Corvi's in Falkirk

First time having a fish supper from this place. Orders are made on the spot which means each meal is fresh. Lovely chips too. Way better than Golden Chip. Wish they did Southern Fried Chicken.

Just had a fish supper from Corvi’s and it was one of the best I’ve tasted in a long time. Everything was cooked fresh in front of you. Lovely polite staff, very friendly. I would recommend this restaurant/take away to everyone. Thank you Corvi’s for a great lunch.

A wee quaint chip shop in the heart of Bo'ness with lovely staff. We had read about it before we went and were looking forward to trying their Broon Fish suppers and they didn't disappoint.

The food was outstanding and seeing as it has so much history you must be proud ❤️ thank you all and the attentive young man.

Myself, Sister and Daughter visited yesterday for a quick lunch. Food was freshly made to order, all of us thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend.

It has been a few years since we ate in Corvi’s . The restaurant was quiet and we were served quickly. We order tea, coffee and two small haddock suppers. The food was freshly made but we found the plates too small. As the haddock overlapped and the plates were cold. We enjoyed our meal but at the end of mine I found a black hair under my fish. It was too late to complain. I realise this can happen but it is so off putting. "

Excellent fish and chips were had in this long term family business. It had such good reviews we gave it a try and were not disappointed. (In fact, much better than a recent visit to Anstruther!) Thank you for the great service too. Warm, friendly, responsive staff. And the lovely Hippodrome Cinema is only a short walk away!

Corvi’s is such a delight! To read the history of the families ownership of the business for over a hundred years was brilliant. There can’t be many who could make such a claim to fame. We had a couple of fish suppers which were absolutely delicious, really I think it was the best I’ve ever had. Highly recommended!

Went a drive to bo,Ness today from Coatbridge went into corvis I had fish supper with peas and bread and butter and wife had smoked sausage supper and fried mushrooms both had a lovely pot of tea and was absolutely delicious staff are really nice to thanks corvis well be back when we are back in the area

I've been visiting Corvi's for a few years now and it's definitely my favourite chip shop. Really superb food cooked to order, with chips that taste as good as chips can. They're cooked the right way in a classic fryer and take me right back to how the chips tasted from my local chippie 50 years ago. Very friendly owners and staff and a place where I especially enjoy sitting in, for an excellent meal in a fantastic old style chip restaurant. I can't recommend Corvi's highly enough !

Corvi’s has been around since 1896 and there is a very good reason for this! It is the best fish and chip shop that I have ever come across. We regularly do the 40 mile round trip and it never disappoints. Everything is cooked fresh to order including the new menu additions of onion rings and battered mushrooms both of which are crispy and delicious. We always sit in but it also does takeaway.

Came through from Edinburgh to visit Kinniel Museum and go on the 1 history walk which was fab. Finished up in Boness and visited the Corvi for the first time. Welcomed with big smiles by all the staff, very tasty, hot food at a very reasonable price. Would highly recommend. We went early at 4.30 and glad we did as it got very busy only 30 minutes later, obviously very popular.

Knew about it for yrs but only got down to try it tday and so glad I did as it was absolutely beautiful Fish, crispy batter and pure white flakes of haddock that was so fresh and all cooked to order and cheaper than any other chippy I've been in...!!. Will be back real soon. Just to ad the people were also so nice and very pleasant. A real must visit for Fish & Chip lovers. Best of all no queues like over in over priced Anstruther..

I was a walk in for some takeaway fish and chips. Excellent service and the fish concerned was fresh and with tasty perfectly cooked batter. Ditto with the chips. Also purchased some fresh ice cream. It's great to see such long established, family run enterprises still on the go. Could not complain about any aspect - recommended.

My family paid a visit to check it out, it is a very busy establishment. It's a very traditional cafe with wooden tables and chairs it was cold had to keep our coats on.Waitress very nice nothing to much trouble. The fish and chips were pretty average I have had better, all in all it was ok but nothing special.

Set near the steam railway so a good place to visit after a nice train ride. The building i interesting in itself and worthy of inspection. The interior is from another age and has its own charm with tables if you want to eat in....

I go to Corvus every 2 weeks or so, usually O have the small fish supper, bread and butter and. Cup of tea, it is always cooked just right and the Staff are lovely.

Traditional style chip shop, eat in or take away and it’s always cooked fresh and perfect every time.

Excellent food excellent service would certainly return. This was our first visit which was recomended by our friends. We did not book and were most surprised to find the cafe was packed with families. We managed to get the last table. This is a family run fish and chip cafe.

