always our first port of call when visiting Whitby and we always look forward to our visits. First disappointment was steaks have been removed from the menu, had we have known we would not have booked. My partner plumped for the sea bass which she said was good but my tagliatelle was a let down, a very bland dish with no flavour at all. We had Tiramisu for desert which again was a shadow of its former self, no tall glasses and a home made taste, looked and tasted like a supermarket offering. The only really good things were the excellent bottle of Valpolicella and the friendly staff although we did note there wasn't a single Italian among them. Feels like its not really run by Italians any more and has lost its flair as a result. At £110 for 2 of us it was poor value and it will be a while before we revisit.

Having seen a review on " The Yorkshireman"0 channel we decided to book a table on our one night away in Whitby. We were showed to a table for two on the mezzanine. The service initially was a bit slow but once the young man took over it was great. Starters we had were mushrooms and prawns both really tasty. Then I had the putanesca linguine and hubby had the penne gorgonzola. The flavours were incredible. We were absolutely delighted with our choice of restaurant and would definitely return when next in Whitby.

Lovely greeting, nice table and we had a drink before our meal. The service was great and we were right next to the place where the food comes out - so it was piping hot ! We both had prawns for starters in a spicy sauce then pasta - I requested my olives be pitted if possible and this was no trouble - all the food tasted delicious The wine was also good despite them not having the Chianti which was our first choice The bill came to over £100 for two of us without dessert Was there anything which could have improved the experience ? Maybe a bit more bread with the starter for the sauce or at the beginning and somewhere to hang my coat I may have missed this though All in all it was a place we will look forward to returning to when we are in Whitby

What a fabulous find in Whitby. Our last day of a lovely holiday and we were looking for something different from the usual fish and chips. I would highly recommend booking a table as the restaurant was heaving. One of our party is gluten free and the choices were amazing, not usually found in an Italian restaurant. Our starters were excellent, recommend the mushrooms, very tasty and full of flavour. On to our mains and the portions were very generous. Pizza and pasta were top notch, I had the lamb which was delicious. The service was amazing, Shelly was particularly good, very attentive and full of Yorkshire charm. If you live in the town or only visiting, you must try this place.

Had a lovely evening at Cosa Nostra with some excellent vegetarian food - the butternut squash gorgonzola risotto was perfectly balanced in texture and flavour, would recommend to anyone! The fig and goat's cheese starter and the focaccia were also delicious, and there was even a non-alcoholic peach Bellini that tasted properly peachy!

Fantastic food & very reasonable on price. Advise you book as it is very popular.

What a find! The food was excellent, as was the service. The ambience was great, an amazing building on different levels -formerly a Friends' Meeting House. Would highly recommend and advise booking in advance.

Visited for a 40th birthday meal. The restaurant is stunning. Staff professional but so helpful and friendly. Between four of us we had starters of truffle and pancetta garlic mushrooms, cheesy garlic bread, insalata caprese salad. All beautiful. Mains of salami diavola pizza, duck special, lamb main and a calzone. Also a normal garlic bread to share. Service and food completely faultless. Staff went above and beyond. Lovely touch with a birthday candle in the sticky toffee pudding. 10/10 definitely recommend and would return

Always had nice italian food here. The pizzas, the pasta is always nice. I usually have to pick between a starter or a dessert as I'm usually stuffed after two courses. Me and the better half go at least once a year on our anniversary. Never had a bad experience. And the staff are always well mannered and have that personal touch. Update: just been again I had spaghetti carbonara and a garlic bread this time, it was lovely as always. Made to perfection and perfect portion sizes. Would still completely recommend.

Absolutely superb! Is this the best restaurant in Whitby? Amazing food and very helpful friendly service. On a cold Thursday winters night in December this was the only place busy I could see and there's obviously a good reason the food was superb.

Love this Italian been a few times when staying in Whitby. This time on a Thursday in November and it was still busy so recommend booking. Young staff but all friendly, bubbly and helpful. Always a sure sign of a good restaurant how busy it is, looked to be pretty much full. Casa nostra has a nice feel and ambience. The menu is somewhat limited in terms of options. The food on offer seems well put together and if good quality. Unfortunately the pizzas are not fully authentic Neapolitan but still with nice ingredients and tasty. The creme brulee is really good and definitely worth trying.