We stopped by for a quick bite to eat and got some chip butties as well as a fish and chips. The chip butties were really good and it was good trying "chippy" sauce for the first time. I believe that Corvi's is a family run business, and it was good to see elements of it's history from several black and white photos on the wall. It is also the first place I've come across from the selection in the ice cream cabinet to have Puff Candy flavour which sounds great.

A proper chippy run by the same family for over a century that serves smoked haddock in batter (brown fish supper) and many other appetising meals. Try it you won’t be disappointed it’s the best in the area and beyond....

Had heard good things about Corvi's and decided to try for ourselves. Great fish and chips in a very traditional sit down restaurant.

The trick is to get there when you can sit-in but the traditional chip shop aspect is equally good. The frying apparatus is a thing of great beauty being that there can't be that many of them still in use that are this old. Whoever keeps it in shape does a great job.

Excellent food. Freshly cooked while you wait. Worth a visit. Fast service. They do a great white or brown fish supper. Always a warm welcome. Sit down tables if you want to eat indoors.

This was the first time we have managed to get in here as whenever we have been in Bo'ness it was closed (so check opening hours before you go). It looks retro from the outside and it is with a vintage chip frying range. The only thing missing was Lino on the floor and authentic 1950s music. Very pleasant service and food arrived quickly. The menu was simple but, apart from pickled onions, there was no veg available so the food police evidently haven't found out about this place yet! Fish and chips were excellent and piping hot and, washed down with a mug of tea, we left very happy and very full!

This chip shop has been in bo’ness for ever. It has never changed and still has an air of old fashioned Italian chip shop. Good fish and chips and has seating area for fish tea . The smoked fish supper is a favourite.

The portion sizes are enormous here, so you can share a fish and chips. The food was delicious (even if the atmosphere was a bit lacking). We ordered just one to share, but the cashier got it wrong and brought us two. If I could have finished it, I would have, but it was so much! The chips are perfect, and so is the fish. Make this stop if you can--you will not be disappointed.

Love Corvis! More often than not I get a takeaway but I have been known to sit in the cafe part. The food is always great and the service is impeccable. The ice cream is to die for 😉

What can i say.. i love this place . Best broon fish suppers reasonably priced can sit in durin the day (coal fire burning in the winter makes it cosy) friendly staff . Been goin here for years an out of all the chippies weve ate from this is by far the best . If your ever in Boness head to Corvis (Seaview Cafe) an give it a try.. there ice cream is also rather good to!!

This eaterie is well patronised by the local community, and has been here for years, very traditional decor that serves good chip shop food, always appears very clean.

There was a time in my life, many years ago, when I practically lived off Corvis suppers, but recently I went back again to get another and was pleased to discover it was just as good as I remember it. The chips are brilliantly cooked, which I noticed because it is not always something that is easy to get right. The Fish was brilliantly cooked. What I especially loved was that when I asked for a 'lot' of brown sauce, they listen. Which is nice. I shall treat myself to a supper from here again sometime.

I just popped in for a single nougat. Takes me back to my childhood when these cafes were common. Ended up taking some pics of the interior. The frier is from 1967 and still working.Fantastic. Visit the next time you are in the area. I had just eaten but will be back to try the food. The ice cream was top notch. A privilege to see a good old fashioned establishment. Visited this fish and chip Cafe with the Grandkids and we all loved it, the Smoked haddock supper is certainly a delicacy worth travelling there for. We were given a warm welcome,the food was made fresh and the surroundings are a trip back in time which is quaint and gives the place so much character.Will certainly visit again for the best fish and chips in the district, not to mention the lovely ice cream, keep up the good work folks.

If you're looking for a place that does a traditional Italian chippy menu then this is your venue. Closed on a Sunday & Wednesday and usually by 6.30 every other day - if you snooze you lose . The staff are fabulous. Food high quality.

Been to corvi's for a fish supper tonight.I asked for a small fish supper which if I'm honest is the smallest fish supper I've ever had. A handful of chips and a half of a fish to be precise.The portion was very small but pricey!One of the assistants was coughing into her hand, but she never washed her hands after this and continued to wrap the meals.Decor wise it is stuck in the 60's as is the retro frying equipment.The only positive for me was that the fish was freshly cooked with lovely batter.I won't return!

I have been going to Corvis for aslong as I can remember, great fish and chips and great family atmosphere. Not many old fashioned chips should shops left in this area. Service is second to none.

I've been going to Corvi's for years now & it's the best fish & chips for miles. Their brown sauce was my craving when pregnant & Bert used to supply me with tubs of it to cover me when they were closed. My daughter is 13 now & she's taken over my addiction. I've been taking her here since she was a baby & she's treated like family when she pops in. The food is excellent. I can't recommend it enough. The freshest of fish & everything is cooked to order. Only downside is that I'm quite a late eater & they close quite early in the evening.

So traumatised were we by our recent visit to Nardini's in Largs we returned to Corvi's.......and thank goodness for a chip shop that has piping hot fish and chips...should be simple really and it is at Corvi's!!!!Great waiting staff and a busy place where lots of people popped in for their lunch either to sit in or take-a-way.The small fish and chips could still have someone's eye out as it is more than ample.Our chips were golden and piping hot.The fish?In lovely batter and could be seen from mars...Simply.Perfect.

I had been given a voucher for Corvi's and took my sister for a lunch time treat. The welcome, food and service were excellent. We both enjoyed a small fish supper and a cuppa. The atmosphere was relaxing and I would definitely return to sit in again.

You will usually find a queue in Corvi's as the food is prepared to order. If you go there at the right time, treat yourself to a "brown fish tea".

We had this establishment recommend to us by a friend and while out for a trip we stopped off and had the most wonderful fish and chips all freshly cooked to order. Our haddock was cooked to perfection and the fish just melted in your mouth, the staff were very helpful and if we happen to be in the area again we will most certainly be paying this take away again.

It took me a while before trying this little gem as the outside put me off a bit it looked a bit dark and dingy but it's the best fish and chips for miles cosy and homely on the inside with very friendly staff

I had popped into Bo'ness one lunchtime to pick up a garment from a dressmaker and decided to have lunch while there. Noticed Corvi's which didnt look that fab from the outside but I was glad I went in as the Fish Tea was one of the best I have tasted.

I use this place from time to time. Normally I would get a fish supper, Sometimes at lunchtime maybe just a bag of chips. The staff are all very friendly, the place is always very clean, and the food is prepared fresh always. The fish supper is highly recommended. Be sure and ask for some brown sauce on. It's free and is the best brown sauce you will find anywhere. The same family have been running this shop since anyone can remember. Photos showing the family and the shop going back a long way are dotted about the walls of the shop and make for interesting reading while your waiting for the chips to be ready.There's not many places like this left anymore. Only thing to watch out for is opening and closing times. It opens for lunchtime and for early teatime but closes quite early something like 7pm. So don't leave it too late.

It's quite recently that I discovered this gem I can honestly say that I have not tasted a better fish tea anywhere.i go every fortnight on my way to Bo'ness grosvenors auction and I look forward to it service is wonderfull from 3 wonderfull young ladies it's a great start to a great evening at Scotland's friendliest auction Charlie and Joyce grosvenors .so why not treat yourself to a fabulous night out

We buy a fish supper from Corvi's now and again. It was the best locally but the last couple of times the fish batter has been a bit soggy, even although we ordered it crispy. Has there been a change in the batter recipe or the temperature of the drier?

iv used corvies chippie for about fifty odd years i can remember going with my grannie and neverhad any complaint about the food .berts broon fish suppers are special. and now my grand children ask to go to corvies they rate it over mcdonalds high praise indeed from a bunch od 5 to 10 year olds .everything made to order and friendy service nice to see berts daughter takeing over a bit and wish her all the best in the future and bert in retirement i hope my young ones are taking their grandchildren in the future

The only place I know of that sells a Brown Fish Supper, don't be put off by the name. The BFS is a smoked haddock supper in batter.....very yummyThe staff are lovely and the food is always freshly made to order

the food in corvis is awesome ,i never liked fish till i had it in corvis,the chips are magic and there sausages, food is excellent its a big hit in the town with all the towns people and passers by from other places.

We regularly eat at lunch time at Corvi's and never once have we been disappointed. The staff are very welcoming and cannot do enough for you. The venue is spotlessly clean freshly cooked to order.

Fantastic, fresh fish served in tasty batter, with 'proper' chips. We travel frequently from near Blackpool & always look forward to treating ourselves. It is worth the trip just for the fish & chips

We came across the restaurant by chance, lovely white haddock, crispy batter and perfect chips! Washed down with a strong pot of tea!

We were passing and went in for small fish and chips...Totally lovely staff and the fish was fresh and chips amazing.What an absolute delight to be met with really lovely staff a great atmosphere and varied ages all munching! It was nice that staff come to take your order if eating in,but they have counter staff for those taking their yummy's out!The batter on the fish was totally great and we will be back when in the area visiting family again!

We had a lovely day there last year they couldn't do enough for us and stayed open longer for us the food was fab and the kids all had a great time then enjoyed the delicious icecream definitely recommend it

We first tried this chip shop about 30 years ago and were very impressed with the good quality, value-for-money food.Strangely enough, we had never been back until recently when we had occasion to visit once again.Amazingly, the quality was as we remembered all these years ago and we were treated to one of the best haddock fish suppers we had tasted for a long time and at an equally affordable price.When you enter, it is like stepping back into Victorian times as the décor is old fashioned in a genuine way and hence very atmospheric.But what really makes Corvi's stand out is the fact that everything is cooked to order (the only way to make great fish & chips). This ensures crispy batter on the fish and perfectly cooked chips. Add friendly, efficient staff and you have a winning formula - hope it stays the same for another 30 years.

If fish and chips is your preference then you won't get better ANYWHERE ! Every now and again I have had someone recommend somewhere else, so just out of curiosity I have experimented.But I can say without reservation that the fish and chips served at the Corvie in Bo'ness is the very best I have ever had! The batter is crisp all over, not just on one side. Too often , if you have it to take home, the underside has gone soggy.....not so here! The chips are perfectly cooked..crispy outside and fluffy inside ; the flavour is just delicious! Fresh fish, which tastes like it's just been caught..and I have had fish straight from the sea, so I know when it's old ! Friendly service , whether you are sitting in or taking away . Only down side is that they don't open in the evening. They also do 'real' chippy sauce !

I visited this fish & chip shop for the first time on Saturday, the 20th of December. Both the fish and the chips were freshly cooked while I waited, and very good they were - the fish nice and moist in a crispy batter, and the chips nice and dry.The only downside was that we had hoped to eat-in, but the seating area closed at 2pm.The young woman who served me was very pleasant, and knew a lot about her product. We had a nice conversation whilst my food was cooking - very professional!Before you go on, or come off, the Bo'ness steam railway, this is an ideal traditional fish & chip shop to satisfy your hunger.

Really lovely and fresh, everything made for you as soon as you put your order in. Fish was lovely and light and a gorgeous batter. Only slight downside for me was that there was no curry sauce.

Corvi's is a traditional fish and chip shop which is situated within the historic (and picturesque) town of Bo'ness. Since moving to the local area, Corvi's, with good reason, has become a firm favourite of mine and, in all my times visiting - whether with friends, family or alone, I've never (as yet) had a bad experience with the food consistently cooked to a very high standard and the staff too of an incredibly warm, friendly and professional disposition. In visiting these premises, you can see that "Bert" is a much-loved member of the local community and he and I have been able to talk in great detail abour our shared passion for good food.Corvi's is very reasonably priced with the food of excellent quality - perhaps testament to the proprietors skill and many years of experience within the business and, without exception, each order is made whilst you wait ensuring that your food is fresh. Should you be so inclined, there's also a good selection of ice cream available which, on a summers day is certainly something to be enjoyed after your main meal. Within Corvi's there's a seating area which more mature people will certainly relate to as they'll remember the fashions/styles of times gone by and, for younger people, it's an experience in itself just being able to marvel at the many pictures and decorations from another era with the Corvi family themselves featuring prominently in many.Out of all the fish and chip shops I've frequented over the years, Corvi's is the one with which I feel the most affinity, the one where I've been made to feel most welcome - almost to the point of being "part of the family" as it were for they show genuine (and sincere) care for their customers - something perhaps lacking nowadays and ALL staff are more than happy to assist in anyway they can which is especially helpful for those with disabilities etc. In visiting Corvi's, you can be sure to leave with a smile on your face and with the satisfaction too of knowing that you'll be eating good, honest and lovingly prepared food which will ensure that you look forward to your next visit, I know I do!Truly one of the best.

My mum hadn't been in Corvi's in Bo'ness for 62 years and it did not disappoint! Amazing fish and chips ( which would rival Anstruther as best in Scotland) and fantastically welcoming at atmosphere complete with open fire. Corvi's is a family business that has been around for many years. It's simply a good old fashioned fish and chip restaurant delivering a quality product at reasonable prices. Having a sit in meal is like stepping back in time and their fish and chips are excellent as is the friendly service. Advise that you book a table if a large party at weekends. Closed Monday-Thursday.
